What Will Happen If You Start Eating Oats Every Day

10:07
Doctors and nutritionists highly recommend making oatmeal a part of your diet and having it as your healthy morning meal. The secret is simple: good-quality environmentally-friendly oats help you feel and look better on the inside and out. Oats have some unique properties thanks to the wide variety of vitamins and minerals they contain. Zinc helps cleanse the skin and remove toxins and other harmful compounds. Iron is one of the most important elements for the nutrition and saturation of moisture in skin cells. Magnesium promotes blood circulation and noticeable skin cell renewal. While protein is extremely important, your body also demands carbohydrates and fats, both of which you can find in oatmeal. Oats are also rich in antioxidants that help alleviate itching, inflammation, and high blood pressure. The slow carbohydrates found in oatmeal help curb your appetite and maintain normal blood sugar levels. All those nutrients in oats not only boost your metabolism but also prevent the accumulation of fat and toxins in the body. Thanks to the antioxidants present in oatmeal, the probability of damage to the walls of blood vessels by free radicals is reduced significantly. If you find it boring to just have oatmeal for breakfast every day, you’ll love the recipes we have put together to help you turn a boring oatmeal breakfast into something way more flavorful. 6 Foods That Don't Raise Blood Sugar Levels for Diabetic

03:14
1. Flaxseeds Flaxseeds are rich in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Adding 1 to 2 tbsp. of ground flaxseeds to your diet will not only not raise your blood sugar levels but can actually help blunt the blood sugar level's rise normally experienced after eating. The type of fiber in flaxseeds are mainly soluble and have the property of reducing your blood sugar levels as well as your blood cholesterol levels. 2. Cheese Cheese does not contain any carbohydrates, with the exception of cottage cheese and ricotta cheese, which contain small amounts, or about 3 to 4 g per 1/2 cup serving. Cheese is a good source of protein and calcium. Cheese makes a great snack that won't raise your blood sugar levels and is a good way to add extra protein to your breakfast. 3. Olive Oil Olive oil is a good source of heart-friendly monounsaturated fats, which constitute the cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet. Olive oil does not contain carbohydrates and will not directly influence your blood sugar levels. Use regular olive oil for cooking your vegetables and protein and select extra-virgin olive oil for drizzling over your salad. 4. Meat, Poultry and Fish A healthy diabetes meal plan should include an adequate source of protein at each of your meals. Lean meat and poultry constitute good low-fat options, while fish, eaten two to three times a week, can provide you with the omega-3 fatty acids your body needs to stay healthy and to prevent cardiovascular diseases. These protein sources are free of carbohydrates if you avoid the ones that are breaded or served in a sweet sauce. 5. Nuts and Nut Butter Nuts contain small amounts of carbohydrates, most of them being fiber, and therefore have a modest effect over your blood sugar levels. Cashews are the starchiest of all nuts and are not the best options with about 9 g of carbohydrates per ounce. Stick to other nuts and limit your serving size to about 1 oz., or 1 to 2 tbsp. in the case of nut butter to avoid affecting your blood sugar levels. Avoid sugar-coated nuts and select natural unsweetened nut butter. 6. Nonstarchy Vegetables Nonstarchy vegetables contain small amounts of carbohydrates, but most of these carbohydrates are fiber, which explains why they have little impact over your diabetes control. A diet rich in nonstarchy vegetables can actually help you better manage your blood sugar levels. Include broccoli, leafy greens, tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, turnips, cauliflower, bok choy, onions, mushrooms or asparagus at most of your meals to boost your fiber and antioxidant intake without compromising your blood sugars.

