Lydian Dominant Licks - The Best Modern Arpeggios and Structures - Jazz Guitar Lesson

07:35
In the Lydian dominant sound you can access a lot of cool sounds and you can put it to use in modal situations, blues, tritone subs and IV minor chords. This video will give you some new ideas and non diatonic arpeggio structures to add to your Lydian dominant ideas. I will use 3 Lydian Dominant Guitar Licks to demonstrate how great the arpeggios work in the context of this sound! You can use the Lydian Dominant Scale as refreshing and surprising sounds besides the fact that you need for some of the chord progressions you will keep running into in jazz standards and originals. All the examples in this lesson are using an A7(#11) as the Lydian dominant. The Lydian dominant scale that goes with this chord is the 4th degree of the E melodic minor scale. 🔴 Subscribe for more free Jazz Guitar Lessons and Videos: https://bit.ly/JensLessons ☑️ Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jenslarsen/ ✅DOWNLOAD A FREE E-BOOK with 15 II Valt I licks! IMPROVISATION: Major Mode Soloing

This Video: September 18, 2015 | Search Videos by Title/Date. THIS VIDEOS TAB's + LESSON PLAN available on: Sunday Sept. 20, 2015 at: http://www.andrewwasson.com/ Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers a viewers question... Q: My guitar studies have been focused around playing blues and also classic rock. Now, I'm trying to solo over major sounds. The Ionian mode is coming along, but I'm lost on using Lydian and Mixolydian. Would you consider making a video covering these modes? I want to develop the ability to solo over these Major Modes. Thanks Andrew. Josh - Colorado Springs, Colorado USA A: These major mode sounds will definitely take on a very unique color as compared to the basic Major Scale. However, what's most important here is the approach taken to develop these ideas. As you saw through the lesson, I began by comparing the mode I wanted to use, to its parent major scale. This allows us to quickly understand the structure of the chords that make up the mode, but directly related to the mode tonic note. Once we're aware of this idea, we can start analyzing tones and creating chord progressions. In this lesson I'm going to place the focus upon our major modes. With the Lydian & the Mixolydian being the primary modes that I'll cover. To get started, we'll do some modal music theory. After that, we'll head to the guitar and jam on a few ideas covering both harmony & melody concepts. Expert Level. For Steel Structures. Lesson 09: Internal Forces in Beams. Don’t Forget to comment, like and subscribe to our channel Welcome to Autodesk Robot 2016. Level IV. For Steel Structures. Seismic Modal Analysis. The modal spectral analysis is and advantageous method for determining the displacements and forces in the elements of a structural system. This method implies the calculation of the maximum displacement values and accelerations on each mode using a design spectrum, and which represents the average of the spectrum answers, for several types of seisms. Autodesk Robot provides a full quadratic combination (CQC method), which considers la correlation between maximum modal values. In this fashion, the most probable displacement and force values affecting the structure are obtained. Autodesk Robot utilizes de Newmark-Hall method for the construction of an elastic spectrum design from the type of soil and maximum accelerations, speed and soil displacements. And in this fashion obtaining a series of load cases and combinations, thus allowing the engineer to review the design obtaining a truly seism resistant structure according to the corresponding regulations and local design codes. Autodesk Robot possess one of the most advanced and friendly structural analysis interfaces, allowing to work with virtually any design code and regulation around the world. Furthermore, Autodesk Robot will automatically design and calculate the connections between each member of the structure, based upon different load cases and combinations; for both stat and dynamic load cases. This course includes Professional Online Consultancy for each and every of the subjects cover in it.

IMHOTEP - Immersive Medical Hands-On Operation Teaching and Planning System

01:54
IMHOTEP is an operation planning and teaching system. It allows surgeons to view segmented patient organs, target structures (tumors) and risk structures (vessels) in an immersive virtual 3D scene. The basis are segmented CT or MRI scans of the patient organs. The virtual scene is rendered using a head-mounted display allowing visualizations in true 3D rather than a simple 2D projection. In this way, the surgeons will know exactly where to cut and how to reach the tumors with the smallest possible risk for the patient. The project is conducted within the setting of the “SFB TRR 125 Cognition-Guided Surgery”, a collaboration between KIT, the University Hospital of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center. „It is further sponsored by the Karl-Steinbuch-Scholarship, MFG Foundation Baden-Württemberg.“ ***** IMHOTEP ist ein chirurgisches Operationsplanungs- und Lehrsystem.

