DVA skin cancer management  There are many types of skin cancers including BCCs or basal cell cancers, SCC or squamous cell cancers as well as melanomas. Todays review is on Bowen disease or Intraepidermal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. This is a common non-invasive cancer of the skin affecting the epidermal layers of skin. IECs most frequently occur on sun-exposed areas and present as red, scaly and persistent patches. IECs may arise de-novo, or from lesions of solar keratosis. If left untreated, Bowen disease may progress to an invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma. This is one of the most common skin cancers I see in DVA or Department of Defence patients in Australia, and is due to the high UV radiation we have in cities like Brisbane.  Clinical Features Bowen disease most frequently presents as a persistent red scaly patch that slow grows over time. The most commonly affect areas include the legs, arms, and face- areas of sun exposure. Bowen disease or IECs can also affect the lips, oral mucosa, or even genital areas. As Bowen Disease is asymptomatic there is often a delay in the diagnosis, as it may mimic conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, tinea, and sun-spots.  Associations Most cases of Bowen disease arise from sun-damaged skin, including areas of actinic keratosis. The most common associations include- UV radiation. This plays a major contributing factor in the development of IECs. Immunosuppression. Patients on certain immunosuppressive medications are more likely to develop IECs.  Arsenic exposure. This was a common cause of Bowen Disease in the past, as arsenic was frequently used in medicines during the 60s and 70s including Bells Asthma Mixture, sheep dip, and as pesticides. Arsenic induced IECs-Bowen disease is a rare event today, as occupational safety has increased. A time lag of 10-20 years is seen between exposure and cancer.  Human Papilloma virus infections. Other associations include genetic diseases, radiotherapy and skin lesions such as porokeratosis, and solar keratosis. Investigations Bowen’s Disease can be suspected clinically, however in the majority of cases, a biopsy should be performed to confirm the diagnosis.  Treatment  There are multiple ways to manage Bowens/IECs. Treatment modalities will depend on the location and size of the cancer, the number of lesions, the degree of functional impairment.  Each modality has both advantages and disadvantages.  Cryotherapy or liquid nitrogen  Liquid nitrogen can be an excellent method of treating IECs. Most cases will require a double –freeze cycle of cryotherapy. This treatment is not recommended for IECs below the knee, as poor healing may occur.  Creams  Imiquimod, or 5-fluorouracil are effective in the treatment of Bowen disease. Clinical studies have shown cure rates approaching 80-90%. Treatment appears to be most successful when these creams are applied for 6-16 weeks.   Curettage and Electrocautery When small patches of IECs are present they may be treated via curettage and cautery. A local anaesthetic is given prior to the procedure to prevent pain and discomfort.  Photodynamic therapy  Photodynamic therapy or PDT can be an excellent non-surgical method of treating skin cancers such as Bowen’s/ IEC’s. PDT uses  a photosensitive cream called 5-aminolevulinic acid or methyl aminolevulinate, that is applied to the skin cancer. The cancerous cells of Bowens/ IEC take up this chemical over a period of 3 hours. A low-level laser light then activates the chemical, and destroys the skin cancer cells. Patients will require two treatments spaced a week or two apart. DVA or the Department of Veteran Affairs in Brisbane, covers PDT for both sunspots on the face and also IECs on all areas. PDT can also be used for multiple or large IECs. The benefit of PDT is that it selectively targets neoplastic cells without affecting the surrounding epidermis. This results in improved cosmetic outcomes, and faster healing times.  Surgery  Surgery is the ideal method of treating IECs in certain areas including recurrent IEC or ones that dwell in hair follicles. Surgery has the highest cure rate for Bowens/ IECs. For the majority of patients, especially DVA patients in Australia, non surgical methods, including the use of photodynamic therapy, is the future. Dr Davin Lim, Dermatologist. Actinic keratosis, also called "solar keratosis" and "senile keratosis", is a pre-cancerous patch of thick, scaly, or crusty skin. These growths are more common in fair-skinned people, and those who are frequently in the sun. Actinic keratosis is considered to be potentially pre-cancerous. If it is left untreated, it may turn into a type of cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. Basal cell carcinoma, also known as bazalioma, or basal cell cancer, is the most common skin cancer, and one of the most common cancers in the United States. While Basal cell carcinoma has a very low metastatic risk, this tumor can cause significant disfigurement by invading surrounding tissues. Squamous cell carcinoma of the skin is a common form of skin cancer that develops in the squamous cells, that make up the middle and outer layer of the skin. Squamous cell carcinoma of the skin is usually not life-threatening, though it can be aggressive in some cases. Untreated, squamous cell carcinoma of the skin can grow large, or spread to other parts of your body, causing serious complications. Melanoma, also known as malignant melanoma, is a type of cancer that develops from the pigment-containing cells. Melanomas typically occur in the skin, but may rarely occur in the mouth, intestines, or eye. Sometimes they develop from moles with concerning changes, including an increase in size, irregular edges, change in color, itchiness, or skin breakdown. Although symptoms may vary, new or unusual growths, or changes in already existing moles, can be signs of skin cancer. Dry Spot of Skin Leads to Skin Cancer Diagnosis and Nose Reconstruction | Kaiser Permanente