Top 10 Foods for Diabetes Control

05:38
Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. Symptoms of high blood sugar include frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger. If left untreated, diabetes can cause many serious long-term complications include heart disease, stroke, chronic kidney failure, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes. What you eat can help you to control and fight your diabetes. Research proves that making a few key changes to your diet such as eating more produce, fewer refined carbohydrates, plenty of lean protein can help in improving your blood-sugar and cuts the risk of diabetes-related complications. Certain foods are packed with nutrients that stabilise blood sugar levels, protect your heart, and even save your vision from the damaging effects of diabetes. These top 10 foods can help you in controlling Diabetes. Spinach The American Diabetes Association calls spinach a diabetes super food and recommends that you regularly include this dark green leafy non-starchy vegetable in your diet. Besides being rich in vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, spinach possesses a low glycemic index, which means eating it will help support healthy and stable blood glucose levels. Spinach is low in carbohydrates, containing only 0.83 grams per cup. The fact that spinach contains so few carbohydrates makes it an excellent choice on a diabetes diet. Broccoli Broccoli contains a compound called sulforaphane, which triggers several anti-inflammatory processes that improve blood sugar control and protect blood vessels from the cardiovascular damage that’s often a consequence of diabetes. Olive oil Olive oil is recognized as one of the healthiest edible oils since it contains less saturated fats. It is rich in Omega 9 and Omega 3 which help maintain the flexibility of blood vessels, allowing good blood flow. Olive oil, especially extra virgin, contains tyrosol phenolic compounds such as oleuropein and oleocanthal. These compounds are nature’s most powerful anti-oxidants. Sweet potatoes Sweet potatoes are a good carbohydrate choice for diabetics. The glycemic index of sweet potatoes is a lot lower, which is better for diabetes control, according to a 2002 article in the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition." Eating sweet potatoes in moderate amounts will help you keep your blood sugar levels in the healthy range even if you have diabetes. Avocados Avocados are an excellent choice for people with diabetes because they are very rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals and packed with numerous health benefiting plant nutrients. Blueberries Blueberries contain both insoluble fiber (which “flushes” fat out of your system) and soluble fiber (which slows down the emptying of your stomach, and improves blood sugar control). It also contain a natural plant compound known as anthocyanins. Scientists believe these may help lower blood sugar by boosting insulin production. Tomatoes Tomatoes are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin K. They are also a very good source of, potassium, manganese, dietary fiber, chromium, and vitamin B1. Because of their low carbohydrate content, tomatoes can play a big role in controlling blood sugar levels. The low carbohydrate content also helps lower calorie intake and can help diabetics to lose weight. Eggs Eggs are a versatile food and a great source of protein, and the American Diabetes Association considers eggs an excellent choice for people with diabetes. Cinnamon Cinnamon spice has the highest anti-oxidant strength of all the food sources in nature. Many studies show that consumption of one teaspoon cinnamon to three teaspoons a day has a positive effect on reducing blood glucose levels. It was found that the cinnamon can make your cells more sensitive to insulin. Dates Dates are a great choice for a person with diabetes as they can help control sugar cravings, and they are low on the glycemic index. The carbohydrates in dates provide instant energy, and the high fiber contained in dates is good for digestion. This sweet desert fruit is cholesterol and fat free therefore, they serve as a great snack item. Many essential disease protective minerals are also present in dates.

The secret to beating diabetes revealed

04:17
What if I told you diabetes has nothing to do with blood sugar? http://tiny.cc/diabetesloophole Instead it’s caused by something called cytokines. These are chemicals in your body which form in the presence of inflammation. You can think of them as a byproduct, and the more cytokines in your body, the more inflammation you’re experiencing. [But what do cytokines have to do with diabetes?] A lot actually. You see, according to a study done by Harvard University, the blood samples of diabetics contain extremely high levels of cytokine’s. But even more surprising, it was found that without cytokine’s, it was IMPOSSIBLE to develop diabetes. Yes, you read that correctly. Without cytokine’s you CANNOT develop diabetes. This has now been proven by multiple studies and it’s also been shown that cytokine’s, and more specifically inflammation, makes the human body less responsive to insulin and increases the risk of insulin resistance. According to Henry Dong of the University of Pittsburgh… “Inflammation and insulin resistance reinforce each other via a positive feedback loop” Simply put, it’s a deadly cycle of inflammation causing diabetes… …and the diabetes fueling further inflammation. This creates a vicious cycle that keeps you dependent on medication and insulin injections. It’s not hopeless though… Because you CAN fight and reverse diabetes… All it takes is reducing the amount of inflammation in your body. It’s really as simple as this and if you don’t believe me go [here and take a look at the research which proves it] You’ll see the studies which show diabetes is caused by inflammation NOT your blood sugar. Plus you’ll learn about a simple, proven plan for reducing inflammation and reversing diabetes. And yes, I know this sounds incredible, but I’m not asking you to believe me… [All I ask is that you take a look at the research] and make your mind up for yourself. How Bananas Affect Diabetes and Blood Sugar Levels - One Health

11:17
Diabetes Mellitus - How Bananas Affect Diabetes and Blood Sugar Levels - One Health 👉👉👉 Get It Here: http://tinyurl.com/lydyceh 👈👈👈 How Bananas Affect Diabetes and Blood Sugar Levels When you have diabetes, it is important to keep blood sugar levels as stable as possible. Good blood sugar control can help prevent or slow the progression of some of the main medical complications of diabetes For this reason, avoiding or minimizing foods that cause big blood sugar spikes is essential. Despite being a healthy fruit, bananas are pretty high in both carbs and sugar, the main nutrients that raise blood sugar levels. So, should you be eating bananas if you have diabetes? How do they affect your blood sugar? Bananas Contain Carbs, Which Raise Blood Sugar If you have diabetes, being aware of the amount and type of carbs in your diet is important. This is because carbs raise your blood sugar level more than other nutrients, which means they can greatly affect your blood sugar control. When blood sugar rises in non-diabetic people, the body produces insulin. It helps the body move sugar out of the blood and into the cells where it’s used or stored. However, this process doesn’t work as it should in diabetics. Instead, either the body doesn’t produce enough insulin or the cells are resistant to the insulin that is made. If not managed properly, this can result in high-carb foods causing big blood sugar spikes or constantly high blood sugar levels, both of which are bad for your health. 93% of the calories in bananas come from carbs. These carbs are in the form of sugar, starch and fiber A single medium-sized banana contains 14 grams of sugar and 6 grams of starch Bananas are high in carbs, which cause blood sugar levels to rise more than other nutrients. Bananas Also Contain Fiber, Which May Reduce Blood Sugar Spikes Banana Peel Peeling Away From a Banana In addition to starch and sugar, a medium-sized banana contains 3 grams of fiber. Everyone, including diabetics, should eat adequate amounts of dietary fiber due to its potential health benefits. However, fiber is especially important for people with diabetes, as it can help slow the digestion and absorption of carbs This can reduce blood sugar spikes and improve overall blood sugar control One way of determining how a carb-containing food will affect blood sugars is by looking at its glycemic index (GI). The glycemic index ranks foods based on how much and how quickly they raise blood sugar levels. Insulin and Weight loss ➠ How to Control & Lower Insulin Resistance Levels Fat Loss Diabetes Leptin

