Today we will discuss how apple cider vinegar can help to reduce you cholesterol and maintain a good blood pressure. The role of apples in healthy cholesterol levels relies on their concentration of pectin, a fiber common to many fruits. The pectin found in ACV attracts bad cholesterol (LDL) and gets rid of unnecessary cholesterol, making your levels much healthier. With more pectin to absorb cholesterol in your system, levels are maintained at a healthy rate. The acetic acid in apple-cider vinegar is what makes it effective in lowering low-density-level (LDL) cholesterol. Also known as bad cholesterol, LDL cholesterol can increase a person's risk of developing serious conditions, such as heart disease and hypertension. How to drink Apple cider vinegar: According to a study published in the British Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers found that if you consume just one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in the morning, it helps to lower your cholesterol to normal level. Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of Lemon Juice 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tablespoon of Honey 1 Small Piece of grated ginger 1 Medium Size grated garlic clove Preparation: Mix very well all the ingredients until they combine. this recipe for one time only. you can make large quantity by adding the ingredients proportionately and store them in refrigerator. ► 5 Worst High Cholesterol Foods You Must Avoid [Clinically Proven]

05:39
See how my parents lowered their cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs: ►►►http://drsam.co/yt/StartLoweringYourCholesterolNaturally =============================== 5 Worst High Cholesterol Foods You Must Avoid [Clinically Proven] =============================== Cholesterol has many benefits and it’s definitely NOT your “enemy”. In fact, “low” cholesterol is just as bad as “high” cholesterol levels. However, there are certain foods that are really bad for you and can quickly increase your “bad” cholesterol levels and dramatically increase your risk for heart disease, a heart attack or stroke. Under this video I’ve got a special bonus video about how you can quickly lower your cholesterol levels in less than 30 days, naturally - without changing your diet or exercising. So make sure you take a look... However, let’s first start with the 5 worsts, clinically proven - “high cholesterol” foods that you must avoid! Dairy I’ve been saying this for over 2 decades - Milk is for babies and cow milk is for baby cows! Additionally, 99% of dairy products are pasteurized, which kills any benefits milk could have. Not to mention, the toxins, hormones and drugs these animals are given are highly concentrated in the milk - which goes inside of YOU! All of these factors, plus the saturated fat inside milk, increases your cholesterol and stresses your liver. It doesn’t matter if it’s whole, low or nonfat dairy, it’s all the same. Unfortunately, this also includes two of my favorite foods, ice cream and cheese! Fast Foods It doesn’t matter if it’s a burger, tacos, french fries, pizza or anything else - they’re all high in carbohydrates, hydrogenated and saturated fats, using unhealthy and toxic proteins. It’s cheap food. It may be easy and good for your wallet, but it’s bad for your health and cholesterol levels and you’ll pay the price later in life. Animal Protein The saturated fats and “marble fat” found in meat, pork, poultry and shell-fish is horrible for your health and cholesterol levels. I’ve noticed even grass-fed meat and free-range poultry can still cause high cholesterol in some of my patients, especially the “sensitive” ones. Limit your intake and focus more on vegetable proteins and fish - especially wild-caught salmon. Eggs Eggs can be good or bad. All the cholesterol and fat is located in the egg YOLK, which is why most “experts” say you should only consume egg whites. However, most of the nutrients, antioxidants and half the essential amino acids (protein) are also found in the yolk. The problem is when you COOK the yolk - such as hard-boiled, scrambled and fried eggs. The heat oxidizes the egg and damages both the structure of the protein and fat. So the healthiest way to eat eggs is raw or lightly cooked, so the yolk is still runny. Don’t fry it with butter or vegetable fats. And make sure it’s organic, free-range eggs. Baked Foods/Carbs (Snacks Too) Baked foods such as muffins, cakes, breads, donuts, croissants, rolls, cookies, danishes, scones, pie, etc… The types of foods most people eat in the morning when they’re in a rush, or with their coffee or at work as a snack… These are all bad because they contain hydrogenated and saturated fats, as well as dairy. Not to mention, they’re high in simple carbohydrates and sugars. “Bad” fats increase cholesterol. “Bad” fats + carbs/sugar REALLY increase your cholesterol and lead to numerous health issues. The combination is super unhealthy. Under this same category -- “Snack Foods” such as chips, pretzels, crackers and similar items are almost as bad as these bakes foods. How to Reduce Bad Cholesterol