02:06
What started off as a dry spot of skin on Dan Gillespie’s nose turned out to be something far more serious – basal cell carcinoma. “It would go away for a little bit and then come back,” he said. When it appeared to be growing larger, Dan knew he needed to get it checked. The results of the biopsy revealed that Dan’s diagnosis was basal cell carcinoma, a very slow growing cancer. “However, the quicker we treat it, the better the treatment will ultimately be,” said Michelle Draznin, MD, Dan’s dermatologist. “I never felt, when I was going and talking to the nursing staff or doctors, that it was something that couldn’t be handled and taken care of,” said Dan. Due to its growth, the tumor encompassed about half of his nose. His care team successfully reconstructed his nose after removing the tumor. “Everybody that I’ve come into contact with at Kaiser Permanente has been very nice, very knowledgeable. They’re really good about getting you plugged in with the right care,” said Dan. “And they take care of business.”

Watch more How to Prevent Skin Cancer videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/507157-How-to-Spot-Skin-Cancer-Skin-Cancer Trying to spot a skin cancer on your body can be difficult, because it depends on the type of cell that formed the skin cancer in the first place. If it were a melanocyte which is the pigment making cell, you should be looking for dark spots, multiples spots, spots that seem to be growing in one direction whereas if it's a keratinocyte forming the skin cancer, you should look at sun exposed area. Examine your eyelids, examine your nose, your ears. If you see a bump that doesn't look like anything else, if it's red, if there are blood vessel growing on the bump, if it feels really rough and scaly, it could be a concern for skin cancer. It's important to know though, precancerous lesions may look very similar to skin cancer, and in most cases, a cancer is preceded by a long period of time of a spot that is actually precancerous and easily treated. The best way to find out whether you have a precancerous lesion or a cancerous lesion is to see a dermatologist. A dermatologist can perform a very simple skin biopsy to be analyzed under the microscope, that can tell you definitively, whether it's precancerous or cancerous.

20 early warning signs that cancer is growing in your body

04:14
20 early warning signs that cancer is growing in your body 1. Wheezing/shortness of breath Lung cancer patients remember noticing this as one of their first symptoms but didn't initially connect it to cancer. 2. Frequent fevers or infections Frequently a sign of leukemia, a cancer of the blood cells that starts in bone marrow. It causes the marrow to produce abnormal white blood cells that hinder your body's infection-fighting abilities. 3. Difficulty swallowing Most commonly associated with throat cancer, but can be a good indicator of lung cancer too. 4. Weakness and fatigue Such a common symptom of cancer that it should be looked at in combination with other symptoms to determine which it is. 5. Feeling full and unable to eat This is a sign of ovarian cancer. A loss of appetite even when you haven't eaten for a while is a tip-off. 6. Anorexia Could be an early sign of pancreatic cancer. A sudden disgust for coffee, wine or smoking can be linked to this as well. 7. Rectal bleeding or blood in stool Common sign of colorectal cancer. Blood in the toilet should be a big enough sign to see a doctor immediately. 8. Lumps in the neck, underarm or groin area Swollen lymph nodes indicate changes in the lymphatic system which can lead to cancer. 9. Excessive bruising or bleeding that doesn't stop Suggests abnormalities with the platelets and red blood cells, which can be a sign of leukemia. Leukemia cells crowd out red blood cells impairing your blood's ability to carry oxygen leading to clots. 10. Bloating or abdominal weight gain Ovarian cancer patients reported unexplained bloating that came on suddenly and continued for a significant amount of time. 11. Unexplained weight loss An early sign of colon and other digestive cancers. Also a sign of cancer that has spread to the liver, affecting your appetite and the body's ability to get rid of waste. 12. A red, sore, or swollen breast Indicates inflammatory breast cancer, unexplained changes should be told to a doctor immediately. A nipple that appears flattened, inverted or turned sideways had also been noticed by patients diagnosed with breast cancer. 13. Swelling of facial features Lung cancer patients have reported noticing puffiness, swelling or redness of the face. Small cell lung tumors commonly block blood vessels in the chest preventing blood from flowing freely to the head. 14. Sore/lump on the skin that bleeds, becomes crusty or doesn't heal Different types of skin cancer (melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma) can cause these, so be aware of any odd-looking growths or spots. 15. Changes in nails A brown/black dot under the nail can indicate skin cancer. Pale or white nails can be a sign of liver cancer. "Clubbing", which is the enlargement of the fingers with nails that curve down over the tips, can be a sign of lung cancer. 16. Unusually heavy or painful periods, bleeding between periods A common sign of endometrial or uterine cancer. A transvaginal ultrasound should be considered if the problem persists. 17. Chronic cough or chest pain Leukemia and lung tumors (among others), show symptoms that can mimic a bad cough or bronchitis. Some patients also reported a chest pain that extended to the shoulder and down their arm. 18. Pelvic/Abdominal pain Pain and cramping in the pelvis can be linked with the bloating signs of ovarian cancer. Leukemia also does this because it enlarges the spleen. 19. Pain in back or lower right side Often an early sign of liver cancer. Breast cancer can also be found through this as a breast tumor can press backward into the chest or spread to the spine/ribs. 20. Upset stomach Stomach cramps or a frequently upset stomach can be a sign of colorectal cancer. Subscribe ► https://goo.gl/1dVtUS Thank you for watching. Have These Tiny Red Pimples on You Body They Might Be Signs of This Serious Condition!

