Why is it so important to keep cholesterol at the normal levels and how to maintain it within the health limits? Cholesterol has extremely important reasons for our body and functions: it participates in the construction of cell membranes and in the formation of sexes and adrenal hormones; without cholesterol, the body can not synthesize vitamin D, which is indispensable to healthy bones, nor produces bile acid, without which fat in the body cannot be processed properly.
When an excess of cholesterol accumulates in the body, it can not be broken down and this increases the risks to our health. The main danger is the onset of atherosclerosis, which in turn is the cause of most cardiovascular diseases such as a heart attack for example. The causes of increased levels of cholesterol in the blood are different: hereditary predisposition, chronic liver disease thyroid gland and diabetes.
A sure way to maintain a normal cholesterol level is regular testing. Specialists recommend except for total, to monitor still poor (LDL) and good (HDL) cholesterol, as well as triglycerides. It is known that 20 years is the age in which the first examination for determining the values of cholesterol should be done. Revealed in time, increased cholesterol can be overcome and can not lead to serious health problems later.
Here are 6 signs that you may have high cholesterol.
1. yellow growths on your eyelids.
Did you know that yellowish eyelid can be a sign of high cholesterol? Take a good look at the eyelids, if you notice yellow spots, make a doctor’s appointment, check your cholesterol levels and your heart’s health. Also, do you notice painless yellow growths of the upper and lower eyelids? This phenomenon is called “xanthelasma” and it is a clear indication that you have high blood cholesterol levels.
2. gray-colored ring around your cornea.
Often this is a sign of aging, so it should not be a cause for worry. But if you are far from retired, the gray circle around the iris may indicate high cholesterol and blood fat, which very often means a risk of heart attack or stroke. This gray colored ring or lacquer is actually composed of cholesterol that collects in the deeper parts of your cornea.
3. tingling sensation in the hands and feet.
The tingling sensation of the hands and feet may indicate a problem in your body. This should be taken seriously because these symptoms can be caused by serious health problems. If the blood vessels are blocked by cholesterol, it is likely that you will feel tingling in your hands and feet,
because your peripheral nerves are not getting do enough blood oxygen and nutrients for their proper functioning.
4. pain in the neck and back of the head.
Because cholesterol levels that are too high can cause some of your blood vessels to block, it’s very possible that your circulation is obstructed. Such can leave your neck sensitive and deteriorate from time to time. The shoulder can also be felt in the same way. Medical practitioners say that high blood cholesterol levels can also make you have a headache, especially in the back of your head.
5. rapid or pounding beating of the heart.
When a person says that she has heart palpitations, she thinks of the inner feeling that her heart beats something different from the usual one. Or, it simply has the awareness of the heartbeat. Most of the time, heart palpitations are harmless and they are often experienced after exercise or engaging in the intense physical activity. Sometimes they are due to anxiety, stress, and the intake of certain drugs. Palpitations may also indicate problems with the cardiovascular system, but and high cholesterol levels are one of them. Clogging the blood vessels due to cholesterol can lead to an accelerated operation of your heart.
6. unhealthy diet and lifestyle.
If you eat plenty of fatty foods and avoid fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of fiber if you are a smoker and if you drink alcohol in excessive amounts, if you are overweight and do not exercise regularly, then there is a great chance that your cholesterol level is already high. But sometimes high cholesterol depends on our genes. About 1 in 500 people have a specific genetic mutation that leads to the accumulation of cholesterol in their blood. These people suffer from high cholesterol regardless of their lifestyle.
if you suspect that you may have high cholesterol then please start eating a healthy diet and get levels checked out at the hospital.

MADAM ME I'M KENYAN I think the issue with upper back pain is related to congested liver and congested gall bladder. Insufficient bile causes gall bladder to be congested and it tenses the nerve that run through your gall - shoulder - scapula. What you can do is to apply some pressure to the gall bladder to release the upset nerves. You can lookfor Dr Berg's video about gall bladder accupressure technique. I have tried it and it relieved my shoulder pain instantly.
Read the long version of this at link.
Despite being prescribed statins, high blood pressure medications and diabetes medications, my husband developed END STAGE heart disease. After 4 stents his ejection fraction was still less than 15%, he could not get out of bed to get a shower, he was weak, sick, frail and pale. Today he's growing stronger, vibrant, glowing skin and is the picture of improving health. ALL because of healthy eating and VERY wise supplementation including the Awesome Foursome as Sinatra writes to great length about - magnesium, l-carnitine, d-ribose, and co-enzymeQ10 (though we prefer to use ubiquinol with PQQ instead.)
