Thank you so much for sharing! I had my left ovary and filopian tube removed yesterday, due to endometriosis. My incisions are a bit different. I have one in my belly button, but the other two are directly to the left of that one. I have not had pleasure of sneezing yet, but oh it hurts to laugh!

I go today for a vaginal ultrasound, and if they can't find anything they want to do the Laparoscopy.. Fun for me, I just graduated high school and have no insurance🙃 the bill is already at 5,000 ...

Just had this surgery today! I had a cyst on my left ovary the size of a tennis ball removed. And I also have PCOS and Endo. So I have a cluster on my right ovary that they “deflated”. I had all the Endo scraped out of my uterus. I have 4 incisions. Both sides. Pubic bone and right above my belly button which I think is different. I also had an IUD surgically put in and they looked at my tubes and went in vaginally and looked and scraped there too. So I am in quite some pain absolutely. Up watching videos about this stuff haha. I feel your pain! I can’t even get up. I feel useless.

Did you have to take misoprostol before hand (insertion night before)? I've heard it can cause major fever and cramping so I'm hesitant to take it night before....also thanks so much for the info and sharing your experience, it helps!

I am currently recovering from getting a laparoscopy done, I also got my appendix removed at the same time and pus/fluid removed cause a cyst burst. I didn't know I'd have to get the surgery done and didn't know anything about the pain after. The gas pushed on my lungs more than my shoulders and it was honestly the worst pain I've ever felt. I had it done about 5 days ago and I have been on endone but refuse to take it now because I'm honestly so sad and recovering alone in my apartment. It was my first surgery and I'm so exhausted by it all. However from even the first day after surgery besides the nurses helping me the first time, I got myself to the toilet and did stuff alone.

I promise it will get better soon! After about a week, I was up and moving like normal. Wishing you the best!

Hey! I have a Caleb too! We are getting married in May and my second surgery is in June. I had tumors removed 6 years ago but they didn't do anything with the endometriosis because it was so bad. In my lungs etc. But I found a specialist who said he can help me and I will feel much better! I was find for a while but the chronic pain got so bad. I'm happy to have surgery and looking forward to hearing what the doctor says about my future as a mom as well. I hope you heal well! Thank you for sharing your story. Hi puppy!! Haha

I just had my second lap a few days ago. I had my first last October. My first lap was done for a cyst and that surgeon failed to tell me about my severe endometriosis destroying my colon, bladder, and pelvis. She also made very large incisions. My second surgeon was amazing. He placed the incisions in different spots and removed my endo. So now I have a total of 6 surgery scars. I’m recovering good right now. Let’s hope for the best.

I've just had this done 5 days ago and my tummy is still swollen. It's still very uncomfortable to lay down and walking is still wobbly. Fortunately the surgery didn't find any endometriosis but that means that unfortunately I'm unlucky to have really painful periods that cause me to vomit and almost faint.
IHugShortPeople (9 месяцев назад)
Today my OBGYN told me I would have to have this surgery (to remove cysts and possibly an ovary). I think I've cried like 3-4 times about it since then. I am absolutely terrified. I have never had any surgery that was this intensive, only my tonsils and my wisdom teeth. I know that after recovering, my reproductive health will be much better and my fertility will be better, but it is just so scary to me. I don't even know if I'll get to keep my ovary - my doc said they won't know if they have to remove it until they do the surgery. I won't know if I'll get to keep it until the surgery is already over. I wasn't really as concerned about that fact until I saw your feelings about it. Is this something I should be concerned about?

I’m so scared, on Tuesday I go to the doctor to schedule a surgery date. I’m absolutely terrified. My mom is actually going to come fly out for a month to help out and stuff and help take care of me. I know a lot of people do it to have babies and stuff but I’m just in so much pain every time I get my period it’s so crippling. It hurts to have sex, everything just sucks so badly. They tried to Depo Lupron shot on me (for those who don’t know it basically puts you in a faux menopause), which I’m just now coming off of. It’s fucking terrible. Don’t do it. Menopause sucks, absolutely fucking sucks. I’m so terrified of surgery but it’s my only option left which is why I stumbled on this video in the first place....to see what experiences and whatever other people have with it. Any tips would be great.
Julie Hamer (7 месяцев назад)
Hey! No worries, take some time to rest and recover. I do a lot of small workouts and stretching. I had to save up for surgery too. It is expensive. I went on birth control back to back, no stop without periods and it helped a lot! I might ask your doctor about that option. Sometimes it helps the endometriosis stop getting worse. Rest and keep positive! You're not alone.
iam8196 (7 месяцев назад)
Julie Hamer you’re so sweet! I ended up not going through with it. I’m scared and just....idk I mean it sucks to be in menopause (fake or not) at 21, but surgery is just too much for me right now. D: I wish you good luck with yours though!!
iam8196 (7 месяцев назад)
Ayla and Caleb you’re so sweet! I ended up choosing not to go through with it. It isn’t the right time for kids and Lupron seems to be cutting it for me