02:18
Have These Tiny Red Pimples on You Body They Might Be Signs of This Serious Condition! Have These Tiny Red Pimples on You Body? They Might Be Signs of This Serious Condition! Been noticing red little pimples spreading across your body? Many of us wouldn't bother to address this concern at all. But did you know that having them actually warns you that there might be something wrong inside your body? In most cases, the red bumps are a form of intolerance to gluten. Gluten is a general term for proteins found in wheat and other grains. When you cannot digest such proteins, the intestines get inflamed; a reaction which shows up on the skin. Eczema and psoriasis have been connected to gluten as well. The immune system and antibodies fight off this reaction which, in turn, causes itching and dryness of the skin. While some develop these red pimples, some get chronic fatigue or stomach problems. If you have these red pimple, immediately consult your doctor if this a symptom of eszema or psoriasis! Although less common, other serious conditions can also sometimes appear as red rashes, spots, patches or bumps on the skin: · Rubella · Impetigo · Intertrigo (body fold skin rash) · Bleeding disorders · Lupus · Kawasaki’s Disease · Ramsay Hunt Syndrome · Chickenpox · Genital herpes · Genital warts · MRSA (staph) infection · Scabies · Scarlet fever · Syphilis Skin cancer, from melanoma to basal cell carcinoma, may also appear as red spots, scaly plaques or moles on the skin. That’s why it’s important to know when to see a doctor. See the list below for some general guidelines and be sure to always consult a doctor if you are suspicious or unsure about any bump or spot on your body. It’s time to see a doctor with red spots on skin if: · a bump or spot won’t go away over time · you notice that the bump or spot is changing or getting worse · you are clueless as to what could be causing the bumps or spots · you have any suspicions at all of an infection or cancer If you like our video, please give us thumbs up and share this video with your family and friends. Pain or discomfort in your mouth that doesn't go away is the other most common symptom of mouth cancer. Ulcers that do not heal. A broken area of skin (ulcer) that will not heal can be a symptom of mouth cancer. About 80 out of 100 people (80%) with mouth cancer have this symptom. White or red patches in the mouth or throat. An abnormal looking patch could be a sign of cancer or precancerous changes: White patches are called leukoplakia. Red patches are called erythroplakia. These patches are not cancer, but if left untreated they may lead to cancer. Weight loss. It is a common symptom of many different types of cancer. Mouth and oropharyngeal cancer can make it painful to eat and diffcult to swallow. This might cause weight loss. Difficulty swallowing. Mouth cancer can cause pain or a burning sensation when chewing and swallowing food. Or you might feel like your food is sticking in your throat. Difficulty swallowing can also be caused by a harmless narrowing of the foodpipe (oesophagus). Speech problems. Cancer in your mouth or throat can affect your voice. Your voice might sound different. It may be quieter, husky, or sound as if you have a cold all the time. Or you might slur some of your words, or have trouble with pronouncing some sounds. A lump in your neck. You may have a lump in your neck caused by an enlarged lymph node. Swelling in one or more lymph nodes in the neck is a common symptom of mouth and orpharyngeal cancer. A hot red painful lump usually means an infection, rather than a cancer. Lumps that come and go are not usually due to cancer. Cancer usually forms a lump that slowly gets bigger. Bad breath. Most people have bad breath at some point in their life and it is not cancer. But if you have cancer, bad breath might be worse and happen more often.