02:29
Watch more Healthy Eating videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/432350-How-to-Reduce-Bad-Cholesterol A little attention to detail never hurt anyone and may have benefits if it involves monitoring what you put in your body. Reduce your bad cholesterol through simple disciplined measures that are proven to help. Step 1: Disrupt fat with exercise Use exercise to naturally disrupt the metabolism of fat. Eating less helps, but excess body fat will keep cholesterol up until you actually lose pounds by breaking a sweat. Moderate walking and workouts five days a week can raise good cholesterol by 10 percent. Tip The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health suggests everyone 20 and over should check their levels of bad cholesterol every five years. Step 2: Relax and reflect Relax and reflect periodically, rather than give in to the high tension that constricts arteries and raises blood pressure. If you're constantly stressing out, consider making some long-term changes that will eliminate some of your stres for good. Step 3: Get good greens Drink green tea, full of compounds that can help lower bad cholesterol. Eat leafy greens as well, for soluble fiber that sponges up cholesterol in the digestive tract. Step 4: Consume nuts Consume nuts instead of cheese, meat, or croutons in salads. According to the Food and Drug Administration, a daily handful of 42.5 grams of nuts may reduce cholesterol and the risk of heart disease. Step 5: Substitute fish Substitute meat with fish twice or three times weekly. Consuming fish can profoundly lower cholesterol and triglycerides. Step 6: Choose smart fats Select smart fats for your diet, substituting canola or olive oils for vegetable oil, butter, margarine, lard, or shortening. It's not merely fats, but the kind of fats you eat, that make the difference. Tip Eggs do not drastically increase cholesterol. Step 7: Take drugs to lower cholesterol Take a cholesterol-lowering drug if you have evident cardiovascular risks. Beforehand, consider alternatives like niacin, bile acid resins, and fibrates. Step 8: Commit to win Resolve to make changes, and live a healthy lifestyle. It's your life -- only you can make the changes to lower your bad cholesterol. Did You Know? In 2010, researchers identified nearly 100 gene variants possibly linked to as much as one third of hereditary factors influencing cholesterol production.

💓 Natural Alternatives To Statin Cholesterol Lowering Drugs

How my parents lowered their cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs: 👉 http://drsam.co/yt/Low-Cholesterol Or you can see 5 WORST high cholesterol foods: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QyL7WydW_c Refferences: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3108295/ http://www.nature.com/nrd/journal/v2/n7/full/nrd1112.html http://www.nature.com/nrd/journal/v2/n7/fig_tab/nrd1112_I1.html www.fda.gov/.../ucm082054.htm Endo A. Discovery and development of the statins. In: Gaw A, Packard CJ, Shepherd J. Statins: The HMG CoA reductase inhibitors in perspective. CRC Press, 1999; pp. 35-47. https://cen.acs.org/articles/87/i23/Story-Statins.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homocysteine ======================================= 💓 Natural Alternatives To Statin Cholesterol Lowering Drugs ======================================= One of the best selling and most profitable drugs for over 2 decades are cholesterol lowering, “statin drugs”. The first “commercially” available, FDA approved statin was introduced over 30 years ago (lovastatin 1997) and this was formulated based on a natural substance, that I’ll reveal to you in a minute. The most popular ones that you’ve probably heard of are Lipitor (Atorvastatin), Crestor (Rosuvastatin) and Zocor (Simvastatin). Muscle pain AND damage. Just keep in mind that your body, including your HEART is functional ONLY because of your muscles. Liver Damage 80% of your cholesterol is made within the liver, NOT from the foods you eat. These drugs go inside your liver, prevent the formation of cholesterol and in the process, DAMAGE your liver. Elevated Blood Sugar and Type 2 Diabetes One of the worst things for again and every problem in your body is high blood sugar and insulin levels. Neurological Problems Sure, it causes depression, anxiety, panic attacks, worry, etc., etc. I’m not even going to get into arthritis, elevated blood pressure and probably the WORST problem of all - hormonal imbalances. Natural Alternatives So let’s get right to it, I’ll make this quick. First, your goal is NOT to have “low” cholesterol, you want HEALTHY cholesterol levels. Additionally and more importantly, you ALSO want optimal ratios of your HDL (“good” cholesterol/lipoprotein) and LDL (“bad” cholesterol/lipoprotein). Well, that’s from Red Yeast Rice, which is a common food in Asia. The natural form of this extract, in small doses, has all the positive “cholesterol lowering” benefits, but without the negatives of the synthetic drugs. Other Cholesterol Optimizing Herbs Other clinically proven, natural herbal extracts that promote health cholesterol levels and balanced lipid levels, which are: Artichoke Leaf Extract Phytosterols Complex Garlic Policosanol Instead of taking thyroid drugs, I suggest taking Guggulsterones (10% Pure Extract; E and Z) Iodine (Kelp Extract) Cleanse Your Liver As stated earlier, most people don’t know that 80% of your cholesterol is created within your body, by your liver… and NOT from the foods you eat. This is why many times, the change in your diet doesn’t make dramatic improvements in cholesterol levels. Thus, the stronger your liver, the easier your body will eliminate and detox “excess cholesterol” from your blood. The irony is that ALL drugs, especially statins, cause liver damage and thus, will eventually increase your cholesterol levels. But, since this is almost impossible for most people, I suggest you take Milk Thistle (80% Extract) NAC (N-Acetyl L-Cysteine) - which also boost your immune system. R+ Alpha Lipoic Acid (r+ ALA) - which also helps lower your blood sugar. Reduce Homocysteine Levels All doctors are so focused on improving cholesterol to help you avoid heart disease, a heart attack or stroke -- that they forget (or don’t KNOW!) about something super important and that’s your Homocysteine Levels. In fact, researchers now believe that testing homocysteine levels is over 47% more accurate at predicting heart disease, than checking cholesterol. The cool part is that you can easily and quickly improve Homocysteine levels by simply taking a specific ratio of certain B-Vitamins Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCL) Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin) Folate (as 5-Methyl-tetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF)) Vitamin B5 [Pantesin® d-Pantethine (special form of B5)] Reduce Inflammation Finally, one of the leading causes of many illnesses and diseases is inflammation. And there are a few ingredients that’ll help reduce it, 3 of my favorites are: Turmeric (95% curcuminoids Extract) Ginger (10% extract) Mixed Vit. E - Tocotrienols (90% Delta &10% Gamma Tocotrienols) ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. A Drugfree Way to Lower Cholesterol

