The main joint of the shoulder, commonly referred to as "THE shoulder joint", is the joint between the head of the humerus - the upper arm bone, and the glenoid cavity of the scapula -the shoulder blade. This is a ball-and-socket type of joint. Shoulder arthritis refers to loss of cartilage on the surface of the humeral head and the glenoid of the shoulder joint. The two bones rub against each other and produce pain, stiffness and difficulty moving an arm. Types of shoulder arthritis include: Osteoarthritis - also called degenerative joint disease - is the "wear and tear" condition of the joint, commonly due to old age. Osteoarthritis is characterized by loss of cartilage, bone spurring and NO major inflammation. Rheumatoid arthritis – is a result of inflammation of the synovium - the membrane that encloses the joint. Inflammation brings in the cells of the immune system, whose inflammatory chemicals damage and destroy the joint. It is not clear how rheumatoid arthritis starts but genetic predisposition together with infection of the joint are likely to be among the causes. Rotator cuff arthropathy or cuff tear arthropathy is shoulder arthritis AS A RESULT and IN A SETTING of rotator cuff tears. Rotator cuff muscles hold the ball and the socket together and prevent the humeral head from moving out of the socket when the person raises an arm. In people with torn rotator cuff, the head of the humerus moves upwards and rub onto the acromion. This causes damages to the covering cartilage and eventually arthritis. Combination of cuff tear and arthritis is a devastating condition that seriously impairs functions of the shoulder joint. Post-traumatic arthritis – is arthritis that develops after physical injury to the joint. Chondrolysis - sudden loss of cartilage that happens occasionally after a shoulder surgery, commonly seen in association with infusion of local anesthetics into the joint for pain management.

Osteoarthritis of Shoulder Joint Shoulder Joint Osteoarthritis is a most common type of shoulder joint inflammatory disease. Osteoarthritis is often seen in elderly patients. Osteoarthritis causes degeneration of shoulder joint articulating cartilages, rim of the glenoid cavity and ligaments. Cartilages will slowly get worned out. Eventually lack of cartilages results in joint with bone on bone. Bone spurs are observed over humerus within the joint and adjacent to capsule outside the joint. Bone spurs are bony projections also known as osteophytes. Osteophytes cause irritation of synovial membrane, capsule and ligament resulting in severe pain. Shoulder Joint Osteoarthritis Is Associated With Irritation Or Inflammation Of Ligaments And Rim Of Glenoid Cavity. Shoulder Joint Osteoarthritis Is Associated With Tendon Inflammation And Causes Rotator Cuff Pain. Shoulder Joint Is Very Painful To Touch And Movements. Pain Does Respond To Anti-Inflammatory Medications. Pain Is Continuous In Advanced Disease and May Need Advanced Surgical Treatment. Joint Movements Are Restricted During Initial Phase And Later In Advanced Stage. Patient Is Unable To Carry Weights On Diseased Arm And Do Movements Beyond 20 To 25 Degree Rotation. b. Rheumatoid Arthritis of Shoulder Joint Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease of shoulder joint. Soft tissue inflammation of capsule and synovial membrane causes thickening of capsule and