08:31
Everything you need to know about Insulin and Weight Loss. In this video I reveal how to control and lower insulin resistance. Lower your insulin levels and battle diabetes with diet and exercise. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Challenge: https://gravitychallenges.com/home65d4f?utm_source=ytube&utm_term=insulin Fat Loss Calculator: http://bit.ly/2O5Dxzw Insulin and weight loss. What exactly makes these two so dependent on each other? If you dig through a little bit of fat loss research you'll see right away that insulin is very closely connected with burning fat and losing weight. In fact without reducing insulin there is almost no way we can burn a substantial amount of fat no matter how hard we exercise and diet. And even though most people have heard about insulin spikes not being good for weight loss the average person doesn't truly understand why. Well my hope is that today I can explain this in a way that anybody can understand. It all starts with you eating food. When you eat food the chewed up food particles get broken down further in your stomach into very small parts and then they pass through your intestines at which point your body absorbs and breaks down those nutrients and calories again and dumps them into your bloodstream. These broken down nutrients can't just jump into the cells that need them for their daily functions without some help. That's where insulin comes in. Insulin is a hormone secreted by your pancreas and it gets released into your bloodstream when your body senses that blood sugar has increased. Very high blood sugar levels are not good for you and your body knows this. So insulin acts as a bridge between your cells and the sugar found floating around in your blood. Without insulin your blood sugar would be very high because your body wouldn't be able to get that sugar into the cells. This is actually pretty much what type 2 diabetes is. When people are insulin resistant which means that insulin isn't doing its job they usually wind up being labeled as a type 2 diabetic which means that they need an external source of insulin for example either a shot or a pill to get their blood sugar down. So what does all of this have to do with fat loss and weight loss. Well whether you eat pasta brown rice or drink a can of soda all of it will eventually be broken down and it will be blood sugar floating around in your bloodstream. The only difference is that whole high-fiber carbs like brown rice will take a lot longer to digest which means that the sugar will be released into your bloodstream slowly while the can of soda will pretty much be released all at once. When it's released into your bloodstream slowly you give your body a chance to actually use it overtime so you won't require quite as much insulin which leads to less of it being stored as fat. Before insulin starts storing blood glucose into fat cells it will first store as much of it as possible into your liver for later use. The liver can only hold a limited amount of blood sugar and then the excess starts to get dumped off into your muscle cells. Now your muscle cells can hold more of this glucose then your liver can however it also has its limit. By building more muscle you're going to be able to increase this limit and use more of the blood sugar for your muscles rather than storing it as fat, however again even the most muscular person on the planet is going to have a limit of how much of this blood glucose can actually be used by the muscles. Once that limit is reached we hit a point called spillover where the sugar that came from mostly carbohydrates in your diet will begin to be stored in fat cells in order to lower the sugar found in your blood stream to normal levels. So insulin is an anabolic hormone that causes weight gain and growth. The opposite hormone to insulin is a catabolic hormone known as glucagon which is released when blood sugar drops too low. Glucagon just like insulin goes in and acts as a bridge between the stored energy in your cells and your bloodstream. Except it has the inverse effect. So it pulls energy from your cells and dumps it into the bloodstream. Before your body will start pulling fat from fat cells for energy it will first pull that stored glucose from your liver and your muscle cells. This is why so many low carb diets work. When you don't have that many carbs it's easy for your body to use up the carbs stored in your muscles and your liver and then proceed straight to burning fat for energy. This is the same reason why ketogenic diets work. Except an added benefit to ketogenic diets is that your body becomes more efficient at using fat for energy which means more fat will burnt.

It is about the time that you are not eating. 31:24 Insulin inhibits lipolysis, stopping you from burning fat. 32:24 On a 7 day water only fast, your insulin falls and you switch from burning food to burning fat. 33:13 During fasting, as your insulin falls, you get a counter-regulatory hormone surge, increasing adrenaline, noradrenaline, growth hormone and cortisol. 33:53 There is a period of gluconeogenesis at around 24 hours into fasting. You will burn protein, not muscle. 35:40 If the old protein is never broken down, you cannot build new protein. 37:26 You get much better retention of lean mass with an intermittent fasting strategy over cutting calories. 38:24 Biggest Loser style diets sink metabolic rates. 42:15 Women can fast. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone. Women have higher ghrelin spikes. 43:01 If you don't eat over 24 hours ghrelin spikes 3 times, at breakfast, lunch and dinner, then drops. Hunger does not continue to increase. 45:04 Cravings disappear with fasting and keto. 49:38 You can eat high carb foods and keep low insulin. 51:09 Sugar is more fattening than other carbohydrates. 53:51 Natural foods have natural satiety mechanisms. 01:08:31 Type 2 diabetes is misunderstood by doctors. 01:10:08 Blood glucose is a symptom of type 2 diabetes. We treat the symptom, not the disease. 01:12:15 Type 2 diabetes is reversible, except for the very late stage. 01:16:42 The longer you've been overweight the more it effects weight loss. 01:18:08 There are conflicts of interest in medicine. Much evidence is produced by pharmaceutical companies. Universities take funding from industry and produce shoddy research. 01:30:21 Bias in nutrition science is rampant and has stymied the advancement of actual science. Special interest needs to be out of research.