Lupro sucked! I was on that too. Second surgery in June. I had one 6 years ago. You will be just fine! I promise. Losts of rest, fuzzy blanket, ice cream or any other comfort food, and heating pads! Good luck! You'll be ok. :)

I'm having surgery Monday morning because I've been in so much pain since I started having periods and I'm 21 but the last 3 years have been terrible and has gotten a lot worse so my doctor and I decided it would be best to have the surgery just to see what exactly is going on. Im really excited and only because I'll have answers but also super nervous because this is my first surgery!!

i was just diagnosed with Endometriosis and i have to get this done in January, does this surgery affect having kids at all (just wondering)?
Julia Taylor (1 год назад)
Ayla and Caleb Okay, thank you so much!
Ayla and Caleb (1 год назад)
+Julia Taylor I got it in the hopes to improve my chances of fertility because the endometriosis was affecting me negatively. If you still have one ovary after the surgery, then that ovary kind of "picks up" the work and continues to ovulate. It should be a good thing for your body moving forward!

My doctors think I have endometriosis (I certainly have the pain/bloating/bleeding symptoms) and after what seems like forever on waiting lists I am finally booked for my surgery for the 16th of June! I am so nervous and hence am doing allll the research about it. I have to defer a uni exam to have it done which is a huge bummer, but I think sitting an exam the next morning would not be a wise idea hahah. These videos are so comforting to me so thank you so much for sharing this! I am so hopeful that this helps me live without the pain!

A bit about myself... I'm 35 and never have been able to get pregnant. I have always had horrible periods. Pain so bad that the only thing that would help was to take a HOT bath. I've often spoke of and wondered if I have endometriosis but Drs didn't care. Gyno after gyno always blew it off. Here you have pmdd, take this. Here take these bc pills they'll help. Here take these it'll stop your period. You should be put on antidepressants 😧😧🖕🖕 I always said no I haven't had a period since Nov of last yr. So after hearing all kinds of stupid stuff from my gyno I said I'd like an ultrasound. In March I had ultrasounds done, my gyno calls and says well you have a benign polyp other than that everything is okay blah blah blah and that was that. So as soon as I hung up I called a different Dr. I thank God that I did. I finally found the perfect Dr!!! After everything was transferred over they took charge! brought up about how thick my lining is and so on. Well.... I just had a d&c to get the polyp and laparoscopy done on May 3rd (My bday 😒) I had an allergic reaction to ancef, the iv antibiotic when I was under. they said I broke out in hives all over and they had to open my airway. Per my Dr it is a lot worse than first thought. My sister told me when the Dr was in talking to her, she had goosebumps. it's that bad?? 🤢 My one ovary and uterer were completely impacted in tissue so she got them out. My ovary was able to be saved 🤗 I have to go back in 3-4 months for another 3 hr surgery to get the rest. So we'll see how this goes...

My scars are about 2 and half inches on under my belly I also have 3 more about one inch mines a lot bigger than yours they said I should be recovered in a few weeks I was diagnosed with PCOS but my doctor doesn't know now if it is in fact PCOS so I'm know in a few days what that cysts name is.
Rikku Final Fantasy X2 (1 год назад)
My 2nd surgery the shoulder pain was bad then my 3rd surgery no gas only burped I had bad Nashua my 2nd surgery was the worst eggplant size cyst on my right ovarie which they saved it thank god since they took my left ovarie out in my 3rd surgery but I told them my 3rd surgery they gave me something better. Ahh tremadal sucks I took it when I broke my finger it doesn't help. They gave me hydrocodone with Tylenol for my 3rd surgery. I have the weirdest food cravings since my surgery for them to remove my left overie and tube it was swollen they said I had a cyst inside it which was in layers not sure the diagnoses of what it is called yet but I'm going to know in a few days what it was that was growing inside my overie.

