8 Signs Your Body Is Begging for Vitamin D

08:21
What are the signs of vitamin D deficiency? Vitamin D greatly influences the systems of our body from ensuring calcium supply to our bones to strengthening our immune system. We normally get this vitamin from foods, supplements, and the sun’s rays, but when something goes wrong and we face vitamin D deficiency, our body systems may break. For example, sweating that seems a little excessive or not brought on by anything particularly obvious, however, can be a sign that you’re lacking vitamin D. So what other signs show a deficiency, how serious is the problem, and what can you do to get more of it? Here at Bright Side, we’ve studied the most common symptoms of low vitamin D levels and we want to tell you what we’ve found. TIMESTAMPS: You sweat excessively 1:01 Your bones often ache 1:35 You have muscle pain 2:11 You get sick all the time 2:47 You can’t seem to stay energized 3:26 When you get cuts or bruises, they take forever to heal 4:03 You notice more hair falling out of your head than usual 4:52 You can’t shake the feeling of sadness 5:25 What can you do to get more of vitamin D? 6:26 #vitamind #vitamindeficiency #lackofvitamins Preview photo credit: FORT MEADE, Md. Sweat drips down the face of a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier from the 200th Military Police Command during a Spin class as part of a Performance Triad program organized by the command and hosted on Fort Meade, Maryland, May 9, 2017. The three-week fitness program took place from May 5-25 to help Soldiers who had either failed the Army Physical Fitness Test or had been on the Army Body Fat Composition program. The camp focused on the triad of overall health: physical fitness, nutrition and sleep, by providing education and personalized coaching to Soldiers in all three of those phases of life and more: By Master Sgt. Michel Sauret/U.S. Army Reserve, https://www.usar.army.mil/News/Images/igphoto/2001753153/ Animation is created by Bright Side. Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - Without vitamin D, your bones can’t absorb the necessary amount of calcium to create healthy bone tissue, causing a weakening of the bones known as osteomalacia. - In addition to aching bones and muscles, a lack of vitamin D can cause chronic pain throughout the entire body. This debilitating condition is known as fibromyalgia, and it makes life a living nightmare for those who suffer from it! - Suffering from your 4th or 5th virus this year? It may be because a lack of vitamin D is causing your immune system to work poorly. - It’s 4 pm and you feel like you have two bricks as eyelids and barely have the strength to get up from your desk. Sound familiar? There could be quite a few reasons for this feeling. But it can also be due to a lack of vitamin D. - Does it seem like your small wounds and injuries take longer to heal than everyone else’s? But this kind of slow healing can also be because of a lack of (say it with me) vitamin D! - The average person loses anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs from their head every day. But if you suffer from a lack of vitamin D, you can lose way more than that, at least enough to notice that something’s definitely not right. - According to Psychology Today, vitamin D is the only vitamin that is also a hormone. In studies on the relationship between vitamin D and depression, scientists discovered traces of the vitamin on cells found in the regions where depression resides. - Vitamin D can be attained by spending time outside. According to The Arthritis Foundation, spending 10-15 minutes in the sun every other day or so can help replenish your vitamin D levels. Even sitting by an open window can help give you more vitamin D! The Healing Power of Sunlight

04:35
Sunlight. It has great healing power. Our Raw Vegan Health Cookbook: http://www.markusworld.com/healthycookbook/powsun Facebook: http://www.markusworld.com/facebook/powsun Instagram: http://www.markusworld.com/instagram/powsun Markus Rothkranz website: http://www.markusworld.com/Markus/powsun Online Health Store: http://www.markusworld.com/products/powsun German website: http://www.markusworld.com/german/powsun Life cannot exist without sunlight. Sunlight is healthy for you. It gives you more energy, you get sick less, it helps build stronger bones and teeth, helps the immune system and the list goes on. It also gives you the best form of vitamin D. Vitamin D protects you from many diseases; and no, you don’t get cancer from sunlight. You get cancer because you’re not healthy. Eating poorly causes toxins in the body and as they come to the skin’s surface they can turn to melanoma. Then what about overexposure? OK, eat healthy. Eat greens as it will protect the body from the inside just as chlorophyll protects plants. God doesn’t make mistakes; we are designed to be in the sun. Researchers in Sweden followed 30,000 women over 20 years who avoided sunbathing during the summer are twice as likely to die as those who sunbath every day…. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/joim.12251/abstract Abstract. Results. There were 2545 deaths amongst the 29 518 women who responded to the initial questionnaire. We found that all-cause mortality was inversely related to sun exposure habits. The mortality rate amongst avoiders of sun exposure was approximately twofold higher compared with the highest sun exposure group, resulting in excess mortality with a population attributable risk of 3%. Sunscreen causes skin cancer. http://www.jabfm.org/content/24/6/735.full Abstract. Many primary care providers advise patients to use sunscreen as a means to reduce their risk for skin cancer, especially cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM). Despite the availability and promotion of sunscreen for decades, the incidence of CMM continues to increase in the U.S. at a rate of 3% per year. There currently is little evidence that sunscreens are protective against CMM. A number of studies suggest that the use of sunscreen does not significantly decrease the risk CMM, and may actually increase the risk of CMM and sunburns…. Vitamin D protects the body from Multiple sclerosis, diabetes, …and many other diseases http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/19381980.2016.1248325 Abstract…….This review considers the studies that have shown a wide range health benefits from sun/UV exposure. These benefits include among others various types of cancer, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer disease/dementia, myopia and macular degeneration, diabetes and multiple sclerosis. The message of sun avoidance must be changed to acceptance of non-burning sun exposure sufficient to achieve serum 25, OH, D, concentration of 30 ng/mL or higher in the sunny season and the general benefits of UV exposure beyond those of vitamin D. Diet and lifestyle cause cancer http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancercauses/dietandphysicalactivity/diet-and-physical-activity Research has shown that poor diet and not being active are 2 key factors that can increase a person’s cancer risk. Besides quitting smoking, some of the most important things you can do to help reduce your cancer risk are: Get to and stay at a healthy weight throughout life. Be physically active on a regular basis. Make healthy food choices with a focus on plant-based foods. The evidence for this is strong. The World Cancer Research Fund estimates that about 20% of all cancers diagnosed in the US are related to body fatness, physical inactivity, excess alcohol consumption, and/or poor nutrition, and thus could also be prevented. Sunlight has many benefits…oxygenates skin, lowers blood pressure, wounds and bones heal faster, improves eyesight…, and much more. People that get lots of sun….gain many benefits.... http://www.who.int/uv/faq/uvhealtfac/en/index1.html The sun's rays provide warmth and light that enhance your general feeling of well-being and stimulate blood circulation. Some UV radiation is essential to the body as it stimulates the production of vitamin D. Vitamin D has an important function in increasing calcium and phosphorus absorption from food and plays a crucial role in skeletal development, immune function and blood cell formation. Five to 15 minutes of casual sun exposure of hands, face and arms two to three times a week during the summer months is sufficient to keep your vitamin D levels high. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2013-05/uoe-scb050713.php https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2290997/ http://www.wakingtimes.com/2015/01/20/sunlight-not-cause-skin-cancer/ http://jnci.oxfordjournals.org/content/91/15/1304.long http://www.medical-hypotheses.com/article/S0306-9877%2808%2900599-9/abstract

