How Zoloft Changed My Life

💪⚡ Try Online Counseling: http://tryonlinetherapy.com/johnniejune If you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other mental illness consider online counseling with a licensed professional at BetterHelp. It’s far cheaper and more convenient than in-person counseling. Believe me, you are worth it. Depression and anxiety are two things that I have dealt with for most of my (almost) 22 years. However, after many tries, I found the right antidepressant for me....Zoloft! Comment below if you have ever used Zoloft [Sertraline] and let me know how it affected you.

Zoloft Update - 4 Months

02:40
My last video about Zoloft! Obviously, what I've experienced won't be everyone's experience with Zoloft, but the medication does seem to be working for me. DISCLAIMER: I am also in therapy and have been since I started this medication, so any amount of the change I've noticed might be attributed to that. I definitely recommend if you can to do a combination of medication and therapy.

THE SECRETS OF SEROXAT (2002)

48:22
Seroxat is one of the world's biggest selling and most successful antidepressants. But this Panorama investigation discovers the drug may have a darker side - the programme reports that people can get hooked on it, suffering serious withdrawal symptoms when they try to come off it. For some it can lead to self harm and even suicide. But little warning of these possible side effects accompanies the drug. These are accusations that the drug's maker GlaxoSmithKline denies. The programme follows one Seroxat user and charts her nine month struggle to wean herself off it. Panorama also spoke to Dr David Healy, an expert on the drug who has had access to confidential Seroxat studies in the GlaxoSmithKline archives. Panorama: The Secrets of Seroxat was first aired on BBC One on Sunday 13 October 2002

6 yrs psych drug free: How I made it through the darkest times of protracted withdrawal syndrome

12:17
For more see the post on Beyond Meds: http://beyondmeds.com/2016/02/09/6years-off/ Today is my anniversary off a huge psych drug cocktail I'd been on for 20 years. Below the video I made for this occasion is a cut and paste collection of the now 6 years documented since the also six year withdrawal process. http://beyondmeds.com/2010/01/10/recap-6-drugs-6-years-2/ In the video I speak to the inner resources that kept me going. I want to add here that I also was privileged to have a safe home and 24/7 hour care when I was bedridden and unable to leave the house for anything at all. Both the home and the care were provided for me by my husband. No one else in my life, including most of my close family had a clue what we were dealing with. I have to believe if they did they would have done more. The fact is there is nothing in society to help those who love us to understand what we are going through. There is a general denial by the medical establishment that this can even happen. This is something I’ve mostly been able to forgive but I don’t necessarily feel ready to spend much time with most of my family either. My mother is an exception here…she stayed in touch with my husband throughout the whole thing and was willing to do what she could. Indeed she often helped us stay afloat financially, which was, of course, critically important to staying alive. (I couldn’t speak very well for a couple of years so communicating by phone was out) So, my husband and I came through this together. There were many times I would have preferred to be alone given how heinously isolating this experience was simply by nature of the fact that no one can even begin to fathom what we are going through… This fact was painful for both me and Paul in different ways. For more info see: The isolation and sense of abandonment many people deal with when sick with protracted withdrawal illness. http://wp.me/P5nnb-3xy Those of us who have experienced protracted psychiatric drug withdrawal syndromes will always be the only ones who can give each other that acknowledgment. And it’s likely we will continue to freak out pretty much everyone around us when it’s at it’s worst. Anyway, the fact is I would be dead without Paul’s care and so that needs to be made clear as well. He has a deep trust and faith in life too and I wouldn’t have made it without his unusual ability to maintain that in the face of what I went through. Most people would have had me institutionalized, where I certainly would have died. It is a miracle that my husband could hold this space for me. Seriously a miracle. Most folks who come off these drugs don’t become as totally disabled as I did and can still leave the house etc. Not so for me and so, yes, my husband literally kept me alive and provided the space for me to literally disintegrate so that I could come back together again as well. One other person was a visitor during those darkest times. A woman who has become my dear friend. Sent to me from a volunteer organization to give me reiki, she could stand being with me as a witness when no one else could. Mary Joy had spent time as a chaplain in hospice and so knew how to be with people in pain. She told me once that she hadn’t seen another human being in all her time as chaplain who had to go through such an ordeal. She was completely serious. Having myself worked in hospice I know this to be true as well. It wasn’t something I would ever have concluded on my own, but since she said it and it rings true (I’ve worked in hospice too), I share it here now. How I got off Paxil quickly

