Seven foods that will naturally cleanse your liver
The primary way in which your body expels toxins is via the liver, which detoxifies and cleanses your body by continuously filtering the blood of poisons that enter it through the digestive tract, the skin, and the respiratory system. But when your liver becomes overworked as a result of stress or excessive exposure to toxins, your entire system can be thrown off balance, and your health severely compromised.
Since the liver is also responsible for producing bile, another form of detoxification that is metabolically necessary for the breakdown and assimilation of fats and proteins from your food, it is exceedingly important that your liver be properly maintained. Without a well-functioning liver, your body will be unable to cleanse itself and absorb nutrients, which is a recipe for a health disaster.
"The thousands of enzyme systems that are responsible for virtually every body activity are constructed in the liver," writes Dr. Karl Maret, M.D., about the importance of vibrant liver function. "The proper functioning of the eyes, the heart, the brain, the gonads, the joints, and the kidneys, are all dependent on good liver activity."
"If the liver is impaired from constructing even one of the thousands of enzyme systems the body requires, there is an impairment in overall body function and a resultant greater metabolic stress on the individual."
So here are seven important foods you may want to begin incorporating into your diet in order to maintain a healthy liver.
Garlic, grapefruit, green tea, and green vegetables
Garlic contains numerous sulfur-containing compounds that activate the liver enzymes responsible for flushing out toxins from the body. This bulbous relative of the onion also contains allicin and selenium, two powerful nutrients proven to help protect the liver from toxic damage, and aid it in the detoxification process.
Grapefruit is rich in natural vitamin C and antioxidants, two powerful liver cleansers. Like garlic, grapefruit contains compounds that boost the production of liver detoxification enzymes. It also contains a flavonoid compound known as naringenin that causes the liver to burn fat rather than store it (http://www.dailymail.co.uk).
Green tea is loaded with catechins, a type of plant antioxidant that has been shown in studies to eliminate liver fat accumulation and promote proper liver function (http://www.nature.com/ijo/journal/v26...). This powerful herbal beverage also protects the liver against toxins that would otherwise accumulate and cause serious damage.
Leafy green vegetables such as bitter gourd, arugula, dandelion greens, spinach, mustard greens, and chicory also contain numerous cleansing compounds that neutralize heavy metals, which can bear heavily on the liver. Leafy greens also eliminate pesticides and herbicides from the body, and spur the creation and flow of cleansing bile.
Avocados, walnuts, and turmeric
Rich in glutathione-producing compounds, avocados actively promote liver health by protecting it against toxic overload, and boosting its cleansing power (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/...). Some research has shown that eating one or two avocados a week for as little as 30 days can repair a damaged liver.
Walnuts, which contain high levels of l-arginine, an amino acid, glutathione, and omega-3 fatty acids, also help detoxify the liver of disease-causing ammonia. Walnuts also help oxygenate the blood, and extracts from their hulls are often used in liver-cleansing formulas.
Turmeric, one of the most powerful foods for maintaining a healthy liver, has been shown to actively protect the liver against toxic damage, and even regenerate damaged liver cells. Turmeric also boosts the natural production of bile, shrinks engorged hepatic ducts, and improves overall function of the gallbladder, another body-purifying organ.

I am lacking my aldh2 enzymes in my liver which means I'm allergic to alcohol and food that's fermented. There is no cure any where accept the information on videos like this. Do you have any information on my situation?
Naringenin from Grapefruit is a P-450 Detox inhibitor or antagonist, that's why people taking prescription meds like hypertension drugs are advised to not eat grapefruit when taking the meds. Grapefruit "slows" down the detox of meds which delays the drug metabolism thereby increasing levels in the blood. And I will have the Blueberries on the side. Thanks for loving your kitty.
We moved into our very own tiny house in March, but we don't have Internet which is why we have not uploaded any new videos and rarely approve and respond to comments. I am at the public library right now. With all the added cost of owning and maintaining a house, we have no money to pay for Internet.

Depends on how old the container of garlic is; garlic has two active ingredients that don't mix until you crush or cut it. But I'm not sure of the shelf life of garlic. I have had cloves of garlic in my kitchen and after a few weeks or a month, the cloves get soft and go bad.
Cleansing is only part of it. You must stop putting products on and in your body that cause acne. The first step would be to "clean out" all of the organs that remove toxins and waste product from your body. Those would be your intestines (aka digestive tract, which needs several cleanses at first then just maintenance), your bladder, your liver and your skin.
Thanks Katherin. Also helpful for liver cleanse:
Lemons & Limes (Drinking freshly-squeezed lemon or lime juice in the morning helps stimulate the liver.),
Avocados (This nutrient-dense super-food helps the body produce glutathione, a compound that is necessary for the liver to cleanse harmful toxins.)
just ran across your video. very interesting. I am a nurse with RA and I use to eat a lot of grapfruit, but the meds I am on states grapefruit is contraindicated when taking it. Is there any other fruit you recomend? I am trying to eat healthy because the prednisone is causing wt gain.

