DIY Folding Workbench - With Easy to Follow Plans to build a sturdy space saving workbench
This folding workbench is a great addition to any garage or craft area with limited space.  In it's folded position it only takes up 6" of floor space.  When set up it's a rock solid 32" deep workbench ready for your next DIY project.  The best part is you can build it on a Saturday for less than $100.00 Purchase the Plans On Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/566816326/diy-folding-workbench-plans-easy-to?utm_medium=SellerListingTools&utm_campaign=Share&utm_source=Raw&share_time=1513571400000&utm_term=so.slt Full Article: https://wp.me/p5Fv5T-JT I was hired by a nice couple in College Station to help organize there garage. They asked if I could install shelving and also build a folding workbench like they’ve seen on Pinterest. I’m a carpenter who loves building unique woodworking projects so I get really excited whenever I get a call that starts with “Hey, I found this thing on Pinterest, can you built it?”. SketchUp is such a valuable tool for woodworkers, carpenters, and remodelers.  Being able to build and modify custom cabinetry or woodworking projects digitally gives your customers a much better finished product and allows you as the contractor to more accurately price a job. I finished the workbench top with two coats of Minwax Polyurethane for Floors.  This product is very durable and makes a great top coat for high use areas like wood counter tops, work benches, tables, and...um...floors.

IKEA HACK | Adjustable Height Sit/Stand Walnut Desk
►I do this for a living, help me live? http://bit.ly/JackmanWorksPatreon ►Please share and subscribe? http://bit.ly/JackmanWorksSubscribe Details! ▼ Standing desks are the in thing right now so I got to build this adjustable height desk with a steel frame, walnut cladded leg and feet, with a giant walnut breadboard top. The top measures roughly 72x40" and the desk adjusts from 28" tall up to 48" tall with a hand crank that is hidden under the top of the desk and pops out to adjust the height. It's all made from solid walnut that was actually both felled and milled locally in Rhode Island, just to make it a little cooler. It looks just like a regular desk unless you peak underneath it! \\\\\ CREDITS & PROJECT SPECIFIC LINK \\\\\ ■ Full build article: https://www.jackmanworks.com/adjustable-height-sitstand-walnut-desk/ ■ Check out Waterlox products! http://bit.ly/waterloxjackman \\\\\ GENERAL PANDERING LINKS \\\\\ ■ http://www.jackmanworks.com ■ http://www.youtube.com/jackmanworks ■ http://www.instagram.com/jackman_works/ ■ http://www.twitter.com/jackmanworks ■ http://www.facebook.com/jackmanworks ■ http://www.pinterest.com/jackmanworks Plans, stickers, t-shirts, etc: http://www.jackmanworks.com/shop \\\\\ MUSIC \\\\\ ■ Jonatan Järpehag - My Island 2 http://www.epidemicsound.com ■ Jack Berry - The Bull https://soundcloud.com/jackberrymeanmachine/the-bull-by-jack-berry ■ Jack Berry - Coal https://soundcloud.com/jackberrymeanmachine/coal ■ Daniel Kadawatha - Catching Up Slowly http://www.epidemicsound.com

Sit/Stand Desk Scratch Build - Part 2
Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMeA9tJc2G4 Skip to 14:55 if you want to see the completed project. Here is the second of two parts, documenting my build of a custom designed/built sit/stand desk. I made the top from recycled pallets, the base from 2x2x3/16 tube and 2x2x1/8 angle. The movement is provided by heavy duty 24" drawer slides and a pair of linear actuators. The finish is a two part epoxy designed for boats and bar tops. Additional FAQs: QUESTION: What are the specs on the linear actuators, and where did you get them? ANSWER: Linear Actuator (Stroke Size 18", Force 200 Lbs, Speed 0.94"/sec) Item #PA-02-18-200 from Progressive Automations QUESTION: What did you use to coat the top? ANSWER: I used MirrorCoat from System 3. Because I had so much depth, this actually ended up being the most expensive part of the project. I used a 3 gallon kit, plus some. QUESTION: How much did this project cost? ANSWER: The cost was approximately $1200USD. The costs were for the steel, linear actuators, power supply, switch, drawer slides and epoxy. The wood was donated. QUESTION: What is the cut-out/notch along the one long edge? ANSWER: This cut-out is the exact width of the mounting plate for my dual-monitor