Learn to Measure Blood Pressure and Pulse

07:50
Learn to Measure Blood Pressure and Pulse - Medical Videos Step-by-Step Blood Pressure Check If you purchase a manual or digital blood pressure monitor (sphygmomanometer), follow the instruction booklet carefully. The following steps provide an overview of how to take your left arm blood pressure on either a manual or digital blood pressure monitor. Simply reverse the sides to take a blood pressure in your right arm. 1. Locate your pulse Locate your pulse by lightly pressing your index and middle fingers slightly to the inside center of the bend of your elbow (where the brachial artery is). If you cannot locate your pulse, place the head of the stethoscope (on a manual monitor) or the arm cuff (on a digital monitor) in the same general area.2. Secure the cuff Thread the cuff end through the metal loop and slide the cuff onto your arm, making sure that the stethoscope head is over the artery (when using a manual monitor.) The cuff may be marked with an arrow to show the location of the stethoscope head. The lower edge of the cuff should be about 1 inch above the bend of your elbow. Use the fabric fastener to make the cuff snug, but not too tight. Place the stethoscope in your ears. Tilt the ear pieces slightly forward to get the best sound. 3. Inflate and deflate the cuff If you are using a manual monitor: Hold the pressure gauge in your left hand and the bulb in your right. Close the airflow valve on the bulb by turning the screw clockwise. Inflate the cuff by squeezing the bulb with your right hand. You may hear your pulse in the stethoscope. Watch the gauge. Keep inflating the cuff until the gauge reads about 30 points (mm Hg) above your expected systolic pressure. At this point, you should not hear your pulse in the stethoscope. Keeping your eyes on the gauge, slowly release the pressure in the cuff by opening the airflow valve counterclockwise. The gauge should fall only 2 to 3 points with each heartbeat. (You may need to practice turning the valve slowly.) Listen carefully for the first pulse beat. As soon as you hear it, note the reading on the gauge. This reading is your systolic pressure (the force of the blood against the artery walls as your heart beats). Continue to slowly deflate the cuff. Listen carefully until the sound disappears. As soon as you can no longer hear your pulse, note the reading on the gauge. This reading is your diastolic pressure (the blood pressure between heartbeats). Allow the cuff to completely deflate.

☝️ 3 Pressure Points That’ll Instantly Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally

05:23
How I Lowered My Dad’s Blood Pressure by 23% In Just A Few days - NO Drugs or Diets: 👉http://drsam.co/yt/LongTermLowBP Or you can watch this video: http://drsam.co/yt/WorstFoodForBP ======================================= ☝️ 3 Pressure Points That’ll Instantly Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally ======================================= Lowering high blood pressure is a very important topic not only for avoiding a heart attack or stroke, but simply for a longer life. And personally speaking, this is very important for me because I have a family history of high blood pressure, which has typically lead to strokes on my dad’s side of the family and heart attacks on my mom’s. The good news is that there are lots of simple ways to lower high blood pressure, naturally. And today I’m going reveal 3 simple pressure points on your body, that will instantly lower your blood pressure. Something important that I want to bring to your attention about today’s topic is that these solutions are for instant results, NOT long-term solutions … which I’ll get to at the end of today’s video. So if you’re feeling stressed or your blood pressure is rising, you can almost instantly and quickly use today’s 3 pressure points to lower your blood pressure and help avoid anything bad from happening. If nothing else, you’ll get instant relief and relaxation. Acupressure Point LI4 LI 4, which stands for “Large Intestine 4”, is an extremely useful acupressure point that is extensively used to treat chronic pain, acute stress and various types of diseases along with treatment for high blood pressure. This point is situated in the webbing between the forefinger and the thumb… right in the middle as you see here. It calms and balances blood flow throughout the body and clears stagnation. As an added benefit, it also boosts your immunity. The most effective way to apply pressure to LI 4 is to slide your thumb along the webbing until you reach the junction of the thumb and index finger bones. How to apply acupressure? Begin by moving your thumb in a small circular rubbing motion over LI 4 for a few seconds. Then you can apply gentle to moderate thumb pressure depending on how sensitive the area feels. If there is any pain, it should be a “good hurt,” not severe or uncomfortable. You can hold the point as long as you are comfortable, up to several minutes. I typically suggest about 20-30 seconds, then take a few second break and then repeat as often as you’d like. PC 6 PC 6 or Pericardium 6 is yet another important acupressure point for treating high blood pressure. It soothes and helps the heart and circulatory system in their proper functioning. This point is also known as the Inner Gate, and it is located on the inner forearm, approximately three finger-widths away from the wrist crease as you see here. This point can be stimulated by applying firm pressure to the point using your index finger or thumb. Again, apply pressure for about 20-30 seconds, then take a break and repeat as needed. G20 The G20 is below the base of your skull, in the hollows on both sides of the neck, between the two vertical neck muscles. Putting pressure here lowers your blood pressure, reduces headaches and stress by relaxing your nervous system. Use your thumbs, fingers, or knuckles to gradually apply pressure into the hollows of your skull. Close your eyes as you tilt your head back slowly. Take long, slow deep breaths as you hold for two to three minutes. Direct the pressure slowly and firmly into the center of your head. Other Acupressure Points Now, there are lots of other acupressure points -- on your feet, arms, legs, and so forth. I picked these 3 areas for lowering your blood pressure because you can do them any where, any place -- they’re easy to access. It’s just your hand, forearm/wrist and the back of your head. Easy access, you can do it yourself and you’ll get fast relief. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. Homedics BP monitor

