How Prevacid®24HR Works
Prevacid®24HR is part of a newer class of acid-reducer medicines called Proton Pump Inhibitors (also known as PPIs). It prevents acid that causes heartburn pain for a full 24 hours with one pill a day. It works by stopping the release of most acid into the stomach. As with all over-the-counter PPIs, although some people get complete relief of symptoms within 24 hours, it may take 1-4 days for full effect.

Nexium And Prilosec Causing Massive Health Problems, Including Kidney Failure - The Ring Of Fire
An estimated 15 million Americans are currently taking drugs like Nexium which work to control heartburn, indigestion, and acid reflux. Unfortunately, those who turn to Nexium and other Proton-pump inhibitors will need to proceed much more cautiously as studies have confirmed that taking these drugs increase the chance of kidney problems – and even kidney failure – by as much as fifty percent. Proton-pump inhibitors are a class of drugs which include Nexium, Prilosec, and Prevacid which work by blocking the secretion of acid into the stomach. These extremely common medications are sold both by prescription and over-the-counter. The recent discovery of this increased risk of chronic kidney disease and even failure means that much more care must be taken in determining if a person should be popping the purple pill. America's Lawyer, Mike Papantonio, discusses this with Thom Hartmann. Proton Pump Inhibitors – Nexium and Prilosec Side Effects | Saunders & Walker P.A.
Proton Pump Inhibitor Flaws Spurring Litigation Millions of Americans take proton pump inhibitors like Nexium and Prilosec for gastric distress, but the solution may be worse than the problem. Proton pump inhibitors alleviate problems like acid reflux and heartburn by reducing the amount of stomach acid produced. A growing body of research suggests that long-term use of these drugs can cause major health problems. Proton pump inhibitor side effects can include serious kidney damage and kidney failure. A growing number of lawsuits are challenging big drug companies on this matter, arguing that the companies have downplayed the very serious long-term effects of these drugs. People seeking relief from common complaints like heartburn and gastric reflux shouldn’t have to run the risk of serious kidney damage, and drug companies should be upfront about the risks these drugs pose. If you’re among the 15 million Americans who regularly take PPI drugs, and you’ve experienced side effects from these medications, you may be able to recover compensation in a court of law. Reach out to Saunders & Walker P.A. today for a consultation concerning proton pump inhibitor drugs and their impact on your health. Saunders & Walker P.A. is a firm with experience in taking on the big drug companies and winning. https://www.saunderslawyers.com/harmful-drugs/nexium-prilosec/

Heartburn Drugs: What Are the Risks of Taking My Heartburn Drug?
If you have taken Prilosec, Nexium or Prevacid, please listen to this important legal announcement. The Food and Drug Administration has issued several warnings to patients that are taking these types of drugs known as Proton Pump Inhibitors or PPI’s. According to the FDA, long-term use may cause problems with the body’s ability to absorb calcium, magnesium, and other nutrients. Patients who take these drugs for an extended period may be at risk of suffering kidney damage, bone fractures, heart attack and other serious side effects. Several studies have determined that there are potentially a lot of risks involved with the use of these types of over the counter acid reflux medication. In January 2016, a study found that PPI’s increase the risk of Chronic Kidney Disease by 20-50%. Damage to the kidneys may leave them unable to filter toxins from the bloodstream. Chronic kidney failure is not reversible, so any symptoms of kidney issues such as lack of urine production or fluid retention should immediately be reported to your physician. The FDA issued warnings in 2010 that PPI’s could lead to an increased risk of hip or spine fractures. Those receiving high doses for more than a year were at the greatest risk. The FDA also issued a safety alert that PPI usage may lead to low magnesium levels, which could lead to seizures, muscle spasm or an irregular heartbeat. If you or a loved one suffered kidney damage after using these drugs, learn your legal rights. You may be entitled to financial compensation. Call us right now for your free consultation.