Thank you for sharing your journey with surgery. I was diagnosed with endometriosis while living abroad. I don't want the surgery, but it seems to be the best option considering I have two ovarian cysts (one which has doubled in size in two years). I also have access to a top hospital in the country. Your video gives me some courage. Now... if only I understood enough Japanese to know what all the papers are saying! Also... really missing my family. Being in the hospital in a foreign country on Christmas seems like such a bad situation.... but I'll try to stay positive.

+Amusegirl1980 I'm so glad hun! There are girls on Nancy Nook that's with endo specialists and tried them out in the NHS in your country, so they would be dears to help you get to the right one! I didn't know you were from there, the ladies have told us that the doctors claiming to be specialists have no clue how to properly treat them. One doctor even removed a woman's very healthy thyroid... I was shocked. Aw I'm glad that I have given you hope 😊. I remember when I just started researching it after my first failed laparoscopic surgery how unbelievably devastated I was when the pain returned 4 months post surgery. Had ablation done. Then another doctor did ablation on me, which failed again. I've pushed for 3 years now to get excision surgery, and it's finally happening on MONDAY! I am not looking forward to the extended recovery time (up to 3 months) BUT I am excited to take my life back and kick this disease in the mouth 😊
Amusegirl1980 (1 месяц назад)
+Andra Karsten Thank you so much. I will reply respectfully tomorrow. You've given me new hope. You would not believe how much I've already fought. I am in the UK on the NHS. X
Andra Karsten (1 месяц назад)
+Amusegirl1980 Depo doesn't help. Lupron doesn't help. Endometriosis is not a disease of the womb. Uneducated doctors tell you it is cells from your uterus migrating to other parts in your body. This has been debunked. It is cells LIKE the lining of your uterus that spontaneously start growing in your body, which makes doctors who are specialized in endometriosis say it is a autoimmune disease. The ONLY golden standard for endo is excision surgery. No offense, but if a hysto cured your friends then they had Adenomyosis, endo in the uterine muscle, and not endometriosis. I didn't mean to make you sound stupid, or anything like that. I sincerely mean it when I say RUN. If a doctor talks about hormone treatment, Mirena, depo, Lupron, hystorectomy or getting pregnant will fix it, RUN. They are stuck in the 1900's with that mentality. If you want up dated research on endo joing the Nancy Nook Facebook page. They have a list of doctors that they have vetted with the help of a endo specialist to treat endometriosis. Excision surgery is the best treatment, if you get it recurrence is 5% chance. The best endo specialist in my opinion is Dr Dulemba in America. You can find him on Facebook as well. Hystorectomy only gets rid of your pain for a while and then you are right back where you started. If heavy bleeding is the only symptom bothering you, sure, get a hysto. That will improve life. But for the daily pain... It will help temporarily because they take care of the endo while you have a hysto. When it grows back... The same doctor that told you the hysto will cure you will refer you to a psychiatrist and tell you the pain is in your head. No women deserve that, and we are struggling with 10 000's of women complaining after a hysto. I am seriously concerned about the world's medical staff. WE have to educate ourselves to avoid years of pain and suffering. We have to stand up against this malpractice.
Amusegirl1980 (1 месяц назад)
+Andra Karsten Can you explain why and help rather than trying to make me sound stupid? I know 3 women whose Endometriosis disappeared after full hysterectomy. I know 4 women trying depo and other injections to no avail. I am down to one ovary now, Mirena and injection and still suffering.
Andra Karsten (1 месяц назад)
+Amusegirl1980 a full hystorectomy does not cure endo.. Get a new doctor. Run.

This helps me a bit. I just turned 40 and been struggling with this crap disease since my first period, at twelve. Had many LAPS and my uterus removed, due to an endometriomas. I had my first laparoscopic surgery in 2000. The doctor left so much air in that I was constantly sick and ended up in the hospital a week later. I had an ovary removed in 2009. I don't really remember what the postoperative period was like as far as pain and mobility were concerned. Back then I was with someone who took care of me afterwards. I'm having my other ovary removed on the 26th. I'm worried about it because this time I have nobody to help me. Well, anyway, that's what's going on here.