Insulin Resistance Explained

04:02
A quick explanation of what insulin resistance is. In this 4 minute video, I explain insulin resistance and why it leads to fatigue, cravings and weight gain. For Dr. Becky's 4 Daily Habits visit http://www.drbeckyfitness.com/4dailyhabits Insulin is a hormone that is very important to your metabolism. It controls what happens to the carbohydrates you eat. When you eat carbs, your digestive tract breaks them down into sugar and sends the sugar (glucose) to your blood. Insulin carries the blood glucose to 3 cells: your liver cells, muscle cells, and fat cells, where it's stored for future energy. If you're insulin resistance, your cells are ''resistant'' to insulin. In other words, insulin takes the glucose to your cells, but your cells lock their doors and don't let the glucose inside. Your pancreas pumps out more insulin to force the doors open, but this increased insulin inhibits fat burning. Because the cells don't have glucose for energy, you feel tired and you crave more carbs. That's why insulin resistance causes fatigue, cravings, and weight gain. To fix insulin resistance: Sleep at least 7 hours Exercise regularly Diet: Choose slow-digesting carbohydrates For 4 daily habits to control insulin resistance and make weight loss easier, go to http://www.drbeckyfitness.com/4dailyhabits

How To Cure Diabetes Permanently - Natural Technique To "trick" Your Pancreas Into Doing its Job in Days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOx6wDFXphE&feature=youtu.be In Today's Presentation: Each year, 11,000 People Saw Their Type 2 Diabetes Mysteriously REVERSED, But Even Their Doctors Couldn’t Say Why Until a rogue diabetes researcher solved this decades-old medical mystery… Start using his natural, at-home treatment to reverse your Type 2 Diabetes without medication. 11 Pharmaceutical Giants Have Been Caught BRIBING Doctors to Prescribe Their Drugs Doctors are taking dirty money to prescribe insulin and diabetes medication regardless of the best treatment! Find out how to tell if you’re doctor is giving you the best treatment, or whether he’s on the big pharma payroll. The Breakthrough “Pancreas Jumpstart” Technique Will Lower Your Blood Sugar And Even REVERSE Your Type 2 Diabetes It fixes your insulin resistance so you can throw away your insulin injections and diabetes medication. Study after study has shown this natural technique works, regardless of how old you are, how long you’ve had the disease, or how high your blood sugar is. The “At-Home” Medical Discovery That Saved My Life I did it without relying on the pharmaceutical companies, or their “bandaid fix” medications. I couldn’t believe the results… Everyone who stuck to this program lowered their blood sugar and reversed their Type 2 Diabetes. In case you have questions, I’ve collected a couple of the most common ones here to answer: Does Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer really work? Yes! Like I said, virtually every single person who has completed the program has been able to reverse their diabetes. It jumpstarts your pancreas to start producing enough insulin again, and retrains your body to absorb and use that insulin. Obviously, you can’t just download the system and then never use it. Its works, if you work it. That’s why I’ve made it so simple to follow. How soon can I stop taking my medication? Remember, I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes, and then decide with your doctor when to go off your medication. Dr. Taylor’s study showed that within 8 weeks, every participant had brought their blood sugar down to normal levels, and reversed their disease. Around half reversed their disease at 4 weeks. The fastest recorded was 11 days. So depending on factors like your genetics, the severity of your disease, and how committed you are to the program, most people will destroy their Type 2 Diabetes in between 2 and 6 weeks. Is it scientifically proven? Absolutely. The Diabetes Destroyer System is based on research at Newcastle University in England, Harvard University here in the US, and dozens of other studies. There have been studies all over the world showing that these principles can reverse your type 2 diabetes. How difficult is this program? The first step is the toughest, but like I said: if you can say no to donuts and pizza once in a while, you can handle this temporary meal plan. And it’s obviously not too hard, since people all over the world have successfully used these methods. Plus, once you finish the first step, the next 2 are practically effortless. If for some reason it doesn’t work for you, just let me know, and I’ll refund your money 100%. Why is My Blood Sugar So High In The Morning