01:10
http://bloodpressureblog.all4utoday.info/blood-pressure-facts/benefits-of-early-blood-pressure-monitoring A Drugfree Way to Lower Cholesterol There has been a substantial increase in people having high cholesterol levels. It has been proven in many studies that an unhealthy increase in blood cholesterol levels can lead or be associated with the development of heart disease. High cholesterol levels can also increase the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death among people living in industrialized societies such as the US. The increasing incidence of high cholesterol levels in people living in this part of the world can often be contributed to a high saturated fat diet, smoking and leading a sedentary lifestyle. There are several dugs now available that is being used to treat unhealthy cholesterol levels in people. Most popular of these is the HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitor or what is more simply known as Statins. This group of cholesterol lowering drugs come in different name drugs and is increasingly being used in order to help high risk patients drastically lower their cholesterol levels. Statins can also increase the levels of HDL or "good" cholesterol. Although statins and other known drugs being used to lower cholesterol levels have been proven to be very effective, there are also other ways available for people to lower their cholesterol levels without the use of such drugs. One of these is trying to lead a more active lifestyle. Physical activity and exercise is an important part of several low cholesterol therapies that aim to reduce bad cholesterol levels. Regular exercise can also help in reducing blood pressure, excess weight as well as decrease the diabetes risk. Following a low cholesterol diet can also help a lot in trying to decrease high cholesterol levels. Scientists have found that a low cholesterol diet can help decrease cholesterol levels by as much as 29 percent in one month. This suggests that a combination diet can also be as effective as drugs like statins used to treat people with high cholesterol levels. It has also been established that eating low cholesterol and high fiber foods can cut individual cholesterol level by seven percent. A recommended diet that can help people avoid developing coronary heart disease include consuming non-hydrogenated or unprocessed fats, eating a rich diet of soy protein, nuts and fiber rich foods such as oats and barley. Increased consumption of Omega-3 fats from fish and other plant sources can also have a positive effect in any low cholesterol diet as well as a healthy amount of fruits and vegetables. http://bloodpressureblog.all4utoday.info/blood-pressure-facts/benefits-of-early-blood-pressure-monitoring