DermTV - The Easiest Way to Identify a Precancerous Mole [DermTV.com Epi #361]

02:34
During Skin Cancer Awareness month, we at DermTV try to share a lot of tips and tricks for detecting precancerous growths. Even though it's no longer skin cancer awareness month, here's another great tip for at home detection. http://DermTV.com Connect with DermTV: http://www.facebook.com/dermtv http://www.twitter.com/dermtv [TRANSCRIPT] DermTV, The Skin Cancer Foundation, the American Academy of Dermatology, The American Cancer Society, and many other leading authorities all stress the importance of self examinations as an aid to the early detection of cancer since the earlier you find it, the more apt it is to be completely curable. So this episode is going to be about a trick for doing better self skin cancer exams. Generally speaking, in most medical issues, symmetry is a reliable indicator that something isn't dangerous. So, in doing a self skin exam, if you find a mole or growth that is symmetric, then it is probably normal and not cancerous or precancerous. And just to remind you, a growth is symmetrical if you can fold it down the middle and the two halves are identical. Just like when I fold this circle in half. Yet in all of medicine there is only one situation that I know of where symmetry actually is a bad sign and usually indicates that something is abnormal and in fact at very least, precancerous. That situation occurs when two moles occur symmetrically to each other on your body. So imagine a line drawn down the center of your body, which of course goes right through your belly button. If you have two moles on your stomach, both about equal distance to the left and right of your bellybutton, then there is a very high probability that both of those moles are precancerous and each have a 20 to 25% life time probability of becoming melanomas. They should be shown to a dermatologist and probably be removed. The bottom line is that moles which are symmetric to each other with respect to the midline of your body are usually very dangerous, precancerous moles which if not removed have an unacceptably high probability of becoming deadly melanomas, a cancer that sadly claims the life of one American every hour. This is a truly rare medical example of symmetry being very dangerous, so if you come across it, show it to your doctor. [ABOUT DERMTV] Everyone can have beautiful, healthy, and younger looking skin, and DermTV, the Internet's daily skincare video show, will demonstrate how by revealing expert tips and techniques and by providing real solutions for real skincare issues. If You Have a Lump on Your Neck, Check It ASAP!