06:56
Get my prediabetes and diabetes type 2 management guide here to control your blood sugar better https://goo.gl/z7bR6y Morning blood sugar readings can sometimes be all over the place. Depending on what you had for dinner or what snacks you had during the evening. What time you took your medicine can play a factor as well. But if you have consistently high blood glucose readings every morning, it could be one of three reasons that we are going to discuss in this video. DAWN PHENOMENON Researchers feel the most common reason for high blood glucose levels in the morning is the dawn phenomenon. The glucose is going up from sources other than digested food. Some of it is produced by the liver from stored starch and fatty acids. Livers that produce too much glucose are one of the main ways diabetes causes high blood glucose levels. Other organs also produce small amounts of glucose. This is called “gluconeogenesis” for those of you who like the technical stuff. Organs produce glucose to keep blood glucose from going too low at night or other times of not eating. From about 2 AM to 8 AM, most people’s bodies produce hormones, including cortisol, glucagon, and epinephrine. All these hormones increase insulin resistance and tell the liver to make more glucose. The idea is to get you enough glucose to get out of bed and start the day. Everyone has a dawn phenomenon. Otherwise they’d be too weak to get breakfast. But in people without diabetes, insulin levels also increase to handle the extra glucose. People with diabetes can’t increase insulin levels that much, so their early morning blood glucose levels can rise dramatically. Experts disagree on how many people have a dawn phenomenon. Estimates range from 3% to 50% of Type 2s and from 25% to 50% of Type 1s. Is dawn phenomenon a serious problem? It can be serious. According to the American Diabetes Association, “Some people with dawn phenomenon find that their glucose continues to rise until they eat in the morning. For others, levels will settle down a few hours after waking, regardless of whether or not they eat.” According to columnist Wil Dubois, the higher your A1C, the more likely you are to have a significant dawn phenomenon. It could be that spending a number of hours each morning out of control is having a significant effect on your overall control. Some people have high glucose levels in the morning because their medicines wear off overnight. This could be true of medicines like insulin, and metformin. If you are taking any long-acting medicine, consider asking your doctor about changing meds, doses, or times THE SOMOGYI EFFECT In some cases, medicine can be too strong. If your glucose goes too low in the night, you could have a rebound high in the morning. This is called the Somogyi effect. If you are waking up high and are suffering pounding headaches, or find your sheets sweat-soaked, the odds are you are having lows in your sleep…You need to visit with your doctor about taking less meds. According to Dubois, the new insulins are much less likely to cause a Somogyi reaction. But because of cost, people are going back to NPH insulin. NPH is cheaper, shorter-acting, and more likely to cause a low, leading to a rebound high in the morning. WANING INSULIN If you take insulin and have been experiencing high blood sugar in the morning, your insulin may simply be wearing off too soon. If this is the case, your doctor can adjust your dosage or change what time you are taking the insulin to prevent high glucose levels. Pinpointing the Cause for Effective Treatment If your blood sugar is fairly even when you go to bed and at 3 a.m. but is higher in the morning, you are probably experiencing dawn phenomenon. If your blood sugar is low at 3 a.m., but high in the morning, you probably suffer from the Somogyi effect. If your blood sugar is elevated at 3 a.m. and then higher still in the morning, you probably have waning insulin. Even if you’ve identified the reason behind your high morning number, never attempt to correct it on your own. Instead, talk with your doctor. Together, you can find a treatment plan that gets you back on track in the morning. How can this situation be corrected? Once you and your doctor determine how your blood sugar levels are behaving at night, he or she can advise you about the changes you need to make to better control them. -Changing the time you take the long-acting insulin in the evening so that its peak action occurs when your blood sugars start rising -Changing the type of insulin you take in the evening -Taking extra insulin overnight -Eating a lighter breakfast -Increasing your morning dose of insulin -Switching to an insulin pump, which can be programmed to release additional insulin in the morning

Science Explains How Much Sleep You Need Depending on Your Age

09:21
How to Get Enough Sleep for Your Age. People usually think that 7–8 hours of sleep is enough, but that's not always the case. In fact, the number of hours you need to enjoy proper sleep depends and stay healthy depends on your age. Follow some simple rules to restore energy and get the most out of your recharge time. What happens when you experience a lack of sleep 1:09 If you constantly feel sleepy, are easily irritated, feel exhausted during the day, or often yawn, you most likely suffer from sleep deprivation. Not getting enough sleep also increases the risk of developing the following problems and diseases: exhaustion, depression, changes in hormone function, cardiovascular diseases, visual impairment, and diabetes. How much sleep is needed for your age 3:44 Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours a person needs to have a good night’s sleep. Newborns 0–3 months old need about 14–17 hours of sleep daily. If you're the parent of a 1- or 2-year-old toddler, make sure they sleep for no less than 11–14 hours every day. Kids from 6 to 13 years old still need more sleep than adults: 9–11 hours. Young adults of 18–25 years old need less sleep: just 7–9 hours every day. The same can be said about adults between 26 and 64 years of age: 7–9 hours are enough for them to rest. Elderly people older than 65 sleep even less: 7–8 hours a day. Each person has individual needs, which may change these numbers. People who are sick, stressed, or, on the contrary, extremely active need more sleep to recharge. How to get enough sleep and feel refreshed every day 5:36 Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. A fixed schedule will regulate your body clock. Don't overeat, have tonic drinks before bed, and avoid cigarettes and alcohol. Create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in your bedroom. The temperature in the room shouldn't be higher than 75ºF. A short walk in the fresh air before going to bed will help you fall asleep more quickly. Try not to use gadgets before going to bed, and turn off electrical appliances at night. Even if you aren't tired, you still need to go to bed at the same time every day. If you're lucky, you'll fall asleep after a short while. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Lack of sleep 1:09 Age and sleep 3:44 Sleep improvement 5:36 SUMMARY -Being sleep deprived negatively affects the quality of future bouts of sleep. Not getting enough sleep weakens your immune system and can have serious consequences. Your emotional state can also be affected by a lack of sleep. -Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours a person needs to have a good night’s sleep. The older a person is, the smaller amount of sleep recovery they need. -Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. Don't overeat or have tonics at night. Choose a comfortable bed and quality bedding. Try not to use gadgets before going to bed, and turn off electrical appliances at night. Avoid naps if you have problems with sleep. Okra Health Benefits | Does It Prevent Diabetes?