Dogs are amazing therapists. My dog was my best comforter after my miscarriage in October 2013 and my subsequent diagnosis with PCOS. My husband and I have not been actively trying to conceive ever since. We decided to take childlessness as a blessing. I mean, even if we did get pregnant, we would take THAT as a blessing. We decided to take whatever is given to us as a blessing, and that gives us so much comfort. As long as we have each other (because we are each other's best friend) we are fine. And I sincerely hope you could find peace with your situation as well. Hugs and blessings to you and Caleb!

I have pcos, I have also had a lap surgery done, I had my gallbladder out a few years ago which resulted in similar 3 scars. We are currently waiting to find out if it's my pcos or him or both causing our infertility...and I'm so happy you are recovering well!

I had the same surgery 8 yrs ago. I was in and out same day too! They took my left ovary so I only have my right ovary. What ovary did they take from you? And you can still get pregnant with one ovary! :) Plus, you are way younger than me. I am 42 trying for my first. I was told my only option was donor eggs due to my low AMH and of course age. I was actually diagnosed with Age Factor Infertility. But I do believe I have one good egg in me to make this baby naturally. I have faith in God and I know he hears my prayers. Don't lose hope and just keep praying and believing. We will all be mommy's very soon :)

Glad to see you're recovering well! Things can only continue to get better from here. I had the same type of surgery close to 10 years ago. They were able to save my ovary but it came at a price. Looking back I think having it removed would have made our TTC journey go a lot better. Thankfully we are 14 weeks now, but it took a lot of work and heartache to get where we are now. I'm sure you fully understand though. ;-) Praying this next IVF goes very well for you guys...you've certainly been through enough already!

Hey Ayla! I actually had a tube and stage 4 endometriosis removed in January...I then went and did IVF in March (at the RFP).  I actually had the surgery Jan 6 and 6 weeks later I started the BCP. Unfortunately it just wasn't our time.  We are going to be doing another round soonish, the doctor advised us that we are working against time with the endo.  I am sure that one day you will be parents, you just have to trust the journey.  I truly believe that everything works out for a reason, it may not be fair or easy, but in the end it was what was meant to happen. I wish you and Caleb the best of luck!
Ayla and Caleb (2 года назад)
I'm sorry to hear that, but glad to hear that you are going to keep trying! Endo is one of those things that just sticks by you and makes everything more difficult, I have come to realize. I am wishing you the best and thank you for sharing your story :)
I'm Ready Already (2 года назад)
I had back to back laps last year too., woke up from the first one to find out I needed a second to take out my tubes.. It's a weird thing, even though you know that your tube/ovary is useless, and you're no less fertile, in fact you're.mire likely to conceive, it still feels like a loss. I've got stage IV Endo and severe adenomyosis, the Endo has beaten up up my ovaries pretty badly, so I've got the added fun of diminished ovarian reserve. Glad you're feeling better, for me it took about two weeks before I was fully back to normal. Random fun fact of the day: the gas doesn't actually migrate to your shoulder, it hits your diaphramatic nerve causing referred pain from your diaphragm.
Ayla and Caleb (2 года назад)
Wow, I'm noticing more and more that this really is a common thing! But, I get you on the feeling of loss even though you know it's for the best. Here's to hoping we can prove ourselves right! Fx!

As long as you are going to do everythink whatever it takes to be a mom (wich I trully understand, Im on the same boat) go and tryb NaProtechnology. It's crazy how amazing this method is. All focus about tests and pure knowledge of your body. Not so demanding like IVF.
Wiola Łysiak-Bundzylak (2 года назад)
<3 me too! please let me know how it goes. I'm from Poland, and NaProTECHNOLOGY® i Creighton Model FertilityCare System™ is a correct name of the method. Many of my friends attend that, an it really helps, because it's not only stimulating ovaries, insemination or tomething connected with ivf. The effect is not only the pregnancy, but care about women health and then better quality of life. Hope so!

