Immunology Lecture 9 (T cell receptors and Immunoglobulins) 1/4

Оценок: 308 | Просмотров: 41562
Watch all drbeen lectures at https://www.drbeen.com Review of immunology. Continuing with T Cells. This lecture contains videos presenting the T cell receptor structure, function and pathology. A comparison with the immunoglobulins is also presented. Finally a brief introduction is made for the DNA rearrangement for variable regions. A high yield topic and an important basis to understand SCID (Sever Combined Immuno-deficiency.)

If only apc can show mhc-2 then how cortex epithelium can have it ?

I think you by mistake written both alpha beta as VL CL

The light chains are outside the heavy chains..

T-cell receptor for antigen binding alpha and beta chain both is light chain or one is heavy chain and one is light chain?
Drbeen Medical Lectures (3 года назад)
+m.safar Sayedy thank you for your well wishes. Visit drbeen.com for more lectures. Study well!

Why light chain do not have N nucleotide addition during its rearrangement? What is the important of the allelic exclusion in TCR and BCR? and Why MHC do not have Ellelic exclusion? Why MHC I has 6 gene while MHC II has 12 genes?
nicolas Tardiota (3 года назад)
hey bro, light chains are on the outside of the heavy chain

+nicolas Tardiota thank you for the update.

I have seen it

isn't the position of light chains on the outer side and the heavy in the inner side of the antibody molecule? except for that  query, thank you very much. Very clear explanation
93Royston (4 года назад)
ya, true..thanks:-)
Drbeen Medical Lectures (4 года назад)
Yes you are correct. The light chains are depicted on the outer-side. However, in the 3D structure these things are kind of sitting interwoven with heavy chain.

i have looked at your video and i am really confused, you said that the variable region is where the antigen binds and the variable regions are always the same, so do you mean that the different immunoglobulins e.g. IgG,IgA,IgD etc all have the same variable region but each have a different constant region due to different heavy chains. i
Drbeen Medical Lectures (4 года назад)
Variable regions are variable for antigens and there are millions of idiotypes for variable regions. Heavy chains are only a few types. So the immunoglobulin nomenclature is primarily based on variations of the heavy chains.

first time to understand what is the meaning of CDrs
Vince Schwoyxer (4 года назад)
Not sure if it is explained in the next video but TCR is consists of one heavy and one light (but you drawn it as 2 light) and the beta chain is similar to Ig heavy chain and alpha chain is similar to Ig light chain

Thanks so much... I already took immunology but now I see some very simple basic things were left out... Keep it up!

Dr. plz .. why APC are constitutively expressing MHC 2 ? they express it even if there is no pathogen ??!!

thanxxxxxxxxxxxxx doc. u r the best

You are right, the heavy chains should be placed in the interior of the light chains. Just a little detail, it doesn't really ruin the lecture or makes the explanation less efficient. Thank you Dr. Syed, you were very clear!
PUDZ WAO Duterte (1 год назад)
it doesn't makes any difference as it looks like Y chain. you have the actual with light chains to pair.

Dear Dr. Syed I have went through all of your lectures of Immunology, however I am still missing B cell development and maturation lectures. Can you please upload or suggest a good link. I went through Immunobiology, Janeway but I need good videos like yours to better understand the concepts!

your lecture is easy to understand. you made a complex things easy. thank you so much

Thumbs up if you paid school tuition this year to watch Dr. Mobeen Syed's lectures.
Drbeen Medical Lectures (5 лет назад)
Thank you for your note. All nucleated cells express MHC 1 this includes T and B cells. Otherwise these two cell types will become prone to viral attacks without possibility of infection control by immune system.
George Hambarian (5 лет назад)
First of all i would like to thank you for your very clear explanations about the immune system. The Videos were very helpful. I am only left with this one question to which i cannot find an definitive answer. Doe B and T cells als display MHC-I complexes in case they become ill? some scources say B cells have no MHC-1 while other say they do. Same about T cells. This made me confused.
