The Understanding by Design Guide to Creating High-Quality Units - Jay McTighe

06:41
The Understanding by Design Guide to Creating High-Quality Units offers instructional modules on the basic concepts and elements of Understanding by Design (UbD), the "backward design" approach used by thousands of educators to create curriculum units and assessments that focus on developing students' understanding of important ideas. The eight modules are organised around the UbD Template Version 2.0 and feature components similar to what is typically provided in a UbD design workshop, including: Discussion and explanation of key ideas in the module; Guiding exercises, worksheets and design tips; Examples of unit designs; Review criteria with prompts for self-assessment; and a list of resources for further information. www.hbe.com.au http://www.hbe.com.au/the-understanding-by-design-guide-to-creating-high-quality-units.html http://www.hbe.com.au/jay-mctighe.html

If you're serious about decluttering for good, learn about different systems to figure out what might work for you. amazon.com 3. Sort through your reusable plastic containers to find the ones you use most often, then repurpose a shallow plastic bin as a giant drawer in your cabinet and use a shoebox for the lids. http://www.everyday-organizing.com/2014/03/taming-tupperware.html 4. Keep an "Eat Me First" plastic bin in your fridge for all the food that's close to expiring or goes bad kind of quickly. http://mssimplicity.areavoices.com/2013/01/25/clean-out-your-fridge/ 5. Ditch the pile of half-empty tea boxes for a bamboo tea chest that'll hold 80+ teabags. amazon.com 6. Keep your food fresher longer and make your pantry and cabinets look neat AF by storing snacks, pasta, beans, and more in air-tight storage containers. amazon.com 7. Secure the cords to the appliances you only use every once in a while with Command strips. http://www.jenthousandwords.com/2012/03/cord-control.html 8. If you have piles of plastic grocery bags, keep only the ones that'll fit in an empty tissue box or grocery bag dispenser, and recycle the rest. amazon.com 9. Move your kids favorite games to stacking plastic containers or small drawers that are all the same size, so they make a neat, easy stack. https://www.infarrantlycreative.net/playroom-ideas/ 10. If you have a DVD collection you'd like to downsize, move 'em to organized binders (using binder inserts) and recycle the cases and covers. http://unclutteredlifestyle.blogspot.com/2012/03/making-standard-binders-pretty.html 17. Store everything from extra bedding to out-of-season clothes in space bags: whether you store 'em under your bed or in a spare closet, everything will take up less space. amazon.com 18. If you tend to dump your mail and forget about it, set up a mail filing station so you can sort and file your mail the moment you bring it in. https://www.cleanandscentsible.com/organize-paper-work-creating-paper-trail/ 19. try out an app like Poshmark or Letgo to see if you can make a few bucks. poshmark.com 20. Understanding Car Crashes: It's Basic Physics

22:15
What happens to vehicles and their occupants in crashes is determined by science. "You can't argue with the laws of physics," says Griff Jones, award-winning high school physics teacher who goes behind the scenes at the Institute's Vehicle Research Center to explore the basic science behind car crashes. Using a series of vehicle maneuvers on a test track plus filmed results of vehicle crash tests, Jones explains in anything but lecture style the concept of inertia, the relationship between crash forces and inertia, momentum and impulse, and a lot more. Quote from Paul G. Hewitt, the developer of the "Conceptual Physics" curriculum and author of the best selling text book by the same name: "The video "Understanding Car Crashes: It's Basic Physics" and accompanying teacher's guide are wonderful. The pacing is excellent, the coverage fascinating, and most importantly, the physics is correct. It's a first rate teaching package. I give it five stars!" Cognitive Approach to Enhancing Students' Critical Thinking in STEM - Stephanie J. Slater, Ph.D.

56:29
In this keynote presentation to the Australian Science Teachers Association, Stephanie J. Slater from the CAPER Center for Astronomy & Physics Education Research (http://www.caperteam.com) argues that much of the rhetoric focused on improving science teaching calls for teachers to invoke a student-centered, inquiry-oriented approach to instruction. Clearly easier to say than to actually implement, one wonders if such a contemporary approach to the teaching of science can effectively enhance students' critical thinking. Recent research results in cognitive science now offer new pathways for building effective and engaging learning experiences that directly target students' critical thinking and intellectual engagement in complex scientific concepts. By combining notions of cognitive overload and scaffolding, we have developed a backwards-faded scaffolding approach that dramatically enhances students' understandings of the nature of scientific inquiry, as well as their conceptual understanding of science.

06:46
The inaugural MT^2: MƒA Master Teachers on Teaching event was held on December 18, 2012 at Math for America NY. From statistics to engineering to computer modeling, nine MƒA Master Teachers presented examples that tied in with the theme of "Modeling in the Classroom," one of two instructional practices emphasized by the New York City Department of Education this year. The MT^2 event featured original, thought provoking presentations where Master Teachers discussed ways that modeling comes to life in their math classroom. Here, MƒA Master Teacher Gary Rubinstein presents, "The Math In the Moon."

Robert Otey/77GSlinger Axes Flat Earth Psyops False Frame Job and Oroville Dam Disaster Parasites

03:45
After debunking dozens of the idiotic claims of flat earth fruitcakes for the past 2 and a half years I have tried to avoid this flat earth psychosis as long as possible, so as not to give it any more lame attention than it has already mustered, but now they have gone too far and are stealing my work and falsely framing it and pretending that I support their Flat Earth psyops drivel. This exposes immediately the low life nature of these shills, who will go to any length to promote their psyops program for the destruction of the truth movement. They have wrapped their ugly tentacles around every provable conspiracy in order to bring them down with them when they fall. This entire mind control agenda is aimed at destroying the work so many brave people have done to expose the shysters running this planetary racket! My work has to be seen in it's full context. People stealing parts of it to make money and pretend like it is their work, makes the work unintelligible. So, who are they working for to destroy my message of hope and change along with proven solutions to all of our major problems? This is especially important on my 8 part series designed to expose the design flaws in the Spillway, the environmental disaster of clear cutting forests, the backwards way of moving water and generating electricity, as well as offering proven solutions to fixing these problems. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm4HarLq5a6LZjf0i69FhFZHOeWKd44TU Anyone who dissects my series and shows only one or few of the vids ruins the entire message I have worked so hard to produce and have given to humanity for free! This is a crime and a method of diluting the truths I teach in my work. The people who do this are of the lowest order of parasites and I am here exposing only a handful of these cretins so as to make an example of them! Here are a few of the Flat Earth Tards who have illegally used my material and are falsely framing me, like I am one of them, while monetizing my work and profiting from it, by fully misrepresenting everything I have worked the past 25 years for and given to humanity as a free gift of love to help raise humanity out of the pit of mind controlled darkness. The lists of youtube channels stealing my work and monetizing it here, is not remotely complete. This is just to give an idea of how rampant theft and misrepresentation goes here on the tube.
