Skin & Ear Infections Cured in a Westie Dog, pt 1 of 2
From Homeopathic Associates, the telephone clinic of Manfred Mueller, MA, DHM, RSHom(NA), CCH and Christina Mueller, C.Hom, MM.Hom www.HomeopathicAssociates.com Watch this live, video testimonial about a West Highland White Terrier dog who’s multiple chronic health conditions have either been cured or significantly improved by using The Mueller Method of Homeopathy. (https://homeopathicassociates.com/about-our-clinic/#MuellerMethod) This video testimonial below was filmed October 2015 during the Course on Integrative Medicine at the University of North Carolina Medical School in Chapel Hill, NC, USA. View part 2 of this testimonial: https://youtu.be/c3S3CKH_0hI Don’t forget to subscribe to our channel! Morgan's complaints as submitted by his owner: On-going ear and skin infections. Discharges vary from yellow to green in color. They have an odor like cheese. Anal Gland issues: fishy odor and in need of frequent anal gland expressing. Always licking and scratching. Thick crust on his legs, chest and throat. Wrinkled dark gray pigment skin. His skin is always damp, especially after he wakes up from sleeping – could be any time of the day or night. The crust varies from thick like dried up oatmeal to fine. He also has a hard pink bump on his back, it is mostly on the surface of the skin, when i lift the skin it moves with it. The infections have been on-going for the past three years. He continually tries to eat wood chips and acorns. When did you first notice these issues? a double ear infection of yellow discharge around the time Morgan was 3. He was treated allopathically and after that things got worse. I contacted a homeopath because after the Prednisone issue(also called Deltasone · Sterapred · Sterapred DS · Rayos · Prednicot · Prednisone Intensol, Liquid Pred, Orasone, Adasone, Prednisonum), he not only had his skin turn black, but he lost most of his fur. He lived in a cone and a dog pj for a good six months! The homeoapthic remedy actually turned him around by next day. He actually came out of the kennel and wagged his tail. Things did start to improve slowly, discharges slowed, ears improved a bit, kept having relapses. What treatments did you try? First I contacted our Vet because of the ear infections – he put him on prednisone and Mometamax antibiotic (aka Gentamicin sulfate, Mometasone furoate, Clotrimazole) – ears improved and itchies also improved BUT within three weeks of the weaning off the prednisone and ending the antibiotics – he was in a full blown disaster, he wouldn’t leave his crate. He had discharges coming from everywhere, ears, nose, skin, penis and anus. His skin turned black, he lost 90% of his fur, he was so ill I thought we were going to lose him. So I contacted a Homeopath who began treating him and had been working his case ever since. The only diagnosis I received was the one from the vet – his response – "He’s a Westie and he has allergies. Treat him with Benadryl." Glad I ignored his advice. I found it resembled canine demodicosis, even though our vet missed it. standard puppy vaccines (Parvovirus [Parvo Vaccine], Rabies, Canine Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis (CAV-1 or CAV-2) ) . he had Coccidia (a parasitic type of infection that causes loose stools/diarrhea) and kennel cough. he scratched from the very beginning when we got him at 10 weeks, he had small pimples all over his belly and back and fleas, and even after he was treated with the antibiotic Albon (sulfamethoxazole) for the coccydia, he had a tendency toward loose stools! neutered at 6 months was Microchipped the usual – Heartworm, flea and tick control medications (Heartguard, Sentinel, Trifexis, Revolution, Advantage, Interceptor) – and junk dog food of course we didn’t know any better, refused his annual rabies shot at the age of one and he hasn’t had any since. used Malaseb shampoo (an antifungal/antiseptic shampoo with Miconazole Nitrate 2%, Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2%) Since then he has been on raw diet, no heartworm or flea and tick topicals. No vaccinations since he was 6 months. For the past three years Morgan has been on many homeopathic remedies for dogs – nothing cured his chronic illness. He was mostly on 30C potency remedies, very rarely would she (the homeopath) use an 1M potency, I have to say that I think Morgan is very sensitive, he has in the past had aggravations to his doses.

