How to Lesson Plan for Multiple Subjects

09:01
Teacher tips on how to lesson plan for multiple subjects, made easy :) As an elementary school teacher, I have a multiple subject credential. I'm constantly lesson planning multiple subjects, so here’s a deeper look into how I lesson plan. I also include a demo of one of my 5th grade math lessons (partial quotients, yay) & give you examples for the following subjects: *Math *Writing *Spelling *Vocabulary *Grammar SIDE NOTE: Partial Quotients is just a different way of dividing. It’s very helpful for students who still struggle with their multiplication facts and (therefore) struggle with dividing. Teacher Vocabulary: *Inquiry-based learning is based on posing questions to entice your learners. *Direct instruction is when teachers are directly informing students of what to do/what they need to know. Our other 5th grade teacher covers Literature & History! Sometimes I still feel like a first year teacher, but I hope you find these lesson planning tips useful! Follow me! I’m always open to questions :) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mayaleex3/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/mayaleex3 Music Creds: Together by ikson: http://www.soundcloud.com/ikson Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/SHao5nTg8R4

What is a task? Planning tasks with a purpose by Julie Cuttance

15:32
Communicative. Meaningful. Purposeful. These are terms that we often hear and use when planning lessons so how can put them into practice into our everyday teaching? What can we learn from Task Based Learning (TBL) to help plan tasks that are communicative and have clear outcomes. This talk is a practical look at applying purpose to speaking tasks for learners to get real world value from classroom based activities. Julie is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and has worked as a teacher and CELT Teacher Trainer at the Bridge Mills Galway Language Centre since 2005. She has been working on CPD projects within the school over the past few years and is a stickler for checking instructions!

Fraction kits have been around for a while and many effective math teachers use them to help their students gain a stronger grasp of fractions. This video demonstrates my approach to creating a fraction kit and was designed to serve as a follow-along activity. Unlike our animated math lessons, this VLOG will walk you through a hands on, real world math activity that explores fractions, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, number sense, and even as a decimals introduction activity later on. This fun math activity is perfect for homeschool, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and middle school and even high school as well. The required materials for such math activities include construction paper, markers, scissors, and a ruler. Our lessons are perfect for flipped classroom math teachers and students.