synovial membrane as well as severe pain. Inflamed synovial membrane secretes excessive amount of synovial fluid resulting in joint effusion and swelling. Rheumatoid Arthritis causes severe pain and often pain is associated with mild fever. Pain is secondary to damaged cartilage and irritation of ligaments and tendon. Rheumatoid Arthritis also causes Inflammation of ligaments and tendon. Severe case may result in partial tear of ligament and tendon. In advanced stage of rheumatoid arthritis, shoulder joint often partially dislocate during rapid movement or rotation of shoulder joint. Subluxation is partial dislocation. Subluxation is either anterior or posterior. Subluxation causes severe sudden pain, which last for several hours. Pain does not respond to NSAIDs and opioids. c. Gout Normal shoulder joint movement is painless. Shoulder joint of patient suffering with gout is extremely painful. Pain may last on and often for few days. Gout is caused by inflammation resulting from uric acid deposits over synovial membrane, cartilage and rim of glenoid cavity. Uric acid causes inflammation of synovium, articulating cartilage and rim of glenoid socket. Pain is spread over front and back of the shoulder joint. Palpation, pressure and movement of shoulder joint result in severe pain. Tender Painful Swelling is observed over Shoulder Joint. Joint movements such as flexion, extension and rotation are extremely painful during the active period of gout. d. Pseudogout Pseudogout is rare and is a painful condition of the shoulder joint. Symptoms are often similar to gout. Calcium Pyro Phosphate crystals are widely spread in shoulder joint. Crystals are deposited over articulating cartilage, synovial membrane, joint capsule and glenoid cavity. Calcium Pyro Phosphate crystals causes inflammation of cartilage and synovial membrane. Inflammation follows swelling of cartilage and synovial membrane as well as increased secretion of synovial fluid. Pseudogout is diagnosed following lab study of synovial fluid. Crystals of Calcium Pyrophosphate are lineal long. Crystals are embedded in the surface of cartilage and synovial membrane. Crystals are also observed in Shoulder joint capsule and the edge of the humerus within the shoulder joint. Pain caused by pseudogout is often spread over front and back of shoulder joint. Pain is severe in the morning and gets less painful later in the day. Shoulder joint movement is restricted in the morning. Pain becomes less severe as the joint movements are improved during the day. Swelling is observed over front and back of the shoulder joint. Swelling is soft mostly caused by increased secretion of synovial fluid within the joint. e. Septic Arthritis Septic Arthritis is caused by infection of shoulder joint resulting in collection of abscess (pus) within the joint. Septic Arthritis can also be caused by penetrating injury or infection from other source spreads to joint through blood. Joint movements are painful. Joint capsule is inflamed. Movement of shoulder joint irritates.Inflame joint capsule causes severe intractable pain. Skin over the joint is red and hot indicates underlying infection and inflammation. Patient guards and protect the shoulder joint. Patients avoid any movement of shoulder joint. Shoulder joint muscles are contracted or in spasm to prevent shoulder joint movement, which result in severe pain.