What Are Vitamin D Deficiency Symptoms?

06:05
For more info: https://draxe.com/vitamin-d-deficiency-symptoms/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Apr-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=vitaminddeficiency In this video I’m going to talk about the benefits of vitamin D as well as symptoms of vitamin D deficiency. In certain studies, Americans has been found to be the #1 population in vitamin D deficiency. Some of the main symptoms of vitamin D deficiency are a weakened immune system, candida or bacterial overgrowth, emotional ups and downs, hormone imbalance, trouble putting on muscle or losing weight, weakened bones or teeth, cancer, heart disease, or diabetes. Vitamin D supports having a healthy immune response, digestive health, hormone balance, and more. The biggest causes of vitamin D deficiency are not getting enough sunlight, certain chemicals from plastic bottles (bpa), and toxicity. Try to get outside everyday for about 20-30 minutes of natural sunlight. Certain foods that are sources of vitamin D are wild caught fish, raw fermented milk, mushrooms, and eggs. However, there are small amounts in the food you eat. For a good supplement, I would recommend a high quality vitamin D supplement. You don’t want to take vitamin D2, but you do want to take vitamin D3. For supplementation, take about 2000-5000 IUs a day. However, if you have a severe deficiency, then for 1-2 months, you may take 5000 IUs twice daily. Lastly, you want to take your vitamin D3 with some form of fat like coconut oil or avocado to help absorption in your body. Vitamin D kills the flu virus so STOP BLOCKING OUR SUNLIGHT !

06:26
Did you know JP-8 jet fuel exposure suppresses the immune response to viral infections?- http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19022873?ordinalpos=1&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DiscoveryPanel.Pubmed_Discovery_RA&linkpos=2&log$=relatedarticles&logdbfrom=pubmed So why are they spraying chemtrails or chemical contrails which block out natural sunlight? WHY are they doing this? If the World Health Organisation were so concerned about the swine flu pandemic they would be aware that natural sunlight is a very good source for the body to make vitamin D and would be concerned about the artificial cloud covering which is being created by aircraft now worldwide. My first videos in April 2009 started with the heavy chemtrail spraying in my area showing blue skies turn a hazy white blocking out the sun for the rest of the day. I know from users who contact me that there is a 24/7 campaign of chemical spraying in the atmosphere in the USA. From my research I found that chemicals could be added to aviation fuel. Please see my video: CHEMTRAILS CHEMICALS ADDED TO AVIATION FUEL GOVERNMENT DOCUMENT NOW ONLINE- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIPgdZcQUws For the DEFRA documents. DEFRA says chemicals added to aviation fuel can be a cost effective way to spray a so-called protective screen as to block out the suns rays and reduce global warming. ( This however would have an opposite effect. Please look up Global Dimming and the Hydrological Cycle on Google. ) BUT, is this really about protecting the earth or is it about stopping you receiving natural sunlight and making vitamin D? Vitamin D is important for helping the immune system fight the flu virus. One reason why the flu may be more contagious in the winter time is because of the lack of sunlight. The lack of sunlight prevents our skin from producing sufficient levels of vitamin D. There is now documented evidence about the roles of solar ultraviolet-B radiation and vitamin D in reducing case-fatality rates from the 1918-1918 influenza Pandemic in EU. I quote: There are two mechanisms whereby vitamin D can reduce the risk of death once the pandemic influenza virus infection took hold: reduced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and reduced risk of bacterial pneumonia. The type of vitamin D which can fight viruses can ONLY be made from natural sunlight. It is known as D3, which is made from sunlight when 7-dehydrocholesterol in our skin reacts with UV light. I quote: It is then twice activated in the liver and kidney to make 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D. This attaches to receptors on genes that control their expression, which turn protein production on or off. Vitamin D regulates the expression of more than 1,000 genes throughout the body. They include genes in macrophages, cells in the immune system that, among other things, ATTACK AND DESTROY VIRUSES. A report in The Washington Post on August 3rd 2009 says: Millions of Children In U.S. are Found to Be Lacking Vitamin D- http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/08/02/AR2009080202114.html There are articles documenting that exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation in sunlight before immunization suppresses systemic as well as local immune responses- http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19450899?ordinalpos=6&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum Which mean the vaccination doesnt work so well as a unsuppressed immune response is needed to build up anti-bodies and immunity to that particular vaccine. So another reason to block out the natural sunlight. If our governments were so concerned about the swine flu surely they would put a stop to these climate change experiments which blocks out everyones natural sunlight. The fact that they or the media will not even report on the chemtrails happening above us only leads me to be more suspicious of what the chemical spraying is really about. Epidemic Influenza And Vitamin D- http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/51913.php Repeated Aerosol-vapor JP-8 Jet Fuel Exposure Affects Neurobehavior and Neurotransmitter Levels in a Rat Model- http://www.scribd.com/doc/17102227/Baldwin-Figueredo-Wright-Wong-Witten-2007 This video is a re-upload from tarot1984s channel- http://www.youtube.com/user/tarot1984