08:58
Lumps on the neck or behind ears are a rather common issue. In some cases, they are caused by acne are not really dangerous. It could also be a lipoma. It sounds scary, I know, but this is just a harmless cluster of fat cells that have gathered under the skin. But there are cases when neck and ear lumps may signal more dangerous or even life-threatening health issues. If days go by and this lump doesn't change one bit, you could be dealing with a serious problem that needs treatment ASAP. Here at Bright Side, we’ve studied the most common reasons for neck and ear lumps to appear, and here are the things you need to check first if you notice these lumps. TIMESTAMPS: Have your lump checked for cancerous cells 1:14 Have your lymphatic system checked 2:33 Get checked for an infection 3:29 Check if your lump is caused by sebaceous cysts 4:10 How you can tell if your lump is bad news 6:04 Natural remedies that can help you reduce lumps 7:05 Proper diet 7:53 #lumps #lipoma #lymphaticsystem Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - According to the American Cancer Society, a lump or mass on the neck may be caused by nasopharyngeal cancer, or NPC for short, that has spread to the lymph nodes in your neck. - A lump behind your ear can also be bad news given that these formations often accompany certain types of cancer, like skin cancer, for example. - When the lymphatic system breaks down, our lymph nodes become enlarged and tender. In most cases, these swollen glands indicate simple infection, but they can be a sign of a dangerous condition. - Some viral and bacterial infections can provoke mastoiditis, which is an inflammation of the mastoid bone that's located behind the ear. - One of the most trivial yet very common causes of ear and neck lumps is sebaceous cysts. They basically form in damaged or blocked sebaceous glands. - Even though lipomas are usually nothing to worry about, they can get pretty big and turn into liposarcoma, which is a cancer of the connective tissues. - Harmless lumps caused by minor infection are easy to spot. They usually get really red and swollen right off the bat. If your lump doesn't look infected, is the same color as your skin, but keeps getting bigger after a week, it's time to pay a visit to your doctor. - Junk food only puts more toxins in your system, when what you need to do is cleanse your body to remove the fatty tissue inflammation that caused your lipoma in the first place. And the most common change is something growing on your skin. This growth can appear on the skin in many ways. The following explains the signs (what you see) and symptoms (what you feel) of the most common types of skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) This is the most common type of skin cancer. It most often appears on skin that gets lot of sun, such as the face, scalp, neck, hands, and arms. You will find BCCs on other parts of the body, too. It can appear on parts of the body that did not get lots of sun, such as the genitals. BCC often grows slowly. It may look like a: Reddish patch of dry skin that won’t heal Flesh-colored (or pink, red, or brown) pearl-shaped lump Pimple that just won’t clear Sore that bleeds, heals, and then returns Scar that feels waxy — may be skin-colored, white, or yellow Group of slow-growing, shiny pink or red growths — look like sores, often scaly and bleed easily Flat or sunken growth — feels hard, may be white or yellow Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) This is a very common type of skin cancer. It often appears on skin that got lots of sun, such as an ear, face, bald scalp, neck, or arm. But it can appear elsewhere — even inside the mouth, on the lip, or on the genitals. Too much sun is often the cause, but it is not the only cause. SCC can appear on skin that was badly burned, had lots of radiation (such as x-rays), or was exposed to strong chemicals. SCC often has a reddish color. Without treatment, it can grow deeply. If this happens, the cancer can spread to other parts of the body. This can be deadly. SCC often looks like a: Hard (scaly or crusty) reddish bump, patch, or pearl-shaped growth Open sore that itches and bleeds; it can heal and return Scaly patch on the lip; skin on the lip can get thick Melanoma Know where you have moles on your skin! Melanoma often appears in an existing mole or looks like a new mole. By knowing where you have moles on your skin, you can find melanoma when it first appears. When treated early, melanoma is often curable. Here’s what to looks for: A mole on the skin that is growing, changing shape, or changing color A mole that looks scaly, oozes, or bleeds New dark spot on the skin that looks like a mole, but grows quickly Pain, itch, or bleeding in a new spot on the skin Streak (usually brown or black) underneath a fingernail or toenail Bruise on the foot that does not heal Vastu & Astrology : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbhc-xEKXBrPHPevA2ibJxQ Dharm अाैर Science : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_7ylmMqDS92eLK6NY76Y6w Difference & Similarities : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTIp54Q_dyw1o2etqsoeXiw What If ….कया हो अगर : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnsIAaPFcrUdOAtAJ3fokEA Parenting & Lifestyle : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChx9OYduRzQsdvyQBRIAq8A Shrimad Home Remedies : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3oHEjYN8K8eSH2LDq--5eQ Ghar Ka Khana : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTnETM8SXLVChvnf6wAfyxg Teej Tyohar - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/58f59d88bae5476db984a49f3e5b5a8a?uc Guru Ka Gyan - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/d4fd204f35014a458bb80deacbb4a925?uc Shreemad Home Remidies - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/1ad6051206a446739f7e4fbf6f72035c?uc Ghar Ka Khana - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/93f4321fdb504bec8e7ed24ae784b728?uc Teej Tyohar - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/58f59d88bae5476db984a49f3e5b5a8a?uc Guru Ka Gyan - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/d4fd204f35014a458bb80deacbb4a925?uc Shreemad Home Remidies - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/1ad6051206a446739f7e4fbf6f72035c?uc Ghar Ka Khana - https://c.mp.ucweb.com/personal/index/93f4321fdb504bec8e7ed24ae784b728?uc All gherelu nushke are there, any medicine should to taken according to doctor prescription. What Does Skin Cancer Feel Like [DermTV.com Epi #499]

02:32
Recently, a viewer noted that one of their moles itched, and was wondering if that indicated that the mole was either cancerous or precancerous. In this episode of DermTV, Dr. Schultz discusses what skin cancer feels like. Subscribe to DermTV: http://www.youtube.com/dermtvdotcom http://DermTV.com Connect with DermTV: http://www.facebook.com/dermtv http://www.twitter.com/dermtv [TRANSCRIPT] What's the difference between the way normal moles and growths feel, and the way precancerous or even cancerous ones feel? Recently, a viewer wrote in, "I have a mole that's uniform in color and shape but it itches. Can a non cancerous mole itch? Or does that mean it's surely cancerous?" Well. What do you think? Does the way a mole or growth feels really help you determines if it's normal or abnormal? The answer is usually not. The way your moles or growths feel offers very little reliable info about whether it's normal or not because both normal moles and growths, and precancerous and cancerous ones usually don't have any symptoms you can feel. They don't itch, burn, hurt or bother you. They don't feel like anything! But occasionally, regardless of whether they're normal or abnormal, if they become injured or inflamed, then they can itch, hurt or burn. Actually, the symptoms of itching, hurting or burning are usually typical of inflammation in general. That can occur if it gets scratched, rubbed, hit or just bumped into. When that happens, it may temporarily, rapidly swell, get red or even become warm, somewhat like a twisted ankle, but again, has nothing to do with normalcy. Because your body repairs the inflammation or injury that causes these symptoms, they are usually temporary, lasting only a few days or weeks. If they persist longer, then it's time to get it checked out, just to be sure. These harmless temporary symptoms of inflammation should never be confused with the actual dangerous warning signs of abnormal growths. Those include bleeding, crusting, gradual increase in size, change in shape or changes in non-red colors like brown or black. Each of these alone or together are always warning signs of abnormal growth and should be checked out immediately! [ABOUT DERMTV] Everyone can have beautiful, healthy, and younger looking skin, and DermTV, the Internet's daily skincare video show, will demonstrate how by revealing expert tips and techniques and by providing real solutions for real skincare issues. 14 early warning signs of cancer is growing in your body