Thank's this video helped me out! I was really sick and had a fatty liver.I started juicing green vegetables and then I seen this and started eating more salads with all that stuff that's in the video.I found out that garlic helped me out a lot to! I still feel a little sick but my doctor sad that my liver looks great now! People should just keep looking for good things for your liver like Milk Thistle extract is Awesome for your liver! A good doc to see is"Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead"!
It's never too late to change your eating habits, and as long as there is some healthy liver tissue it can rebuild itself. First of all, stop drinking or everything else is a waste of time. My Dad, who is 83, is reversing liver damage that has been verified through blood tests by his doctor. And he eats regular processed and even microwaved foods.
He has been taking "PhosChol: A Membrane Therapeutic for Liver Disturbances" for about 3 years now.
I am ill. I have autoimmune arthritis, high blood pressure, hypo-thyroidism, insomnia, and Irritable bowel which keeps me home because I'm afraid of getting away from a restroom, I recently had bout of Diverticulitis. I am on medication for all these health issues, BUT.... I don't know how to get healthy while I'm ill.
I am confused about what I should eat. Everytime I eat greens or fruit I get diarreah.
Also Important: only eat 21 ounces of red meat a week due to its phosphoric acid content.
I try to mostly eat chicken in its original form. Processed chicken examples are chicken nuggets and any formed chicken patties.
Steak, cuts of meat that have not been processed by putting it through a mechanical process to alter its shape. Simply put, only eat meat that is in its original whole shape when it was cut off of an animal. Hamburger, hotdogs, sausage, sliced packaged lunch meat are all examples of heavily processed meats that are harmful for your body due to added ingredients.
Sure, deprive oneself of nutrients needed to maintain a healthy body and you will be skinner (not necessarily healthier).
It really comes down to one's genes - their genetic DNA makeup as to their body shape and how they react to certain foods.
The government has everyone convinced that one diet fits all humans, which is actually harmful for people in general. People need to eat the foods their ancestors consumed as that is what will keep them healthy.
First time I cleaned out 14 pounds of undigested waste and over a few months a total of 30-40 pounds of it from my intestines. Now I no longer have that problem so eating fruit with other food is not an issue.
If you really want to be correct, you should not eat any modern fruit as it is not natural. All common fruits found in the grocery stores have been manipulated by man to increase the sugar content to an unnatural level.
Years ago when I first "discovered" homeopathic medicine and eating 100% raw, I read that same thing, however, I discovered the reason why.
People who eat SAD (Standard American Diet) have undigested food rotting in their small and large intestines where fruit will ferment causing gas, bloating and other issues. I went through several months of this while I was thoroughly cleansing my intestines.
Do not use any oil except 100% extra virgin, cold pressed coconut oil for cooking and olive oil on salads. You can also use coconut oil for everything - to eat in foods and drinks, on your skin, for cuts, in baking and cooking. Coconut oil is very healthy and is 100% cholesterol free.
Doing Liver and Gallbladders flushes will help to cleanse your liver of fatty deposits and "gallstones." I've done four total, but I need to do a lot more.
I am not a doctor so I can not give you any medical advice. Best health advice is to stop eating any processed foods, only eat meat in its' original form; not processed lunch meat. Try to eat organic, grass-fed meat. Processed foods includes everything at the grocery store except fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds in the produce section.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, fish will if you're doing a true liver cleanse. During the cleanse you need to give your liver a rest by avoiding meat proteins, fats, sugars and anything processed and artificial.
For an optimal cleanse stick to raw, organic fruits and produce foods that would have been found in nature 200 years ago. Eat those foods either in a salad or juiced.
Yes, chicken will screw up the cleanse. Your liver needs a break to cleanse itself. Meat, protein, alcohol, sugar (alone, in drinks or food), caffeine, adulterated processed fats, artificial sweeteners, and all processed foods stress and tax the liver preventing it from doing its job; which is to cleanse the body of toxins.
Some of the cool weather veggies survived the winter and are currently in full bloom. I have been munching on arugula, different lettuces, spinach, green onions, and chives for the past month. Some carrots I missed are growing bigger every day along with some other veggies, possible radishes.
It is kept in the fridge and is a lot more fresher than buying the same produce at a store. Once my garden is in full bloom, I will pick only the leaves and edible parts leaving the rest of the plant intact so it will continue to produce all summer. I did that all last summer every couple days so I always had very fresh salads.
Another good tip I've found for me is since I usualy have to make a big salad to feel more satisfied, instead of eating it all at once I divide the salad in half and eat the other half a hour or two later. I found out even eating healthy foods can be inflamitory if you over eat them in one sitting. I've found doing this I feel fuller longer and less weighted down and slugish after like my body isn't as stressed to process it all at once. Another tip is making your own sprouts, its cheap/easy.
The class of drugs that Levitra, Viagra, Stendra, and Cialis belong to are called PDE5 inhibitors. They work by relaxing tight blood vessels, allowing more blood to surge into the penis and cause an erection, says Gregory Bales, M.D., an associate professor of urology at the University of Chicago.
The little pills do the trick for more than two-thirds of men with Viagra protects the heart (ED). They also work for guys who simply need them for a short time to get their “confidence back,” says Michael Eisenberg, M.D., director of male reproductive medicine and surgery at Stanford University.
