Learn how to make Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms with Johnsonville® Italian Sausage. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms WHAT YOU NEED 48 large fresh mushrooms 1 pkg. (19 oz.) Johnsonville® Italian Mild Sausage Links 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened 2 Tbsp. fresh parsley, finely chopped 1 Tbsp. lemon juice 3 garlic cloves, minced 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated PREPARATION Preheat oven to 400ºF. Remove mushroom stems and discard; set caps aside. Place mushroom caps on foil-lined baking sheets; set aside. Remove sausage casings. In a skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Remove from heat. Stir in bread crumbs and set aside. In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, parsley, lemon juice, and garlic until smooth. Combine cream cheese mixture and sausage. Fill each cap with sausage and cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. A new family favorite! Sausage Stuffed Jumbo Portobello Mushroom Caps. COMMENT, LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, SHARE! Sausage Stuffed Jumbo Portobello Mushroom Caps Ingredients: 4 – 6 large Portobello mushroom caps, cleaned ¼ cup olive oil 2 Tbsp. Marsala cooking wine Sausage Stuffing: 1 ½ lbs. ground sausage (hot and sweet) 2 Tbsp garlic, minced (approx. 2 cloves) 1 yellow onion, chopped 2 cups baby portobello mushrooms, chopped 1 cup panko bread crumbs 1 cup Havarti cheese 1 cup parmesan cheese 2 Tbsp. parsley (fresh or dried) 1 tsp. seasoned pepper 1 tsp. chili powder ½ tsp. salt Directions: 1. Clean out the inside of the Portobello mushroom caps 2. Brush olive oil and marsala cooking wine mixture on mushrooms 3. In skillet, cook garlic, onions and baby portobello mushrooms in hot olive oil, until soft. 4. Add pepper, chili powder and salt to softened vegetables. 5. Add in ground sausage. Mix well and cook together until almost done. 6. Stir in 2/3 cup panko bread crumbs; combine thoroughly. 7. Turn off/remove from heat, and stir in cheeses and parsley; combine well allowing cheese to melt. 8. (Sneak a taste in to be sure you like it!) 9. Stuff mushroom caps with filling. 10. Spring remaining 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs on top. 11. Drizzle any remaining olive oil and marsala wine mixture over top. 12. Bake on 325 degrees, for 50 minutes. Enjoy!!! This is my family recipe for our delicious home made Stuffed Mushrooms. Enjoy! - Hedy Link to my cookbook "Mangia, It's Good For You!": http://hedysplace.com/index.php/cookbook/ Visit my blog: http://hedysplace.com/index.php/blog/ Recipe for Stuffed Mushrooms: 12 medium to large mushrooms 2-3 garlic cloves finely chopped Fresh Italian parsley (about two tablespoons) 1/4 cup Olive oil 3/4 cup grated Italian cheese (Reggiano Romano, Pecorino Romano, Locatelli or Parmesan)\ 3/4 cup breadcrumbs 1/2 cup cooked sausage-2 links removed from casing (optional) Salt to taste, if desired Clean mushrooms thoroughly. Remove stems , leaving caps whole (optional chop stems and include in stuffing). Brown sausage and set aside. Sauté finely chopped garlic and parsley in olive oil. Add grated cheese, chopped stems (if desired) and breadcrumbs. Mix well. Remove, slice and place in mushroom caps, this is optional. Sprinkle oil in baking dish so they don’t stick to the bottom. Place in baking dish, sprinkle a little more oil and bake in oven for about 20-25 minutes (depending on size of mushrooms) at 350 degrees. If you've ever tried stuffed mushrooms, and like them, then your going to love Vito's Portobello stuffed delicacy Portobello Mushrooms Recipe: 4 large Portobello mushrooms, with stems cut out ½+cup mozzarella cheese ½ + cup cheddar cheese 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese 1/3 cup Romano 1/3 cup of Italian seasoned bread crumbs chopped ham or pepperoni, crumbled Italian sausage Various chopped vegetables such as: artichoke hearts, different colored bell peppers, onions, chunks of zucchini, diced tomatoes, etc. Italian herb mix such as basil, rosemary, bay leaves oregano and thyme, salt and pepper to taste if needed. First spray or rub the top of each washed off Portobello cap with a little olive oil. Put them in the oven underside down on a broiler pan and broil at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. This will soften them and help drain some of the moisture from the Portobello caps. Remove the caps from the oven and puncture them so that the moisture can drain. Turn them over and keep on the pan to fill and cook. Fill the cap with the cheese mixture, vegetables and meats if desired. Add herbs and salt and pepper to your taste. You can make the Portobello’s cheese only, cheese and vegetable, cheese and pepperoni, cheese and sausage or a combination of everything. Top off with Mozzarella and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Put the oven on bake at 400 and bake for 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye on it. When the cheese browns on top, the mushrooms are done. Let them cool for 5 minutes, cut with a pizza cutter and serve. In the episode where I made these I combined the cheeses and breadcrumbs, with chopped artichoke hearts and a half a stick of melted butter. I filled the caps with this mixture only and it made delicious cheesy, tangy mouth watering Portobello appetizer! Chef Kim demonstrates the making of her recipe for Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms. The marinara sauce recipe is on Facebook.com/chefkimmeri. Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms yield about 15-20 mushrooms ingredients 15-20 mushrooms 3 tbsp butter 2 tbsp olive oil, approximately 1-2 tsp fresh minced garlic ¼ cup minced onion ½ - ¾ lb sweet or hot Italian sausage 1 egg 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs ¼ cup marinara sauce 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 2 tbsp shredded Parmesan procedure Remove the stems from the mushrooms and set aside. Heat a large skillet with the butter and 1 tbsp olive oil. Once it is fairly hot, add the mushroom caps. Cook the mushrooms, turning over after the first side is browned, and continue until the caps are soft. They should definitely be browned. Don't steam them. This happens if your heat is not high enough. Also, don't over load the pan. It should be one layer of caps, you may have to do two batches, depending on the size of your pan. After they are cooked, remove them from the pan. You can use this same pan to cook the sausage and you don't need to clean it first. You can grind the mushroom stems in a food processor if you choose. You don't have to use the stems. Heat the pan again and coat it with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the garlic and onion. Cook, stirring occasionally over medium to medium high heat, for a few minutes. Then add the sausage, breaking it up so it cooks evenly. Once the sausage is partially cooked, add the ground up stems. Season the sausage with salt and pepper. Remove it to a large bowl after it is cooked, draining off the excess fat. Allow it to cool for a few minutes then add the remaining ingredients, except for the Parmesan. It is best to use your hands to mix it with. You can wear plastic gloves if you desire. Once it is mixed well, taste it for additional salt and pepper. Place the mushroom caps on a baking sheet pan. Squeeze together about a tablespoon of the mixture in your hand and then and fill the mushrooms. Top each one with Parmesan. **these can be made a day ahead of time and chilled. Preheat oven to 400. Cook for about 10 minutes.

Here is what you will need! Makes 15 Ingredients 15 mushrooms 1 tablespoon canola oil 2 tablespoons chopped garlic ½ tablespoon kosher salt ½ tablespoons freshly ground black pepper 8 ounces softened cream cheese ¼ cup Italian breadcrumbs ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese, divided 2 tablespoons chopped parsley Kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper Chopped parsley, to garnish Preparation 1. Preheat oven to 350°F 2. Cut the stems off of each of the mushrooms and finely chop them, setting the mushroom caps aside for later. 3. Heat the oil in a pan over high heat. Cook the chopped stems with the garlic, salt, and pepper for about six to eight minutes, constantly stirring. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Remove from heat. 4. In a medium bowl, combine cooked stems, cream cheese, breadcrumbs, half of the parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper, mixing until evenly combined. The mixture should be extremely thick. 5. Space out the mushroom caps evenly on a baking sheet, upside down. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture on top of each mushroom. Top each mushroom with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Sausage-Stuffed Mushrooms Perfect for holiday entertaining, these warm hors d'oeuvres can be assembled a day ahead and chilled, then baked before serving. Ingredients: 3 Italian hot sausages, casings removed or 1/2 pound bulk sausage, crumbled 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (about 3 ounces) 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, room temperature 1 large egg yolk Olive oil 24 large (about 2-inch-diameter) mushrooms, stemmed 1/3 cup dry white wine or apple juice Directions: Sauté sausage and oregano in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat until sausage is cooked through and brown, breaking into small pieces with back of fork, about 7 minutes. Using slotted spoon, transfer sausage mixture to large bowl and cool. Mix in 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder, then cream cheese. Season filling with salt and pepper; mix in egg yolk. Brush 15x10x2-inch glass baking dish with olive oil to coat. Brush cavity of each mushroom cap with white wine; fill with scant 1 tablespoon filling and sprinkle with some of remaining ½ cup Parmesan cheese. Arrange mushrooms, filling side up, in prepared dish. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and chill.) Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake uncovered until mushrooms are tender and filling is brown on top, about 25 minutes. Makes 24. Sue's Tips: Baby Portabella mushrooms are a good choice for this recipe.