Hi Ayla.... I don't usually give lots of details about my medical history but you said you are interested so here goes: When I was about 22 I was working - had a fall and from then on I had extreme back pain and would wake up every morning about 1am and vomit and not stop, then have to go into work starting at 5am (exhausted). I went to see my GP and he would give me different medication and then the same thing would happen, this went on for 2 and a bit months during that time I would go to the ER etc. Eventually one night it got so bad they admitted me. I had nothing left in my tummy and was only vomiting bile for the longest time. They tried all sorts of drugs to stop the vomiting, but NOTHING worked. They decided to put a nasal - Gastric tube in.... I continued vomiting even with the tube in but it did help a bit. They then put a catheter in. They then sent me to get x-rays and an ultra sound (no pain medication yet) I was still vomiting while getting those procedures done. I ended up with a black stomach (bruised) from my chest to my pelvic bone. I was in intense pain. They finally found out I had pancreatitis which can be fatal. Because of the amount of vomiting I had been doing my whole insides were inflamed and rupturing. They could only treat me with morphine for pain until it settled down. I was nil by mouth for 14 days. I ended up having several "operations" 3 endoscopy's and they removed some things that had been too damaged - (Gall bladder etc). So i have the 3 scars as well, except my scars are at the top of me instead towards the lower part (like yours). My largest scar is between the breasts, then 1 to the right and one in the belly button. I still remember the intense pain and the doctors would tell me I was experiencing one of the worst pains possible - that didn't make me feel any better. There was allot more to the story - Maybe one day I will tell my story on you tube. Since then I have found out I have PCOS, I have experienced 1 natural pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks. I no longer have a partner (at this stage) and am probably too old now to ever have a child naturally. I know how you feel about the desire to be a mum - I had that as well but I have lost hope as I am now 40 yrs old. I think you are very lucky to have someone by your side all the way. You have been through allot and it's not over yet, but you are young and time is on your side. Good luck :) (sorry this is sooo long)

Good Evening Ayla.. Sorry its kinda long........ I have actually had Laparoscopic surgery twice. The first time I had it done was repair my prolapsed uterus that I had from having kids prior. That one was done in 2012 it was originally gonna be to removed my uterus but I choose to op out since I was still was over 30. Well I am no longer with my older kids father and I have been with my partner for 5 years, we choose to add to our crazy world with another kid but for about the pass 3 years we had no success. I was referred to the fertility clinic by my doctor and the test began. I just had my last one done Sept of last year to find out if my tubes was blocked or anything else going on.. Well I had lots of scar tissue removed but still not diagnosed with anything, I also had to get my fallopian tube( that was connected to my gal bladder) re-positioned to where it belonged. Earlier this year we did our first cycle of IVF, fresh transfer was negative and we are now in the process of doing a frozen transfer scheduled for July. I also do youtube videos, Please subscribe and watch our journey. Thanks in Advance

I've had a dozen or so laparoscopic procedures for my endometriosis and PCOS. and each one has gotten worse.. They eventually had to move away from using the same incisions .. I had stage 4 endometriosis and PCOS so I had to have these types of surgeries often or I was in lots of pain because mine was spreading to the bowel and bladder as well. BUT. After one of my Laps I rushed into a IVF and brought home a baby boy so I have hope for you and Caleb.... Baby dust sent your way.....

Your welcome... I am a open book .. So many times women don't share their stories and it can help so many... My first IVF was in 2006 and my second was in 2013.. To keep my endometriosis under control between then was a bit crazy because when your TTC it runs wild.... But I had to take breaks and have surgeries to clean me out and go on Lupron to shut things down for awhile..... I have lots of hope for you and Caleb :) ❤️🙏🏻 just know that it's always good to have a plan for endometriosis in advance so your not caught off guard