http://www.nutritionforest.com/blood-sugar-support.html http://www.nutritionforest.com Nutrition Forest Blood Sugar Support Made with an superb blend of herbs and nutrients, Blood Sugar Support is formulated to help the body maintain healthy blood sugar levels that are in the normal range. The key herbs include Cinnamon, Gymnema Sylvestre, Banaba, Bitter Melon, and Guggul. Also added are effective amounts of Chromium Picolinate, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. The recommended dose is one capsule three times daily with meals. While eating a sugary snack, fruit, and carbohydrates, it breaks down into glucose (blood sugar) that is important for energy in your cells. In order to get into that glucose into your cells, your body produces insulin that acts like the key unlocking the door. Excess glucose can lead to diabetes but excess insulin or insulin resistance is a problem too. Unfortunately, most people’s blood sugar is not properly balanced. If you’re getting too much glucose, it leads to high blood-sugar levels, which your body can’t break down and stores as fat. Ironically, not getting enough sugar can also lead to putting on extra pounds! Eating too little glucose can lead to a low blood sugar level, causing your body to go into “starvation mode” where it burns your lean muscle instead of the fat – a double whammy to your system and your diet. Maintaining healthy blood sugar levels in the normal range is not only critical for energy and mood, but also for cardiovascular, nervous system, and immune health . Since the typical diet is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars, it’s no wonder that such a high proportion of our population has blood sugar concerns. Hectic lifestyles, chronic stress , and genetic predispositions can also easily upset the delicate balance of physiological events that influence glucose and insulin levels. It is very important that blood sugar levels are kept as close to normal as possible. For most people with diabetes, a healthy range is between 90 and 130 mg/dl before meals and less than 180 mg/dl at one to two hours after a meal (see chart below). A doctor or health care provider can tell a person with diabetes about how and when to test blood sugar. It is helpful to keep a record of blood sugar readings several times during the day. diabetes type 2 diabetes diabetes symptoms symptoms of diabetes type 1 diabetes hypoglycemia glucose prediabetes diabetes mellitus low blood sugar blood sugar levels normal blood sugar low blood sugar symptoms hypoglycemia symptoms normal blood sugar level high blood sugar symptoms of low blood sugar glucose levels symptoms of high blood sugar blood glucose levels normal glucose levels high blood sugar symptoms glucose test glucometer how to lower blood sugar blood sugar chart juvenile diabetes symptoms of hypoglycemia fasting blood sugar blood sugar range what is normal blood sugar normal blood glucose levels diabetes test normal sugar level signs of low blood sugar normal blood sugar range blood sugar test what is hypoglycemia glucose meter high glucose levels blood sugar levels chart signs of high blood sugar causes of diabetes signs of hypoglycemia diabetes treatment normal fasting blood sugar continuous glucose monitoring blood glucose meters blood glucose sugar level lower blood sugar foods that lower blood sugar blood sugar monitor glucose level chart high glucose low blood sugar levels glucose monitor

How Does Whey Protein Affect Fat Loss and Insulin - Thomas DeLauer

Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Get Antler Farms Grass-Fed Whey Protein Here: https://www.antlerfarms.com/new-zealand-whey-protein-isolate.htm Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com How Does Whey Protein Affect Fat Loss and Insulin: Yep, whey protein can cause an increase in insulin, just like sugar! Learn about how it works! http://www.thomasdelauer.com How does whey protein affect insulin and fat loss? Isn't whey a protein, not a carb?? Effect of Whey Protein on Insulin Whey is one of the two main proteins in milk - the other is casein. Whey, like all proteins, is made up of amino acids, the building blocks of protein. When we consume protein, we then break down these amino acids and use them for muscle growth and tissue repair. Whey contains all three BCAAs along with all of the essential amino acids. Whey is highly insulinogenic - consuming whey leads to a sharp increase in insulin levels. This response does not have to do with blood sugar levels - when a food has a high glycemic index, consuming it will cause a large increase in blood sugar levels. In response to this, the body produces insulin to combat the high blood sugar and allow glucose to enter our cells for energy. This is not what is happening when we consume whey - insulin release is responding to amino acids, not glucose levels. Insulin binds to cells to allow them to take up energy, which can be glucose or amino acids from proteins. The amino acids in whey cause an insulin release. Whey also leads to the release of GIP and GLP-1, two gastrointestinal hormones that also raise insulin levels. This increase in insulin is actually a good thing! Whey is a fast acting protein, and the spike in insulin allows amino acids into the muscle cells to encourage repair, helping us to gain muscle and heal quickly. Consuming whey protein has actually been shown to lower blood glucose levels when consumed during or directly before a meal. A 2005 study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that when whey was combined in a high-sugar meal, individuals with type-2 diabetes had a lower blood glucose level following the meal than if no whey was consumed. This is thought to be because the increased insulin aided the body in glucose digestion. Generally, the better the whey, the higher the insulin spike and thus the more effective at delivering building blocks into the cells for the purpose or repair and growth. Best to consume whey directly following exercise. It is quickly broken down and made available to muscle cells for repair post workout. Whey protein isolate contains 90% protein and thus has less lactose, fat and cholesterol than whey protein concentrate. To get the most out of your protein, go for the whey protein isolate. You will experience less bloating and get more of the benefits - lean, ripped muscles. Too much protein is dangerous, so be sure not to consume excess protein. Excess protein can lead to increased fat storage and calcium loss, which can lead to osteoporosis. References: 1. The Role of Insulin in the Human Body