If you're looking for an awesome appetizer for super Sunday (the Super Bowl) or any other big game day or any day when you have a bunch of relatives and friends over and you're looking for in really good appetizers look no further! This is my mother's sausage stuffed mushroom recipe and it is absolutely amazing! Everyone will love this recipe plus its high protein, low carb. And it only has three ingredients and is very quick and easy to do. It is a very cheap and easy recipe that will impress everyone. Johnsonville Italian Sausage Links, casings removed 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese 2 tablespoons fresh parsley 1 tablespoon lemon juice 3 garlic cloves 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese Olive oil Directions: 1. Place 48 large fresh mushrooms on a baking pan. 2. In a pan, add 2 tablespoons olive oil. Add 1 package (19 oz.) Johnsonville Italian Sausage Links, casings removed. 3. Cook over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. 4. Add 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs. Stir. 5. In a bowl, add 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese. Add 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 3 garlic cloves, and mix. Add sausage and mix. 6. Distribute sausage mix among mushrooms. Add 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. 7. INGREDIENTS 2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil 4 medium portobello mushrooms, stems and gills removed 1 (10) oz. package frozen chopped spinach, drained and squeezed dry 1 (14) oz. can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped 4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature 2 tbsp. sour cream 2 tbsp. mayonnaise 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese, divided 1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese, divided 2 cloves garlic, minced red pepper flakes kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Brush face-down mushroom caps with olive oil. Cook on baking sheet for about 10 minutes until beginning to soften. Meanwhile, combine spinach, artichoke, cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, 1/2 cup mozzarella, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Flip over mushrooms and stuff each cap with an equal amount of the spinach mixture. Sprinkle tops with remaining cheeses. Return pan to oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the mushrooms are easily pierced with fork and the cheese is melted. Once melted, broil the mushroom caps for a few minutes until the cheese starts to brown.

A favorite for parties, Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms are always a hit with friends and family. Stuffed with sausage, cream cheese and seasonings, they can even be made in advance. _________________________Get the recipe____________________________ INGREDIENTS 3 hot italian sausages casings removed 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano 3 large garlic cloves minced 4 ounces Spicy Sweet Red Peppers and 4 ounces of juice from the jar I used Delallo 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1 8- ounce package cream cheese 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese 3 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley Salt and pepper 4 tablespoons olive oil 24 large mushrooms stemmed and gills removed INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet, saute the sausage over med-high heat until cooked through, breaking into small pieces with a fork. Add the oregano, garlic and red peppers continuing to cook for another minute. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the mixture to a large bowl. Pour off and discard the fat. Return the sausage mixture to the warm pan with the heat off and add the red pepper juice, Worcestershire sauce, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley, salt and pepper. Stir until thoroughly combined. Set aside and let the mixture cool slightly. Coat a large baking dish with cooking spray and brush the inside of each mushroom with olive oil. Fill each mushroom with approximately 1 tablespoon of the filling and arrange the mushrooms, filling side up, in the baking dish. Bake uncovered until mushrooms are tender and the filling is brown on top. Approximately 25 minutes.