#cancer #symptoms #signs cancer signs 14 early warning signs of cancer is growing in your body Here are signs that are commonly ignored: 1. Wheezing or shallow breathing If you ask lung cancer patients what the first thing they noticed was, the majority would say it was their difficulty with breathing, or trouble catching their breath. 2. Chronic coughing or pain in the chest area Chest pain, incessant coughing, and even pain that reaches down the arms are symptoms of leukemia and lung tumors. 3. Frequently having fevers or infections White blood cells help our body to fight off infections and foreign invaders. Leukemia is a type of blood cell cancer that begins in bone marrow and causes the body to produce abnormal white blood cells, which reduces the effectiveness of its ability to fight infections. 4. Trouble with swallowing If you have difficulty swallowing, you may want to get checked for preliminary esophageal or throat cancer. It is also associated with lung cancer as well. 5. Lymph nodes that are swollen or lumps on the skin of your neck, underarm, or groin Any drastic changes in your lymphatic system should be carefully observed. These changes could be warning signs of lymphatic cancer. 6. Over-bruising and excessive bleeding When platelets and red blood cells act abnormally, there becomes excessive bruising and bleeding. This symptom can be a sign of leukemia. 7. Constant fatigue Feeling weakness in your body, and constant fatigue are symptoms of several different kinds of cancer. You’ll need to examine these symptoms in conjunction with other ones as well. As a general rule, if you ever feel exhasuted to where you can barely move without any physical reason, see your doctor. 8. Bloating in the abdomen or localized weight gain Women with ovarian cancer reported having “inexplicable abdominal bloating.” They said this bloating and weight gain happened suddenly, and appeared, disappeared, and reappeared for a long time. 9. Loss of appetite and feeling full This symptom is a warning sign for ovarian cancer as well. A vast majority of women said they “just couldn’t eat,” even if it had been a while since their last meal. 10. Pain the pelvis or abdominal area Leukemia and ovarian cancer can cause abdominal and pelvic pain. 11. Bleeding from the rectum or blood in stool This is a symptom commonly found in those diagnosed with colon cancer. If you ever notice blood in your stool, it is advisable to schedule a visit to your physician. 12. Rapid and unexplained weight loss Rapidly losing weight is a warning sign of digestive and colon cancers. It is also a sign that cancer has infected the liver. It you lose your appetite and stop producing a normal amount of waste, see your doctor.. 13. Digestive pain or stomachache having stomach cramps or frequent upset stomach pain may indicate colon or stomach cancer. 14. A red, sore, or swollen breast These are signs of breast cancer and should be examined by a physician. 15. Changes to the nipple If the nipple starts to look flattened, inverted, or turned sideways, see your doctor about possible breast cancer. Women diagnosed with breast cancer say the first thing they noticed was the changes to their nipples. 16. Abnormally heavy or painful periods/Bleeding in between cycles Several women say this is the number one symptom of endometrial or uterine cancer. Request a transvaginal ultrasound if your menstrual cycle has any significant changes. 17. Puffiness in the face Lung cancer patients report noticing “puffiness, swelling, or redness” in the face. This happens because lung tumors tend to block blood vessels, which stops oxygenated blood from flowing to your neck and face. 18. A sore that doesn’t heal Get to know the various kinds of skin cancer. Melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma are three common types. Check your skin for odd growths or spots. 19. Changes in fingernails Liver cancer, skin cancer, and lung cancer all show warning signs through the finger nails. Black spots, or lines, whitening and thickening around the edges, and “clubbing” are all signs you should pay attention to. ====================================================== DISCLAIMER ON COMMENTS & ADVICE GIVEN: Please note that the below information is designed to provide general information on the topics presented. How to Spot Early pink skin cancer| skin cancer bumps on face