04:46
After being "paxil free" for 2 weeks I decided to share how I did it. Ween with very little withdrawal. Disclaimer: Always consult with a medical professional before stopping ANY medication!!!! Withdrawals going cold turkey were very difficult to deal with. Tried twice and it was terrible. Alternatively, my weening process took about 2 months, and it was not all that bad! This is an explanation of how I succeeded, not on how YOU should do it. Comment with any questions or clarifications on the video. Share with others who could benefit in knowing it is possible to be paxil free.

If you look at all of the videos on this channel, social anxiety is definitely a hot topic. Tim was kind enough to share his experience with social anxiety and how he overcame this very indescribable emotions. There is nothing better than hearing a success story when it relates to mental health. Overview: The Most and Least Effective Antidepressants

05:25
522 randomized controlled trials involving 21 antidepressants and 116,477 people were analyzed. It appears the most effective antidepressants (at a duration of 8 weeks) include amitriptyline, escitalopram, mirtazapine, paroxetine, and venlafaxine. While reboxetine and trazodone had notably lower efficacy ratings. Some of the most effective drugs had lower tolerability scores, however, indicating they may have a greater side effect burden. The antidepressant literature shows signs of potential bias, so the results have to be considered with that in mind. This expensive drug basically offers the same anti-depressant activity as the generic forms of Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil or Celexa but at a much greater price. For some unknown reason nausea remains a common, long lasting side effect. Nowhere in the barrage of televised advertising is there mention that the daily cost of the drug exceeds $10 versus $3-10 for one month of the generic versions of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

PAXIL withdrawal

04:55
I WENT TO HELL AND BACK FOR ONLY $4.00 BUCKS!!! Took Paxil and now im suffering. Awful medication. Be careful. This is what happens once you stop it. Cut me some slack, i know im talking weird, and rambling, but this is the real thing.. and it sucks! A minor correction: that was a Lincoln Zephyr that i kicked.. i know that i was at fault by doing that! Its just that all the emotions, having to go to work unwillingly, and constant stress all this combined with Paxil withdrawals led me to do something i never thought i would ever in my life do.

Paxil - Social Anxiety Commercial

01:01
In 1992, the FDA approved the drug Paroxetine (Paxil) Only after GSK, the makers of Paxil started advertising a condition defined as "social anxiety disorder" was when their profits have skyrocketed with billions of prescriptions around the world being dispensed. GSK has disclosed information about the dangers of this drug such as severe withdrawals and birth defects. As a result GSK has had many lawsuits over the years: http://injury.findlaw.com/product-liability/paxil-lawsuit-information.html Class action lawsuits against Paxil have cost the manufacturers billions in patient compensation. Paxil producer, GlaxoSmithKline, was met with Paxil lawsuits and charges ranging from wrongful death to birth defects. Another charge among the Paxil lawsuits was antitrust claims. GlaxoSmithKline was recently ordered to pay a fine totaling over $3 billion for Paxil lawsuit cases. Prosecutors allege that the company is guilty of illegal promotion of the medication. Paxil was advertised as being safe and effective for the treatment of depression in children. However, this was done despite the FDA never approving the use of Paxil for anyone under the age of 18. In 2007, GlaxoSmithKline was requested to submit negative data reports in a Paxil lawsuit case in New York. The company was accused of misrepresenting data for prescribing Paxil to children. Since then, the company has been ordered to contribute any available new data regarding medical problems for the next 10 years. http://www.drugdangers.com/ssri/paxil/lawsuit.htm

Thank you. DEPRESSION SCREENING TEST: http://healingfromdepression.com/depression-screening-test.htm My Story My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a vaccine called VIVITROL and consequently spiraled into a major, agitated, suicidal depression with depersonalization. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last year and 10 months, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time!