Benefits Of Sunlight - What Vitamin Do You Get From The Sun

01:47
Benefits of Sunlight – What Vitamin Do You Get from the Sun? Get our Free Book - Natural Health Remedies http://healthswat.com/FreeRemedyBook Benefits of Sunlight – What Vitamin Do You Get from the Sun? Without the sun, life on earth is impossible. No living being can thrive without the sun. There are numerous benefits of sunlight, some of which are detailed in this article. What Vitamin Do You Get from the Sun? So, what vitamin do you get from the sun and why is life so dependent on it? An essential vitamin we get from the sun is vitamin D. Vitamin D plays numerous roles in the body. It is found to be inside the entire body and is also present in white blood cells. Thus, a deficiency of vitamin D can make you prone to flu and sickness. It is also a crucial element for strong bone and muscle formation. It helps the body absorb calcium, and low levels of vitamin D can cause diseases such as rickets which makes the bones soft and brittle. Furthermore, this vitamin helps regulate blood pressure and kidney functions. Benefits of Sunlight It is difficult to sum up all of the benefits of sunlight as there are so many and many more are yet to be discovered. According to a research done at University of Edinburgh, as soon as you are exposed to sunlight, a compound known as nitric oxide is released in the bloodstream that helps decrease blood pressure, which automatically lowers the risk of a stroke and heart attack. Sunshine also helps treat skin problems such as acne and eczema and skin redness. Research has found that a specific ultraviolet ray from the sun can be effective for killing germs and bacteria by causing mutations in the DNA of the bacteria, which gradually stops them from further reproducing. Another advantage is particularly valid for babies. According to studies, the height and growth of a child are affected by exposure to the sun as sun is a vital element in bone and muscle formation. Sunlight also helps you stay awake. When you are exposed to the sun, the secretion of a hormone known as melatonin (sleep hormone) decreases in the body, which helps you stay awake and alert through the day. Furthermore, sunlight is known to prevent Alzheimer’s disease to some extent. Moreover, serotonin is a hormone, also known as the happy chemical, which is released in the brain when you are exposed to sunlight. Serotonin is responsible for boosting the state of the mind and helping you feel calm and centered. Low levels of serotonin in the body due to less exposure to sunlight are known to cause depression and poor memory. Although there are many benefits of sunlight, you should still be careful about exposing yourself to the sun for long durations as that too can be harmful. Always wear sunscreen before stepping out into the sun. The Sun Exposure Cancer Myth