REDUCE CHOLESTEROL IN 2 WEEKS || PREVENT HEART ATTACK AND STROKE || MUSKAAN HAMAD

07:57
English Version is here: https://youtu.be/_A9udQnhQW4 Everyone's body needs cholesterol, but too much can spell trouble for some people. A soft, fat-like substance, cholesterol helps with vital body functions such as building new cells and making hormones. The body gets cholesterol in two ways: 80% of it is made by the liver, and the rest comes from the food you eat. Cholesterol is found in foods from animal products like meat, cheese, poultry, or fish. Foods that don't contain animal products may contain another harmful substance called trans fats, which cause your body to make more cholesterol. Also, foods with saturated fats cause the body to make more cholesterol. Foods high in sugar are also associated with developing higher cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol is carried through the bloodstream by attaching to certain proteins. The combination is called a lipoprotein. There are four different types of lipoproteins that carry cholesterol in the blood: High density lipoprotein (HDL) or "good cholesterol" Low density lipoprotein (LDL) or "bad cholesterol" Very low density lipoproteins (VLDL), which are very bad forms of cholesterol Chylomicrons, which carry very little cholesterol but a lot of another fat called triglycerides The amount of cholesterol in your bloodstream is important because of its role in various cardiovascular diseases. The risk of getting these conditions is complex and depends not only on how much cholesterol but also what kind of cholesterol you have in your blood. Generally speaking, high levels of LDL -- the "bad cholesterol" -- are associated with a higher chance of coronary heart disease; high levels of HDL -- or "good cholesterol" -- are associated with a lower chance. LDL cholesterol collects in the walls of arteries, leading to "hardening of the arteries" or atherosclerosis. People with atherosclerosis are in turn vulnerable to heart failure, heart attack, stroke, and other problems caused by clogged blood vessels. Even so, some people who have high LDL cholesterol never get heart disease, and many heart attack patients do not have high cholesterol levels. Cholesterol levels can increase with: Diets high in saturated fats, trans fats, and sugar Obesity A sedentary lifestyle Since no one can predict which people with high cholesterol will develop heart disease, play it safe and keep your cholesterol levels in check. Dietary control alone does not work for everyone; some people will also need to take medication to reduce their cholesterol levels. Another thing to keep in mind is triglycerides. Most of your body's fat is triglycerides. It's not clear whether high triglycerides alone increase your risk of heart disease, but many people with high triglycerides also have high LDL or low HDL levels, which do increase the risk of heart disease. Having low cholesterol levels is not immediately harmful to the body, but it may mean you have another medical condition that needs treatment (like hyperthyroidism, malnutrition, pernicious anemia, or sepsis). People who have abnormally high cholesterol levels are treated with medication, a healthy diet and regular exercise to bring their cholesterol down. But for a rare group of individuals, these standard treatments do not work. Now, a new life-saving therapy at Emory can actually wash away the bad cholesterol in these people and return cholesterol levels to normal. Background People who have abnormally high cholesterol levels are treated with medication, a healthy diet and regular exercise to bring their cholesterol down. But for a rare group of individuals, these standard treatments do not work. One in 1000 to one in 10,000 individuals inherits a gene for unusually high cholesterol called familial hypercholesterolemia. Now, a new life-saving therapy at Emory can actually wash away the bad cholesterol in these people and return cholesterol levels to normal. The therapy is the first of its kind in Georgia. This VNR features a patient who tried for years to lower her cholesterol through all of the normal means, but was unsuccessful -- until she tried LDL-apheresis. The so-called "cholesterol cleaner"cleans out the bad cholesterol from the blood. But this treatment isn't for everyone who has modestly elevated cholesterol levels. Soundbites include: Dr. Laurence Sperling, Co-director of the Apheresis Program at Emory and Peggy Vardeman, Patient. 8 Foods That Can Cause High Cholesterol

06:57
8 Foods That Can Cause High Cholesterol. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), saturated fat and fat transfer can increase cholesterol levels in the blood, leaving you at risk for heart disease. Many foods from animals-such as meat and dairy products that contain fat-containing saturated fats, while the baked products and fast food contains trans fats because the levels of LDL cholesterol ("bad") in particular may be too high for many dietary substances saturated fat, the AHA recommends that saturated fat occupies from 5 to 6% of your calories. Although it is important to limit the amount of cholesterol you get from food, which is a combination of fat and carbohydrates can have the greatest impact to your blood cholesterol levels. According to the AHA, you can make the egg becomes a part of a healthy diet, as long as you don't load the cholesterol from other sources, such as meat containing fat or skin and visible fat milk. However, before you purchase the double cheeseburger, consider this: A McDonald's Big Mac contains 10 grams of saturated fat and a Wendy's Classic Double With Everything has a whopping 20g saturated fat (which is the recommended maximum amount each day). By replacing 1% milk and evaporated milk for whole milk and butter and using reduced-fat cheese, you can reduce the amount of calories and have pasta and cheese with about a third of the fat and saturated fat than formula tradition. Whipped cream beats biscuits and candies such as the most common desserts; but did you know that a cup of single cream has more fat than burgers and almost twice the saturated fat of glazed cake?. Even in the best case (cooked in olive oil after the fat be trimmed), a 4 ounce steak (just a little larger than a card pieces) accounted for a large part of the level of the recommended daily allowance for saturated fat. For example, a chicken leg with the skin still on it has more fat and saturated fat than a hamburger. The fat is the result of the addition of hydrogen to vegetable oil, which are then used in many commercial baking goods or fried foods such as biscuits, cakes, French fries, onions and biscuits.

