This video to me is absolutely shocking, I so clearly remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison in 1991, I remember the media here in America going crazy talking about it, I remember Oprah having a special on the life of Nelson Mandela, watching this video is like watching something from another world.

Then I ask, what was the state of South Africa in your memories? Were they still an apartheid state? Were black people provided the right to vote? If so, who negotiated in Mandela's place?

mark anthony Let me get this straight. Are you saying that black South Africans were better off in apartheid? Are you saying it is better to to have no rights than to be free?

The US government are such hypocrites. They always try to celebrate Mandela and his life, yet they were the cause of him being in prison, they labeled him a terrorist, and were a major force in keeping South African apartheid in force for so long. The USA is number one... in double standards.

By that time he and his comrades had been arrested multiple times for non violent protests and they were enraged finally by the mass shootings of 69 people. (civilians to be exact by the apartheid government a.k.a Sharpeville Massacre). At this point the ANC had been taking part in non violent protest for approximately 50 years with no result ,unfortunately as a means to get heard or to evoke a different response from the apartheid gov. they took an extreme decision and that was to bomb Church Street in Pretoria.
Prins van Oranje (6 months ago)
Americans For Change No, he was the cause of him being in prison. If he didn't bomb several cities, he wouldn't be in prison.