01:50
Developed and produced by http://www.MechanismsinMedicine.com Animation Description: This patient-friendly animation describes the main role of insulin in the human body. When food is ingested, it travels along the digestive tract where it is broken down into its component nutrients in order to be absorbed into the bloodstream. One such nutrient is glucose, a simple sugar. Glucose gets absorbed by the stomach and intestines and then enters the bloodstream. It travels through the circulation to all body cells. Once absorbed into the bloodstream, glucose circulates causing the blood sugar level to rise. An increased level of blood sugar sends a signal to the pancreatic beta cells, which respond by secreting the hormone insulin into the circulation. Insulin is necessary for glucose to reach and be used by several important target tissues throughout the body. These include the liver, muscle, and adipose tissue. Insulin is necessary to keep blood glucose levels stable in the body. Circulating insulin binds to specific insulin receptors located on the cell membrane of tissue cells throughout the body. Upon binding, a signal is sent to the nucleus of the cell, instructing it to transport glucose channels to the cell surface. These channels allow glucose to enter the cell. Glucose enters the cell through a process called facilitated diffusion.

Diabetes Mellitus Cure, & Prevention | ( PART 02 )

It is a silent killer by the word silent i men it’s a symmetric or it does not cause symptoms so and as i said initially also that symptoms of Diabetes start happening when blood sugar levels chart crossing to 250 - 300 so. So it doesn't mean that 180 200 220 are normal and we have realised that so body is not going to be able to handle 180 220 sugars and slowly the organs start get affected by the high sugar level mildly elevated sugar level and that can cause kidney diseases, so we actually come across lot of Patients who are diagnosed with diabetes if already have some nerve damage they already have some eye damage & Kidney damage. And this is all Because of this silent phase where it went undetected and undiagnosed. Regarding diabetes considered as mother of all diseases i would rather say it is insulin resistance, because it’s fats that creates insulin resistance which causes everything. Even if you are not diabetic insulin resistance causes hypertension which also increases your cardiac diseases your stroke risk, heart Attacks everything. It’s insulin resistance the real culprit that’s creating multiple problems. I would say all food is good, provided you know how to eat them, how to cook them and what proportion to eat them. Fruits and vegetables are good have 2 or 3 servings of Fruits. Lots of vegetables they are very good for health. Roti, dal, sabji & Rice they form the base of indian foods. Rice is good for health, no problems, wheat is also good. Generally when we process this rice we loose a good amount of Nutrients, so it’s better to have rice which is not processed or less processed, In Fact Brown rice is much better. Wheat, Jawahar, Bajri, Ragi they are more wholesome grains, you can start introducing them in daily diets, they also have less Glycemic index, and they are better for sugar controls. Generally you can have everything in moderations. Avoid high starch rice like Basmati rice they have very high glycemic Index. Home remedies if you are making it at home with your own hands, we are fiber with that lot of things that we use in the kitchen simplest being fenugreek seeds or what we call it Methi, which is actually been proved in the scientific laboratory to have glucose lowering effects, but you need to have 25 grams of Methi everyday which is like really bitter, you can soak them overnight drink the water, and add the seeds in salads make it more nutritious. Cumin, Jeera they all have beneficial effects but Methi is the only one to have scientifically proven effects on sugar. If you are disciplined and managed sugars well people live for 30 to 40 years of diabetes on just a couple of tablets. If you are maintaining your A1C levels just on your lifestyle measures you are doing a great job. It is very difficult to say if your diabetes is gone away you have kept it very well controlled. Keep going doing it. The long term complications of Diabetes as we know sugar effect circulate throughout your body so they will affect each and every organ of your body typically we would divide them into two sets microvascular complications which means diabetes affecting the eyes, specifically the Retina which is the back of your eye where damage happens where there is bleeding and this can affects your vision permanently. Secondly diabetic nephropathy and third is diabetic neuropathy. The other part is microvascular disease which happens related to the circulation in bigger organs like your Brains so causing strokes, brain attacks and your Heart causing Heart Attacks. And circulation of blood into your legs which can cause Gangrene which can lead to amputations. These are the typical complications of type 1 or type 2 diabetes long standing uncontrolled. Artificial sweeteners are definitely much better and safer most of them are USA FDA Approved so we would definitely recommend using sweeteners. Usually side effects happen to people using heavy doses of sweetners. People who are addicted to branded diet version of beverages. Consuming them in large quantities on a regular basis can cause problems. Sucralose based ones a safe but needs to have in moderations. The most popular question asked by most patients Can diabetes patients eat “Banana, chikoo, Grapes, Mango and Custard Apple” Although they are high in Glycemic Index they also have their nutritive values like Bananas are very good in Calcium, Custard Apple is very good in Calcium, Mangoes are very good in Vitamin A, Grapes in Vitamin C, so there are loaded benefits with these fruits though their glycemic index is high, so The key is to have these fruits properly, So you can Have Mangoes, Bananas, Grapes and Chickos but as a Thumb rule don’t have them with the meals. Definitely no Aam Raas with the sugars. Have the whole fruit typically after 2 or 3 hours after the meal or around mid morning snack. Don’t have it daily because it keeps spikes your sugars. And after eating go for a walk and burn out your calories.