04:21
Keto Health Summit: https://www.ketohealthsummit.com/tickets DATA: https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/sun-exposure-cancer/ https://academic.oup.com/jnci/article/97/3/161/2544132 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5129901/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23237739 https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/03/07/dose-sunshine-exposure-could-cut-risk-cancer-one-fifth/ In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the relationship between UV light, sun and Cancer. Dr. Dan Coit, a surgical oncologist that research melanomas or cancers of the skin and he found out that they are not related to sun exposure. Melanocytes are cells in the skin that release melanin that protects our skin against UV light. You get vitamin D from the sun and vitamin D is very protective against a lot of different types of cancer. He also talks about how some chemicals from the sunscreen can actually trigger cancer. Hey guys so i want to talk about the relationship between the uv light, sun and cancer. So there's definitely the thought out there that you need to stay out of the sun because it it's going to cause cancer and i just want to talk about the different aspects because that is not hundred percent true. There's a really good doctor that you should look into if you wanted to know more information about this. He is a surgical oncologist and his name is Dr. Dan Coit. He research melanomas which are the cancer of the skin. And he basically found out they are not related to the sun exposure. Which is quite interesting. Melanocytes are cells in the skin that release melanin which is a pigment that protects our skin against that UV light. That is what supposed to happen. Now you when you get sun you get vitamin D and Vitamin d is very protective against cancer not just in the skin but in a lot of different types of cancer. So why would the sun give you cancer if the sun gives you vitamin D that’s suppose to protect you against cancer. Here's what i think that is happening I think of a couple things number one If you're consuming a lot of sugar that you are setting your body up for a lot of oxidative damage. And you get a repetitive sunburns which causes inflammation and which we know cancer tends to go in the areas of the inflammation. So that's bad and you don't want to do that but the other thing is sunscreen actually have chemicals that are carcinogenic. Some of the chemicals of some of the sunscreen Actually can trigger cancer. So here you are putting stuff in your skin its absorbing into the bloodstream number one and number two it is blocking the vitamin D absorption so now you don't have the benefit of vitamin D but we get the chemicals because we are thinking that “Oh yea it is the sun that is causing the cancer” So we need the kind of align this information into something that makes sense. First of all you don't want to over do it with the sun. You don't want to also do tanning beds because you are getting a different type of UV. It is true that the sun does give some radiation that does cause damage in the cells but normally we are supposed to have antioxidants in our cells that protects us. Normally we supposed to have enough vitamin D to protect us and enough melanin in the skin to protect us. So i think if you are consuming very healthy foods a lot of antioxidant and you're not overdoing it with too much sun so you don't get burned, I believe that the sun is going to be healthy for the skin. D is for Debacle - The Crucial Story of Vitamin D and Human Health

01:21:39
Leveraging the knowledge of the foremost experts in the field, I can now release what I believe is a comprehensive explanation of the Vitamin D story. It's benefits are difficult to disentangle from those of healthy Sun Exposure though - the beneficial effects of D status may be hugely due to the sun exposure that got your D up! I use sun and UV sources to achieve my D levels as a result, not supplementation. Other key elements like K2, A, Mg etc are inextricably linked also, but here we focus mainly on D. Reverse Causality applies also - people who have inflammatory issues and are obese may drive down their D status, but data on this is sparse - but keep it in mind. Also important is that DAILY supplementation rather than big bolus dosing is used - the half-life of D3 is only a couple of days. This Seminar is of interest to Mothers & their Children particularly (e.g. see 15:00:00 to 21:00:00 segment), to avoid probability of serious chronic diseases, in childhood and beyond. The main message is that blood levels of D should be targeted towards healthy evolutionary levels, ideally through access to UVB / healthy sun exposure (NO burning). So to stress again: there is a lot of associational "correlation but possibly not causation" data in this, and there is every possibility that Sun exposure delivers more benefits than D3 supplements (by the production of many other photoproducts in the skin), and also the modern carb-inflamed/diseased population may be causal in driving down 25(OH)D status (e.g. the obese people with low D - is it their fat sequestering away the D, or is their inflammation driving down their status?) Anyway, thanks for watching! Ivor Cummins BE(Chem), CEng MIEI December 2014

Vitamin D - Synthesis and Roles in the Body

04:10
This is a brief overview of how Vitamin D is synthesised in the body, how it acts on the vitamin D receptor and what effects it has on the body. Vitamin D can be made in the skin when it's exposed to sunlight. First cholesterol is turned into 7 dehydrocholesterol by an enzyme called dhcr7. UVB radiation from the sun, then turns this into previtamin D, which spontaneously transforms into vitamin D at body temperature. This actually means that because Vitamin D can be made by the body, it's technically not a vitamin, since a vitamin by definition is something that can't be made by the body. There are 5 forms of vitamin D found in nature, but the body only makes one, Vitamin D3, also called cholecalciferol. Even when vitamin D has been synthesised from cholesterol, it is still not active, and there are two more steps needed until it becomes active. The first step is the conversion to calcidiol, which happens in the liver. Calcidiol is then converted to calcitriol which is the active form of vitamin D. This step happens primarily in the kidney and is controlled by parathyroid hormone, calcium and phosophate concentrations in the blood, and the concentration of calcitriol in the blood. Now that our vitamin D is finally active it circulates in the blood and acts like a hormone. When it reaches the cell, it binds to the vitamin D receptor also called the calcitriol receptor. This whole thing then forms a big complex with the retinoid X receptor, or RXR receptor. Finally the RXR receptor needs to be bound by Vitamin A, making a big structure composed of calcitriol, the vitamin D receptor, the RXR receptor and vitamin A. This complex won't be active until Vitamin A is present, which effectively means that Vitamin D is useless unless Vitamin A is also available in the cell. When activated, this complex binds specific areas of DNA and increases transcription of some dna and decreases transcription of other dna. functions of vitamin D Probably the most famous role of vitamin D is to increase the level of calcium in the blood. it does this by Promoting absorption of calcium from the gastrointestinal tract, meaning that we get more calcium from the food that we eat Reducing the amount of calcium that is lost in the urine, by Increasing reabsorption in the kidneys stimulating calcium release from bone by activating osteoclast cells Vitamin D also has effects on the parathyroid gland. It acts to stop parathyroid cells from proliferating too much. when the parathyroid gland becomes vitamin D deficient, it starts to grow to a bigger size than it is meant to and secretes too much parathyroid hormone, resulting in hyperparathyroidism. Vitamin D stops parathyroid cells from proliferating too much Vitamin D also has a role in the immune system with vitamin D deficiency and excess both having negative effects. Macrophages, dendritic cells, B cells and T cells can respond to and synthesise calcitriol. Earlier I said that the conversion of calcidiol to calcitriol happens primarily in the kidney but another place that this can happen is in immune cells. Vitamin D can also lead to the production of antibacterial peptides such as cathelicidin and beta defensin 4. These work by disrupting the cell membranes of bacteria, causing them to die. Summary So, in summary, the skin produces vitamin D from cholesterol when exposed to UVB sunlight. Vitamin D is converted to Calcitriol and is then active The most well known role of calcitriol is in calcium metabolism, but it has many other effects, such as in the immune system and on the parathyroid gland Future videos are going to look the roles of vitamin D in more detail, the amount of vitamin D that humans need and how the recommended daily allowance has been determined, the studies that have been done on vitamin D supplementation, what happens in deficiency and excess, and how prevalent vitamin D deficiency is.