02:49
Review of Homedics wrist blood pressure monitor Available from: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013V3041M With 2 family members who need to keep an eye on their blood pressure, and a third who probably should do, this BP monitor is the quick and easy way to encourage potential users to actually use it. Fitting on the wrist, it is ideal for taking quick and easy readings with no need to remove any clothing or even roll up a sleeve - so no excuses about 'not having time'.... Simply, wrap it over the wrist, press the START button and the cuff inflates automatically. After taking a reading it then quickly deflates and displays the systolic and diastolic readings on the clear LCD screen. Via a colour-coded chart to the side, readings can be interpreted as 'Optimum' (green), 'Normal' (green), 'Grade 1 Hypertension' (orange) or 'Grade 2' or 'Grade 3 Hypertension' (both red). A user manual accompanies the monitor and includes a 'Classification of blood pressure for adults' chart - however, the print is so tiny as magnifying glass my be needed to read it! The memory function stores 60 previous readings which helps with monitoring trends and, as each are stamped with the time and date, any anomalies such as higher readings in mornings (undesirable...) can be identified and investigated by a GP if required. Taking your own BP readings in a relaxed environment at home can produce more accurate results than taking it in a surgery, particularly for those who find medical settings stressful or suffer with 'white coat hypertension. I am one of the latter and my BP soars to an easy 200/125 on entering a GP surgery and particularly when the BP cuff is fastened around my arm so it is never possible to obtain an accurate BP reading in a surgery setting. At home it is closer to 115/65 and had this not been observed by taking my own readings, then I would have been erroneously treated for hypertension. Now I have to phone-in readings at specified intervals. Being able to take your own readings at home is not only more convenient but it is also more likely to produce representative readings. Because I've been doing this for so many years, I have several BP monitors and on comparing this HoMedics model with the rest, mostly Omron upper-arm models matching those used in the GP surgery, can confirm that the readings from this monitor tally and hence confirm it is accurate and the readings can be trusted. Definitely recommended for its combination of ease of use, speed when using, convenience and accuracy.

Does It Matter If You Use The Blood Pressure Cuff Over Your Shirt Sleeve? There is one organ which causes high blood pressure (and it's not what you think!) and there are specific exercises you can use to target and fix your blood pressure easily. No diet, lifestyle changes or medication required: http://hibloodpressure.stream/ Answers from: Ann Thomas I was taught that the proper way to listen to a blood pressure is with the stethoscope on bare skin and the rolled up sleeve is not too tight. In addition, the patient shouldbe resting quietly with both feet flat on the floor for five minutes. I have seen too many BPs falsely elvated because the patient had just rushed in or was sitting on the exam table with their feet dangling. Also do not forget to ask when they last smoked a cigarette in your smokers. Remember I am an old fashioned Family Practice doctor who also went to nursing school first. Simbr Blood Pressure Monitor

