It began as charismatic preacher Jim Jones’ attempt to build a socialist utopia, but it ended with the deaths of more than 900 people in a remote settlement in Guyana known as Jonestown. NBC’s Joe Fryer reports the second installment of TODAY’s “Cults & Crimes” series.

Jonestown Mass Suicide: Revisiting The Cult That Ended With The Deaths Of 900 | TODAY
This new so-called religion is nothing but a pack of weird rituals and chants designed to take away the money of fools. Now let's say the Lord's Prayer 40 times, but first let's pass the collection plate.
Socialism and all bastardized forms of it breed the weak mentalities that empower monsters like this.
Almost all cult leaders use socialism in one form, or another to instill control over their subjects.
Socialism, attracts weakness and stupidity, manipulating both into tools of slavery.
Socialist, like to call it equality, but in reality it’s all equalized slavery.
Once the delusions of socialized make believe, are stripped away. It’s all nothing, but equalized enslavement.
Stupidity, is the most dangerous weapon in the world that is always underestimated.
Stupidity, will always outnumbers sense.
Socialism, empowers and weaponizes stupidity.
Thats why dictators, cult leaders and certain politicians love it so much.
Mass stupidity, holds the keys to great power when one can control it.
Jim Jones played on the racism and hatred in U.S society towards black people. This is why the majority of the death were African Americans. His religious collectivism was build on top-down Stalinist methods, with himself as Supreme Leader.
Would anyone be so nice to give a quick summary of alternative religions, and what separates them from Christianity and other big religions? It's for a school project and I notice some smartasses in the comment section haha
a couple questions for you to ponder on since you have done "extensive research" on the subject. What year was the Peoples Temple founded? What was the primary goal of the Peoples Temple? And why did the Government classify Martin Luther King as a communist? Lastly, when was the civil rights bill passed? Link all of this together and you will see a different scenario.
I watched a video a few days ago of what Jonestown looks like today. As interesting as it was, I know I'd be totally creeped out if I ever went there, but with my morbid curiosity, I know I'd visit the area if I had the opportunity. I would want to plant flowers or something in honor of all who died. I was 12 when this happened (in my 50's now), and the impact I felt at that young age is still almost as strong today when I think about it or watch these youtube videos. It was an awful, awful event. God love all those people...I hope they are all resting in peace.
If America isn't careful this is where we're headed. Not necessarily the suicide but the mindlessness of listening to people who promise a socialist Haven for all. SJWs are a perfect example of the sheeple that Jones led. Wanting to belong and wanting to make an unnecessary change to a society they believe is out to get them. They would rather die and fight a system designed to let them use their voices to change the system. Listening to single agenda news outlets and allowing these manipulative innately evil personas how and what they think without batting an eye. But who can really blame them honestly? In a growing world where you become more and more minute you want to feel like you're making a difference and fighting for what you think could change the world. I mean jobs will eventually deplete and resources will one day in a distant future become extremely scarce. But that's just my take on it. I'm calling it here and now there will be another Jim Jones and he/she is already starting a following to lead them to a similar end of Jonestown. I was never more proven right about this than the Kavanaugh hearing in which a man was shamed and ruined by the sheeple and then provided facts and evidence to support himself only to be again undone by the media only believing in hearsay. Only hating the man based on what they were told. Again just what I think and I could be wrong but Jim Jones pt.2 is coming mark my words
A religious nutjob, Jones is like every other end of the world preacher and cult. Here's a concept. Read something other than your bible, become educated, and protect yourself from charlatans like Jim Jones.
The CIA conducted drug experiments with his unsuspecting flock in Guyana, they would put it in the biscuits, see the book on this by michael miers. The Central Intelligence Agency employed the Reverend Jim Jones to administer a pharmaceutical field test in mind control and ethnic weaponry to a large test group, namely the membership of the Peoples Temple.
I was born the day this happened, and I'll be 40 on November the 18th, 2018. I always thought Jim Jones was black, then an Elvis impersonator. I want to know more about this. There is a special on Abc on it Friday, of this week.
No surprise, the assumption made in the media is that Jones & his followers where Christian, when they were indeed proud atheists & proud communists. There's ample evidence for this, but never seems to find its way in mainstream reporting. SEE SOURCES BELOW
"Wrapped up in that notion was a philosophy that cut a fine line between atheism - the belief in no God - and religious view Jones expressed in his earliest tracts - that God is simply the force of goodness and love in each person." p. 74 - Raven: The Untold Story of Rev. Jim Jones and His People by Tim and John Jacobs; Google Books
"We are not religious, we are atheist, as all dialectic materialists are, as all Marxist-Leninists must be.
...but the establishment was clever enough to have it on Sunday, and of course, that’s the religion which is the opiate of the people, that’s why we are all atheist." - Jim Jones, Tape Number: Q-887 at the Jonestown Institute (Jonestown Audiotape Primary Project)
"such as the fact that Jim Jones was not a religious fanatic who turned to socialism, but rather a socialist (and an atheist no less)" - Peoples Temple - An Ideological Voyage by Stephen Brown
As an actual Guyanese here, it disappoints me this is always the second thing that comes up in conversations with foreigners.. Shame our government never did anything for preservation. Most you’ll see in the area now is probably the remains of the tractor used in the attack on the plane, and in 2003 they found a piano and the old cassava mill
Jim Jones was right.
Better to die in a beautiful jungle then to live in the ..... HOLE called the United States.
Jim Jones just saw it for what it really is.
99% of the people being used and abused and sexually abused and murdered by 1% Freemasons-Zionists and the Rothschild banker.
Jim Jones liberated 900 Americans from that misery.
Well done Jim Jones!
I am from Guyana and i also still live here, trust me when i say this.... Jonestown is now fully covered in bushes and dense jungle but the trail tracks are still there and as soon as you enter that region you can literally feel death, much like a horror film. The entire place feels like something is pulling you down to the ground. We did some surveying work there and had to overnight...I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THAT PLACE.
There is still the signboard at the starting point that says Jonestown and the famous quote
'Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it'
+Dog Groomer yes i understand.. if you ever wanna come you can email me and i can make some arrangements for you.
The location is only accessible by plane then pickup so it's not easy getting there. I must say though,my country is beautiful... even around that area, so don't let this event deter you. Email me whenever you are interested
P.S if you decide on coming on your own, please do contact trustworthy people... my country is beautiful but like every other country, there are evil opportunists...
I watched a video a few days ago of what Jonestown looks like today. It looks just as you described. As interesting as it (the video) was, I know I'd be totally creeped out if I ever went there, but with my morbid curiosity, I know I'd visit the area if I had the opportunity. I would want to plant flowers or something in honor of all who died. I was 12 when this happened (in my 50's now), and the impact I felt at that young age is still almost as strong today when I think about it or watch these youtube videos. It was an awful, awful event. God love all those people...I hope they are all resting in peace.
The class of drugs that Levitra, Viagra, Stendra, and Cialis belong to are called PDE5 inhibitors. They work by relaxing tight blood vessels, allowing more blood to surge into the penis and cause an erection, says Gregory Bales, M.D., an associate professor of urology at the University of Chicago.
The little pills do the trick for more than two-thirds of men with Viagra protects the heart (ED). They also work for guys who simply need them for a short time to get their “confidence back,” says Michael Eisenberg, M.D., director of male reproductive medicine and surgery at Stanford University.
