In case you didn't know, not only are narwhals real, they're rad. Hank shares some little known facts about one of the least understood sea mammals, including some insights into why they're so hard to study, and what that big thing on its face is for!

Why Do Narwhals Die In Captivity? It's because a Narwhal has a type of "Anxiety" when it has contact with humans. So they probably Drown themselves... Or idk how they kill themselves... But the anxiety part is real.
My middle school Science teacher tried to tell me, even argued with me that Narwhals and Okapis weren’t real. She also flipped out and screamed at me for using a sewing needle. Literally grabbed it from me, then held it in my face and yelled “THIS IS A KNIFE”.
Everyone was starring at her and when she dragged me to the vice principal’s office, he gave this “Why did you waste my time with this?” look.
If they're whales, they're probably intelligent enough for us to be disturbed when they die. Presumably, there was more than one Narwhal death before it was concluded that they couldn't be kept in captivity. And that calls into question the ethics of attempting to keep animals in captivity. Also if you get a hankering for Narwhal meat... maybe just eat hazelnuts? You know, since nuts can't experience fear? I'm not a total vegetarian, but I feel like sea mammals should make the the cut-off when delineating what's okay to kill and what's not.
They we're actually genetically engineered by the Gallic tribes to kidnap and impersonate the Roman Senate, eventually leading to them going all stabby stab on the best salad dressing around. Later, they were used by Al Qaeda to fly to NYC and stab the world trade center. This caused a small fission reaction in their tooth horn thing, which generated the heat to melt the steel beams. Governments around the world today still use narwhals to spy on other nation's by impersonating and assassinating our reptilian overlords.
actually dolphins don't do very well in captivity. don't get me wrong, I am pointing this out because we should try harder! and the misconception that they're just fine is making us complacent when we should be building bigger and more realistic tanks. or at least trying to.
So how do female narwhals cope with freezing ice if only some of them have the tusk? I have a feeling that even if the tusk is a useful sensory organ, it's not actually that important or necessary for the whales.
I'd heard of them a few times through my life, but never in science or textbooks. Only things like the movie elf, and this multicolored narwhal hat that my friend had. I just assumed until I was 21 that they were mythological, as did many others. Some people are shocked that people don't know this but narwhals aren't exactly part of most schools curriculums and they're illusive enough that they're rarely talked about.
The class of drugs that Levitra, Viagra, Stendra, and Cialis belong to are called PDE5 inhibitors. They work by relaxing tight blood vessels, allowing more blood to surge into the penis and cause an erection, says Gregory Bales, M.D., an associate professor of urology at the University of Chicago.
The little pills do the trick for more than two-thirds of men with Viagra protects the heart (ED). They also work for guys who simply need them for a short time to get their “confidence back,” says Michael Eisenberg, M.D., director of male reproductive medicine and surgery at Stanford University.