10:31
Simbr Blood Pressure Monitor The Simbr Blood Pressure Monitor comes nicely packaged in a box that has multiple graphics on it. They show the features of the unit and its range of measurements. It also indicates the sizes of arms that the included cuff can fit. Unpacking the box is pretty straight forward. The cuff with attached air host is just in the box, not in any plastic bag or other inner packaging. The control unit is in a taped bubble bag, which helps prevent it from being damaged or scratched in transit. My unit arrived in perfect condition. The cuff is like any other blood pressure cuff. It has an attached air hose and uses hook and loop to fasten it around your arm. The end of the air hose has a fitting that fits into the air port on the controller. It is just a friction fit, so care should be used when inserting and removing it to prevent damage to the fitting. The controller is likewise pretty simple. It has three buttons along the bottom front of the unit. The first button is MEM, and that is for recalling previous test results. On the first press, it will show an average of the last three tests. Subsequent presses will cycle though the history of tests, starting with the most recent and going backwards to the oldest. The second button is the power button. It can be used to turn the unit off to save battery if it is on. It also initiates a blood pressure reading. After affixing the cuff to your arm and plugging in the air hose, pressing the power button will turn the unit on and start the test. At any time during the test, pushing it again will immediately stop the test and cause the cuff to deflate. The last button is the SET button. It is used for setting the date and time on the controller as well as selecting between person 1 and person 2 for record keeping. The controller can keep up to 90 readings per person for up to two people. The actual test is automatic and pretty quick as seen in the video. The hardest part, if doing this by yourself, is getting the cuff in place and secured on your arm. You'll have more accurate readings if you correctly position the cuff on your arm and follow the guidance in the manual. Such things like no eating, drinking, smoking or bathing within 10 minutes of taking a test. Also, you shouldn't move much before or during the test. How you position and support your arm during the test is important too, so follow the guidance provided in the manual. I found little difference in tests performed on my bare skin and when wearing a light weight long sleeve shirt. Probably wouldn't work if you are wearing a sweatshirt, so common sense should be used when using it over top clothing. I know I tend to get a bit nervous or anxious when I go to the doctor's office, which tends to drive up my blood pressure a bit. This is mentioned in the manual and can lead to a reading that is 10 points higher than what you'd get at home. Based on a few tests I've taken, I've found each of them to be around 8 to 10 points lower than the readings my doctor gets, so it looks to be pretty accurate when the directions are followed. This unit does everything the listing says it would do, and it provided me with accurate results. These earn it a 5 star rating. I will continue using this device to help keep any eye on my overall heart health and to monitor my blood pressure in between visits to the doctor. I received this item at a discount. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAIZJFK
What is Normal Blood Pressure

03:38
http://bit.ly/bloodPressureNow What is Normal Blood Pressure Blood pressure is a measurement of the pressure created as the heart pumps blood through the veins and arteries of the body, and normal blood pressure is the reading which most healthy adults have when their blood pressure is tested. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, can be very dangerous, as can hypotension, low blood pressure. The normal value for healthy young adults is around 120/80, while children tend to have slightly lower blood pressure, and older people have blood pressure which may be slightly higher. If your blood pressure exceeds 140/90, you will probably be asked to consider treating it, first with dietary changes and possibly with medication as well. The goal for healthy people is to achieve and maintain normal blood pressure. The two values in a blood pressure measurement are the systolic and diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the high point, the moment when the heart contracts to push blood throughout the body. Diastolic pressure is the lowest point, when the heart relaxes and fills with blood before it pumps again. To measure blood pressure, a medical professional uses a sphygmomanometer, a device which can measure arterial blood pressure. Arterial blood pressure is measured because blood pressure values slowly decline as blood travels through the body, making arterial blood pressure a more accurate measure of health. A deviation from normal blood pressure suggests a medical problem. When a patient's blood pressure is taken, a cuff or pressure sleeve is placed on the arm above the elbow. Blood pressure is taken at rest, with the legs and arms relaxed and the back supported. The cuff is inflated to apply pressure, causing the pulse in the radial artery to momentarily disappear. Next, the cuff is slowly deflated, to measure how much pressure the heart uses to open the artery which was temporarily blocked by the cuff. In the case of a patient with normal blood pressure, the value is recorded and the patient is often congratulated on his or her normal blood pressure value. At routine medical examinations, blood pressure is always taken because it can indicate underlying health problems, while normal blood pressure can suggest that the patient is in good health. Some patients with abnormal blood pressure exhibit no symptoms, and may be unaware of the problem until it is brought to their attention in a medical office. Many factors can influence blood pressure levels including diet, exercise, physical conditions, stress, and tension. These are taken into account when looking at a blood pressure values, and if the patient is under extreme stress, he or she may be asked to relax so that a normal blood pressure reading can be taken. In an abnormal blood pressure reading is obtained, usually it will be checked again to ensure that it is correct. If the reading is accurate, the doctor will talk to the patient about his or her lifestyle and habits, to see if a cause for the abnormal reading can be figured out. Doctor and patient will also discuss lifestyle changes which could be made to fix the problem, and the doctor may schedule follow-up appointments to rule out other medical problems through routine testing. During these follow-up appointments, the patient will be routinely tested until he or she has reached a level of normal blood pressure, at which point a maintenance regimen will be established. http://bit.ly/bloodPressureNow What is Normal Blood Pressure https://youtu.be/49XFzN9rKRA