03:05
How to Spot Early pink skin cancer| skin cancer bumps on face Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer, because the skin is the largest organ and it is in direct contact with the environment every day.[1] Early diagnosis is key when dealing with skin cancer. Working to prevent skin cancer is the best early defense against skin cancer. You can examine your own skin every month as well as ask your dermatologist if you find something you are unsure of. These methods will help you spot the early signs of skin cancer. 1 Examine your body. The best way to find skin cancer early is to keep a check on any skin abnormalities through a monthly full body skin exam. Stand in front of a full length mirror. Examine the whole front of your body, checking each part of your body. Turn around and look over your shoulder, examining the back area of your body, paying special attention to the back of your legs. Next, raise your arms and examine your underarms, inner arm area, elbow, forearms, upper underarms, and palms. Make sure you also look at the tops and bottoms of your feet. Using a hand mirror, check your buttocks, genitals, neck, and scalp. If there are areas you can’t reach, ask a loved one to help. 2 Track your changes on a mole map. As you examine your body, track your moles on a mole map. This map needs to be a representation of your body, with a front and a back, so you can keep track of where all your moles are. Each month, pinpoint where your moles are and write down the general appearance of them. The American Academy of Dermatology has a premade map that you can download every month as you do your examination 3 Look for problem moles. While making your examination, you need to watch for problem moles. You should notice is your moles change shape, size, or color, start to ooze or bleed, and feel itchy, swollen, or tender. To keep track of problem moles, you need to follow the ABCDE rule. The rules to notice melanomas are: A: Asymmetry, when moles have different halves and one side looks different than the other B: Borders, which tend to be ragged, irregular, or scalloped C: Color, which can be different shades of brown, tan, red, or black, with rare ones turning white D: Diameter, which tend to be larger than 6 mm E: Evolving, which means they change size, shape, and color over time Repeat the exam once a month. In order to note the progress of your moles, you need to make sure you perform this examine once a month. This will ensure that you know how your moles are doing and you will be able to catch any changes as early as possible. Create a new map every month so you can notice any changes. http://bit.ly/PsoriasisYout What is Psoriasis | Symptoms | Treatments | Causes | Pictures | Types Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder that is marked by patches of intensely itchy and flaky skin that doesn't go away with regular moisturizers the way most ordinary dry skin will. It can affect any part of the body, even the scalp and nails, and can be mild, moderate or severe. Health Mayo clinic what is psoriasis | symptoms | treatments | causes | pictures | types The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is a non-profit organization with a mission to drive efforts to cure psoriatic disease and improve the lives of those affected.Psoriasis - Mayo Clinic Basic Symptoms Skin itchiness and general discomfort are the two things people most commonly associate with the disease, and it often starts out as no more than brief rashes over certain parts of the body that look like little more than dry skin. As the pictures worsens, though, those dry patches tend to get increasingly red and to grow; ultimately, the surface of the skin will dry out and form rough scales that often have a blistered look. Main Types There are usually five recognized types of the disorder, each with its own intensity and symptom specifications. Plaque psoriasis causes red, silvery-white, scaly skin lesions, and this is the most common variety. The pictures can also come in pustular form, which causes blisters to erupt on the skin that can leak pus or other fluids. This variation is most common on the hands and feet. Triggers and Causes The pictures is caused by genes, and is usually recognized by those in the medical profession as an inherited genetic disorder. Not everyone who carries the genes for the disorder will necessarily suffer from it, Climate and weather, cold and dry temperatures in particular, can trigger the disease in many people. Physical trauma can also be to blame. Psoriatic lesions often develop at the site of a skin injury, usually right where things are healing and the skin is trying to regenerate itself. Most practitioners also think that stress and emotional health play a role in symptom suppression and flare-ups. People who are under a great deal of stress often see the pictures appear for the first time, or worsen if it is already present. Treatment Options There isn't usually any way to completely cure the pictures, insofar as it is not medically possible to re-code peoples' genetic predispositions. Certain medications and treatment regimens can help keep flare-ups suppressed, though, and can dramatically alter patients' quality of and enjoyment of life. Skincare experts usually start by looking for ways to reduce triggers. Medicated creams and ointments are commonly prescribed, and in some cases UV light therapy, also known as "phototherapy," can be useful, particularly for people who live in relatively dark and cold climates or who spend most of their days indoors away from natural sunlight. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about what liver spots are. Liver spots are not really caused by your liver, but it is caused by vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C protects skin from the sun. You want to consume vegetables that have high vitamin C not just used cream and serum on you skin. Most Vitamin C are synthetic and I do not recommend it. Eat vegetables with high concentrated vitamin C such as collard green, cabbage, bell pepper, chili pepper...etc. DR. Treating an Aggressive Skin Cancer