Absolute Best Creme for Sore Muscles & Arthritis & You Can Make it.

11:33
Absolute Best Creme for Sore Muscles & Arthritis & You Can Make it. From my personal experiences of working out and exercising for decades, I have found that the absolute best ointment or creme for sore muscles and joint pain has been a combination of DSMO (dimethyl sulfoxide) and arnica montana. DSMO has been used since the early 1960's for joint and arthritic pain and pain from over-exertion of muscles, especially with professional athletes. It was Doctor Stanley Jacob that first experimented successfully with using DSMO (dimethyl sulfoxide) on arthritic patients. I have found that a product consisting of about 50% DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) and 50% arinica montana with the addition of some aloe vera and coconut oil to be highly effective in almost instantly alleviating pain from sore muscles from over-exercising or bring about instant relieve from joint, back or arthritic pain or discomfort.

What is Rheumatoid Arthritis? | RA Awareness Day 2017

02:21
The 2nd of February is Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Day and 3D4Medical made a video explaining more about the condition. Find more info at: http://rheum4us.org/what-is-rheumatoid-awareness-day/ Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease where a person's immune system attacks and targets the healthy connective tissue surrounding joints in the body. It affects approximately 1% of the population. Rheumatoid Arthritis most commonly affects individuals aged between 30 to 60, however onset can occur at any age. Women have more than double the chance of developing Rheumatoid Arthritis. Other risk Factors include having a close relative with Rheumatoid Arthritis and smoking. When the immune system attacks the connective tissue surrounding a joint, this causes inflammation. Patients experience swollen, stiff, and painful joints, which can feel warm. Symptoms are worst in the morning and after periods of inactivity. The most common joints affected are the small joints of the hands, feet and ankles - however larger joints may also be affected. Symptoms usually occur symmetrically on both sides of the body. This initial inflammation can lead to long term joint damage and joint deformities, so early management is key. People living with Rheumatoid arthritis experience “Flare Ups” of more severe symptoms which can last from a few days up to a month. Rheumatoid Arthritis is mostly managed with medications targeting the immune system, which aim to decrease the inflammation and damage to the joints. Other medications are given for initial symptom relief however these do not combat disease progression. Intramuscular injections can provide relief from symptoms, especially during flare ups. If the condition is allowed to progress, it can lead to permanent joint damage consisting of cartilage destruction and bone erosion. Depending on the severity of the joint damage a patient may choose to avail of joint replacement surgery which serves to ease pain and increase joint mobility. Rheumatoid Arthritis is known to cause fatigue - however, keeping active is shown to benefit patients. Regular low impact exercise can strengthen muscles and keep connective tissue healthy providing better protection against flare ups. Menopause and Arthritis | Joint Pain Caused by Menopause

05:37
http://www.mymenopausefix.com Menopause and Arthritis Founder- Kris T. Smith/ Publisher Menopausal woman often relate arthritis to menopause. However, research has not been able to directly link menopause and rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. They do know that when estrogen falls, a molecule known as CD16 increases. It is the molecule that regulates inflammation and it seems to strengthen the link between menopause and arthritis. menopause symptoms, menopause relief, menopause arthritis Are your joints aching? For the past several months, I've been waking with joint aches and began to attribute these symptoms to menopause. While researching the affects of joint pain, arthritis and menopause, it is not clear what the connection, if any, is. Here is what I did discover. Joint pain is common in peri-menopausal and menopausal women and the term "menopausal arthritis" has been used to describe the symptom. It can be debilitating and make simple tasks unbearable. Joint pain is typically caused by hormonal imbalance like most menopausal symptoms. Although the connection of joint pain is still unclear, physicians believe that the diminished level of, particularly estrogen, plays a major role during menopause. Other interacting symptoms for menopausal arthritis include: *Osteoporosis: One connection appears to be estrogen, the hormone that decreases in menopausal women. As we begin the phase of peri-menopause, bone loss and density diminish known as osteoporosis. Osteoporosis has been directly linked to lower levels of estrogen *Muscle Mass Loss: During menopause, muscle mass decreases. Muscles are crucial for supporting aching joints *Fatigue: As it is a common symptom of menopause, usually due to lack of sleep, it can cause arthritis symptoms such as joint pain Here are two simple solutions to combat osteoporosis, muscle mass loss and fatigue, and inflammation: Exercise: Regular exercise reduces joint pain and strengthens muscles to better support your joints. Movement can boost your endurance and cardiovascular health. Exercise has been proven to boost your mood and energy levels. Begin to slowly exercise. As you become stronger, increase your exercise to 30 minutes a day for a minimum of 5 days a week. It natural to experience some muscle soreness post a workout, however, if it worsens two to three hours after, scale it back a little until your body stamina increases. Some types of exercise include: *Aerobic: to improve circulation and weight loss. Try walking, swimming o *Strength training: builds muscles that support joints and increases endurance. Try weight lifting, resistance bands or watch this *Stretching: improves flexibility and reduces soreness post workouts 2. Diet: What you eat matters. Vegetable and grains are a good way to improve health and feel better. Focus on whole fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and fatty fish such as: *Omega 3s: to include flaxseed, salmon, tuna and halibut. They also fight mental fatigue *Fiber: lowers inflammation. Include lentils, black beans and artichokes to your diet *Olive Oil: plays a role in inflammation. Researchers say that 3 ½ tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil is equivalent to 200 mg of ibuprofen *Onions: packed with antioxidants and reduce inflammation. Add them to your salad, sauté them and add to your meal *Strawberries: also help inflammation. Use fresh or frozen. Add them to your oatmeal or yogurt For more information on arthritis and other menopause related topics visit http://www.mymenopausefix.com Always know that you can and that you have the ability to take action and combat menopausal symptoms as well as menopausal arthritis to live a healthier pain free life. Gouty Arthritis (Gout) and Uric Acid