How to Test Blood Pressure With Fingers | How to Check Pulse😍😍

01:33
Title : : How to Test Blood Pressure With Fingers | How to Check Pulse Channel Subscribe : : https://goo.gl/U9eyuN Google+ : : https://goo.gl/4YYAOn Checking your pulse allows you to determine your heart rate without any special equipment. This can be useful if you're trying to lose weight or you have a brain condition. Read on to find out how easy and painless it is to check your pulse. Try using your fingertips instead of laying your fingers across your wrist. Place the tips in different places and stop at each location for five seconds. Try varying the pressure of your fingertips on your wrist. Sometimes either lightening your touch or pressing harder will help you find a pulse. Try checking for a pulse while dropping your hand toward the floor. Holding your hand up near your head can make your pulse less distinct. Dropping your hand will slightly alter your blood flow through that wrist and make it easier to detect a pulse. Use a stethoscope. If you have such an instrument, use it here. Lift up or remove your shirt, hold the stethoscope against your bare chest, and listen. Count each beat as you hear it, and listen for any skipped beats. Find your potential maximum heart rate. This is the highest your pulse rate can get. You will use your potential maximum heart rate to determine your target heart rate. To find yours, follow this formula: 220 - your age = predicted maximum heart rate. Try exercising intensely for 30 minutes. Check your heart rate immediately after (or even during) your exercise. Compare your actual exercising heart rate to your potential maximum rate. The numbers should be fairly close. If you're taking your pulse during exercise, keep your feet moving as you do so or blood might accumulate in your extremities.

Can I Get My Blood Pressure Checked At Home?

02:06
Dr Vaishak Vidyadhar, Physician, The Bangalore Hospital, Bangalore, India speaks about the convenience of monitoring blood pressure at home and some of the do’s and don’ts for a successful home measurement of blood pressure. Blood pressure measurement has become quite easy and convenient due to the availability of user-friendly blood pressure measuring machines. Most of these machines provide valuable readings for patients newly diagnosed with hypertension, someone whose hypertension medications are changed, individuals adopting healthy lifestyle or someone who suffers from “white coat effects”. “White coat effects” is a condition wherein a patient becomes anxious when being with a doctor, thus recording falsely elevated blood pressure readings. It is recommended to cross check these readings with a mercury sphygmomanometer Whenever possible, so as to gauge the accuracy of the blood pressure monitor. “It is important to follow certain guidelines while taking the measurements at home. It is very likely that the readings might get affected if care is not taken. Note down all the readings with date and timings of recording, in a proper chart. Share the same with your doctor to get an idea of the blood pressure control (pressure pattern). Your doctor will be able to prescribe or modify the medicines accordingly,” says Dr Vaishak Vidyadhar. Some of the points that should be considered while taking blood pressure measurements include: Always measure in the same arm. Different arms may give variations in the readings. Sit comfortably with legs apart, feet flat on the floor. Relax your arm. Your arm should be at the same level as your heart. Wear loose and comfortable clothes. Do not take in a heavy meal, caffeinated drinks, alcohol and medications or do smoking before taking the readings. Measurements should be ideally taken twice a day, once in the morning and in the evening, preferably at the same time. Empty your bladder before taking the measurements. Take rest for 15 minutes before checking your readings. Modasta provides you authenticated health care articles, information and doctor videos. Get the accurate healthcare information. YOU THINK THAT 120/80 IS A NORMAL BLOOD PRESSURE: YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG!

