(7 Jul 2018) The Pride march in Budapest was held without incident on Saturday, as police kept several dozen far-right supporters behind metal barriers and away from the crowd. Several thousand people took part in the 23rd edition of the march in the Hungarian capital. The motto this year was "dare to dream big" and ended at Kossuth Square, outside the neo-Gothic Parliament on the banks of the Danube River. While no violence was reported and 35 embassies representing countries around the world issued a joint statement in support of the event, officials from Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government refused invitations to take part.