Thus far, we can break everything in the universe down to a few very small elementary particles. But they fit into strange patterns that are not understood. Some scientists believe that this is because we can go deeper - perhaps to simple vibrating strings! At TEDYouth 2012, Clifford Johnson describes these ideas, along with the concept of string theory. They Are Billions is a strategy game in a distant future about building and managing human colonies after a zombie apocalypse destroyed almost all of human kind. Now there are only a few thousand humans left alive that must struggle to survive under the threat of the infection. Billions of infected roam around the world in massive swarms seeking the last living human colonies. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • They Are Billions Gameplay Features: Survival mode In this mode, a random world is generated with its own events, weather, geography, and infected population. You must build a successful colony that must survive for a specific period of time against the swarms of infected. It is a fast and ultra addictive game mode. We plan to release a challenge of the week where all players must play the same random map. The best scores will be published in a leaderboard. "The Progressive Income Tax" is one of those economic terms that gets bandied about, but few actually know what it means or how it works. This tale of three similar brothers with three different incomes (but one shared expense) helps explain the tax system under which we live. Adapted from an article by noted investor and economist, Kip Hagopian, and narrated by actress Carolyn Hennesy of "General Hospital" and "True Blood" fame, this animated story will change the way you think about how you pay your taxes.  Donate today to PragerU! http://l.prageru.com/2ylo1Yt Joining PragerU is free! They were raised in the same home, with the same parents, had the same IQ, same skills and same opportunities. Each was married and had two children. They were all carpenters making $25 per hour. While they were very similar in all these respects, they had different priorities. For example, Tom, chose to work 20 hours per week, while his brother, Dick worked 40 hours and Harry 60. It should also be noted that Harry's wife worked full time as an office manager for a salary of $50,000. Dick's wife sold real estate part time 10 hours a week and made $25,000 per year. Tom's wife did not work. Tom and Dick spent all of their family income. Since they paid into Social Security they figured, they didn't need to save for retirement. Harry and his wife, on the other hand, had, over many years, put away money each month and invested it in stocks and bonds. Here's how it worked out: Tom made $25,000 a year, Dick and his wife made $75,000 and Harry and his wife, $150,000. When a new housing development opened up in their community, the brothers decided to buy equally-priced homes on the same private street. One day the brothers decided to pool their funds for the purpose of improving their street. Concerned about crime and safety, and wanting a more attractive setting for their homes, the three families decided to install a security gate at the street's entrance; repave the street's surface; and enhance the lighting and landscaping. The work was done for a total cost of $30,000. Harry assumed they would divide the bill three ways, each brother paying $10,000. But Tom and Dick objected. "Why should we pay the same as you?" they said. "You make much more money than we do." Harry was puzzled. "What does that have to do with anything?" he asked. "My family makes more money because my wife and I work long hours, and because we have saved some of the money we've earned to make additional money from investments. Why should we be penalized for that?" "Harry, you can work and save all you like" Tom countered. "But my wife and I want to enjoy ourselves now, not 25 years from now." "Fine, Tom. Do what you want. It's a free country. But why should I have to pay for that? "I can't believe your being so... unbrotherly," Tom argued. "You have a lot of money and I don't. I thought you'd be more generous." At this point, Dick, the peacemaker in the family, entered the conversation. "I've got an idea," Dick said. "Our combined income is $250,000, and $30,000 is 12 percent of that amount. Why don't we each pay that percentage of our income? Under that formula, Tom would pay $3,000, I would pay $9,000, and Harry would pay $18,000." "I have a much better idea," said Tom. "And one that's fairer than what you're proposing." For the complete script, visit https://www.prageru.com/videos/progressive-income-tax-tale-three-brothers