02:14
YOU THINK THAT 120/80 IS A NORMAL BLOOD PRESSURE: YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG! Many people all around the world think that 120 over 80 is a normal blood pressure, but ESC Association issued new guidelines, according to which the normal pressure to 140 systolic (the top number in a blood pressure measurement) and 90 diastolic (bottom number). This, does not apply for people with diabetes, in which the limit is 130 over 80, as in the older population. Previously was thought that if someone’s blood pressure is 139 over 89 that that person is already in hypertensive condition and that this person needs to take meds immediately in order to avoid increased risk of heart attack or stroke. Blood pressure generally considered to be low when either systolic blood pressure is less than 90 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure is less than 60 mmHg, but if your blood pressure is severely low — less than 80/50 mmHg — or you experience a sudden drop in blood pressure, consult your health care provider. If you have low blood pressure and do not have any worrisome symptoms, such as dizziness, headaches, or an abnormal heart rate, it is probably not a concern. Knowing your blood pressure is important part of health management, since undiagnosed hypertension puts you at risk for a variety of other conditions. We really hope you find this article helpful and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family. Thank You. Randy had High Blood Pressure Joined Dramatic Weight Loss -He lost 65 lbs no Blood Pressure Problems

01:17
Blood Pressure Defined Blood pressure (BP) is the pressure exerted by circulating blood upon the walls of blood vessels, and is one of the principal vital sign. Visit http://www.dramaticweightloss.com DWL The Difference is Dramatic I'm Randy and I lost 65 pounds and its taken me about a little over four months. It was a bit easier than I thought it would be. I came into thinking well will it work or will it not and it actually did.Body fat went from 38 down to 18. My main goal was to get off Blood pressure medicine. That was my reason for doing this. That happened 3 months into the program. Completely off of it and still same around 107 over 78. Cholesterol all has dropped in the last year, especially do to this, from 265 down to 187. Went yesterday to the store to by clothes because nothing fits. It went from 2XL to a Medium. And almost 40 pants down to 34's. So I'm very happy When used without further specification, "blood pressure" usually refers to the arterial pressure of the systemic circulation. During each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between a maximum (systolic) and a minimum (diastolic) pressure. The blood pressure in the circulation is principally due to the pumping action of the heart. The measurement of blood pressure usually refers to the systemic arterial pressure measured at a person's upper arm and is a measure of the pressure in the brachial artery, major artery in the upper arm. A person's blood pressure is usually expressed in terms of the systolic pressure over diastolic pressure and is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg), for example 140/90. For each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between systolic and diastolic pressures. Systolic pressure is peak pressure in the arteries, which occurs near the end of the cardiac cycle when the ventricles are contracting. Diastolic pressure is minimum pressure in the arteries, which occurs near the beginning of the cardiac cycle when the ventricles are filled with blood. The medical term for high blood pressure is hypertension. High blood pressure is dangerous because it makes the heart work too hard and contributes to atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Classification of blood pressure for adults according to the American Heart Association Causes of High Blood Pressure Several factors and conditions may play a role in developing high blood pressure (hypertension), including: Smoking Being overweight or obese Lack of physical activity Too much salt in the diet Too much alcohol consumption (more than 1 to 2 drinks per day) Stress Older age Genetics Family history of high blood pressure Chronic kidney disease Adrenal and thyroid disorders Who Is More Likely to Develop High Blood Pressure? People with family members who have high blood pressure. People who smoke. African-Americans. Women who are pregnant. Women who take birth control pills. People over the age of 35. People who are overweight or obese. People who are not active. People who drink alcohol excessively. People who eat too many fatty foods or foods with too much salt. Side Effects of High Blood Pressure Signs and Symptoms: Ð Hypertension is rarely accompanied by any symptoms, and its identification is usually through screening. Ð Some people with high blood pressure report headaches (particularly at the back of the head and in the morning), as well as lightheadedness, vertigo, tinnitus (buzzing or hissing in the ears), altered vision or fainting episodes. Complications: Ð Stroke Ð Myocardial Infarction (heart attacks) Ð Heart failure Ð Aneurysms of the arteries (aortic aneurysm) Ð Peripheral arterial disease Ð Chronic kidney disease Blood Pressure and Weight Loss As people gain weight, their blood pressure tends to go up. Fortunately, as they lose weight, their blood pressure tends to go down. Even modest weight loss (say, 5% to 10% of your current heft) is effective at lowering blood pressure for those who have high blood pressure or prehypertension. Hypertension can almost always be prevented, so these steps are very important even if you do not have high blood pressure. Maintain a healthy weight. Be physically active. Follow a healthy eating plan. Eat foods with less sodium (salt). Drink alcohol only in moderation. Take prescribed drugs as directed. Dramatic Weight Loss understands the frustrations of being overweight. Most patients quit weight loss programs because they are always fighting hunger and cravings. In 1996, Dramatic Weight Loss created a program that promotes healthy weight loss, stops hunger and cravings in addition to meeting the following requirements: Dr. Mansfield's patients lose up to 15 pounds in 15 days safely and effectively. blood pressure monitor explained