Best ways to increase Vitamin D levels? - Ms. Sushma Jaiswal

03:03
The best way to obtain Vitamin D from nature is to expose your body to sunlight. In India, the pollution levels are also too high. According to WHO reports, Indian cities are among the very polluted cities in the world. So in order not to expose our lungs to the polluted air, we have to take sunbath very early in the morning when the pollution settles down. So in the mooning it is relatively fresh air. So it is the best time to take sunbath or expose your body to the sun. St out in the balcony or take a walk in the open area with little bit of sunlight and little bit of shadow. This is one method, which I the easiest and least expensive. Sunlight can directly be absorbed in your body and can directly manufacture Vitamin D in the body. Another thing is take Vitamin D rich foods like milk and milk products, eggs, some fishes, liver. Fishes like salmon, mackerel, sardines etc which are rich in Vitamin D. fortification of food another process. It is more common in western countries and in India the technology has not yet come. So if we want to take Vitamin D supplements, it is another way. These supplements come in various ways like synthetic supplements which has a lot of chemical composition again is very harmful to your only because in order to prevent Vitamin D deficiency , you are taking some chemicals. Everyday our chemical consumption is around 3000 chemicals per day and then we are increasing the consumption again in some other way, there are some natural supplements, organic supplements and there are some supplements which are emulsion of 2 or 3 types of supplements. So you choose wisely which type of supplement is useful for you and take the call. So stay healthy.

How to Naturally Overcome Vitamin D Deficiency

06:19
For more on naturally overcoming Vitamin D deficiency, you can check my article: http://draxe.com/vitamin-d-deficiency/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Nov-2014&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=vitamind In this video, I’m going to talk about how to overcome Vitamin D deficiency with diet and lifestyle. Vitamin D is a prohormone, which is essential for balancing the hormones in your body, and a fat-soluble vitamin, which supports the brain, bones, and tissue. Some warning signs that you may be Vitamin D deficient are if you struggle with any type of mood disorder, autoimmune disease, weak bones, weak muscles, or poor immune system. In order to overcome a Vitamin D deficiency, you may want to get outside more often to get 20-30 minutes of natural sunlight. The average person should be getting about 5000 IUs a day. You also want to be consuming more Vitamin D-rich foods like wild-caught fish, raw fermented dairy products, egg yokes, and mushrooms. Lastly, you want to be consuming a high quality Vitamin D3 supplement (5000 IUs daily). If you want to overcome Vitamin D deficiency, follow these steps and you will start seeing results! *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. The Benefits of Vitamin D | HealthiNation

Find out how to get your daily dose of essential "D's". Related Videos: How to Lower Sugar in Your Diet | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/1LA4ENMSwmE Calcium Rich Diets | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/AaUsAm5kZvw Vitamin D is an essential nutrient. But did you know that an estimated one billion people around the world do not have enough of it in their bodies? This includes two-thirds of the American population. It may surprise you to learn that vitamin D is actually a hormone. This hormone circulates in the blood and supports the whole body, including helping with calcium and phosphorus absorption. It plays an important role in building bones. A deficiency of vitamin D in adults can lead to thin, brittle bones—a condition called osteoporosis. Vitamin D has been in the news a lot lately. That is because we have learned that its effects extend far beyond bones. Tissues throughout the body respond to it. Vitamin D is a powerful anti-inflammatory, so it is thought to play an important role in immune health. Research has suggested that vitamin D deficiency may increase the risk of developing heart disease and certain cancers, especially colon cancer. Although many people with vitamin D deficiency have no symptoms, some may develop muscle aches, bone pain, chronic pain, fatigue syndromes, and even depression. How do you know if your vitamin D levels are healthy? Ask your doctor to order a blood test to check. A level between 20 and 30 nanograms-per-milliliter indicates a vitamin D "insufficiency," while less than 20 indicates a "deficiency." Need more vitamin D? Here is how you can get it: Vitamin D is found in certain foods, which will be discussed later, but that is not the only place you can find it. When our skin is exposed to the sun, our bodies produce it by using the suns rays. For this reason, vitamin D is often called the "sunshine vitamin". When sunlight hits our body, the UVB rays from the sun trigger a reaction in the skin that converts cholesterol into an inactive form of vitamin D. This form is transported to the liver and kidneys, where it is converted into an active vitamin D hormone. If all it takes is some time in the sun, why do most of us not have enough vitamin D?There are a lot reasons. Some people, such as those with darker skin tones, those who are overweight, and those who are older, cannot make enough Vitamin D from the sun.On top of that, we have been repeatedly urged to use sunscreen and cover up in the sun, which blocks harmful UV rays. Many of us do not go out in the sun at all. This is all good advice for preventing skin cancer and premature aging, but leaves us with less vitamin D. Sun dilemmas aside, there are only a couple of foods that naturally contain vitamin D. Fatty fish like salmon, trout, tuna and sardines are good natural choices. However, our biggest dietary sources include foods that are fortified with vitamin D, like milk and breakfast cereals. Now that we know where to find it, how much vitamin D should we be getting? Currently, the Institute of Medicine recommends that adults get from 200 to 600 I-U or international units of vitamin D a day. Yet, the latest research shows just how important vitamin D is, and that 200 to 600 units may not be enough. Many experts now agree that adults need at least 800 to 2,000 units a day. To put this in perspective, about 5 to 10 minutes in strong rays, with arms and legs exposed, makes about 3,000 units or more than enough units per day. Because sun exposure can be harmful, for many people, taking a supplement is the best way to get enough vitamin D. If your doctor or nutritionist determines you need a supplement, look for one that contains vitamin D3 instead of vitamin D2. D3 is three to four times as potent as D2. Yet beware, because you can take too much vitamin D and overdo a good thing. Talk to your doctor about how much you should take to get and keep your levels in the normal range. The bottom line: Be sure to get your daily dose of vitamin D—from the sun, from food or from a supplement. Vitamin D is absolutely essential to your health.

