New Motor Mount for Styrofoam Plane
Yep, I crashed it again with an amazingly graceful cartwheel and finished with a sideways belly slide. However, the motor and motor mount were ripped right off. I just don't understand it (sarcasticly speaking, of course, lol). So, here is my idea for a new motor mount for my styrofoam plane.

RC and Control Line Engine Test Stands, Gas or Glow Fuel
Ron Sexton's fine crafted engine test stands shown during operation and a detailed bench top review. I'm not being paid by Ron, but I liked his designs so much that I wanted to help him get the word out. These stands are not mass produced, rather they are hand crafted one at a time and have a lot of character and high quality materials put into each one. I've spoken to Ron on a few occasions, and he puts a lot of time and effort into these. Help support a fellow RC hobbyist who's been into the hobby for almost 50 years, contact Ron about one of his stands today! A new email contact will be added at a later date. Ron's phone number is shown in the video currently, approx 2:15 in. Thanks for watching!

Build Your 1st Foam Board Airplane
Avro Vulcan Foam Build: This is my first model airplane built out of flat-foam board and the free plans were obtained from: http://www.modelaviation.com/avrovulcan. Building your own park-ready delta wing out of 6mm foam board is easy and you get to enjoy flying a model with a slightly scale look, plenty of power, and maneuverability that will inspire you to want to build more flat-foam models. Personal Modifications: All foam parts were covered in packing tape & edges sealed with aluminum tape; markings were printed on plain paper using a inkjet printer & glued on with puzzle glue; a Velcro strap was added to secure the battery; wing tips were used to serve as landing skids; & the motor mount was reinforced with plywood braces.

AXON Construction Details
No plans needed for this one, just refer to this video and the relevant videos on the fuselage tube, wing, and tail section. PARTS LIST BELOW: The Axon is made of Dollar Tree foamboard (Readi-Board) using the simple construction techniques described on this channel. Four sheets of foamboard plus hot glue, packing tape, plastic gift cards, four 9 gram servos, and flight electronics are all that are needed to build this plane. The motor mount 5 degree thrustline adjustment is to ensure the thrust force approximately intersects the aerodynamic center of the aircraft. This is very roughly at the mid-chord of the wing. The angled thrust avoids pitching forward and down upon adding power. Below is a sample parts list as bought from HobbyKing. There are other good sources and many variations of these parts, so use your judgment and ask questions as needed. Gigantor - Huge Foamboard RC Plane!
This is a quick video I made awhile back of a ridiculously huge foamboard plane I made. I wasn't thinking of a sharing it at the time, otherwise I would have added a build video. The side walls are double-thickness foamboard, as are the motor mounts (with plywood facing). The wing has some 1/8" plywood sitting vertically down the length of it with little squares of plywood perpendicular to reinforce the thin vertical plywood spar. Near the middle, there are square dowels glued in that are staggered between the wings so I can separate them. I used 1/16" thick angle aluminum for the wheel mount setup and some cheapy foam wheels I had in a box. Two motor/ESC combos: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyking-donkey-st3511-810kv-brushless-power-system-combo.html One 12x6 APC electric prop CCW: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/apc-style-propeller-12x6-grey-ccw-1pc.html One 12x6 APC electric prop CW - couldn't find link Two metal gear servos for ailerons: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/corona-cs238mg-metal-gear-servo-4-6kg-0-14sec-22g.html 4 servos for flaps, rudder and elevator: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hks-9650-high-speed-servo-2-3kg-25g-0-08sec.html You can use two 2200 mah 3s lipos in parallel to up your mah like I did, or just buy a larger mah 3s lipo (better option). About 8-10 minute flight time with roughly 4000mah.

Fixin' The Clown!
Replacing the dearly departed motor mount on the Super Clown. The cowl for this plane is structural! It doesn't say so in the plans but without reinforcing the plywood motor mount it will fail as it did on this model! I personally prefer this method because I find the cowl ugly but the fiberglass cowl is easier.