INFLAMMATION IS THE PROBLEM. Lack of NUTRITION is the problem. OVER-PROCESSED FOOD is the problem (we refer to this as chemicalized sludge). OVER-MEDICATION is the problem! Egotistical medical doctors who deny the truth further contribute to the problem! HEAVY METALS is ALSO part of the problem. Find a ACAM doctor willing to do an IV Chelation challenge with urinalysis and see which heavy metals are involved - we're repeatedly seeing MERCURY, LEAD, THALLIUM and MRI Contrast GADOLINIUM among our friends and acquaintances on local support groups. We will NEVER EVER EVER consent to an MRI with contrast EVER AGAIN, GADOLINIUM IS TOXIC! GADOLINIUM CAUSED MY HUSBAND's ATRIAL FIBRILLATION AND PARTIAL PARALYSIS.
To prevent stroke, please do not eat farmed salmon. Norwegian salmon is the most dangerous. Most of the Norwegian farmed seafood exported is heavily contaminated with dangerous toxin that causes cancer, miscarriages, strokes, https://youtu.be/RYYf8cLUV5E
Hi Teddles Peddles! Thanks for the reply, it is encouraging to see more people is concerned of the food we consume. I have limited knowledge of the contamination due to the Fukashima disaster, but it will depend of the level of radiation. Radiation changes from area to area. In Europe we had a nuclear reactor meltdown in Ukraine years ago. Even as far away as Northern Norway the radiation in the deer and lamb was too high and eating the meat was prohibited. As years gone by the radiation get lower and now it is safe to eat deer and lamb in Norway. Same with Mercury pollution, it is safe to eat the small fish, but hazardous to eat the big fish eating the small fish. Crab meat in some Norwegian fjords is so contaminated by PCB, you can only eat one gram and be above the hazardous levels, a few miles away the waters is so clean you can eat unlimited quantities of crab. For consumers it is not easy to figure out what is safe or not, here we need assistance from the authorities. For example, in some countries we have free control on wild mushrooms people pick in the forest, some toxic mushrooms looks like safe mushroom and they need experts to check it.
The Norwegian salmon is very toxic due to the fodder we give to the fish. It is fish protein from the heavily polluted Baltic Sea and it is used illegal preservatives to keep the fish fodder fresh during storage. In my point of view this is cold blooded murder of consumers. When they discovered the farmed fish was toxic, they should have had a product recall and destroyed all the fish that has eaten the toxic fodder. They did not do that, instead they covered it up and silenced the scientists whistle blowers. This is organized crime against consumers who for years has assumed farmed salmon is good for your health, wild salmon is the only salmon we know is safe.
The way we humans pollute the planet is shameful, even wild tuna might be too toxic. We must eat something, so the authorities should check each shipment of fish. They only take random check for Salmonella and Listeria bacteria, but not for toxins. What is scary is the cover up, just to save a few $ Billions in profit, people get terminally ill and miscarriages. Fortunately, there is chefs and consumer organizations that warn people, but not enough. In the Norwegian farmed salmon scandal, we see of corruption and threats. We need a class action law suits to hurt their profits. If they check the toxins in the body of terminally ill people, they should be able to connect these toxins to the consumption of farmed Norwegian salmon. The producers, exporters, importers, wholesalers, and supermarkets are liable. They have the information or have an obligation to check the products they sell. The Norwegian farmed salmon business is a multi-billion-dollar industry with huge profits, they should take toxic products of the markets, or as a minimum label the salmon toxic and provide information of the health hazards as they do with tobacco and alcohol.
The class of drugs that Levitra, Viagra, Stendra, and Cialis belong to are called PDE5 inhibitors. They work by relaxing tight blood vessels, allowing more blood to surge into the penis and cause an erection, says Gregory Bales, M.D., an associate professor of urology at the University of Chicago.
The little pills do the trick for more than two-thirds of men with Viagra protects the heart (ED). They also work for guys who simply need them for a short time to get their “confidence back,” says Michael Eisenberg, M.D., director of male reproductive medicine and surgery at Stanford University.
