7 All-Natural Solutions for High Blood Pressure

16:58
I love talking anything heart-related, it’s relevant and people need to hear it. Why? Currently, in America, there are 103 million people dealing with high blood pressure. This number represents nearly half of the adults in the U.S. Sadly, it's spilling over to our children as well, the CDC reported that 1 in 29 children have high blood pressure or hypertension. Hypertension-related deaths have increased 38% over the last decade.1 This topic matters. How you approach it matters. There’s a reason that your blood pressure is driven up. Your body needs higher blood pressure. It needs more blood flow to certain areas of your body. There are many factors and reasons why it goes up. If you can get to the cause, you can identify and overcome the issue of hypertension and the damage it may cause long-term. https://www.drlivingood.com/blog?tag=high+blood+pressure

And perhaps this week's most exciting news - the British Medical Journal has set up a website to make public Roche Lab's misbehavior concerning clinical trials for Tamiflu. Nothing like a good medical scandal to keep ourselves motivated to educate the public.

Dr. Pam Popper: Treating Hypertension; Mammography

According to an academic, older people with hypertension are routinely over-medicated, and many of them are harmed as a result. In a stunning admission, the committee acknowledged that lowering blood pressure with diet and lifestyle is better than taking meds. And Dr. Gilbert Welch's editorial on mammography and its risks for women was recently featured in The New York Times. I'll share excerpts, and I'm glad to see that this issue is getting attention from mainstream media.

Dr Peter Gøtzsche talks about his views on prescreening for breast and prostate cancer

07:53
For more informative videos and free information visit http:drmcdougall.com Peter C. Gøtzsche, MD is a Danish medical researcher, and leader of the Nordic Cochrane Center at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark. He has written numerous reviews within the Cochrane collaboration. Dr.Gøtzsche has been critical of screening for breast cancer using mammography, arguing that it cannot be justified; His critique stems from a meta-analysis he did on mammography screening studies and published as Is screening for breast cancer with mammography justifiable? in The Lancet in 2000. In it he discarded 6 out of 8 studies arguing their randomization was inadequate. In 2006 a paper by Gøtzsche on mammography screening was electronically published in the European Journal of Cancer ahead of print. The journal later removed the paper completely from the journal website without any formal retraction. The paper was later published in Danish Medical Bulletin with a short note from the editor, and Gøtzsche and his coauthors commented on the unilateral retraction that the authors were not involved in. In 2012 his book Mammography Screening: Truth, Lies and Controversy was published. In 2013 his book Deadly Medicines and Organized Crime: How Big Pharma has Corrupted Healthcare was published. http://www.cochrane.org/

Influenza Outbreak

01:44
[Anchor Lead] The spread of the influenza virus this season is unprecedented, creating serious concerns throughout the country. Let's find out more about the nationwide outbreak of the flu. [Pkg] In this middle school in Gangwon-do Province, 20 students were infected with influenza and ordered not to attend class over the past two weeks. The spread of influenza has prompted an early start to the winter vacation break, which was initially scheduled to begin on Friday. [Soundbite] Middle School Student(Voice modified) : "Five of my classmates have come down with the flu. This is why the school has moved up the winter vacation for other students." With the unusual flu pandemic before the winter break, the number of suspected cases of the flu among elementary, middle and high school students has jumped nearly four-fold in a week to 152 for every 1,000 outpatients. This is a record high since an influenza monitoring system was introduced in 1997. [Soundbite] Jung Ki-suck(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) : "Flu alerts were issued during winter vacation in the last six years. But for the first time in six years, a flu outbreak has begun during the school term." The Education Ministry will allow school principals to decide on whether to start winter vacations early. Health authorities have also decided to expand health insurance coverage of flu medicines, which is given to high-risk groups like children and the elderly, to include adolescents aged 18 or younger. The expansion will allow young people to pay only 30 percent of the prices for three anti-viral medicines including Tamiflu, until the flu outbreak is declared to be over.

Why Do Generic Drugs Cost So Much?

06:22
Generic Medications Cost too much money! There's a wide variability in the cost of generic medications from pharmacy to pharmacy. Researchers at Saint Louis University surveyed 175 pharmacies and asked for their prices for the meds Lisinopril, Carvedilol, and Digoxin. These are common heart failure medications. The researchers found that the prices for three generic medications ranged from less than $20 to more than $150, with the highest price for all three medications being $397 for a 1 month supply! This is way too much money! If you spent $150/month on medications alone, it would cost $1800 for the year. In contrast, if you spent less than $20/month on these same medications, it would cost less than $240 for the year. This is a difference of $1,560. Unfortunately, these costs have the greatest adverse effect on low income communities because they may not have the transportation resources to drive to these less expensive pharmacies. A possible solution is Direct Primary Care. DPC doctors like myself buy medications at wholesale prices and give them to our patients at cost, or with a 10% mark up to cover the cost of shipping and handling. For example, at our clinic Plum Health DPC, we can wholesale these same three medications for about $18/month. Dr Mercola Important Information about Vitamin D If You've Got The Flu!

07:41
http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/newsle... http://naturalhealthcenter.mercola.co... Dr. Cannell: Why does the CDC and WHO ignore all the work on Vitamin D and flu? A randomized placebo controlled trial showed vitamin D prevents colds and flu. However, when these same authors attempted to reproduce their findings by giving 2,000 IU/day for four months, they found no protective effect of Vitamin D. However, these same authors have since concluded that 2,000 IU/day for four months is an inadequate dose and 5,000 IU per day is generally required to assure 95% of the population has adequate levels. At least 5 studies show an inverse association between lower respiratory tract infections and 25(OH)D levels or sunshine. That is, the higher your 25(OH)D level, the fewer colds and flu. Despite these studies, the scientists at CDC and WHO are thinking only in terms of a vaccine or TamiFlu. The idea of strengthening the innate immune system with Vitamin D is simply not on their radar. Many of these scientists have financial connections to the influenza industry. However, It is not a conspiracy. When I was young, I thought most things were conspiracies. Now that I am older, I know it is not a conspiracy, only incompetence. If this virus mutates this summer and acquires more lethality and maintains its transmissibility, we may experience another 1918 pandemic. If so, I plan to be fully armed, with both Vitamin D and the best modern conventional medicine has to offer. John Jacob Cannell MD Executive Director

Dr. Saputo on Bill Gates and Vaccines

10:33
Bill Gates is donating million of dollars for immunization program development through the World Health Organization to prevent polio, AID's, maleria, and other diseases. While this s part of a good program to prevent infections, it is still important to treat the underlying reasons for suppressed immunity such as sanitation, clean water, and nutritious food. Just because immunizations could be very helpful for third world countries, doesn't mean that our kids need in the range of 70 immunizations by the time they are 18 years old. It also does not justify the use of themerosol in vaccines. For more information please visit www.doctorsaputo.com