How Vitamins D & K Blast Belly Fat is an in-depth explanation of the many benefits of vitamins D and K and how they work together to battle belly fat. Find out what the best food sources for these and how they actually help to clot the blood and assist the body in absorbing calcium. Learn all about the supplements that are most important with my coaching Blogs and Videos at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com How Vitamin D3 Works 1. Vitamin D was discovered in 1920 where its importance in our bodies was realized in discovering a way to cure rickets, a painful bone disease in children (2) 2. Vitamin D fortified foods began within a decade, making rickets rare in the US (2) 3. Vitamins are defined as an essential nutrient that your body cannot produce on its own and must acquire from the diet - Vitamin D is not actually a vitamin, but a hormone, which is a chemical that regulates body physiology. (1) a. Your skin makes vitamin D when exposed to sunlights, so it does not need to acquire it from food if adequate sunlight is available (2) i. The only natural foods that contain vitamin D are fish and egg yolks (2) What Does Vitamin D Do? 1. We are discovering more and more ways that the body utilized vitamin D as time goes on a. Vitamin D receptors, proteins that bind to vitamin D, exists in many of the body’s tissues, including the heart, muscles, endocrine glands, prostate and many others. (2) 2. Bone health - vitamin D is essential for our bodies to be able to absorb calcium. Without enough vitamin D, the body absorbs only 10-15% of dietary calcium, versus 30-40% when our vitamin D levels are normal. How to Get Enough Vitamin D Now that we understand how important vitamin D is in our bodies, and how likely it is that we do not have enough, how do we get more? 1. Sunlight - It can be a good idea to first spend a bit of time in the sun before applying sunscreen a. spend 10-15 minutes three times per week without sunscreen on. This may be enough to prevent deficiencies (5) 2. Fatty fish, such as salmon, tuna and mackerel, and egg yolks (5) 3. Fortified foods: Many foods have been fortified with vitamin D, so look for this at your grocery store. Such foods include some milks, yogurts, orange juices and cereals (2) 4. Mushroom trick: mushrooms are a great source of natural vitamin D a. Exposing mushrooms to sunlight prior to eating them will ramp up their vitamin D levels! They carry the same skin-cancer risk as the sun or tanning beds, so be careful not to overdo it. These are a great option for those who live where there is little access to direct sunlight (8) 6. Supplementation: Last is supplementation. It is best to obtain some sunlight and concentrate on adding additional vitamin D in your diet. That being said, if you believe you are lacking vitamin D you can always buy supplements. What time of day do you get Vitamin D from the sun?

01:05
The optimal time to be in the sun for vitamin D production is as near to solar noon as possible. That would be between roughly 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. During this time you need the shortest exposure time to produce vitamin D because UVB rays are most intense at this time. Watch A Production House by Surya Bhagawan Creations. Sun & Vitamin D

03:13
The sun is very important. Vitamin D like Vitamin C or Vitamin A is very important. When we are deficient in the sun, when we become deficient in the exposure, we became deficient in Vitamin D. Vitamin D is created to interact with the skin and the sun. Today doctors, specific the dermatologists, have turned the sun for many people into the enemy, when it is one of our best friends. The use of sunscreen, there are people who will not walk out of the door and spend one minute in the sun without putting a sunscreen. Some people go to the point where they do not walk around their own house without putting a sunscreen on. What the field of dermatology has done is cut off people from their Vitamin D. And this is showing up in many diseases including cancer. My recommendation, and this is not easy because it depends on the weather, one’s latitude, but getting exposure whether be through direct sun light until one is a little bit pink, for cancer patients it is very important, it is much better to take nutrients from the sun than it is to take Vitamin D supplements, though if one is in a high latitude where the weather is very cold and one cannot get to the sun and one cannot afford sun lamps, or going to these centers where they have tanning beds. Radiation, natural radiation, of the invisible spectrum, and into the infra-red, are healthy, are necessary. So, don´t pay attention to dermatologists, avoid the sunscreens to the maximum possible. Of course if one goes out into the noon sun, into the sun is high over head, and needs to spend some time, sure, sunscreen can protect us from being burnt, but there is nothing healthy about them, and there´s nothing really protective . We need the sun, we need sun exposure. We need Vitamin D. So for patients who are diseases, either increase their sun exposure, daily exposure, to the point of getting a little bit pink is incredibly healthy. If you if you can’t do that then take a good Vitamin D3.