Pug having leg seizure - 1 of 4 by FollowThatTrail
This is a 4 part video series that I took while my Pug Buffy the Vacuum Slayer was experiencing leg seizures or muscle spasms of unknown origin. Part 4 contains the cure. Use the playlist link below to play all sequentially. Fortunately, we were able to resolve almost all of her problems. Part 4: The last video has a home remedy recipe that gave Buffy temporary relief. The primary vet and chiropractic vet suspected crushed vertebrae just above her tail, which occurred in an apparent fall at a previous vet clinic. They think a pinched nerve is the cause of the spasm. The alternative vet suspects a severe allergic reaction to the Frontline or Rabies shot she received. I suspect all. My treatment plan is to pursue cold laser treatments for pain/allergies for both conditions (3 treatments total about $600) **UPDATE**: This was a complicated one requiring two alternative vets to figure out. The seizure turned out to be caused by a pinched nerve in her back, which was irritated/activated when she needed to have a bowel movement. Once she finished her business, the leg jerking resolved. It was determined with xrays that the pinched nerved was the result of an undiagnosed back fracture from a year earlier. The weakness in her back legs, or foot dragging was a combination of allergy to Frontline and to a commercial chicken based food. The frontline caused an itchy rash and hair loss in both spots where it was applied (neck and tail.) The Frontline caused my other Pugs to break out also. The scratching resulted in a staph infection. A yeast infection turned her skin pink all over and this was a result of the improper diet plus antibiotics for the staph infection. As they say, one thing leads to another when it comes to drugs. The yeast infection required Diflucan during and after the antibiotics. The alternative doctor was the most successful in treating her. He put her on a duck only diet. The itching stopped almost immediately and her skin cleared up. We were feeding Merrick but now feed a combination of Merrick Duck and the Duck Raw Food Diet. URINARY CRYSTALS To complicate things, it had been determined that she had urinary crystals before the seizures/back fracture occurred. This led to painful urinary infections (which lasted four years) until I finally followed the instructions of the Chiropractic vet to feed raw. Within 30 days the crystals resolved and have stayed away permanently with lots of vigilance (UTI testing, occasional antibiotics.) Regarding the Raw food diet, this was miraculous. Unfortunately, Buffy is a picky eater so I have to give her variety. I put cooked carrots with the raw, and the dry Merrick as a snack. Treats are limited to American made duck jerky and sweet potato sticks only available at Petco, our Family Dollar store and Big Lots. ALLERGIES: The severe itching and weeping sores kept recurring each month and it was determined that I had to eliminate Frontline. We now use Sentry Natural Defense plus weekly flea combing This greatly reduced the itching and redness. Other things I used to fix the Frontline problem was Sulfodene shampoo and Zymox Enzymatic Rinse to keep the itching or hives under control. This Frontline problem began occurring almost immediately after it was announced that veterinarians had a new type of flea treatment available for sale. We abandoned use of any type of over-the-counter flea treatment over 15 years ago but it looks like we are being forced to abandon both Frontline and all veterinary chemicals permanently. I encourage all pet owners whose animals have allergies to go the organic raw route with everything. SAY "NO" TO ORAL STEROIDS which will kill your dog in under a year.

Hot Spots in the German Shepherd - Hot Spots - Hot Spot Care
http://www.total-german-shepherd.com These painful hot spots can happen in just a matter of hours with no warning at all. Watch this video to learn how to prevent hot spots & treat hot spots in the GSD. Anything that irritates or breaks the skin of a dog can create an environment perfect for bacterial contamination. And if the dogs skin surface has just a tiny bit of moisture on it, it doesn't take anytime at all for the bacteria to spread. Typically, these circular patches will lose hair, are swollen and "pussie" and can be very itchy and painful to the touch. Also, this moist, raw skin disorder has a lot of different causes, but the most consistent factor seems to be bacteria. The affected dog will feel compelled to scratch, lick, or bite the affected area to the point of self-mutilation. Skin redness, oozing, pain to the touch, and itchiness are all hallmark signs that your dog has a hot spot. Any dog can develop these, but those dogs most susceptible to these infections are those with heavy coats and histories of allergies, ear infections, flea infestations, irritated anal sacs or grooming problems such as hair mats. Dogs in warm, humid climates are more prone to develop hot spots too when they shed their undercoats if they are not groomed thoroughly. If the underlying cause is indeed tangled or matted hair or trapped dead hair, put the dog on a regular and thorough grooming schedule to help reduce this problem.

Scotty Scratching!
Our poor little dog has such bad "Doggy B.O," that he attracts fleas after each walk. In August, he had some fleas that we couldn't locate on his body, and one day he decided to shake/scratch them off. It got so bad, we had to put him on Steroids to stop the itching. He's now on some pretty good flea meds, and has thatnkfully, stopped all the scratching!