stand. The depth allows me to get the monitors a little further forward, and allow me to route cables out the back, while placing the desk quite close to the wall. QUESTION: Why did you use a blow torch on the epoxy? ANSWER: The torch is used to pop the bubbles that were introduced both from mixing the two-part epoxy, as well as from the wood on the initial pour/coat. The bubbles naturally rise to the surface, but won't burst. The heat causes the air inside the bubble to expand and it overcomes the surface tension and *pop*! QUESTION: How did you learn this? How can I learn these things? ANSWER: A lot of it is just growing up on a horse ranch. We were largely self-sufficient. We would rarely call repair tradesmen in unless it was really outside of our comfort area, or had a LOT of risk. Now that I live in a metro area, and don't have the room I would like, etc.. I have recently joined a "makerspace" to give me access to some specialized things, or tools I don't have room to house in the garage. As far as additional learning... youtube and forums are great sources. The biggest thing I can give you is this: As long as you are safe, don't be afraid to fail. Failure teaches you more than an easy path. Just make what you can, with what you can. It will be better than what you can get from a big-box store most of the time... and you will be proud of it. The presentation of this build video was inspired by Jimmy DiResta, a true builder, and who I want to be when I grow up. I built a folding workbench in my garage
While I like to tinker in my garage, the space is limited and I never have enough counter top space. I decided to build a folding workbench. I can fold my work bench when I want to park my car in the garage, yet I can easily get it ready when I need the space for a project or tools. The workbench size is 2'x8'. To build the workebanch you will need: - Sheet of 7/8 plywood (ripped in half to 2'x8' size) - 5 8-foot long 2x4's - 3 hinges - clamps - miter saw - wood screws - cordless drill - cordless impact driver - digital angle finder

How to Make a Drop Leaf Table Joint (Rule Joint) -- WOOD magazine
Need a joint that adds both form and function to your drop-leaf table? Then you need a rule joint, which provides a clean decorative edge even when the table leaves are folded down. You can rout the joint using two common router bits: a cove bit and a round-over bit with matching cutting diameters. Master Craftsman Chuck Hedlund shows you how to make one. DIY Floating Desk Build (Ikea Hack)
This was my build of the custom floating desks for my home office. I could not find anything in stores that I liked, so I decided to make my own. This was a great space saving option, because the desk is completely off of the floor. Great option for a home office or kids room. The desk tops are from Ikea and the legs are made from 1x4 lumber. The total cost of each desk was only $15. How to Build a Simple Legless Corner Desk With Wood Flooring
How to build a simple legless corner desk with wood flooring panels. I demonstrate how I constructed a custom desk from surplus wood flooring and scrap materials. The resulting desk build is simple, functional, and elegant. The completed corner desk maximizes space efficiency and is large enough to use as a computer work station (which is what I built it for). The legless design makes it great for those who hate having their legs confined under traditional desk with legs. Outside Corner wood Trim Piece: http://amzn.to/2fVfWFW Trim Screws: http://amzn.to/2xXtK7l Painters Tape to mark walls: http://amzn.to/2xXtK7l Check out my book: http://amzn.to/2fQ357H My Children's book: http://amzn.to/2xfDnw3 Left over wood flooring panels can be used to create many things . The flooring panel technique I show in the video can be used to build a surface base for just about any project. The stock panel is simply wood flooring panels glued to a plywood base. When dry the flooring base can be cut as a whole unit to fit the space of any design needs. I also show how to create a skill saw guide or saw cutting jig to create table saw straight cuts with a skill saw. This is actually a technique I learned from watching Tom Silva on This Old House. The Wood Flooring I used in this video came from EcoRelics http://ecorelics.com/

DIY Simple Workbench - Woodworking Bench