How to Lower Uric Acid Naturally

04:09
High levels of uric acid in the blood, also called hyperuricemia, can result from either increased production of uric acid in the body or decreased excretion of it through the kidneys. It can further lead to problems like gouty arthritis, kidney stones and renal failure. Factors that can contribute to a high uric acid level include a diet high in purines (purines are broken down into uric acid), excess alcohol consumption, renal insufficiency, obesity, underactive thyroid, genetics, diabetes, acidosis, and certain other diseases. There are some tips and natural remedies that can help reduce and control uric acid levels. 1. Apple Cider Vinegar Being a natural cleanser and detoxifier, apple cider vinegar can help remove wastes like uric acid from the body. It contains malic acid that helps break down and eliminate uric acid. Add one teaspoon of raw, organic, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar to a glass of water. Drink this solution two or three times a day. You can gradually increase the amount of apple cider vinegar up to two tablespoons per glass of water and continue this remedy until your uric acid levels come down. 2. Lemon Juice Though it may seem that lemon juice will make the body more acidic, in actuality, it produces an alkaline effect and helps neutralize uric acid. Plus, its vitamin C content also helps lower uric acid levels. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into a glass of warm water. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. Continue for at least a few weeks. 3. Cherries Cherries and dark berries contain chemicals that help reduce uric acid levels. Eat one-half cup of cherries daily for a few weeks. You can also drink one or two cups of tart cherry juice for about four weeks. For even better results, add blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes and bell peppers to your diet. 4. Baking Soda Baking soda, is highly beneficial for lowering uric acid levels and reducing gout pain. It helps maintain the natural alkaline balance in the body and makes the uric acid more soluble and easier to flush out of the kidneys. Mix one-half teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Drink up to four glasses of this daily for two weeks. You can drink it every two to four hours. Do not take this remedy on a regular basis. Also, do not take this remedy if you suffer from high blood pressure. People age 60 or older should not drink more than 3 glasses per day. 5. Olive Oil Most vegetable oils turn into rancid fats when heated or processed. The rancid fats destroy the vital vitamin E in the body, which is essential for controlling uric acid levels. Opt for cold-pressed olive oil rather than using vegetable oil or butter. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fats, vitamin E and antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory benefits. 6. Water Drinking plenty of water helps optimize uric acid filtering. It helps dilute the uric acid and stimulates the kidneys to eliminate excess amounts from the body through urine. Drinking adequate water regularly can reduce the risk of recurrent gout attacks. Drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water throughout the day. Also, include more fluids and fresh, water-rich fruits like watermelons, strawberries and tomatoes, and vegetables like cucumber, lettuce and celery in your diet. » Best Diet For Removing Calcium Deposits & Plaque Buildup From Your Blocked Arteries

05:24
How I quickly improved my dad’s blood flow and circulation in only 30 days - NO drugs or diets! ►► http://drsam.co/yt/CureBlockedArteriesNaturally =============================================== Best Diet For Removing Calcium Deposits & Plaque Buildup From Your Clogged Arteries =============================================== When attempting to remove calcium deposits from the their blocked arteries, most people mistakenly stop eating any food that contains calcium. This is wrong and counterproductive because calcium has many benefits and it’s a very important mineral, especially in your BONES… But NOT in your arteries and heart. In fact, calcium deposits and plaque buildup is a sign of early aging. So you really need to be proactive and reverse and remove calcium and plaque buildup For anti-aging purposes For improved blood flow and circulation To help reduce your risk of a heart attack or stroke. And the good news is that no matter how old you are or how “bad” things may seem in your arteries, you can DEFINITELY help reverse and remove calcium and plaque buildup… quickly and easily. And you can do it naturally, without drugs or crazy restrictive diets. I’ve done it over and over again with hundreds and thousands of my clients, including my father! Your “Diet” The types of foods you eat AND avoid is very important for removing plaque building and preventing calcium deposits in your arteries and veins. The right foods will direct calcium and important minerals directly into your bones, instead of your arteries. The best type of diet to follow is an anti-inflammatory and low insulin-stimulating/blood sugar diet. CARBOHYDRATES 50% of your diet should come from low-glycemic, anti-inflammatory carbohydrates. This is because high insulin levels due to high blood sugar from the WRONG forms of carbohydrates, causes plaque to build in the lining of your arteries. There’s nothing wrong with carbohydrates… You just want to eliminate or minimize sugars and simple carbs such as white bread, cereals, pasta and most carbs that come in a “box”. Instead, you want to eat more natural carbohydrates such as Yams/sweet potatoes Quinoa Buckwheat (contains NO wheat or gluten) Legumes/beans Some fruit Lots of vegetables PROTEINS Less than 25% should come from healthy proteins. Most people eat way too much protein, especially in America. It’s not natural to eat so much protein. Your body doesn’t require much protein and “high protein” diets actually CAUSE plaque and calcium buildup in your arteries. Best Healthy Proteins Wild caught fish (salmon is great) Grass fed bison/buffalo Free range eggs (including the yolks) Small amounts of free-range chicken FATS 25% from healthy fats Most people eat way too much of the WRONG fats and barely any healthy “good” fats. Stay away from hydrogenated oils and trans fats. Do NOT cook or heat your fats. Stay away from most vegetable oils, especially the junk at the local supermarket. These are the WORST types of fats because they cause plaque buildup. Best Healthy Fats: Organic, extra virgin coconut Organic avocado Extra virgin olive oil Raw nuts (almonds & walnuts are great) LIQUIDS Don’t drink your calories. Nothing with sugars. No sodas, even if they are “no calories” because they acidify your body and cause calcium deposits. You also need to eliminate dairy. Milk is for babies and cow milk is for BABY COWS! Drink lots of water (lemon for taste), some green tea and maybe 1-2 cups of organic coffee. Cure High Blood Pressure Stop Heart Attacks Strokes Natural : No Medication