7 Signs of Low Vitamin D (How Many do You Know?)

07:46
So many people in the industrialized nations are deficient in Vitamin D, it is truly an epidemic. When you consider that it is not just a vitamin, but also a pro-hormone, you can begin to understand the importance of this deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to weakened bones, yes, but it can also lead to weakened immune systems as well. The risk of cancer, and many other illnesses, increases with a dropping vitamin D level. The best way to get Vitamin D is from the Sun and from your diet. If you live too far north for the Sun, and can't get enough in your diet, then you should supplement. Having a healthy Vitamin D level is very important to your good health and longevity. *Vitamin D & Weight Loss Video: https://youtu.be/M0GBrrt2YWI * ------- Join me and let's optimize your health! ------- A Good Vit D Supplement: https://amzn.to/2I1UFmz Vit D + Vit K2 Supplement: https://amzn.to/2rry7FC Get Dr Berry's Best-Selling Book: LIES MY DOCTOR TOLD ME 📕--▶ http://a.co/g53H5g7 FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/kendberry.md/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/kendberry.md/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/KenDBerryMD Thanks so much to Mary C., Lisa G., Paul R., Doyle R., Robyn D., Jeff P., Joe W., and John C. for being generous Patrons, and helping make this video possible… ▶You can help too, by becoming a Patron: https://goo.gl/kJJYws 🆕 Patron-Only FaceBook Page: https://goo.gl/XLVjmc (you may have to type a code to prove you're human) 📳Speak with Dr. Berry face-to-face about medical questions you might have using eVisit: https://goo.gl/7ibtW5 Ken D Berry, MD, FAAFP, is a Board Certified Family Physician and Fellow in The American Academy of Family Physicians. 10 Serious Lack Of Vitamin D Warning Signs

03:47
Muscle weakness is usually caused by a Vitamin D deficiency. Muscles have Vitamin D receptors. They must have a constant supply of Vitamin D to function. If your body has a deficiency of Vitamin D, your muscles will have trouble functioning. Bone Pain Shunning the sun and being lactose intolerant can leave you with a deficiency of Vitamin D. This can lead to bone pain, which can be difficult to distinguish from muscle or joint pain, but generally manifests as a deep, full pain that can't be isolated to an exact area. Constant Respiratory Problems Studies show that Vitamin D may help defend against respiratory illness. This is especially true in children. If your child has severe asthma, you may want to increase their Vitamin D intake. Sweaty Head Years ago, doctors used to ask new mothers if their newborns' heads were sweating more than normal. This is apparently a very early sign that a baby is Vitamin D deficient. If you're breastfeeding, you'll need to increase your sun exposure or consume more foods rich in Vitamin D. Depression According to the Vitamin D Council, this essential nutrient helps your brain's neurotransmitters produce the fluid serotonin. This produces our feelings of happiness. Studies have linked low levels of Vitamin D with episodes of depression. This happens especially during the winter months, because of the lack of sun during that time of year. Chronic Infections The Mayo Clinic has advised that Vitamin D is crucial to our body's health. It is a necessary vitamin in helping our body fight infections. If you notice you or your child is prone to getting infections, you might want to ask your doctor to give you a Vitamin D blood test. Cardiovascular Disease Articles published by the National Institutes of Health have shown that deficiencies in Vitamin D can lead to congestive heart failure. Make sure your body maintains the proper amounts to guard against the risk. Home tests are available to check if you have a lack of Vitamin D. Psoriasis Although psoriasis is not always caused by a lack of Vitamin D, it's used in treatment. The Mayo Clinic claims that if you have a lack of Vitamin D it will be harder for your body to defend itself against psoriasis. Chronic Pain Studies have shown that low Vitamin D levels impact a person's chances of having chronic pain. People with darker skin are more prone to these effects, because they need more sun exposure to actually absorb any Vitamin D. Tiredness Vitamin D is one of the necessary vitamins for your body to create energy. Without it you can end up feeling tired most of the day. This will make it hard for you to get around or even get to work. You should consult your doctor if you have constant feelings of tiredness. Hypertension Harvard University conducted a study on women. The study showed that women with low levels of Vitamin D have a 67 percent increased risk of hypertension. If you suffer from anxiety, you may want to consider purchasing Vitamin D supplements and adding them to your daily routine. Crankiness Vitamin D also affects the levels of serotonin in your brain, which is what impacts your mood. If you're feeling cranky, it might be because you're not producing enough serotonin!