Behind the Scenes: How We Build Courses

09:12
Have you ever thought about creating an online course? Online Courses are a great way to earn an income from sharing your expertise with others. But figuring out how to get started planning and creating a course can be a bit overwhelming. Read full post - https://goo.gl/7BYcEn I’ve spent the past several years creating a process for building online courses. Today, we’ll go behind the scenes of that proprietary process. I’ll share how we go from a rough outline of our course plan to a finished product. And I’ll detail each step in the production of our courses. Today’s post leads up to our final Behind the Scenes episode next week when we go inside our online course platform. Building online courses Our primary revenue source at Jefflalytics is online training programs. We have developed one to two classes per year, every year since 2015. The training programs we currently offer include: PPC Course PPC Course teaches students how to master profit-driven advertising on Google AdWords. This program also helps students achieve their AdWords professional certification. Analytics Course Analytics Course provides students with a 360-degree overview of Google Analytics. It also teaches them how to set up Google Analytics to work for their business needs. And it helps our members achieve their Google Analytics professional certification. Agency Course Agency Course is a comprehensive business program for agencies, freelancers, and consultants. In this program, students learn how to scale and create more profit in their business using our tried and tested agency growth frameworks. Sales Jumpstart Sales Jumpstart teaches students how to get new clients for their agency and freelance business. In this program, we focus on sales and lead generation. And we teach students how to crack the million dollar barrier. This training is currently an add-on to Agency Course. More coming soon! The 90-day challenge has helped us refine our recording, writing, and editing skills. So we plan on producing new courses with more efficiency than we ever have before. Look for more of our premium training programs, coming soon! How do we create a course that people want? To date, our courses have been successful. We have over 5,000 students in each of our PPC and Analytics courses. Agency Course and Sales Jumpstart launched this past November. So far over 200 students have joined this program. But before any of these courses launched, it took months of thinking about what content I should include and how to best structure the course for maximum learning. Then we surveyed our email lists and asked our subscribers what type of courses they wanted us to create. After we validated our course concept with our audience, we spent months planning the structure of our classes. Months recording and editing videos. Months of writing course materials. And years marketing the finished products. How we build online courses Let’s talk about the work that goes into creating a full online training program. I have broken down our online course building process into ten steps. 1. Develop a rough outline The rough outline is mostly a brain dump of my initial thoughts about the main topics in each course. Below is an example of my first outline for Sales Jumpstart. I spent two to three months thinking about this course before I put anything on paper. I thought about the structure of the course, and all the things people need to know to have a great sales organization. It took a while to figure out how to summarize all skills I have learned during the ten plus years I have been selling services as agency marketer. The challenge is to turn this knowledge into something that’s easy to follow, easy to digest, and people can use in their own business. 2. Build the lesson research outline Below is an example of our lesson outline for Sales Jumpstart. When I build the lesson outline, I like to think of how the course will flow. This outline was modified about three months after I created our rough brain dump. The research outline isn’t quite a lesson plan yet. But, it adds more depth, and it starts to map out the real substance of the topics in the course. 3. Research and build out our lesson slide decks The slide decks go through a similar process to our course outlines. We start with a very rough draft, just to get some material in place. Then we research and flush each slide in our deck in preparation for the production phase. 4. Get into production mode When we’re in production mode, we finalize our course templates, so our materials start to feel and look like a finished product. We also finalize our production decks and develop a script for each lesson in the course.

Tech Education Entrepreneur Helps Inner City Students Tap Ingenuity Via Workshops In Public Schools

06:34
Khalilah Webster is a tech education entrepreneur in the New York City area, where she helps promote and sell educational workshops designed to bring under-served public school students into the future. As CEO, co-founder and executive director of the Open Door Arts-in-Education Project (ODAEP), Webster provides a programming model that teams up technology, entrepreneurship, arts, and mentoring. About 6,000 adolescents and young adults -- many in the inner city -- are enrolled in ODAEP's enrichment workshops at up to 50 public schools, Webster told Moguldom.com on the sidelines at the Black Enterprise TechConnext Summit in San Francisco. The Open Door Arts-in-Education Project fosters innovation and achievement. Workshops include entrepreneurship education, technical skills building, financial literacy, leadership development and exposure to the arts. The goal is to inspire and equip students to make full use of their creative ingenuity towards life-long success. One of the tech workshops features virtual reality in partnership with Microsoft. Through the program, students are able to code. "Theyre building an environment that's virtual. That's something that's different. thats something that's new," Webster said. Webster's job is to implement the programs and bring teaching artists into schools who can share their knowledge of industry in the classroom. Webster structures the curriculum, lesson plans, and ensures they're aligned with the common core of NYC public schools.