A Look Back At the Historical Dangers of Nexium And Prilosec - The Ring Of Fire
Proton pump inhibitors are some of the most commonly taken medications in America. Everyday, millions of Americans take PPIs in the form of medications like Nexium and Prilosec. But what they don’t realize is that these medications have been linked to dangerous kidney diseases that the manufacturers were aware of. In spite of these dangers, the FDA remained relatively silent about the issue for years. Recently, America’s Lawyer, Mike Papantonio, discussed these dangers with attorney Neil Overholtz, so let’s take a look at that discussion.… Learn more about Nexium and Prilosec litigation at https://www.levinlaw.com/prilosec-nexium-lawsuit-lawyer-side-effects-recall-help and http://drugsafetynews.com/nexium/ Spread the word! Treat and Stop Acid Reflux with Natural Medicine - Dr. Patti Kim, ND
Low stomach acid causes most Acid Reflux symptoms, according to Dr. Patti Kim, ND (Naturopathic Doctor). In this video interview, Dr. Kim discusses: 1) The symptoms of Acid Reflux, including burning, heat or pain sensation in chest and/or throat area, regurgitation, belching due to the sphincter being weakened, feeling full sooner than normal, chronic sore throats or laryngitis. 2) The conventional treatment for Acid Reflux, including calcium carbonate antacids such as Tums, Maalox, Mylanta; or proton pump inhibitors such as Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid and Protonix. 3) That neutralizing stomach acid or stopping stomach acid production with artificial drugs can be harmful to the body because of the numerous side effects associated with the drugs, and that this type of conventional symptom treatment does not treat the root cause. 4) That stress is a primary cause of lowering stomach acid. 5) That stomach acids leak into the esophagus because of a weak sphincter (often due to stress). 6) Factors that influence acid reflux: poor nutrition, foods that cause inflammation, eating spicy foods and alcohol. 7) Natural Medicine treatment of acid reflux includes: stomach pH may be tested; goal is to raise stomach acid (or lower if too high) through dietary changes, exercise, herbs, nutritional supplements, digestive supplements and Homeopathic remedies. 8) Especially important is removal of processed foods and eating whole, organic foods. 9) Dr. Kim has a great success rate of stopping acid reflux: most of her patients are symptom free within a week. Eczema/Psoriasis (auto-immune conditions). Due to Prevacid, Protonix, Nexium (PPIs)
Eczema or Psoriasis (auto-immune conditions). Due to Prevacid, Protonix, Nexium (PPIs) Could PPIs (Proton Pump Inhibitors) such as Omeprazole, Prilosec, Prevacid, Aciphex, Protonix, Pantoprazole, Nexium cause Eczema, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), diabetes type 1, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis (auto-immune conditions) The article was published in PubMed: Esomeprazole Induces Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Transmucosal Permeability Increase, states that: "Esomeprazole induced a significant transmucosal leak in the upper GI tract of patients taking the drug for the first time. The leak occurred quickly, within days of first taking the drug. The leak was also reversed within days of stopping the medication." It concludes that:" There are potential implications for transmucosal leak of other medications that a patient on a PPI may be taking, as well as possible leak of endogenous peptides/proteins. The clinical consequences of this phenomenon are currently unknown, but are potentially important. PMID: 18684245 DOI: 10.1111/j.1365-2036.2008.03824.x The concept explained. When "gaps" got formed in GI, big particles, proteins, could "leak" into the blood stream, acting as Anti-gens (Ag). Immune system attacks them, by forming Anti-bodies (Ab). Those Popular Acid Reflux Meds May Be Driving You Straight Into Kidney Failure
CNN reports a new study says taking proton pump inhibitors might dramatically increase risk of kidney failure and kidney disease. Doctors prescribe PPIs to help people who suffer from regular heart burn, ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease or acid reflux. They are sold under the names Prevacid, Prilosec, Nexium, Protonix, Aciphex and others. About 15 million Americans have prescriptions for them, although people can get them without a prescription -- so the number who use them is likely much higher. The medications are popular because they relieve symptoms pretty quickly. It was also thought that they had a low toxicity. Looking at data from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the study's authors found just over 173,000 people who used PPIs and just over 20,000 took a PPI alternative known as histamine H2 receptor blockers. Five years later, data showed that patients who took PPIs had a 96% increased risk of developing kidney failure and a 28% increased risk of chronic kidney disease compared to the patients who took the histamine H2 receptor blockers. http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/14/health/proton-pump-inhibitors-kidney-failure/index.html?eref=rss_us http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Proton Pump Inhibitors Increase Risk for Kidney Failure and Heart Attacks
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) such as Prilosec, Nexium, Protonix, and Aciphex have been available for about 20 years and each year about 15 million people use them and bring in $10 billion every year. PPIs are vastly overprescribed by MDs and because they are available over the counter, are overused by patients. The major known side effects of PPIs include poor digestion, poor absorption of B12, iron, calcium, and magnesium which lead to an increased risk for osteoporosis, senile dementia, C difficile infections, pneumonia and now according to articles in the January 11, 2016 issue of the journal Internal Medicine an increased risk for having chronic kidney disease and, as documented in the June of 2015 issue of the journal PLoS One, heart attacks. PPIs also block the metabolism of Valium, Coumadin, DIlantin, Digoxin and probably decrease the effectiveness of Plavix. For more information, visit http://doctorsaputo.com

The Dangerous Side Effects of Heartburn Drugs
Proton pump inhibitors are very common prescription medications given to people with heartburn and acid reflux disease. You may know them as Nexium, Prevacid, or Prilosec, or by another familiar brand name. They work by blocking acid buildup in the stomach But they have also been found to limit the absorption of minerals your body needs – that’s a serious PPI side-effect. But even more seriously, it can result in acute kidney injury or interstitial nephritis, chronic kidney disease, or even kidney failure, requiring dialysis treatment or a kidney transplant. These Proton Pump Inhibitors side effects have also been linked to heart attack and bone fractures. Proton-pump inhibitors are marketed as safe and effective. But now, it appears that the drug makers may not have adequately warned the public about known side effects of acid reflux drugs. It’s possible that such warnings to both patients and doctors might have helped them to choose to take action that would have avoided serious injury. If you or a loved one developed any of these conditions after taking a proton pump inhibitor heartburn medication, you should talk with a Proton Pump Inhibitor lawyer. Too often drug manufacturers put making profit over people. These heart burn drug makers have a duty to provide safe products. If there are risks of harm associated with their products, they also must provide adequate warnings. If they fail to do this, they should be held responsible for injuries that it causes. These PPI makers don’t have to live with the consequences of failing to warn of risks they knew or should have known from. Consequences that the victims and their families have to live with every single day. At Greg Jones Law we want to hold PPI companies responsible to get you or your loved one paid for your medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and for any permanent disability you or a loved one may suffer due to these drugs. At Greg Jones Law, we have a proven track record of helping victims of dangerous drugs and medical devices. Contact Greg Jones Law today for a free, no obligation consultation. We don’t need any money upfront and there is no legal fees unless you get paid. In other words, if you don’t get paid, we don’t get paid. So if you or a loved one has suffered Prevacid side effects, Nexium side effects or Prilosec side effects, such as kidney failure or if you have symptoms of kidney failure, call us or fill out the form on the webpage. At Greg Jones Law, we’re here to help.