RIP - A5085686 Cassie | Miniature Schnauzer Mix
A5085686 Cassie is a serene 3-year-old black female Miniature Schnauzer mix who was found as a stray and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on July 3rd. Weighing 15 lbs, Cassie is a gentle, loving dog who finds the shelter environment understandably overwhelming. She is comfortable being held and cuddled, and we think has a future as a star lap dog. She wouldn’t walk on leash for us in the shelter, but with a little time to decompress in a home environment, we’re confident Cassie’s confidence will flourish. Cassie came into the shelter with some alopecia (hair loss) on her rear that our shelter vet believes is related to flea allergy and should resolve now that she is flea-free. Cassie is a lovely little gal who will thrive in a caring home. For more information on this pet, contact volunteer UHA adoption coordinator Viri at 626-318-2038 or vfloera@gmail.com. Dee Gunter is a breeder of Coonhounds. She breeds Bluetick, American English (Redtick) Coonhounds and Redbone Coonhounds. The Redbone Coonhound is an American breed of dog used for hunting raccoon, deer, bear, and cougar. The American Kennel Club standard says, "The Redbone mingles handsome looks and an even temperament with a confident air and fine hunting talents."[2] This breed has been registered with the United Kennel Club since 1902 and the American Kennel Club since 2009. The Redbone is the breed of hound featured in the classic novel Where the Red Fern Grows. The English Coonhound, also referred to as the American English Coonhound (by the American Kennel Club only) or the Redtick Coonhound, is a breed of coonhound that originated and is typically bred in the Southern United States. It is descended from hunting hounds brought to America by settlers during the 17th and 18th centuries, resulting in the dogs known as the "Virginia Hounds". The breed's first recognition came from the United Kennel Club in 1905 as the English Fox and Coonhound. Further recognition has been granted in recent years by the American Kennel Club, first in the Foundation Stock Service and in 2011 as a fully recognized member of the hound group. In this video Dee gives us a full rundown of the American English and Redbone Coonhounds. The American English formerly known as the Redtick Coonhound is a more freindly Coonhound in comparison to the Redbone. The Redbone is much more aloof and wary of new people.

Meet Dulce a Terrier American Pit Bull currently available for adoption at Petango.com! 12/20/2016
Dulce is currently in foster. If you'd like to meet her please contact us at: foster@nyanimalrescue.org Pretty velvet hippo looking for a home! Dulce is our 4 year old Pibble mix who came to us after she was abandoned in Prospect Park. This pretty lady is sugary sweet and a pleasure to be around. She is currently in foster, and she loves her foster mama. She is definitely a spongecake of a dog who will attach very quickly to any family that adopts her. Dulce loves to play with her toys and would love an active family who will run around and play with her. She is afraid of men who hold things that look like sticks, so we believe this girl may have been abused in the past. Because of this, she would do best in a low traffic home. This pretty lady is selective about her doggy friends, but great with people and lives with a 10 year old with no issues. Dulce does have allergies and needs some additional care. This sugary sweet girl may be a diamond in the rough, but any dedicated family would be lucky to have this girl in their home. If you'd like to meet Dulce please contact us at: foster@nyanimalrescue.org Dulce is spayed, dewormed, treated to prevent fleas & ticks and is up to date with vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $300.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC, and she'll get one free exam at our vet's office, one free month of pet health insurance and a microchip. If you'd like to adopt her please call or visit...we are conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and we are open daily from 11am to 7pm. Dulce can't wait to meet you! Sean Casey Animal Rescue 153 E. 3 St. between Ft Hamilton Pkwy & Caton Ave Brooklyn, NY 11218 718.436.5163