14 Days To A Better Vegan Vitamin D

10:10
One of the greatest health discoveries over the last 100 years has been the discovery of vitamin d. In terms of d vitamins there are 5 in its group. D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5. And of these 5 2 are pivotal and important for human health and metabolism. D2 and D3. Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/goji_man/?hl=en If you stand out in the sun with lots of skin exposed for 20-30 minutes in midday sun, you will form anywhere from 10,000-20,000 international units of vitamin D. And the great thing about this is that when you do this well over 3,000 healing genes are activated in the body, that’s how important vitamin D is. And to give you an idea how much 10,0000 international units is, the RDA for adult men and women is only about 600-800 international units per day. So if you get lots of sunshine during the summer months then your body will have all the vitamin D it needs during the winter months as it is stored in the body. So as per the video title, 14 days to a better vegan vitamin D, if you exposed your body to 20-30 minutes of mid day sun every day across the 2 weeks you could potentially get up to 280,000 international units. Which is a lot of vitamin d. And of course if you do this from the April through to mid September then you will give your body all it needs for that year. And by just getting 20-30 mins a day you will avoid burning the skin and running into skin cancer risks. Now vitamin D is therefore something that we call an epigenetic modulator i.e. we know that the genetics we are born with don’t control our health outcomes. As they say genetics loads the gun, lifestyle pulls the trigger. (WHITEBOARD) So these 3,000 healing genes that are switched on from our exposure to the sun, are helping stack the odds in our favour as they help with repairing our DNA. So quite simply, vitamin D is probably one of the most potent epigenetic substances on the planet. Now a common question I get a lot is well my job keeps me in doors a lot and I don’t get adequate sun exposure, should I take a supplement and if so which one should I take? Now for me this is a double edged sword. I will always advocate sun exposure over supplements (VIDEO) Vitamin D effectively acts as a hormone in the body and very little research exists over the long term which analyses supplement use in the body. There are also large studies, such as this one in 2014, that looked at over a quarter of a million people, and showed that vitamin D supplements did little to prevent cancer, bone issues r heart disease. (Talk Over) With that being said, if you are going to supplement then here is some general advice for you to think about. Now in the health and nutrition world there has been a lot of debate and controversy about which form of vitamin d you should take. There is growing evidence that vitamin D3 is actually more effective in the body at increasing your vitamin d levels. Because of this over the last 10-20 years there has been a ferocious appetite in the vegan community for a plant based vegan source of vegan d3. The vast majority of d3 you find out there is actually made of sheep lanolin. So they get the sheeps wool and manufacture it from that. So for vegans this is obviously a no-no because its from animal origin. This demand inevitably lead scientists and researchers into forests and grasslands to find a suitable source for vegans. And they obviously discovered that there were certain types of lichens that produce bio-identical forms of d3. (Talk Over) So as I said previously, vitamin d3 is actually a hormone, in fact it’s a steroid based hormone. And that is why I has you have to be slightly cautious when taking it at higher doses and over the long term. This is because it sits in this balance between cortisol and oestrogen. And the anabolic hormones such as progesterone and testosterone and also the thyroid hormones and DHEA. Now d3 fits in this equation as it helps with progesterone and testosterone metabolism and one of the most powerful aspects of vitamin d3 is that it opposes oestrogens and toxic oestrogens in the body such as xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens. And it also opposes cortisol, your stress hormone. So if you are dealing with any type of these hormone problems or adrenal problems then vitamin d is going to be of paramount importance to you in resolving the issues. So if we can get enough sun exposure or supplement a leichin derived d3, then we can potentially help stave off many of the leading diseases that we are currently facing. This is obviously in conjunction with good nutrition. Now I don’t obviously take a d3 supplement so for those of you who do let me know in the comments below which one you take. This will help others who watch this video to decide on a brand that might be suitable for them. Always do your research though and always choose a quality product, don’t just settle for a cheap second best.

Does ours? 22:05 Why Did It Take 2 Years to Become B Deficient? 23:44 Each B vitamin has an intestinal bacterial source and a food source. 26:02 Wanted: Gut Bugs 31:39 You can fix your own bacteria with vitamin D levels above 40 and take B100 or B50 for 3 months. 32:58 The sodium linked multivitamin transport system pumps 3 vitamins, pantothenic acid, alpha lipoic acid and biotin, into our digestive system and our brain. 36:24 Dr. Gominak sees a correlation between autism and vitamin D deficiency. 38:27 The development of sexual dysmorphism and sleep. 42:34 When a child cannot get out of bed in the morning, this is may be the brain demanding that they go back to sleep to get REM. 44:03 A lack of REM sleep cheats a child of their normal development. 47:15 Children and adults normally make small subtle movements and tiny vocalizations, not talking, walking or falling out of bed. 48:27 Taking the Weston A. Price westernization theory to another level. 56:02 Breastfeeding enlarges nasal passages. 57:28 Dr. Gominak believes that vitamin D is trophic to the bacteria that we are supposed to have in our gut. 59:24 Pantothenic acid not only makes acetylcholine, it makes cortisol. 60:11 Acetylcholine is a chemical used by the vagus nerve. 01:07:46 A test result of pantothenic acid levels will parallel magnesium levels. It tells you what is in the blood, but not what is in the stores. 01:09:10 Perhaps we are completely self-healing with REM sleep. 01:12:26 Dr. Gominak’s Morning Routine 01:13:31 The ketogenic diet helps people to live longer. Being ketogenic during REM sleep helps us repair. We were probably designed to go into ketosis for at least 12 hours every night. 01:15:08 A new theory is that the tricarboxylic acid/CREB cycle, which is used when you are using fats as your energy supply, may have a different purpose. It may not be about making ATP. 0101:19:33 Dr. Gominak’s desert island herb, nutrient or supplement: Her choice is vitamin D, even on a desert island. 01:30:35 Dr. Gominak’s Elevator Pitch: We can impact our children, especially children of color. It they don’t go outside, they don’t make enough vitamin D.