Mayo Clinic Minute: 2 questions for people who use heartburn medications
Heartburn medications taken by millions of people are under scrutiny following studies that reveal a risk for side effects, including kidney damage. "The risk is pretty low, but it's not zero," says Mayo Clinic gastroenterologist Dr. Ken DeVault. "So it's worth talking to your physician." The medications are called proton pump inhibitors, sold under brand names such as Prilosec, Nexium and Prevacid, and the generic forms, such as omeprazole, esomeprazole and lansoprazole. Dr. DeVault says, despite the risks, proton pump inhibitors are the best option for some patients with heartburn. However, he thinks the medications are over used by many people who could find alternatives. In this Mayo Clinic Minute, Dr. DeVault asks two important questions about proton pump inhibitors and offers other ideas for beating heartburn. Jeff Olsen reports. Heartburn Pills Damage Your Heart, Kidneys and Bones…Here’s What You Can Do To Fix This
Heartburn Pills Damage Your Heart, Kidneys and Bones…Here’s What You Can Do To Fix This According to the latest statistics, heartburn is one of the most common digestive disorders in the United States. The experts warn that you should be very careful, because if it’s left untreated, acid reflux can cause irritation and damage to the oesophagus, lungs, vocal cords and throat as well as cause pneumonia, ulcers, and breathing problems. This condition can quickly become unmanageable as sufferers have trouble going about their daily lives because of chest pain experienced after meals and throughout the night. UNFORTUNATELY, more than 15 million Americans currently rely on prescription heartburn medication to manage their symptoms. Proton pump inhibitors, the main medication prescribed for the condition, are currently the most widely prescribed drugs in the world. The MILLION-DOLLAR question – how does heartburn medication work? First of all, you should know that there are many different types of heart medications on the market shelves today. And, some of them, like tums and pesto-bismol, are available over-the-counters. And others, like Prilosec, Prevacid and Nexium, can only be taken through a prescription. Heartburn “appears” when stomach acid backs up into the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach. Prescripion proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) reduce the production of acid in the stomach. This makes any stomach juice that may reach the esophagus less irritating. Ladies and gentlemen, this is very important for you to remember – these drugs are not a quick fix. They can have devastating side-effects and multiple studies have shown that 70% of patients taking them don’t actually need them. Here are just a few risks associated with this medication. Kidneys Disease A recent study, conducted by group of experts at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health, has analyzed two sets of data representing more than 250,000 people in an attempt to find a link between PPI use and kidney problems. The experts found that regular users of PPIs were 13% more likely to develop chronic kidney disease than acid reflux sufferers that do not take the medication. Other studies have found that PPI use makes patients 20%-50% higher risk of chronic kidney disease. The condition is known to cause toxic overload, fluid retention and central nervous system damage. Heart Disease Study, conducted by scientists at the Stanford University in California, has found that people with gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD) who took PPIs had a 16 % risk of heart attack. They were also twice as likely to die from cardiovascular problems. Another study has found that the drug may lead to cardiovascular problems. The findings show that proton-pump inhibitors may not only lower stomach acid, they may also affect the health of the blood vessel itself. This is mostly because of the reduced levels of nitric oxide, a chemical which is produced to protect and relax blood vessels. This can lead to an increased risk of heart attack. According to Dr. John Cooke, chair of cardiovascular sciences at the Houston Methodist Research Institute, PPI users are 16- 21% more likely to suffer a heart attack over a 17-year period than chronic acid reflux suffers who were not taking the medication. ◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉◉ Plz, Subscribe Susana Home Remedies Here... ↪► https://goo.gl/58CeGP ---------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER Please note: This video clip is created as part of an educational assignment on the basis of my knowledge gained from books and different sources and should be treated as such.