What Will Happen If You Eat Nothing for 7 Days

10:52
How to Fast. What if you decided to quit eating for an entire week? Would it be dangerous for your body? Nowadays, many people prefer to stick to periodical water fasting, so they don't consume any food and drink apart from water. Water fasting should last for no more than a couple of days, and you should consult with a doctor beforehand. Among its benefits are lower blood pressure, improved insulin and leptin sensitivity, lower cholesterol levels, and weight loss. The first and most important thing is not to jump into a long session of water fasting right away. Your first experience with it should last for about 2 days. As you plan your 7-day water fasting, try to pick a low-stress time in your life. Doing this during exam season or when you're moving house isn't the best time. TIMESTAMPS What will happen to your body if you stop eating 0:58 What will happen after the first 6 hours 1:59 What will happen after 3 days 2:47 What will happen after a week 3:29 What will happen after a month or up to 70 days 3:46 What is water fasting 4:52 What is intermittent fasting 6:00 How to perform a water fast 7:31 What to do after you’re done with fasting 9:22 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -For the first 6 hours of your “no food” period, everything's going to be just fine. -After 6 hours, your body begins to starve since there's not enough glucose in your blood. -After 3 “no food” days, your brain goes to another extreme and starts to break down your body's protein. This happens because proteins release amino acids, which can be converted into the glucose your body so desperately needs. -After one “no food” week, your immune system becomes extremely weak because it isn’t receiving any vitamins or minerals. -Starvation may lead to death after almost a month or up to 70 days. -There's one rule when it comes to water fasting: you don't consume any food and drink apart from water. According to specialists, water fasting should last for no more than a couple of days, and a consultation with a doctor beforehand is obligatory. -If you want to water fast because of the weight loss factor, you have another option: intermittent fasting. This means eating nothing (or just a few calories) for a certain period of time and then eating as usual for another period. -The first and most important thing is not to jump into a long session of water fasting right away. Your first experience with it should last for about 2 days. Listen to your body carefully during your first water fasting. -When you're done with your fasting, you should break it slowly. Easily digested foods like soups, juices, pureed fruit, white rice, and mashed potatoes are the best products for your first 2 days. Your Ears Can Indicate Your Health: Don't Ignore These 8 Factors

10:10
It is a normal hygienic procedure to clean our ears once every few days. However, not all of us know that ear wax can also indicate the state of our health. With the help of a Q-tip, you can check the color of your ear wax and understand what it means. TIMESTAMPS What do we know about the human ear? 0:35 Ear wax of a gray color 1:28 Ear wax with traces of blood 2:09 Ear wax of a brown color 3:02 Ear wax of a black color 3:40 Ear wax of a white color 4:25 Ear wax with an unpleasant smell 5:14 Liquid ear wax 6:03 Dry earwax 6:36 See a doctor if you have the following symptoms 7:06 What you shouldn't do to avoid any problems 8:14 Three most interesting facts about your ears 8:47 SUMMARY Ear wax is not a body waste to get rid of regularly, quite the contrary - it's a kind of protection. It keeps the ear canal lubricated, therefore, prevents the ears from itching. Moreover, it prevents different pollutants from entering the inner ear. Even more surprisingly, this substance has antibacterial properties. Our body is a clever mechanism. Did you know that when we chew, the movement pushes ear wax to the outer part of the ear? This way, your ears self-clean! If your ears tend to produce a big amount of ear wax creating a build-up, you can take some preventive measures yourself. - It's effective to use agents softening the wax. They can be mineral or baby oil, or ear drops. It is enough to put a few drops of these substances into your ear once a week to soften the ear wax and help it to come out faster and with ease. - Another way to take care of your ears is to buy a special at-home kit for their irrigation. If you have a heart condition, diabetes, know anyone in your family and friends who does or think you may be at risk in the future this conversation with Dr. Ronesh Sinha & Nutritionist Dr. Prerna Uppal can be the difference between leading a life with disease vs one that’s free of any risk factors.
