In most cases this is due to an underlying low blood sugar problem (hypoglycemia). I suggest you do a one and a half meal first. This includes a salad or vegetables or a kale shake as the half meal. Consuming this high fiber meal will get you through to your main bog meal. If you need to add a bit of fat with that like olives or salad dressing - go for it. Fat and vegetables are the 2 things that do not trigger insulin like protein and other carbs - BUT because of your stomach digesting it - there will be a small amount of insulin release. The other thing to remember is to get more SLEEP as poor sleep can greatly effect your blood sugars and insulin. You can have that 1 cup of coffee in the am, and tea throughout the day. Make sure at your big meal you add fat, apple cider vinegar and even more potassium (electrolytes) and b-vitamins (nutritional yeast). This is a balance of enough versus too much and getting your sweet spot (no pun intended). If you have hypoglycemia (low blood sugars) you will need a bit more to go from one meal to the next. However, you also need to make sure you do not have too much, thus overloading the gallbladder and causing (bloating, right shoulder pain, etc). Also, if you consume too much fat, esp. between meals or after meals, you will end up burning dietary fat and NOT your own fat despite being in ketosis. This is why I recommend always doing intermittent fasting with ketosis. So in other words - you'll have to adjust your fats until it's just right - no gallbladder issues, but allowing you to go from one meal to the next. Hypoglycemia is anything under *70*. But with a blood ketone reading of *2.8mmol/L* and having been fat-adapted for months, I'm playing a different ballgame now, and honestly felt great at the time. New and old research also shows that this sometimes happens when some humans get deeper into ketosis. Let's take a look: 1. So I am going to try to keep blood sugar over 60 and ketones between 1.5 to 2.0, since that's where I FEEL GOOD -- but this is NOT based off of ANY medical advise!!! That's just what I like! We cannot give advise, so talk to your doctor immediately if you have an issue. Were I to have both low blood sugar and low ketone numbers, I would IMMEDIATELY eat sugar and call paramedics. I do not have any safe range recommendations though. If you get all your nutrients, it is not starvation, it's a super healthy eating plan. Doing this will not just help you lose weight (belly fat), but help you achieve autophagy, which is cleaning up all the damaged cellular parts and bacterial residue (mold, fungus, virus, candida and bacteria). It is anti-aging and will help your body proteins. You want to transition to 1 meal per day gradually, starting with three meals a day, then two and then one - ensure you do not snack. Our current eating in society is based on keeping your blood sugars up and preventing low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). When doing 1x per day intermittent fasting, make sure you also do keto (ketogenic diet) and not do junk food. Doing 3 meals a day with snacking is not good for your health and will not help you lose weight even if you eat healthy because every time you eat, you increase insulin.