I know how you feel about the desire to be a mommy and how it consumes you. This week has been especially hard for me. I ran across this several months ago online and wanted to share. We just gotta keep moving forward… “There are women that become mothers without effort, without thought, without patience or loss and though they are good mothers and love their children, I know that I will be better. I will be better not because of genetics, or money, or that I have read more books but because I have struggled and toiled for this child. I have longed and waited. I have cried and prayed. I have endured and planned over and over again. Like most things in life, the people who truly have appreciation are those who have struggled to attain their dreams. I will notice everything about my child. I will take time to watch my child sleep, explore and discover. I will marvel at this miracle every day for the rest of my life. I will be happy when I wake in the middle of the night to the sound of my child, knowing that I can comfort, hold and feed him and that I am not waking to take another temperature, pop another pill, take another shot or cry tears of a broken dream. My dream will be crying for me. I count myself lucky in this sense; that God has given me this insight, this special vision with which I will look upon my child that my friends will not see. Whether I parent a child I actually give birth to or a child that God leads me to, I will not be careless with my love. I will be a better mother for all that I have endured. I am a better wife, a better aunt, a better daughter, neighbor, friend and sister because I have known pain. I know disillusionment as I have been betrayed by my own body. I have been tried by fire and hell many never face, yet given time, I stood tall. I have prevailed. I have succeeded. I have won. So now, when others hurt around me, I do not run from their pain in order to save myself discomfort. I see it, mourn it, and join them in theirs. I listen. And even though I cannot make it better, I can make it less lonely. I have learned the immense power of another hand holding tight to mine, of other eyes that moisten as they learn to accept the harsh truth and when life is beyond hard. I have learned a compassion that only comes with walking in those shoes. I have learned to appreciate life. Yes, I will be a wonderful mother.” *HUGS* ~ Ashley in Nebraska :)

I had laparoscopic ovarian drilling surgery last September for PCOS. The gas pain was definitely the worst part of it! The only relief I got was when I would lay down with heating pads on my neck and shoulders. I was about 75% back to myself after a week and 100% after 2 weeks. Got pregnant 6 months later and currently 14 weeks! :) The nausea and vomiting this first trimester has been absolutely brutal (like way worse than the laparoscopy recovery). But it's obviously all worth it! Anything to get our babies here, right? ;) Wishing you the easiest recovery and the best of luck on your next IVF cycle!!! Praying this is the end of your infertility journey!!!

I haven't had any surgery like this at all. I think it was interesting to learn about this surgery should the situation arise. Currently I have been diagnosed with thyroid disease and as of April/May I a stable on dose of medication I am on. We have had eight failed rounds of Clomid and given my diagnosis of anovulation and husbands semen(morphology) issues its time to begin being seen by a infertility specialist. We have been trying for four years. We fortunately live within twenty or so minutes of our infertility clinic. I have had a ovarian reserve test done and surprisingly my numbers seemed medium high which means my ovary is working over time and possibly may hav pcos. So we have a appointment with our infertility specialist July 21st to get me checked out and start seeing what it means treatment wise for us. We don't have money right now for IVF, but we at least want to find out my potential pcos diagnosis and get it controlled and what treatment is best for our situation.

+Ayla and Caleb Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so thankful for my awesome medicinal team that we are getting together. I have heard good things about our new doctor and her team, plus my midwife and nurse practitioner have been so thorough and supportive! I agree! Knowing for sure what you're dealing helps with cost and planning.
Ayla and Caleb (2 года назад)
It sounds like you're on the right track! I think it's definitely important to figure out what you're dealing with and how to "fix" it before getting started on treatments. I wish so bad that we knew more about my diagnosis before spending all our money on IVF last year. But, I am excited for this upcoming round! I am hoping that your journey will progress quickly and you can get that little sweet baby in your arms soon :) Thanks for sharing!

I had laparoscopic surgery in November last year to find out why we hadn't conceived for a year following our first miscarriage. Turned out my tubes had become damaged after the D&C surgery from the miscarriage. For me, the pain from the gas in the shoulders was much worse than the procedure!! It was horrendous!! I also had a sneezing fit a day or so after surgury which was just excruciating! It's great you're doing well :) Looking forward to you starting IVF- I just had a 5 day embryo transfer yesterday, & I'm doing my best to stay positive! It's not an easy road, but I'm certain we will become the mothers we so desperately yearn to be <3

I was diagnosed with endometriosis ten years ago (aged 16). I totally get where you're coming from in relation to the shoulder tip pain - owwieeee! I'm a midwife in the UK, and feel my calling in life is to be a mother and help other people become mothers. Isn't she?!?!? Good question! There are a couple steps I think we would try first, like embryo adoption (so that I can experience pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding..) But, adoption is something we definitely want to do at some point in our life. We have always thought it would be great a little more down the road. But, saying all that.. We are basically going to continue on with whatever means necessary to make us a family and adoption is definitely one of those options. Thanks!