Maiden Flight KFM-7 55 degree Delta Wing Dollar Tree type Foam
My first RC flight video, shot with a phone, (potato) and my first attempt at a stepped wing delta using Dollar Tree type foam board. This is often called Art Board here in the UK. With a 60% size increase the shape copied from Dutch RC Adventures https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXgLCadWLBnAz0yTF4oq-P_xqvLVWxRtL I wanted to use a full width A1 foam board for half the wing span. Here's a link that he gave for his wing http://fwcg.3dzone.dk/?wing_span=100&root_chord=40&tip_chord=15&sweep_type=0&sweep=55&cg_pos=20&show_mac_lines=0 You just have to size the step as a percentage of the inner and outer wing chord. This thing flew very easily and was very docile. I had limited the control throws to approximately 50% at the transmitter, but it needs more. I also have built in mechanical differential, so they give less down and more up. The chord of the elevons (or ailevators if you prefer) is 3 times wider at the outer end. I've done quite a lot of research about RC flying wings and the KF airfoils, and this seems to be the final best choice. There is almost no stall during flight and if it's level at that point, it just kind of washes downwards a bit and you can recover easily if you have a bit of height, no problem. Even just 20ft (6mtrs) is enough. I reckon this is an ideal beginners plane to fly, though the build is not exactly simple. I will build another at some time, using lighter foam as this weighs 1.3 kilos without the battery! Hopefully I will remember to do a build vid too. Motor mount is made from 3mm liteply. One piece on top and one on the bottom of the central trailing edge double thickness with a liteply 'key' pushed through the top one. They are separated by a couple of pieces of foam to match the wing. And as you can see, the motor mount is on the top piece. The whole thing just slides over the center part of the wing and locks in place with the key going into a 3mm slot cut in the foam. The key is retained with a cut off zip tie. And the whole thing will fold in half, if necessary .

Single Engine Multi-Purpose Cargo Plane Maiden Flight
This is a 56" wingspan, Single Engine R/C Cargo Plane made with FFF with and All Up Weight (AUW) of 2.25 Lbs and powered by a BP 2217-9 Electric Motor and 36 amp ESC with a 2350 MAH LIPO battery supplying the power. The plans were taken from the RC groups Twin Cargo Plane and modified to use a wing with 3" more chord similar to the SeaBB. A single engine motor mount was fashioned from the type used on the SeaBB. At 50 seconds into the clip, you can see the cargo door open and then the plane noses up to dislodge 2 nerf bombs which drop from the cargo bay. I didn't have any parachute guys yet, but have them on order for a later flight. The plane was cut out on a PhlatPrinter CNC machine and took 5 sheets of 4x8' foam to construct. It has a carbon fiber and aluminum rod thru the wing spar to provide support for the wing. The nose gear came unglued during a takeoff attempt which required a hand launch to get airborne and a not so gentle landing was made to avoid further damage until the nose gear can be repaired. The video was taken at Hickory Point in Lake County, Florida.

Progress on the Skyline, Roof Rack Install on Jeep, Motor Mount Upgrade on M2 and More (E12)
It's been a busy past couple of weeks though I've been able to find time to make some solid progress on several projects. I started by tweaking the designs of several parts on the Firebird model to RC drift car conversion project. The suspension and steering overall has been functioning great, though there are a few minor things I want to adjust first before considering these systems complete which I discuss in the video. I also got a chance to repair the broken steering arm mount on the Subasharu, and mount the 3D printed roof rack I built awhile back onto the Jeep Cherokee. I did a quick unboxing of the AMT 83 Camaro Z28 and discussed my plans for this build and made some progress on the 3D printed R34 Skyline build. Finally I installed a new metal extruder motor mount on the Makergear M2. Homemade Electric Jet Engine Working Model (1:24 scale) Part 2
This is a model of a jet engine (scale 1:24) that I made with an electric motor that moves, besides the fan, a set of gears and a flywheel that spin in 16:1 ratio, which I took from a flywheel-driven toy car. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSCcjEU0OQ8 Part 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_B3GNZCHeE The cool thing is that because of the flywheel, it makes the model react and sound similar to a real full-size jet engine. Of course I know there are a lot of real homemade jet engines out there that are cooler that my humble model, but keep in mind that I made this just for fun, with only junk that was hanging around, and I spend just a few months (on and off) to made this. Besides there are a few advantages of having an electric model instead of a real jet engine model, like: is cheaper, is safer, is not too loud, etc. I wasn't thinking in replicate any real jet engine in particular but as you can see is a model of a high-bypass turbofan for airliners, comparable to the CFM56 that is used on the Boeing 737. At maximum speed the fan goes at 3600 RPM, and the fly wheel goes 16 times faster (57600 RPM). Since I was a kid a plan to make this jet engine but I never accomplished, so the main purpose of this project was to fulfill that old wish, although it was also for fun. I used: - DC motor of 12V that I extracted from an old hairdryer. - AC/DC adapter with output of 13.5V and 1000 mA. - AC 120V rheostat (dimmer) to use it as a throttle. - A gearbox with a flywheel which I took from a flywheel-driven toy car. It also has a little piece of plastic striking the gear of the flywheel to make the high-pitched whistling sound. - The blades of the fan are made of metal that I extracted from a bunch of 3½-inch HD floppy disks (the part that covers the exposed disk). I cut and mold every blade (20 of them) by hand. - For the N1 gauge I used an ammeter from an old record player, an electromagnet, 4 magnets and 4 diodes connected in a bridge configuration to convert the AC generated to DC. - I made the exterior with body filler, the same used for cars, and a lot of sanding and paint. I recorded the first part video over a year ago, and drop the project. But recently I created the housing and did a few improvements so I posted this 2nd video. For instructions on how to build a similar jet engine model, go here: https://sites.google.com/site/interlinkknight/jet-engine If you like my model jet, you might also like my V8 Engine Working Model https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2LqtCjqjEU FAQ 1. How much thrust does it make? None. Is just a model/toy 2. Is just a fan, right? Yes, is just a fan. 3. Why call it a jet engine if is a fan? Is a model/toy of a turbofan jet engine. Is a representation of an airliner engine. 4. Any plans to put it on an RC airplane? No, because it doesn't generate any thrust (by design). 5. Instructions on how to build it? Scratch built foam trainer rc plane - the "B-one"
This is one of the first of many r/c planes i have built in a quest to teach myself to fly. After having previously flown a couple store-bought planes when i was younger only to have them crash within 10 second of flight - i decided perhaps i would be better off trying to build one myself...Not because building one would make it fly better but more that if i crashed it at least i would know how to rebuild it or repair it. Since building my first plane 4 or so months ago (this plane), it has become an addiction. There is something rewarding about building something from scratch and seeing it actually work as it was intended to. Hence, the reason I am making this channel. About the plane: -46" wingspan -1050kv motor -25amp esc w/ bec -Turnigy 9x tx/rx -4 Turnigy 9g servos Overall, it flies pretty well and i am quite happy with it. It is primarily made out of poster board with the landing gear and motor mount consisting of plastic I cut out of a garbage bin. You may be wondering why it is called the "b-1".. well basically, the colour scheme of this plane was meant to be yellow and blue (like bananas in pyjamas) i just never got around to colouring it! The plane was also filmed on a winters morning in Bendigo, Vic. Side note: Sorry for the quality of the camera. I plan on putting up more, higher quality videos of my r/c planes in the future as well as little tips on how i built them etc. I'm not flying as much atm due to the bird mating season. They attack my planes like crazy and have already hit a few out of the sky. Perhaps, i will also film this if they are still doing this next time i fly :P! Anyways, thanks for watching. If you have any questions or want some plans etc, just message me :)