https://youtu.be/2zHnWN7zNAw Omron Blood Pressure Monitor Review! Like Share And Subscribe ====================== https://youtu.be/V1JA93ZcqY0 Best Way to Monitor Blood Pressure at Home If you often experience high blood pressure, hypertension or even stroke. It is advisable that you regularly check your blood pressure regularly. Below are some tips to keep in mind before you start to take readings with your blood pressure. ⦁ Go to a quiet place to relax to enable you listen to your own heath beat. ⦁ Make sure that you’ve emptied your bladder. Since full bladder can alter your blood pressure reading making your results inaccurate. ⦁ Roll up your long sleeve or remove it completely. ⦁ Don't smoke, drink caffeinated beverages or exercise within 30 minutes before measuring your blood pressure. ⦁ Good Posture- Sit with your back straight and supported (on a dining chair, rather than a sofa). Your feet should be flat on the floor and your legs should not be crossed. Your arm should be supported on a flat surface (such as a table) with the upper arm at heart level. Make sure the middle of the cuff is placed directly above the eye of the elbow. ⦁ Don't panic if a reading is high. Relax for a few minutes and try again. ⦁ Keep a record of your blood pressure readings and the time of day they are made.                                                                   STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL ⦁ Locate your ⦁ pulse-Locate your pulse by lightly pressing your index and middle fingers slightly to the inside centre of the bend of your elbow (where the brachial ⦁ artery is). If you cannot locate your pulse, place the head of the stethoscope (on a manual monitor) or the arm cuff (on a digital monitor) in the same general area. ⦁ Secure the cuff-Slide the cuff onto your arm, making sure that the stethoscope head is over the artery (when using a manual monitor.) The cuff may be marked with an arrow to show the location of the stethoscope head. The lower edge of the cuff should be about 1 inch above the bend of your elbow. Use the fabric fastener to make the cuff snug, but not too tight. Place the stethoscope in your ears. Tilt the ear pieces slightly forward to get the best sound. ⦁ Hold the bulb in your right hand. ⦁ 1Press the power button. All display symbols should appear briefly, followed by a zero. This indicates that the monitor is ready. ⦁ Inflate the cuff by squeezing the bulb with your right hand. If you have a monitor with automatic cuff inflation, press the start button. ⦁ Watch the gauge. Keep inflating the cuff until the gauge reads about 30 points (mm Hg) above your expected systolic pressure. ⦁ Sit quietly and watch the monitor. Pressure readings will be displayed on the screen. For some devices, values may appear on the left, then on the right. ⦁ Wait for a long beep. This means that the measurement is complete. Note the pressures on the display screen. Systolic pressure (the force of the blood against the artery walls as your heart beats) appears on the left and diastolic pressure (the blood pressure between heartbeats) on the right. Your pulse rate may also be displayed in between or after this reading. ⦁ Allow the cuff to deflate. ⦁ If you did not get an accurate reading, DO NOT inflate the cuff again right away. Wait one minute before repeating the measurement. Start by reapplying the cuff. 4. Record your blood pressure. Follow your doctor's instructions on when and how often you should measure your blood pressure. Record the date, time, systolic and diastolic pressures. You should also record any special circumstances like any recent exercise, meal, or stressful event. At least once a year, and especially after you first purchase your