08:26
Gouty arthritis, or gout, is an extremely painful disease that affects the joints of the elderly, the obese, and the diabetics. Crystals of uric acid are found in these damaged joints. Why do these crystals form, and how are they linked to the excruciating pain experienced by those with gout? Find out more in this episode of Medicurio. Informative websites to check out about gout: Gout and Uric Acid Education Society: http://gouteducation.org/ Tophus images (click at your own risk!): http://bit.ly/2giFbjk Arthritis Foundation: http://www.arthritis.org/about-arthritis/types/gout/ Something that intrigued me when I was researching about gout was why there were even proteins that reabsorb uric acid from the urine when all it does is cause hyperuricemia. Surprisingly, everybody has a low level of uric acid in the blood, indicating that uric acid may be important to life, possibly as a natural antioxidant. However, too much of it causes gout.

Osteoarthritis Hip Pain: Symptoms and Treatment

03:21
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis. It is also termed as ‘degenerative joint disorder’ or age related arthritis, as it develops when people age. The cartilage functions as ‘shock absorbers’ that gives a cushion effect to the end of the bones and prevents the bones from directly rubbing against each other, thereby reducing the friction within joints. Arthritis is a form of joint disorder that involves inflammation of one or more joints. There are over 100 different forms of arthritis. The most common form, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), is a result of trauma to the joint, infection of the joint, or age. Other arthritis forms are rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and related autoimmune diseases. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection. The major complaint by individuals who have arthritis is joint pain. Pain is often a constant and may be localized to the joint affected. The pain from arthritis is due to inflammation that occurs around the joint, damage to the joint from disease, daily wear and tear of joint, muscle strains caused by forceful movements against stiff painful joints and fatigue. There is no cure for either rheumatoid or osteoarthritis. Treatment options vary depending on the type of arthritis and include physical therapy, lifestyle changes (including exercise and weight control), orthopedic bracing, medications. Joint replacement surgery may be required in eroding forms of arthritis. Medications can help reduce inflammation in the joint which decreases pain. Full body muscle spasam. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, please help her

00:19
We need suggests and answers. She develops severe headache first, then severe pain and muscle spasms that becomes so bad that she can not bend her toes, legs, arm or neck. When is happens she has no nerve reactions in arms, legs, feet or hands. She then goes unconscious from the pain. 10min to 45mins. When she comes back to consciousness her whole body hurts and then she gets her eye sight back and can move for a few hours and before this happens again. Sometimes slow with legs starting first or just getting a headache and passing out. Headache always come first. Some face numbness. My wife is 36 and has had Rheumatoid Arthritis & Fibromyalgia for 10 years now. This started last year in April and she was hospitalized for 7 days in one hospital and transfer to another with no answers. She was depressed during this and they put her on Abilify. This helped the depression and she has taken it for a year now. Now she was hospitalized for another 7 days and they still don't know what is causing this. None of her current meds have changed to cause this. All the tests she has had came back negative. No fever. Never above 100.5 Blood pressure shoots up to 177-200 and normal is 77-99 Some sweating. Some hand of feet numbness. Sugar level is good during muscle spasms. Low CALCIUM & POTASSIUM EEG came back ok, she had a muscle spasm during it. Doctors say it is not a seizer. They did 2 spinal taps in April last year in 2 different hospitals and no suggestion of MS or Lupus Ideas we have?? Maybe a Fibromyalgia side effects I also think its an Autoimmune disorder; Maybe * Polymyalgia Rheumatica (large muscle groups) * Guillain-Barre syndrome (nervous system) Isaacs Syndrome -Neuromyotonia - Cramp Faciculation Syndrome - Peripheral Nerve Diseases Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy

