Blocked Tubes: How to Avoid IVF and Surgery| Fertility Expert Dr. Randy Morris

997 ratings | 103165 views
Dr Randy Morris MD-The BOARD CERTIFIED fertility expert with weekly TTC tips on InfertilityTV Blocked Tubes If both of your fallopian tubes are blocked, then getting pregnant on your own is impossible. IVF is a highly successful treatment option for blocked tubes but it can be expensive if you don’t have insurance coverage and it doesn't correct the underlying problem. At IVF1, we can fix some types of blocked tubes WITHOUT the need for surgery. First, there are three types of blocked tubes. Distal blockage occurs at the end of the fallopian tube farthest away from the uterus. Distal blockage cannot be fixed without surgery. Some women have a blockage that is due to previous surgery on the fallopian tube. For example, a previous surgery to tie the tubes or for a tubal pregnancy. This type of blockage can also not be fixed without surgery. Finally, there is proximal obstruction. This is a blockage that occurs at the beginning of the tube, the part that is closest to the uterus. To fix a proximal blockage without surgery, we use x-ray. First, a standard HSG is performed, If the blockage is confirmed, then a second, smaller catheter is threaded through the first catheter and into the fallopian tube opening. The HSG dye can then be injected directly into the tube opening. Often, this is sufficient to remove a blockage. If that doesn't work, the final step is to thread a wire through the catheter to dislodge the blockage. That’s it! The whole process lasts just a few minutes, there are no incisions and you go home in 5-10 minutes. The discomfort level is minimal. This technique may not work for everybody but if you are looking to avoid IVF or surgery, it is worth a few minutes to give it a try. Hey doctor hope you are well. Infertility is very hard to go through. I have been through this pain. Tubal damage is very painful. It seriously effects everything. Will definitely try your formula. Hope everything goes good
katherine milakovic (5 days ago)
Infertility is a curse. Blocked tubes are an added misery. Tubal damage makes it so difficult to even choose between treatment options. People should act upon your mentioned formula. I hope it works for them.I have learned alot from it and hope others can benefit themselves from watching this video.

Hi Dr, hope you are doing fine. Infertility is a curse. Blocked tubes add to ones misery. I had faced this issue. Tubal damage makes it so difficult to even choose between treatment options. I ll try to act upon your mentioned formula. I hope it works.

How much does the hsg and method to unblock the proximal blockage cost? My insurance does not cover infertility treatments. I had TR match 2016. June 2017 told both tubes had proximal blockage
Infertility TV (18 days ago)
Please contact the office directly at 630-357-6540 for pricing info. However, if your tubes are blocked because of a failed tubal re-anastamosis then selective salpingography and wire guide is unlikely to be successful at getting your tubes open

hi doc this is cherry from phils,my tube is cut and tie, could it be possible to fix it again without surgery,my husband wants me to get pregnant again, how much is cost?
Infertility TV (1 month ago)
It is not possible to fix a cut and tied tube without surgery. IVF is another option for getting pregnant, however.

Hi Doc I recently had a Laparoscopy done. Both my tubes were blocked and I have a mild case of endometriosis, which my surgeon took care of during the procedure. My doctor was able to flash out my right Fallopian tube but my left tube is still blocked. What are my chances of conceiving. I went and saw a fertility doctor, he said most likely my right Fallopian tube closed again within the 10 days after my surgery. How true is this statement? Thank you
Infertility TV (1 month ago)
Fallopian tubes can become blocked again after surgery - I don't know of any data regarding the 10 days part.
Lauraqueen F (2 months ago)
I went for an ultrasound, I was told my tubes look okay there was not fibroid, endometriosis or plops but he said my Fallopian tube looks vascular but he never explains what it meant. Can you tell mr what if mean if you know. Thanks
Lauraqueen F (1 month ago)
Infertility TV thanks for reply, my d Gp said the same thing, just took him too long to give his feedback x
Infertility TV (1 month ago)
Vascular refers to the blood vessels that were seen around the tube. As far as I know, this is not a factor which is related to infertility

Infertility TV (9 months ago)
Women who have bipolar obstruction will generally need IVF to conceive
Dianitha Falcon (9 months ago)
Is my only option IVF?
Infertility TV (9 months ago)
Bipolar obstruction is when the proximal AND distal ends of the fallopian tubes are blocked. Tubal catheterization can only open a proximal blockage

hi Sir, Gm. Sir i have endometriosis problem and so that my both fallopian tubes are blocked. Sir pls help me for this problem. My contact number is 9167180749
Infertility TV (9 months ago)
Fill of the fallopian tubes without spill is something that is seen in women with distal obstruction. Tubal catheterization cannot open a tube with distal blockage
Rajeshree Sakhare (9 months ago)
Dear sir Gm. I done my Hsg. My report is both tube R well seen except for distal portion of left tube. No spill on either side. Then what can I do. Pls help me.
Infertility TV (9 months ago)
If you have a proximal blockage then you might be a candidate for tubal catheterization!

