Always have old fashioned oatmeal for breakfast water, fresh fruit, cinnamon, ginger and no sugar add. Not been able to see the physical benefits. Maybe I am to old.

I try not to over eat carbs and fatty foods (which includes too much oatmeal). Take 10km+ hikes. Sleep well and drink water. Used this pattern for 3 months and already lost 20 pounds. Just another 26 pounds to go, before I am considered normal weight. When I crave food, I drink water and carrot juice on occasion (2-3 cups of carrot juice), each day.

For those of you that don't like steel cut oatmeal, Walmart Quick steel cut oats are really great. It doesn't seem to be as course as regular steel cut. I like it better than any oatmeal. I also love the narrator's voice.

I have been eating oatmeal for breakfast for years (8). I make it with sliced almonds, cinnamon, bananas, cranberries and blueberries...when I can. It keeps me hunger free all day. Until it wears off then, I’m starving. I grab something not so good for me, it could be, instant Mac& Cheese or pb+j sandwich. Anything quick to appease my hunger. Yes I’m a little overweight.

I have 2 tbsp of oats in a mug, with raisins or dried cranberries, tbsp of powdered coffee creamer and 1 half tsp of splenda, add hot water from kettle. Leave for 4 minutes and good to go. oh, that and my mug of coffee :D that gets me going in the morning... thx for the video, subbed...

Steel cut oats are the only way to go. Keep the old fashioned oats for cookies. But the steel cut ones taste soooo much better.

None Sense ! !, I've been eating oatmeal every morning for years and I am still fat, greasy, chunky, flabby, plump, chubby, fleshy, meaty, pudgy, bulky, well upholstered, tubby, beefy, porky, roly poly, gross,  heavy, bloated, blubbery, round, ample, heavy, puppy fat, stubby, and obese ! So much for eating oatmeal every morning ?

Health Maestro I'm glad you were born, I take a small interest in farming, grain farmers in North America often spray their non-GMO grainfields with Roundup, they do this because it dries the oats grain for storage prior to combining and harvest. the solution could be planting some oats grain in your own garden and Milling it with your own kitchen Mill which I think you can buy for $200 or $300.

A spoonful of pure Molasses will give you sweetness & LOTS of Iron & other good nutrients too. I also add chopped pecans or walnuts; whatever I have in the pantry. There is no "wrong" way to top off oatmeal!

Two things I love about oatmeal is it satisfies me for longer and it gives me energy. One thing I don't love about oatmeal is that it gives me gas. I don't mind it, but everyone around me does.

I thrive health wise on a starch-centric diet which of course includes oatmeal,. A starch based diet (for me) heals GERD (or at least its asymptomatic) , and starches always drops my weight back down to where I want it to be-since I am a runner. Sometimes I cycle off starches and eat more "normal" meaning I include more meats in my diet..but that is where I gain weight again and GERD returns.

I like using International Delight flavored coffee creamer in my oatmeal. It probably messes up the benefits of oatmeal a little bit. But, wow! Does it taste good. Peace. 😊

As a kid I never liked the texture. To fix this recently, I add an extra 1/4 cup of oatmeal to cause it to cook with some texture. Add milk and fruit and I can eat it again.

Having honey, sugar or any sweet topping is actually ok with oatmeal/porridge because the natural fibre in oatmeal slows down the sugar absorption. Having a that little sugar in the morning is also good to kick start your metabolism after your sleeping fast. Why Break-fast is called what it is. Just leave the fast carbs out on the later stages of your day. Recently In the UK the porridge pots that you just add hot water to are now using rolled oats as opposed to porridge flakes which makes them more beneficial. They also contain no sugar whatsoever if you did want to go sugarless or to have a low glycemic meal in the later stages of your day. A convenient and practical option if you've had a long day at work.

Eat overnight/refrigerated oats, or better yet eat fermented oats... the taste, texture, & health benefits are much better than cooked oats.

Me too. It's my favorite but sometimes I find it's constipating. I add chia and flax, cinnamon and almond milk and it's like eating cement! Really binding. I must be the only person who has that problem from eating it.

I eat Stone ground Oatmeal or Oatmeal bran every single morning. 1/4 cup to 3/4 cup water. I also include a protein with that meal. I'm a rabid cyclist and I race. I am also a 67-year-old woman. It isn't the oatmeal that's bad for you if you stick with non-processed oatmeal and of course if you are active. Do your own research, don't be a lazy thinker and learn to love the big "O."

Oatmeal cooked in water and Served with a small splash of milk topped of with a good grind of black pepper is very tasty and ultra low calorie. Oatmeal doesn't have to be sweetened every time

I can totally eat oatmeal all day with Greek yogurt coconut (I make it so it's basically 0 calories) then I add dairy free chocolate chips mini just about a tsp. Then 1 tsp of unsweetened coconut with a drop of pure coconut extract. A tablespoon of PB2 and pacific almond unsweetened milk....I eat this like a dessert well for me it is....all day sadly I can eat this!!!

Just dont eat it with cows milk as this will stop correct digestion. cows milk is not absorbed very easily. try oatmeal with soy milk instead. dont eat it with fruit as fruit should be eaten on an empty stomach, otherwise, digestion will be hindered due to acid and alkaline mix.

Porridge Additions: Porridge alone can be monotonous, try adding these tasteful additions: Blueberries - Bananas - Blackcurrants - Cranberries  - Melon - Raspberries - Strawberries - Pineapple Cut Small Pieces - Peaches. Eat a bowl of porridge and you're full for six hours! BEWARE: Tinned Fruit May Contain Sugar-Added. Regards.

I absolutely hated Oatmeal for most of my life. It looked just like vomit to me. I just couldn't stomach it without wanting to throw up myself. Later in life I started having high cholesterol issues and my body could not tolerate any of the statin drugs prescribed to lower cholesterol. Out of necessity I had to go the route of changing my diet. I was already exercising regularly so that was no problem but, even with a good exercise routine I couldn't get my cholesterol down to safe levels. I had to bite the bullet and start eating this Oatmeal/vomit for breakfast in addition to other dietary changes. It still grosses me out to have to eat this stuff but if my next blood tests indicate some improvement in cholesterol levels I guess I'll have to get used to eating vomit for breakfast.

TIM MONTANO I felt the same way and also have cholesterol issues, I now put it in smoothies to get the benifit of the oats without the taste. I hope it helps.

Like my Ma always said, old fashion oatmeal keep u filler. I put 1/2 banana, hand full walnuts,cook it then add Brown suger plus cinmonn and a little butter. Hold me until 1pm.if u are ON the go for the day ,eat a big bowl of oatmeal. It will hold u petty good until ur next meal.
