I have some mollies that seem to have parasites. It is only a few raised scales w/ white protrusion less than 1 mm sticking out, so I think it is body flukes. Mollies are actually brackish animals that can be (slowly) acclimated to full marine strength saltwater, so in addition to putting API General Cure in the tank & feeding anti-paracite fish flakes, I also have added more & more salt to the tank over time, until it is about 1/2 the way to ocean strength saltwater..... bu t it still keeps coming back. Not sure what to do......
I have a goldfish, she has red blotches (most likely anchor worms) but she's also having a problem steadying herself in the water... Is this normal with parasites, or does she have a swim bladder problem

The argument against table salt is that, even if it is not iodized, it probably contains "anti-caking" compounds to keep it from sticking together in little clumps. Many fish can tolerate it in small amounts, but it's like you won't die if you jog behind a car w/ busted muffler spewing black smoke in your face - it is still bad for you even if it does not kill you.
Interestingly, if you but "Aquarium Salt" at the local fish store, it is also NaCl like table salt - just very pure w/out any iodine or anti-caking ingredients.
"Marine Salt" mixes like Instant Ocean & Kent's Marine are a much more complex cocktail of chemicals designed to mimic the PH as well as salt content of ocean water for marine tanks.
Funny because every expert fish keeper I know uses table salt or sea salt without any problems. Who run successful businesses and treat sick fish. Nicole's advice is right up there with, "Use carbon in your tank," and, "Be sure to switch out cartridges every month." also a classic, "One gallon per fish." or "all little snails are pest snails!" Not really people's fault, ton of false information out there.
You never use carbon, you don't need to do anything but use a sponge intake and biorings, and how many fish you have depends on space and size obviously. But it has the most to do with the good bacteria in your tank and how much space you have to create as many good bacteria as possible. Snails tell you how good your fish tank is doing, they don't eat live plants only dead plants and you can literally control their population by not overfeeding.
But "Aquarium salt" is the industry's equivalent of "filter cartridges", Aquarium salt is just salt in a different bag to take your money, as are filter cartiridges - when you can just buy a bunch of bio rings or bio balls to put in your filter that will last 25 years. Or get a sponge filter and clean it in 2 minutes once a month.
But yes table salt is fine.
I nick how much salt will I need if I am using a jug or a 10lt bucket I have six tanks on the go and some of them have shrimp in them and you can't use any medication that as copper In it as it will kill the shrimp I have two fish, that are flicking and rubbing them self on plants and rocks

+Ironiic zero I use 1 teaspoon per gal. directly in my tank for all the fish, instead of a stronger individual salt bath. Much easier, and still highly effective. Stop all feeding, increase aeration to maximum for 24 hours a day, followed by daily 10% water changes. Works well for me.

How often?!? If his condition stays the same, when do I give in & get stronger meds (3 days, a week)?
BTW, if you have worm like hairs in your feces, u have worms! Although some parasites are useful in treating autoimmune diseases; u might wanna take care of it before anemia, malnutrition, gout... sets in. ;)
big mistake a lot of people make with a planted tank is adding aquarium salt to the tank instead of salt bathing them. Even the slightest amount of the salt is deadly to plants, very few species can tolerate salinity.
Hi, yes you could try a salt bath. Also try raising the temp in your tank above 86F for a few days as this will help fight off the ich. You may need to nedicate the whole tank though if the fish are in a bad way. Hope that helps
Good thing i read this.. i have a full carpet of baby tears.. so what should i do guys? they are whiteish and wiggle like worms very thin like hair. but not long at all.. kind of like the stuff you find in feces but much thinner. sorry to be so vivid

The class of drugs that Levitra, Viagra, Stendra, and Cialis belong to are called PDE5 inhibitors. They work by relaxing tight blood vessels, allowing more blood to surge into the penis and cause an erection, says Gregory Bales, M.D., an associate professor of urology at the University of Chicago.
The little pills do the trick for more than two-thirds of men with Viagra protects the heart (ED). They also work for guys who simply need them for a short time to get their “confidence back,” says Michael Eisenberg, M.D., director of male reproductive medicine and surgery at Stanford University.
