(12 May 2018) NAOMI CAMPBELL SAYS PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKEL IS A GLOBAL 'SYMBOL' FOR RACE EQUALITY Supermodel Naomi Campbell says Britain's Prince Harry and his future wife Meghan Markel "are going to be a couple that is going to be a symbol, a big symbol all over the world." The supermodel, who was speaking at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (12MAY18), said "Princess Diana would be so happy that her son is doing and marrying the women that he wanted to and I think she would of loved her. And I think it's fantastic. I think this is another example, showing the world about race." Campbell is at the festival with her Fashion For Relief gala, a charity fundraising initiative she has been representing since 2005. "Race to Equality means to me is to be treated fairly in an equal way with impartiality, whoever you are, where ever you are in the world," said Campbell at the press conference the day before the event. Among the charities, this year's event is also in support the Time's Up movement, which Campbell says is having an influence on a global scale. "I think the whole world has been shaken. It's not just Hollywood. I think it's every business, in every occupation. The whole world is seeing a new world right now where people are finally getting the right to speak up and the right to have the jobs and the positions that they should have had when they had the qualifications to get it. So I think for me this was going to happen, it was a bubble about to burst anyway." One journalist asked whether women should now "change the way women present themselves" on the Cannes red carpets, which Campbell took umbrage to. "So you think if they show their bodies it gives the right for them to be what?" asked Campbell. "Look, for me, you should be able to wear what you want to wear. I wear what I want to wear and it's also my job to wear certain things also. But what is the question? It doesn't give the right just because a woman wears something that they can be harassed for it." "Cannes has always had the glamorous and the sexy and the fashion and the jewelry so I don't think that should change. That should still be. I mean I don't like vulgarity, don't get me wrong, but I think still be you." Lightening the mood, she was then asked whether she had any beauty tips – which she revealed include putting coffee and baking soda on her face and eating chocolate. Then she joked that the last wasn't necessarily a beauty tip.