03:17
Cure High Blood Pressure Stop Heart Attacks Natural : No Medication is a video put together to inform those that are looking for a natural non chemical no medication way to not only lower blood pressure in minutes, but if used continuously along with regular exercise, and healthy diet eliminate it altogether. Read on to learn other facts not put in the video. What is in the video is all about lowering blood pressure quickly. Please share this video with your friends and loved ones. 1) Raw almonds. Eating just a handful of truly raw almonds every day can make a significant difference in keeping your blood pressure levels in check. A key component of the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension Diet, also known as DASH, raw almonds are rich in monounsaturated fats, which have been scientifically proven to help lower blood cholesterol levels, reduce arterial inflammation, and ultimately lower blood pressure levels. Even though they are high in fat and calories, almonds also help promote weight loss and the building of lean muscle mass, which means they naturally promote healthy circulation. When eaten in conjunction with other blood pressure-lowering nuts like walnuts, almonds are one of the most powerful cardiovascular "superfoods" available. 2) Cayenne pepper. Arguably one of the fastest foods to lower blood pressure, cayenne pepper is a powerful vasodilator, which means it helps expand blood vessels and improve blood flow. This effect naturally lowers blood pressure levels by increasing the rate at which blood flows throughout the circulatory system, which in turn takes some of the pressure off arterial walls. Mixing one or two teaspoons of cayenne pepper in either warm water or tea with both honey and aloe vera is a powerful homemade remedy for alleviating hypertension. If this beverage is too spicy for your tastes, taking cayenne pepper capsule supplements is another great option for lowering blood pressure naturally. 3) Coconut water. Rich in potassium, electrolytes, and other important nutrients, coconut water has been shown to help significantly lower blood pressure levels in most of the people that drink it. A recent study published in the West Indian Medical Journal found that drinking coconut water helped 71 percent of participants achieve a significant reduction in systolic pressure, and 29 percent of participants achieve a significant reduction in diastolic pressure. The results were even more amplified when participants drank both coconut water and mauby, a tropical drink made from buckthorn tree bark. 4) Raw cacao. Rich in flavonoids and other anti-inflammatory nutrients, raw cacao is another food-based weapon against hypertension that you will want to keep readily stocked in your health arsenal. Not only do the flavonoids in cacao function as adaptogens to help the body better deal with stress, which is a common cause of hypertension, but they also help regulate stress hormone levels throughout the body, which play a critical role in blood pressure regulation. Numerous studies have also found that cacao flavonoids demonstrably reduce blood pressure levels upon consumption, resulting in an average blood pressure reduction of 4.7/2.8 millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Cacao flavonoids also help protect the body against stroke and heart disease, which are commonly linked to high blood pressure. 5) Turmeric. Modern science is just barely hitting the tip of the iceberg concerning the superfood capacity of turmeric, also commonly known as curcumin. But one of the herb's already known benefits concerns its abilities to significantly decrease inflammation throughout the body, which is a primary cause of high cholesterol and even high blood pressure. By actively reducing inflammation, turmeric helps improve cardiovascular function and maintain healthy blood flow. When taken alongside non-irradiated black pepper, the primary active ingredient of which is piperine, turmeric is a powerhouse at loosening up blood vessels and clearing the buildup that often leads to high blood pressure. Turmeric is also a natural blood thinner, which is another way this powerful herb aids in the fight against hypertension. 6) Garlic. A 2010 study out of Australia found that garlic is another powerful food-based medicine that naturally lowers cholesterol levels and reduces blood pressure. Taking garlic tablets or capsule supplements is a great way to regularly consume the herb in high enough amounts to derive significant benefits.

MDiTV News: The Treatment of High Cholesterol is Evolving

03:24
http://www.mditv.com -- A time may be coming when medication isn't the default treatment for high cholesterol. A study from the University of Michigan encourages physicians to look at several factors before prescribing statins, and suggests that knowing a person's overall heart attack risk is more important than just knowing their cholesterol level. "LDL cholesterol alone explains just nine percent of an individual's risk of cardiovascular events, and sufficient attention is not given to the remaining 91 percent," says Dr. Rodney Hayward, lead researcher of the study. The study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, worked with more than four thousand patients and calls this approach of looking at a patient's overall heart attack risk "tailored treatment". In this type of treatment, if high cholesterol was a young patient's only risk factor, changes in diet and exercise would be considered better options than medication. This is thought to improve a patient's quality of life because statins can have unpleasant side effects like muscle aches as well as affects on the liver.