hi doctor, our doctor told me the tubes are blocked, probably the fibroid is resting on the tubes, refering i v f, pls advise me
Infertility TV (10 months ago)
There are some cases in which a fibroid may be causing compression which results on blockage of a fallopian tube. However, it would be pretty unlikely that BOTH tubes are blocked since the tubes are on opposite sides of the uterus. If a fibroid is causing blockage, surgery can be performed in an attempt to unblock fallopian tubes. Even if only one tube is open, it is still possible to get pregnant without IVF

Carlos Mack (1 year ago)
My wife is having trouble getting pregnant we have been trying for two years. We tried 4 iui cycles and they all failed. She took an hsg test and passed it, but he thinks that scar tissue around the fallopian tubes could be the cause of her not being able to get pregnant, the sperm samples from the iui were great. He is now suggesting that we do ivf, is there any other way you think she could get pregnant?
Infertility TV (1 year ago)
If her tubes are open, then there is a chance. The problem with scar tissue is that its hard to diagnose. However, have her discuss with her doctor the possibility of doing a laparoscopy to look for and treat scar tissue http://www.ivf1.com/laparoscopy-infertility/
Franchesca Rodriguez (1 year ago)
Funny how he says that the pain is minimum but is nottttttt 😡😡😡😡it is very painful especially if the doctor try the bigger catheter to unblock the fallopian tube, also the pressure is very Uncomfortable
Infertility TV (1 year ago)
We have had many patients who have had their HSGs elsewhere (usually the radiology department at a hospital) who have complained about discomfort during the procedure. When those same patients have their HSGs repeated at our center, they almost always say that the procedure was much easier. Typically they say they feel some cramps that are usually less than what they experience during a period. This is especially true with blocked tubes. Some doctors try to "force" the tubes open by increasing the pressure they inject the fluid with - this will cause discomfort. With the use of selective catheters and wires to open tubes, you avoid that and so it is much easier. With proper preparation and technique the HSG can be an easy procedure for most!

today my doctor told me that i have two cystic structures, one in each adnexa. The right side seems more like an ovarian cyst and the left seems more like hydrosalpinx, but could also be bilateral hydrosalinx or bilateral ovarian cyst. doctor told me to come for checkup after i have my periods. I am just 20 years old and i am very much worried because of possibility of being infertile...please doctor suggest me something! i am very much worried...Thank you!
redrum6789 (3 months ago)
ushma sigdel research serrapeptase.
Randy Morris (1 year ago)
can't really comment on a complicated case like this. All I would suggest is that you need to have a diagnosis made one way or the other. Is it ovarian cyst? is it hydrosalpinx? is it both? You need to get to the bottom of that

hi i had a tubal reversal in 2014 and after hsg exam they remained blocked i had ivf 2 times fresh and frozen but was unsuccessful. Can I do another HSG to try again. thanks
Infertility TV (1 year ago)
If a patient thinks that the HSG may be in error, it is reasonable to repeat it. I dont expect tubes that are blocked from surgery to open up on their own. Women have also tried to have a repeat attempt at reversal though the success rates will probably be low
Vikas Upadhyay (1 year ago)
sir ji there is no medicine that could open block tubes
Antoinette Jolie - Madame Sade yes ma'am it does!
Serrapeptase works. Look Into it
I healed myself naturally from bilateral hydrosalpinx and so have many other women I am assisting. All due respect Doctor, but yes, the fallopian tubes CAN be healed naturally. There is no scientific or clinical evidence that I know of...but there is plenty anecdotal evidence.

sir my wife has bilateral fimbrial block please tell me . what should I do
Infertility TV (1 year ago)
The best option for distal tubal obstruction is to remove the fallopian tubes and perform IVF. If this is not possible, then surgery to try to open the tubes can be performed but the chance for success is going to be lower and the risk for ectopic pregnancy is going to be higher

Infertility TV (1 year ago)
There are a number of circumstances in which the dye may fail to go through the tubes OTHER than tubal blockage. Again, if a woman gets pregnant on her own - her tubes are NOT blocked. Sorry we don't know any docs in the U.K. Have you tried Bourne Hall?

Sara, we dont know the specifics of your case but in general, if a woman is able to get pregnant without IVF, then her tubes are not blocked. This type of treatment will not help in a situation like that

Try serrapaptase read up on natural ways to unblock your tubes. I was also told both of my tubes are blocked after having them open after tubal reversal yes later they end up closing just read upon this natural enzyme you may not need ivf even though this takes away from the doctors doing ivf n other fertility treatments and it may work and it may not but at least give it a try what u have to lose 20000.