01:55
It was a call Peter Jepson never expected to get. “I was very depressed because I knew how serious this was. That news changed my life forever,” he said. Just a few weeks after noticing a spot on his face, Peter went to see his dermatologist. “I had a little red spot right here. I thought it was a cyst,” he said. But test results confirmed—Peter had Merkel cell carcinoma. “Merkel cell carcinoma is a rare skin cancer that behaves unusually aggressively. It’s one of the few skin cancers, in addition to melanoma, that can travel from where it starts. It can travel to distant places in the body, and it can, unfortunately, make a case incurable,” said Dr. Constantine Mantz, a radiation oncologist on the medical staff of Lee Health. Surgery would later reveal Peter’s cancer had spread to a lymph node. “For almost all patients with Merkel cell carcinoma, some type of radiation therapy is recommended. We treat the area where the cancer had originated in the skin. Even after it’s been completely removed by surgery, there is still risk that it may reoccur right in that same area,” said Dr. Mantz. As he prepares for six weeks of radiation, his goal is to educate others on the importance of skin protection. “Getting regular skin checks is the best maneuver a patient can take to prevent this type of aggressive skin cancer from harming them,” said Dr. Mantz. Doctors also encourage patients to make an appointment if they notice any changes to their skin. “Every one of them is curable if it’s found early. The thing you don’t want people to do is to watch a lump on their skin grow and not have it attended to,” said Dr. Mantz. As Peter continues his cancer battle, he hopes to inspire others to keep a close eye on their skin. What does small skin colored lump on the scalp indicate? - Dr. Urmila Nischal

01:16
Small skin coloured bump on the scalp could be just due to blockage of the hair follicle. So whatever secretions are there remaining inside and you get a skin coloured bump. So when there is no itching, redness or nothing, if you scratch it can get inflamed and get secondarily infected and then you can have a pustule. So if it is just a skin coloured bump then you need not bother. Sometimes a skin coloured bump with rough surface could indicate that there is a viral infection. In some conditions like verucca vulgaris you can get a skin coloured bump initially and which later becomes rough on the surface. So it is always better to consult a dermatologist and get things sorted out.

Leukemia red spots | red spots on skin Leukemia red spots Subscribe My Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSQ9jXeLYjPBltSL9zCRvPQ Video Url: https://youtu.be/PQrhNbAn7xs Many signs and symptoms of AML result from a shortage of normal blood cells, which happens when the leukemia cells crowd out the normal blood-making cells in the bone marrow. As a result, people do not have enough normal red blood cells, white blood cells, and blood platelets. These shortages show up on blood tests, and they can also cause symptoms. Symptoms from low red blood cell counts anemia: Red blood cells carry oxygen to all of the cells in the body. A shortage of red blood cells can cause: Tiredness fatigue Weakness Feeling cold Feeling dizzy or lightheaded Headaches Shortness of breath Symptoms from low white blood cell counts: Infections can occur because of a shortage of normal white blood cells called leukopenia or a shortage of normal neutrophils called neutropenia. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell needed to fight infections from bacteria. Patients with AML can get infections that don’t seem to go away or may get one infection after another. Fever often goes along with the infection. Although people with AML may have high white blood cell counts due to excess numbers of leukemia cells, these cells don’t protect against infection the way normal white blood cells do. Melanoma: Causes and symptoms

02:58
Melanoma: Causes and symptoms Symptoms of melanoma Causes of Melanoma Melanoma skin cancer Any changes to moles should be checked by a doctor As with other forms of cancer, the early stages of melanoma may not produce any symptoms. This is why actively checking skin to spot early signs of the disease is important. Changes in the appearance of the skin are key indicators of melanoma and are also used in the diagnostic process. The Melanoma Research Foundation has produced a web page that compares pictures of melanoma with those of normal moles. This American non-profit organization also lists the following symptoms and signs that should prompt a visit to the doctor: Skin change - a new spot or mole or a change in color, shape, or size of a current spot or mole. Skin sore that fails to heal. Spot or sore that becomes painful, itchy, tender, or bleeds. Spot or lump that looks shiny, waxy, smooth, or pale. A firm red lump that bleeds or appears ulcerated or crusty. A flat, red spot that is rough, dry, or scaly. The ABCDE examination of skin moles is also a key way to reveal suspect lesions (see below). Causes of melanoma As with all cancers, research is ongoing into the causes of melanoma. People with certain types of skin are more prone to developing melanoma, with the following factors associated with an increased incidence of skin cancer: High freckle density or tendency to develop freckles after sun exposure. High number of moles. Five or more atypical moles. Presence of actinic lentigines (small gray-brown spots also known as liver spots, sun spots, or age spots). Giant congenital melanocytic nevus (brown skin marks present at birth - birth marks). Pale skin that does not tan easily and burns; light-colored eyes. Red or light-colored hair. High sun exposure, particularly if it produces blistering sunburn, and especially if sun exposure is intermittent rather than regular. Age - risk increases with age. Family or personal history of melanoma. Being female. Having an organ transplant.

Do you think you might have skin cancer? Schedule an appointment with one of our dermatologists to get proper diagnosis: https://www.usdermatologypartners.com/our-locations/ More patients are diagnosed with skin cancer than all other cancers combined. Because of this, it's crucial to be aware of skin cancer and how to treat it. Skin cancers can appear as sores that don't heal, scaly red crusted spots or pink bumps. However, skin cancers have a root system that grow into the skin that we can't see with our naked eye.