Very High Triglycerides "Do Not Eat" List | HealthiNation

04:05
Learn about the primary foods to avoid on the "Do Not Eat List" when you have very high triglycerides. Related Videos: Very High Triglyceride Tip: Diet Swaps | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/8Bf5az1xL3c High Cholesterol Foods to Avoid (Part 1 of 2) | HealthiNation http://youtu.be/o5ejKLECuWs The most positive approach to improving your health, for example when striving for a healthy diet, is to concentrate on what you CAN DO. But sometimes we need to know what NOT to do or eat. And, when you have very high triglycerides...there are certain foods and ingredients that you should avoid. You may know some of them...like sugars and fats. But there are other subtleties regarding what foods to avoid and why they are on the "Do Not Eat List" when you have very high triglycerides. When we have very high triglycerides, we have too much fat in our blood. That fat comes from the foods we eat, and our bodies can also make it from the extra calories in our diet. So it is important to watch what we eat. The first ingredients on our "Do Not Eat" list are certain fats—they are called the "bad fats." Trans fats are one of the worst fats out there, so you should strive to avoid these completely. On labels, they may be hiding under the name "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" oil. Fried foods, shortenings, and commercially processed junk foods may contain trans fats. The good news is the food industry has cut way back on its use of trans fat. In fact, trans fats are banned in some places. Unfortunately, manufacturers often substitute saturated fat for trans fat. Saturated fat is also a "bad fat"—read labels and limit, for example, foods with tropical oils. These include coconut, palm and palm kernel oils. The American Heart Association recommends that no more than seven percent of your daily caloric intake should come from saturated fat. No problem...there's lots of "fat-free" foods in the grocery store, right? Yes, just be careful—these usually replace fat calories with sugar calories. Why should this matter? Sugar equals calories. And if those calories are not burned immediately for energy, they are converted into triglycerides in the body. So you need to watch your intake. Read labels and limit foods with simple sugars listed in the first few ingredients: sucrose, glucose, fructose, corn syrup, honey, molasses and maltose. You will also need to avoid sugary drinks like sodas, fruit juice and the sugar packets you may like in your coffee and tea. "Refined" or white breads and pastas are all simple carbohydrates—which is a fancy way of saying sugar. These grains have had many of their nutrients stripped away during the refining process. All of these foods are easily broken down into sugars, and then stored as fat. So, that means white breads, white rice, white pastas are also on the "Do Not Eat" list. Now that you have an idea of what not to eat, one last word on what not to drink. Alcohol. Whether it is wine, liquor, or beer, alcohol can contribute to very high triglyceride levels. Alcohol adds extra calories to the diet—which we have already learned can be converted to triglycerides. Alcohol actually packs a lot more calories per gram than carbohydrates (7 calories per gram versus 4 calories per gram). Also, people tend to make poor diet choices when drinking; meaning an already indulgent dinner can easily move right into dessert! If you have very high triglycerides, it is recommended that you avoid alcohol all together. But, as a general guideline, the American Heart Association recommends no more than one drink a day for women and two drinks a day for men. Managing very high triglycerides with diet can be done. But, it requires willpower and dedication. Most of all...reduce excess calories and keep your weight in check. For some people, however, dietary changes will not be enough. That is why it is important to work with your doctor and to find an overall treatment plan that works for you. Sources: Rosenson RS. Approach to the patient with hypertriglyceridemia. “I was able to get off of prescription acid reflux medicine and metformin for diabetes!” Schedule at http://MetabolicCoaching.NET. Local & Online Distance Metabolic Coaching Available. Join us for our monthly webinar or weekly local courses! I love Junette’s story. Here she is eagerly awaiting the birth of her grandchild when her doctor drops a bombshell on her, “You’ve got diabetes.” She was not too surprised because diabetes runs in her family. But she had seen her brother suffer with diabetes for years ultimately resulting in the loss of his kidneys. That was NOT the path Junette wanted to take. So rather than settling for “standard” medical advice, she decided to do the Metabolic Coaching program low carbohydrate diet. What kind of results did she get? Blood Sugar - within 2 weeks blood sugars went from 200 to 100 Diabetes - within 3 months her hemoglobin A1c decreased from 9.1 to 5.6 (normal) Acid Reflux (for years) - she was able to stop her prescription medication Weight - she was able to decrease 2 pants sizes (after struggling for years) Stomach Bloating - gone Exhaustion - “My energy levels has been great.” And… “I feel so much more healthy than I have for years! And this is why I love her story so much. It was her motivation. She didn’t start a low carbohydrate diet just to “get healthy,” but so she could have energy to play with her