Although most of you are familiar with over-the-counter drugs, little is known about natural painkillers which actually improve gut health and still have the same powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
Painkillers such as ibuprofen and aspirin are great for headaches, menstrual cramps, and other pains. However, these same drugs have the capacity of damaging your gastric mucosa, which is the mucosal layer lining the stomach.
Although you may not hear about this on a daily basis, studies have shown that these over-the-counter drugs can even cause gastric lesions, which means big damage to your digestive system. This means that this natural painkiller is an ideal substitute for everything from menstrual cramps to headaches!
In addition, it has been shown that curcumin can regulate the immune system, all while encouraging the detoxification of our bodies – without adverse effects - which is much more than we can say about non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs!

There are two simple ways which I would like to present to you: either by consuming it in its natural form (through turmeric) or by taking a curcumin extract in supplement form. The latter is much more potent and has shown to be highly more effective for pain relief, immune regulation and detoxification properties
If you decide to go au naturel and take it through turmeric, you should note that bioavailability of curcumin is very low. In other words, even the right dosage may not the doing the proper job, as the biological availability of curcumin is very low within your body. However, by eating curcumin in combination with both fat and black pepper, you can actually increase the bioavailability of it in your body. Another thing to note is that turmeric stains everything bright orange – so please be careful. I’ve ruined many, many clothing articles trying to use turmeric, and finally I switched to the better way: supplementation.
Supplementation, in my opinion, is both more portable and practical: an all-natural curcumin extract designed for pain relief. This is much more effective, and, if you are going with a trusted supplement, they will often include black pepper and/or fat already, to make the supplement even more powerful. The advised therapeutic dosage is 700 – 1400mg 1-2x daily to not only achieve all-natural pain relief, but also to achieve the benefits for your immune system, detoxification, and even contribute to the prevention of chronic illness.