8 Signs That Your Dog Suffers Arthritis - Arthritis in the Dog

02:48
→ http://todosobreperros.online/go/onlinedog ← CLICK HERE Arthritis in the dog, what is this disease? Arthritis is a painful inflammation of the joints of the can, which is degenerative and can reduce its mobility. "Arthritis is one of the most common causes of chronic pain in dogs, especially in elderly dogs." This degenerative disease reduces the cartilage that protects the joints. The painful consequence? The bones of the dog rub, losing the protector that separated them, which can cause an abnormal growth of the bone, with immense pain for can. Following are eight signs to recognize arthritis in the dog, and go to the vet as soon as possible. 1. Arthritis in the dog: limp. A can with arthritis may limp or, using pain, use more legs than others, as it will try to carry the least possible weight on legs painful by arthritis. The limp is more evident when the dog begins the walk, and has not yet warmed, and may become less visible once it has warmed the body. This is a clear reason to go to the vet. 2. The dog has trouble moving. The limp of the can also becomes evident when it has difficulties to make movements or to go up to places that previously arrived with normality. An example? A dog with arthritis will have trouble getting into the car or jumping in order to snuggle with his human on the couch as he once did. 3. The dog does not find the posture. A dog with joint pain will have complications to find a comfortable posture. You will try to change your position a thousand times until you find a less painful one, although it will not always succeed. The reason for so much change is the pain. 4. Canine arthritis affects the spine. Arthritis can also affect several parts of the spine. In this case, the dog may have a sore neck and adopt strange positions, such as lying down with a too hunched back. 5. Arthritis in the dog: irritability. The pain makes the dog do not want to eat, and this explains why one of the signs of arthritis in dogs is loss of appetite. Other changes in behavior may also alert you to pain: unusual nervousness, irritability (a consequence of pain), or failure to heed learned behavioral patterns. 6. Dogs tired from arthritis. The pain is exhausting, and a sick canine will be more tired than normal. For a dog, tiredness means avoiding long walks, but also spending more time sleeping. 7. Muscle atrophy in dogs. The inactivity of the muscles due to pain clarifies why dogs with arthritis suffer atrophy of certain parts of the body, such as the less used legs. When this happens, this is already a symptom that the state of arthritis is advanced, and you have to go to the veterinarian urgently. 8. Compulsive licking in the body. The pain makes the dogs affected by arthritis insist insistently the painful areas of the body. This compulsive licking in dogs can cause baldness and even wounds. And what to do when the dog suffers arthritis? You must go to the vet as soon as possible, so that you can give him the treatment you need and also to offer guidelines in order to help you get rid of your overweight with health. http://www.julstro.com/ Julstro Muscular Therapy is a unique series of self-applied techniques developed by the experienced licensed massage therapist, Julie Donnelly the Muscle Pain and Joint Stiffness Relief expert For the past 20 years, people from around the world have been benefiting from the Julstro techniques. The benefit has come in the form of hands-on treatment for Achilles tendonitis, shinsplints, stress fractures, rotator cuff injuries, plantar fasciitis, and various other joint pains. In addition, relief has come to many individuals from following the Julstro methods of self-treatment taught to them as part of their hands-on session or from the processes outlined within the Julstro™ Self-Treatment System. Medical research indicates that muscle spasms, also called trigger points, will refer pain and/or numbness to areas that may be far from the trigger point. Julstro Muscular Therapy combines this research with various massage techniques and Julie's innovative method of therapy. An important aspect of the treatment is to logically link the trigger point to the pain and enhance your body's ability to heal that area quickly and completely. http://www.julstro.com/ Also, see https://www.FlexibleAthlete.com

Can you get better if you have pain from hip arthritis (osteoarthritis)?

Can you get better if you have hip pain from hip arthritis? Many people wonder if having hip osteoarthritis means there's no hope of improving their range of motion, strength, and quality of life without surgery. Matt answers that question with two studies and observations that give you some hope. One study examined knee pain from arthritis. The second study examined hip pain from arthritis. Both studies showed that x-ray evidence of arthritis in the knees and hips had no correlation to symptoms!