Cairn Terrier ~ Puppies for Sale, by Pets4You.com
http://www.pets4you.com/dogs.html Quality Puppies available at Pets4You.com Visit us today! Video created for Marty Martinez History Cairn Terriers are a relatively old breed, and were the last to be formally named within the Terrier family. According to the Cairn Terrier Club of America, it is believed that more than two centuries ago, the forerunners of today's Cairn Terrier served to vanquish rodents from "cairns" or piles of rock on farms in Scotland on the isle of Skye and in the Scottish Highlands. One should expect the same kind of hunting instinct within the household. Used to seek the presence of mice, squirrels, etc., grafters, shepherds and fox hunters commonly used them to wriggle into the "cairns" and bark to hold the predator until it was captured and killed. (The word "cairn" also refers to the rock dens that foxes and badgers live in throughout the countryside.) Appearance On sight, the Cairn Terrier appears small and short-legged. But it is a very active breed with a strong build and well-rooted ribs. Sharing the appearance of a fox, it comes in different colors and can be tolerant of any weather conditions due to its hairy undercoat. The male weighs about 14 pounds; the female, a little less. Measuring about ten inches, the male is about a half inch taller than the female. Very petite and well-proportioned size, its life span is between ten to fifteen years. Temperament True to the saying you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, the Cairn Terrier is very independent and unique unto itself. Each possesses an individual personality making it different from all others. With an equally singular temperament, if not well curbed, this dog could become mutinous to its owner, attempting to claim the role of boss in the relationship. However, genuinely fun-loving, this dog adores children with a generous heart. Cairn Terriers are very intelligent and willful by nature and require some rigorous training. This yields the best result, as they can be exceptionally stubborn. To combat their proclivity to disobedience which is merely their way of expressing their independence, it is important to train them as puppies. They love toys and can be a bit exuberant at times. If an owner is pushed beyond his limit, the best strategy is to adopt a strong authoritative position to make the leadership role more evident to your pet. A new owner should not be surprised if Cairn Terriers dig holes in and around the house as a display of their natural instinct to seek rodents. Regular exercise such as daily walks and active brushing will aid the general fitness and behavior of this wonderful pet. Grooming Cairn Terriers appear somewhat shaggy on first impression but a good brushing improves their tidiness. It's very important to keep this breed of dog free of fleas, as they can be allergic to fleabites. Weekly, their old dead hair should be removed from their roots, which does not hurt the dog in any way. Health Although the Cairn Terrier is very healthy and lives between twelve and fourteen years, like every other breed, it can have several associated health problems as reported by veterinarians, breeders, and owners. There can be diseases or infections from toxins, age, or injuries. Common hereditary health issues found in Cairn Terriers are: progressive retinal atrophy; cataracts; Entropion; Soft Tissue Sarcoma; Von Willebrand Disease; luxating patella and more. Living Environment The Cairn Terrier is an apartment-friendly pet but enjoys a larger home just as much. Very active indoors, it can survive even without a yard. Cost of Ownership The purchase price of a Cairn Terrier could be about $550 for a 13-week-old puppy, but a prospective owner should consider the additional expense of medical issues, feeding, vaccines, and toys as well.

This video uses Google TTS en-US-Standard-D voice. SUMMARY ======= The wolf (Canis lupus), also known as the gray wolf, timber wolf, western wolf, and its other subspecies is a canine native to the wilderness and remote areas of Eurasia and North America. It is the largest extant member of its family, with males averaging 43–45 kg (95–99 lb) and females 36–38.5 kg (79–85 lb). Like the red wolf, it is distinguished from other Canis species by its larger size and less pointed features, particularly on the ears and muzzle. Its winter fur is long and bushy and predominantly a mottled gray in color, although nearly pure white, red, and brown to black also occur. Mammal Species of the World (3rd ed., 2005), a standard reference work in zoology, recognises 38 subspecies of C. lupus.. The gray wolf is the second most specialised member of the genus Canis, after the Ethiopian wolf, as demonstrated by its morphological adaptations to hunting large prey, its more gregarious nature, and its highly advanced expressive behavior. It is nonetheless closely related enough to smaller Canis species, such as the eastern wolf, coyote, and golden jackal, to produce fertile hybrids. It is the only species of Canis to have a range encompassing both the Old and New Worlds, and originated in Eurasia during the Pleistocene, colonizing North America on at least three separate occasions during the Rancholabrean. It is a social animal, travelling in nuclear families consisting of a mated pair, accompanied by the pair's adult offspring. The gray wolf is typically an apex predator throughout its range, with only humans and tigers posing a serious threat to it. It feeds primarily on large ungulates, though it also eats smaller animals, livestock, carrion, and garbage. A seven year-old wolf is considered to be relatively old, and the maximum lifespan is about 16 years. The global gray wolf population is estimated to be 300,000. The gray wolf is one of the world's best-known and most-researched animals, with probably more books written about it than any other wildlife species. It has a long history of association with humans, having been despised and hunted in most pastoral communities because of its attacks on livestock, while conversely being respected in some agrarian and hunter-gatherer societies. Although the fear of wolves is pervasive in many human societies, the majority of recorded attacks on people have been attributed to animals suffering from rabies. Non-rabid wolves have attacked and killed people, mainly children, but this is rare, as wolves are relatively few, live away from people, and have developed a fear of humans from hunters and shepherds.