How SSRIs (Paxil) Really Messed Me Up

09:46
Paxil, Prozac and Zooloft are all fluoride pills. In 1998 I convinced a psychiatrist to prescribe me Paxil for Social Anxiety Disorder due to Excessive Sweating. Both of these so called diseases were merely the result of a poor diet consisting of too much meat, carbs, sugar, caffiene and alcohol. A truly raw food diet will eliminate excessive sweating and prove your self control resulting in self confidence and personal power. (Also, forgive me for saying Celbrexa. I meant Cymbalta.) http://www.paxilprogress.org http://www.ahrp.org/risks/aldred0404.php http://www.facebook/mtbikemike

Wellbutrin

19:38
Wellbutrin, more commonly prescribed as the generic Bupropion, remains a widely prescribed therapy for depression. Popular in part because it may lead to less weight gain and sexual dysfunction compared to other antidepressants, it probably lacks significant major therapeutic advantages versus its competitors. While Bupropion may provide some relief, it neither cures depression nor completely eliminates the symptoms.

SSRI, LEXAPRO Brain Damage

26:17
Facebook Group for victims, not open to the public, but available if you have had a similar event: https://www.facebook.com/groups/241028905999497/ Severe adverse reaction to one 10mg pill of Lexapro (escitalopram) almost 5 years ago. I am attempting to share my experiences, thoughts and opinions about SSRI drugs and what happened to me. I live in Kentucky, United States. Please comment or send an email to discuss this issue. Lexapro, has ruined my life. One 10mg pill severely damaged my brain. 8 hours after taking the pill, I entered into a world of a neurological nightmare. I am afraid this happens more often than we know. I could have very easily been placed in a psyche-ward or accidentally killed myself the first few days after taking that pill. Then, no one would be able to tell my story. What happened........ After suffering a chronic sleep disorder for decades, I couldn't get more than 4 hours of sleep a night so I went to the doctor for some medical help. September 23rd 2006: The doctor prescribed Lexapro (10mg). So I took this pill having been reassured by frequent television adverstisements that it was safe. My doctor also acted as if these pills were harmless. I took the pill and went to sleep about noon. 8 hours later I woke to the most awful, strange, powerful inner sensations. I was also filled with a feeling of dread or horror. I had never experienced anything like this before and I couldn't believe it. It felt as if my brain was dying...... I jumped out of bed and ran around my house.... I couldn't stop moving or the sensations would get worse. Sheer horror! The symptoms: Many are similar to Serotonin Syndrome. Waves of nervous energy flowing through my body like painful electric shocks Inner tremor Mania Extreme pressure in head Couldn't lay down flat Extreme panic and fear...dread Sensations of my brain and body burning or sizzling, buzzing Intense disconnected feeling from reality High Fever (103) Flu-like symptoms Terrible headache Extreme nausea Waves of sensations throughout my body and skin Visual hallucinations Visual impairments Dizzy spells Unable to exercise much unable to tolerate caffeine, alcohol and other vitamins or medicines Akathisia (inability to stop moving) Panic Showering would hurt my skin Unable to lay down Dizziness Loud ringing in the ears (High frequency) Racing and violent thoughts BRAIN ZAPS (Immediate equilibrium interruption or disruption) Racing, uncontrollable thoughts unable to control emotions Inability to focus Unable to listen to music Unable to listen to music High fever Flu-like symptoms (exactly like the flu) Profuse sweating Unable to distinguish TV from reality Felt like being out of reality Anxiety Depression (due to circumstances) Hyper-sensitivity to almost everything Screaming upon waking I really didn't think I was going to survive. It has been over 4 years since then and I have had to deal with some of these symptoms, in varying degrees, since then. I made slow progress over the years but unfortunately I haven't recovered completely. Plus, since then I have been having unexplained strokes.

Enemy Number One: Paxil SSRI Withdrawal

07:22
Ok, first off, I want to make sure that I make it clear that what I had done was not wise. I do not want to come across as though I have the answers, because I do not. I may "think" that I have the answers for me, which may very well be the answer for you but it most definitely will NOT be the answer for many. I do not encourage anyone to do what I have done. During this entire ordeal I had not sought professional psychiatric or medical care whatsoever. If you're feeling really bad (you know what I mean here) then you need to see someone and not be as stubborn, ignorant, or take the risks that I have taken. I do not want to influence a single person in the wrong direction. My words are only for support, encouragement in a sense, but not to be highly influential in the choices that are right for YOU. Think about it passively if you wish, but don't take it any more seriously than that. PLEASE!!! This drug is a monster and a half. Be kind to yourself, please. Thank you.