How to make a DIY Simple Workbench for your DIY projects. This project is simple, doesn't take that long, and is very affordable. My buddy George and I built this for his garage. For more info, project photos, and downloadable plans check out: http://www.diypete.com/Workbench Download Plans: http://gumroad.com/l/Workbench *Note that these are affiliate links, meaning that when you buy something that is recommended below, it helps support the Channel. Thanks in advance! *Tools Needed Circular Saw - http://thd.co/1ObCjRj OR Miter Saw - http://thd.co/1OLlUlZ Drill - http://thd.co/1YlluYO And/OR Impact Driver - http://amzn.to/1PbFM0U Orbital Sander - http://amzn.to/1PbFN50 Tape Measure, Straight Edge, Pencil Eye and Ear protection *Supplies Needed Lumber for the workbench – see wood list in the plans Minwax Polyurethane - http://amzn.to/1ZeCNb2 Minwax Gunstock Stain - http://amzn.to/1ZeCNrq 4" Caster Wheels - http://amzn.to/1PbFPKi Sandpaper, Wood Screws, and Washers ---- Approximate Total Cost: $175 The Simple Workbench can be made for about $175 in materials cost. You could reduce $35 right off the cost by only using one sheet of plywood and changing dimensions of the top to 24” or less in width. Wood Costs 2 – 4x4s $10/piece 7 – 2x4s $2.50/piece 2- Plywood sheets $35/piece Other Supplies 4 – 4” Caster wheels $8/piece 1 lb. – 2 ½” Screws $9/pound 1 lb. – 1 ¼” Screws $9/pound Stain – $8/quart Polyurethane – $12/quart Washers – For Caster Wheels $1 This is the cost for the wood, wood finish, and other basic supplies. *Note: This doesn’t include smaller things you may already have around the shop, including: glue, sandpaper, etc. ---- Cut All of the Wood Pieces We’ll start this project by marking and making cuts for all of the different pieces for this simple workbench. We used a simple circular saw for this, you can use a miter saw or table saw as well. Once all of your cuts are made, we’ll give all of the boards a quick sanding and then start assembling it. Refer to the free, downloadable plans for the cut list. Start Assembly, Making the Top First Now we’ll start assembling our simple workbench. After you’ve cut all of the pieces according to the cut list in the plans, then grab the legs, the top lengthwise supports, and the top stretcher supports. Center one of the top stretcher supports and then space the others about 18” apart. Let’s put this all together with 2 ½” wood screws. Pre drill any holes before adding the wood screws and assemble it all together. With very similar assembly construction as the top portion, let’s attach the bottom support. Note that the back side lengthwise board of the bottom (bottom lengthwise board that will face the user) is attached inside the legs. This allows for more room for the user of the workbench. Cut the Plywood and Attach Now, we simply need to cut the plywood top and bottom pieces to size. Refer to the cut list for the dimensions and make your cuts. We’ll attach these with 1 1/4″ wood screws, always pre-drilling the holes. You can be generous with the amount of screws that you put into these boards. Stain and Finish the Workbench My friend George was a big fan of Minwax’s Gunstock Stain, so that is the color that we went with for his workbench. Always test the stain on a scrap piece of wood before applying to the whole project. Be sure to thoroughly cover all of the wood’s surface, working your way around, underneath, and in all of the nooks and crannies of your workbench. Let this stain dry and cure and then add a clear coat of polyurethane or lacquer to the workbench. ---- Looking for more DIY videos? Be sure to check out our channel and subscribe for updates! Making a Federal Style Drop Leaf Table: Andrew Pitts~FurnitureMaker
I received a commission to reproduce my client's Federal style swing arm drop leaf table with reeded legs in new dimensions, a bit narrower but longer than the original and using my client's walnut wood from two trees on his property. I was able to incorporate Vectric Aspire software and an indexing head on the ShopBot Desktop in making the reeded legs. This video documents the process of making the Federal style swing arm drop leaf table. These woodworking videos show how Andrew Pitts makes his fine furniture. He also often demonstrates new uses for his ShopBot Desktop CNC routing machine, using Vectic Aspire software and has included other useful videos such as how to photograph furniture.