blood pressure monitor, bring your monitor with you to your doctor's visit to check the machine’s accuracy. This is done by comparing a blood pressure reading from your machine with one from the doctor's office machine. Manual Blood Pressure Kit - http://amzn.to/2bJnNlh Step 1 - Choose the right gear: What you will require: 1. A quality stethoscope 2. A fittingly measured circulatory strain sleeve 3. A circulatory strain estimation instrument, for example, an aneroid or mercury segment sphygmomanometer or a robotized gadget with a manual swell mode. Step 2 - Prepare the patient: Make beyond any doubt the patient is casual by permitting 5 minutes to unwind before the main perusing. The patient ought to sit upright with their upper arm situated so it is level with their heart and feet level on the floor. Evacuate abundance garments that may meddle with the BP sleeve or contract blood stream in the arm. Make certain you and the patient cease from talking amid the perusing. Step 3 - Choose the best possible BP sleeve size: Most estimation blunders happen by not taking an ideal opportunity to pick the correct sleeve size. Wrap the sleeve around the patient's arm and utilize the INDEX line to figure out whether the patient's arm outline falls inside the RANGE region. Something else, pick the fitting littler or bigger sleeve. Step 4 - Place the BP sleeve on the patient's arm: Palpate/find the brachial supply route and position the BP sleeve so that the ARTERY marker focuses to the brachial corridor. Wrap the BP sleeve cozily around the arm. Step 5 - Position the stethoscope: On the same arm that you put the BP sleeve, palpate the arm at the antecubical fossa (wrinkle of the arm) to find the most grounded heartbeat sounds and place the ringer of the stethoscope over the brachial supply route at this area. Step 6 - Inflate the BP sleeve: Begin pumping the sleeve knob as you listen to the beat sounds. At the point when the BP sleeve has sufficiently expanded to stop blood stream you ought to hear no sounds through the stethoscope. The gage ought to peruse 30 to 40 mmHg over the individual's ordinary BP perusing. In the event that this quality is obscure you can blow up the sleeve to 160 - 180 mmHg. (On the off chance that heartbeat sounds are heard immediately, swell to a higher weight.) Step 7 - Slowly Deflate the BP sleeve: Begin emptying. The AHA suggests that the weight ought to fall at 2 - 3 mmHg every second, anything quicker may likely result in a mistaken estimation. * Step 8 - Listen for the Systolic Reading: The primary occurence of musical sounds heard as blood moves through the supply route is the patient's systolic weight. This may look like a tapping commotion at first. Step 9 - Listen for the Diastolic Reading: Continue to listen as the BP sleeve weight drops and the sounds blur. Note the gage perusing when the musical sounds stop. This will be the diastolic perusing. Step 10 - Double Check for Accuracy: The AHA suggests bringing a perusing with both arms and averaging the readings. To check the weight again for exactness hold up around five minutes between readings. Normally, pulse is higher in the mornings and lower in the nights. In the event that the pulse perusing is a worry or covered or white coat hypertension is suspected, a 24 hour circulatory strain study might be required to evaluate the patient's general circulatory strain profile. How Do I Take my Blood Pressure? Before taking your blood pressure: Find a quiet place. (You will need to listen for your heartbeat.) Roll up the sleeve on your left arm or remove any tight-sleeved clothing, if needed. (It's best to take blood pressure from the left arm, if possible.) Awake Orangutan Blood Pressure Reading