FPV49 V1 Maiden
This is the maiden flight of my 1,8kg FPV49 V1. What a great flyer, so easy to control and glides beautifully! I did break of the FT Elements motor mount with my close to earth manoeuvres. So I'll be getting a folding prop for flight no.2. Thank FpvTrond for a great build and plans.

Rc-Help Trainer Build Pt. 6 Installing The Motor & Servos
Join Us On The Forum! http://rc-help.com/forum.php Like Us On Facebook! http://facebook.com/Rc-Help Here is part 6 of the Rc-Help Trainer build. In this video will show you how to install the motor after drilling all of your holes then we will move onto installing the control horns, and finally the servos. I opted to go with the blue 9g servos since they match the scheme of the plane. I think they look pretty good and I hope you do to. In the next video we will get into placement of the ESC, battery, Rx and getting the control horns put on. As always, if you need any vinyl decals made up, let me know. We also have Official Rc-Help Shirts for sale in our store as well as Neck Straps to hold your Tx. RC Delta Wing - Design and Maiden
MORE INFO and NOTES and PDF's FOR THIS PLANE: PDF's: https://sites.google.com/site/projectflightd/ It is hard to get the center of gravity correct on this plane when the motor is in a pusher setup. I would NOT recommend making this a pusher, I have tried and had to use a large battery to get it to balance. That being said, I have made a 60 inch version of this wing and it is a pusher with no problems. This is an RC delta wing that I designed. It has a 30 inch wingspan (tip to tip), 11.5 inch root chord, 9 inch tip chord (including 2 inches of elevon), and 11 inches of sweep. The KFM2 airfoil is at 50% wing chord and is made of 1/2 inch wall insulation foam board (pink foam). Center of Gravity: 7 inches back from the front Make sure that you program expo on your transmitter for ailerons and elevator! I did about 30% on the aileron control and 40% on the elevator control and this worked great for me. Weight, without the battery: 260 grams (this is with the motor and ESC) Motor: Turnigy 2730 1500 kv - with an 8mm LightFlite Magic Motor Mount Prop: 8x4 ESC: 18A Volcano Exceed RC Battery: 1300 mAh 11.1v 3S 25C Servos: 9 gram T-Pro Receiver: Orange Rx DSM2 Compatible