grandchildren! She says, “I just continue to see changes in my body that are for the good. And with an 11 year old granddaughter that I love to go do stuff with, and a brand new grand baby that’s three weeks old now, I just have a lot to look forward to. And I want to have the energy and the health to be able to do that with them.” Junette is like many of us. As the years go by she began feeling more and more exhausted, tired, with no energy. Was it just age? That’s when she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with a fasting blood glucose of 200. She started standard diabetes medication and the American Diabetes Association diet. Then a week later her step-daughter told her about the Metabolic Coaching low carbohydrate program. She then says, “And lo and behold, within about 2 weeks I saw my numbers going from 200 down to 100, and just continually getting better throughout the day, until they were perfectly normal.” How did here doctor respond? “She was shocked! She didn’t really understand how my diet was working for me. But she said, ‘I guess keep doing what you’re doing, because obviously it’s working.’ ” Junette is like many of us, she is what I call “carbohydrate sensitive.” For her, a diet high in carbohydrates will cause insulin resistance, elevated blood sugars, weight gain, and diabetes. She says it this way, “I know this is just what my body needed… That I cannot handle the sugar. I cannot handle the carbohydrates. And for me its going to be a lifestyle, and a healthy lifestyle. I feel like now I’m going to be even healthier than I was before, even with the diabetes. I just feel like that’s almost a non-issue now. Now its just that this is what my body needs to be healthy.” And there have been positive results for her husband as well. They started the low carbohydrate diet at the same time. And Junette says, “He definitely can tell a lot of changes in his energy level too… I had noticed that he kept saying ‘I’m tired. I don’t feel like going somewhere. I think I’ll just stay home.’ And now, all of the sudden, he’s like ‘Let’s go! Let’s go do whatever!’ When somebody calls and asks us to do, or to go out with friends, he’s got the energy to do that. So he can tell a big difference. And I can tell a big difference in his energy levels” on the low carbohydrate diet. Who does Junette think should take the Metabolic Coaching program? Anyone that has issue with blood sugar, high blood pressure, just taking too many prescription medications, stomach problems, pain, and inflammation. She says, “Gosh, there are just so many different illnesses that I think could be… either kept under control or eliminated with the Metabolic Coaching.” You can learn the Metabolic Coaching diet Junette used to improve her blood sugar, diabetes, acid reflux, stomach bloating and exhaustion by watching the videos 1-7 at: http://metaboliccoaching.net/free-content/. Niacin: * Increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL) by 20-35%. No other available over-the-counter treatments, and very few drugs, are as effective. * Decreases small low-density lipoprotein (small LDL) particles. Small LDL is an important yet underappreciated cause of heart disease. Niacin is the most effective agent known for correcting this abnormal pattern. * Decreases triglycerides by 30%. Niacin is especially effective when taken with fish oil (at doses of 4000 mg a day, providing 1200 mg of EPA/DHA). * Decreases very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) particles. * Decreases lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a). No other treatment approaches the power of niacin to reduce the genetically determined pattern of high Lp(a), which is among the most serious risk factors for heart disease. * Decreases low-density lipoprotein (LDL), usually by 20-40 mg/dL, or 5-25%. Niacin blocks the release of fatty acids from fat cells. Fewer fatty acids are passed through to the liver, resulting in fewer VLDL particles. Less VLDL leads to less small LDL and higher HDL. Niacin also improves endothelial function and nitric oxide synthase activity. Niacin’s benefits are not limited to its influence on blood markers of cardiovascular disease risk. It also reduces heart attack risk dramatically. The Coronary Drug Project was the first to establish that niacin is a powerful agent in lowering heart attack risk. When more than 1,000 heart attack survivors were given 3000 mg of (immediate-release/crystalline) niacin daily for six years, the incidence of recurrent non-fatal heart attacks was reduced by 27%, and the number of strokes was reduced by 26%.2 In the well-known HDL-Atherosclerosis Treatment Study (HATS), 160 participants were given niacin and simvastatin (Zocor®) or a placebo. Compared to the placebo group, the group receiving niacin and simvastatin experienced a 90% reduction in death and myocardial infarction over three years.3 In other words, coronary events were nearly eliminated. Although the study sample was small, its results are striking. By comparison, statin drugs alone typically reduce heart attack risk by 25-35%. The 90% reduction achieved in the HATS trial thus is truly remarkable. Despite niacin’s track record, many physicians have never learned how to use it effectively. Statin drugs have caused many physicians to forget how effective niacin can be. This is a shame, because niacin can be a powerful agent in combating heart disease, when used alone or in combination with other supplements.