02:10
High blood pressure is a major contributor of heart disease in humans, as great apes share over 98% of our DNA, it also may affect the disease in apes. We still know very little little about normal blood pressure in apes, especially orangutans. It is important that we are able to attain awake blood pressure readings, as anesthetics can affect the readings. Watch as the animal care team demonstrates a blood pressure reading with Chantek the orangutan. Chantek puts his arm in the Tough Cuff sleeve. He is trained with constant positive reinforcement to remain still during the reading. We then share the results with other organizations via the Great Ape Heart Project database, to analyze cardiac data, generate reports, and coordinate cardiac-related research activities. The Great Ape Heart Project is a multi-institutional collaboration that seeks to understand, diagnose, and treat cardiac disease across all four non-human great ape taxa (gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and bonobos). The home of the nation’s largest collection of western lowland gorillas and the largest zoological collection of orangutans in the U.S., Zoo Atlanta is also the leader of a project that will benefit all great apes living in zoos. Find out more about the Great Ape Heart Project at: http://www.zooatlanta.org/great_ape_heart_project.

*Ozeri Blood Pressure Monitor*

This isn't going to be a long description , for the simple fact that it should be universal knowing the importance of taking your blood pressure . When you order an Ozeri blood pressure monitor , it will be easy to know your BP (blood pressure ). There are two numbers that will appear ; at the top is the systolic and the bottom is the diastolic . The bottom number should be with the 80 or slightly above or slightly lower range . The top number should be 120 or a slight higher or a slight lower . When I say higher I mean no higher that 10 . So if your blood pressure reads 140 for the top number and 90 at the bottom , you may have pre hypertension . 120/80 is what we aim for but remember factors that can effect your blood pressure ; 1. If you just ate (sodium ). 2. Have you been moving a lot ? 3. Try not to talk While taking your blood pressure . 4. Have you had any water for that day ? When my blood pressure is high , I relax and drink water then I take it again - because I know that I monitor my salt intake , and that I drink plenty of water , I know that my blood pressure shouldn't be high (also because my recorded blood pressure by the doctors are always low ).. At any rate , with the Ozeri monitor you simply ; place the two provided batteries into the battery space . The you simply place the easy to put on cuff onto your wrist - and hit the start button . You will feel the cuff tightening , and after a few moments , your blood pressure will be displayed ! You can check it out at their website : Ozeri BP01K CardioTech Pro Series Digital Blood Pressure Monitor with Heart Health and Hypertension Indicator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004FO2DSE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_zvL4vbXT2HN51 **I received this item free , in exchange for an honest review . All opinions are my own as such . I am not a physician , you should always consult your doctor when/if you have any suspicions of high blood pressure . You should Also consult your physician if your blood pressure is very low ...

Can I get my Blood Pressure checked at home | Telugu

How the Gastric Sleeve Surgery Can Help Relieve Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Sleep Apnea

Obesity is a chronic disease. Being obese is completely different than just weighing too much. Obesity is a disease that affects more than one-third of the U.S. adult population. The healthcare costs of American adults with obesity amount to approximately $190 billion per year. Obesity and being overweight may increase the risk of many health problems, such as: Type 2 diabetes, high blood pleasure, heart disease, stroke, sleep apnea, among others. Type 2 Diabetes In early's 2000's diabetes was the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. Type 2 Diabetes consists in high blood sugar levels that can majorly cause heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, amputation, and blindness. More than 87% of adults with diabetes are overweight or obese and losing weight may help prevent or delay the onset of diabetes. High Blood Pressure Also known as hypertension, high blood pressure has to do with how hard your blood pushes against the walls of your arteries. High blood pressure can cause many health problems including heart failure, vision loss, stroke and kidney diseases. Being overweight may increase blood pressure because the heart needs to pump harder to supply blood to the body. People with obesity or who are overweight are more likely to suffer from high blood pressure. Sleep apnea Sleep Apnea is not just snoring or feeling tired during the day – it is a serious medical condition in which a person has one or more pauses when breathing during sleep. A person who is overweight may have more fat stored around his or her neck. A smaller airway can make breathing difficult or loud (which causes snoring), or breathing may stop altogether for short periods of time. 92% of obese males over 45 tested by Healthy Sleep Solutions were diagnosed with sleep apnea 86% of all obese patients were diagnosed with sleep apnea compared to 60% who were in a healthy weight range. If you consider yourself overweight, losing at least 5 percent of your body weight may lower your risk for these diseases and other diseases that are a direct consequence of being overweight.
