Reflection and Refraction of light - Introduction for kids
The best and the biggest channel for science videos for kids. Light can bounce off when it hits objects and it can bend also while passing through from one medium to another. When we look in a mirror, we can see ourselves because the light shining on our body is reflected from the mirror back to our eyes. If you put a pencil in a glass of water, you will find that the pencil appears bent from the point it enters the water. This experiment proves the property of reflection of light. In this elementary science educational video kindergarten kids, preschoolers, and primary school children can learn science of light and more.

Light | Videos for Kids | It's AumSum Time
Our topic for today is Introduction to Light. Light is a form of energy that enables us to see all the things around us. The main source of light on the earth is the sun. Plants are able to prepare their own food using sunlight. Some other objects also give out light. They are known as luminous objects. For example, bulbs, lamps, candles, etc. are luminous objects. While there are some objects that do not give out light. They are known as non luminous objects. For example table, cloth, bag, utensils, etc. are non luminous objects. Non luminous objects are generally of two types, transparent objects and opaque objects. Transparent objects are those that allow light to pass through them, like glass, water etc. While, Opaque objects are those that do not allow light to pass through them, like wood, stone etc.

Photography Lighting Lesson - Remember the EGG
Before you can learn 'how" to light, you must learn how to 'SEE" light. I will walk you through a defining moment in my career and how a simple egg, changed the way I approach lighting and photography forever. Watch closely as the light travels slowly around the egg. You may want to replay this part a few times to watch how the shape of the egg changes, the shadow shape and depth changes and the shade and tone of the background changes. In the second example the light simply moves from front to back beginning at the camera like an on camera flash and traveling over the top of the egg towards the background. Now do you understand the importance of the egg? If you are going to photograph the human face and form, the lessons the egg teaches us are invaluable. "Salt & Light" lesson intro
Introduction I made for a lesson in one of my Youth Ministry classes. It is designed for a 30-minute lesson about the "Salt & Light" passage in Matthew 5:13-16, for a middle/high-school age youth group. The basic idea is that you start looking at a small flame illuminating a room, and slowly zoom out from that small room, showing that that small flame only illuminates a small area of a bigger picture. The idea is to show the question about whether or not you are being a light to the whole world, or just a certain area. As the camera zooms out, some questions relevant to our lesson appear, and they are then asked to the audience, who try to make initial observations. After that, the lesson progresses to address those questions, or at least provide a better understanding of the purpose of the lesson. This animation was made on a Apple Macbook Pro in the Apple Motion (version 5) program. This was made in one night (I ran out of other ideas for the Attention part of the lesson), and was finished in the morning during a practice. Some effects I was not able to add were flickering and/or shadow effects, as well as better text-placement, and camera movement.

Refraction Of Light
Follow us at: https://twitter.com/TutorVista Check us out at http://www.tutorvista.com/content/science/science-ii/refraction-light/introduction.php Refraction of Light Refraction of light is the phenomenon of bending of a light wave when it enters into a medium from another where the speed of light is different. If the light wave passes from a medium where speed is fast to a medium where the speed is slow the light wave bends towards the normal between the two medium and vice-verse. The extent to which bending takes place when the light enters from one medium to another medium depends on the speed of light in two medium. This is also calculate in terms of refractive index for media and is described quantitatively by Snell's law Please like our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/tutorvista

Light Travels in Straight Lines
In this lesson we introduce some of the properties of light. Firstly, we look at how light travels in straight lines by exploring solar eclipses. A solar eclipse happens when the moon moves between the earth and the sun and the sun's rays are then unable to reach the earth. Some traditional myths and beliefs regarding eclipses are also explored in this lesson. Simple ray diagrams are drawn to help explain how the light has travelled in a straight line. To further explain how light travels in straight lines, a simple pin-hole camera is constructed and the image formed is studied. We suggest that the learners build their own pin-hole cameras during the lesson in order to carry out their own investigations. We begin a debate about the nature of light. Light can either be modelled as a wave or as a stream of particles. We suggest that you get learners to form their own opinions (which they need to justify) about these ideas. We suggest you continue this debate throughout the series.

Laws of Reflection | It's AumSum Time
Our topic for today is Laws of Reflection. Consider this ray of light which strikes a mirror. This ray of light is called the incident ray. The point at which the incident ray strikes the mirror is called point of incidence. Draw a line perpendicular to the mirror through the point of incidence. This line is called Normal. The angle which the incident ray makes with the normal is called the angle of incidence. When this ray strikes the mirror, it will bounce off the mirror. This ray which bounces off is called the reflected ray. The angle which the reflected ray makes with the normal is called angle of reflection. Now, let us study the 2 laws of reflection. The angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of reflection. If the angle of incidence is 30 degrees, then the angle of reflection will also be 30 degrees. Remember that, these angles are always measured from the normal, not from the mirror. The incident ray, the normal at the point of incidence and the reflected ray, all lie in the same plane.
