Multivitamin Research: Should You Be Taking Them? - Thomas DeLauer

I'm talking about potentially ditching your multivitamins, if you're not someone that actually needs it. This video came to light simply because a lot of people that have talked to and a lot of people that I've worked with, have had a very, very hard time letting go of their multivitamins. They take these multivitamins and they see them as their crutch. They see them as the end all be all and their link to healthy eating or the void fill from the nutrients that they're missing from their food. But the reality is there's a lot more to just popping a multivitamin and getting your vitamins and minerals in. So first off what I want to look at is the fact that 50% of Americans take a multivitamin. That is a lot, a lot of people that are misled. A lot of people are leading themselves to believe that they're getting all their vitamins and minerals and getting what they need from a simple pill. Also in reality, we have to look at how much money is being spent. We're talking like $11 billion dollars that people are spending on multivitamins. That's a lot of money. Okay, so let's talk about what is happening with a multivitamin and why it may not be the best thing for you. I'm not discounting it. I'm not saying that everyone should avoid taking a multivitamin. There are some subcategories of people that might want to take them, but I want to talk about some reality when it comes down to just popping that pill. First thing I want to look at is too many nutrients, okay? The simple thing is we have to look at this. If our bodies have the ability to take in all these minerals and all of these vitamins at once, don't you think there would be a food out there that truly encompasses all of them? You see, normally we have to eat different subcategories of foods to ultimately make up our nutrients. Now, if it was so easy as just popping a pill, I think that a lot more people would be really, truly healthy and if it was really possible to absorb all those vitamins and minerals at once, I think we'd have some foods that contain all those vitamins and minerals. We have to remember that we require specific enzymatic functions to truly synthesize and utilize different vitamins, minerals, and metals within the body. Each vitamin that we take in each mineral that we take in has a different process to actually being utilized and if we take them all in at once, we're not really allowing the body to do that efficiently. You're much better off knowing what is going to work for you and isolating specific vitamins and specific minerals for your type, for your bio individuality. So the thing we have to look at with multivitamins and we have this constant competition going on. Okay? We have constant competition of different minerals that sometimes need to be elevated and sometimes need to be lower, but we also have way too much of specific minerals. References: 1) Inc., G. 5 Foods To Eat To Quickly Gain Weight and Muscle

04:17
Sick and tired of being called skinny and weak? Looking for a sure way to gain weight or add muscle? If so, this video is just for you! Yes, we know just how hard it can be to buff up — it can even be as difficult as losing weight! But hey, there's good news — you can successfully gain weight and muscle; that's only if you can give yourself to eating the right foods. So what foods are we talking about? Well, there are a whole lot of foods that can help but this video will let you in on five of the best. More like the ones that can increase your chances of getting your dream body in no time. Let's check them out! 1. Milk Taking the first place is milk — an excellent choice for anyone looking to gain weight and build muscle. Of course, milk has been here for decades and the good thing is, it never fails to deliver. For the most part, this food is chock full of protein making it perfect for those trying to add more muscle. What's more, milk is a great source of calcium, vitamins and other essential minerals. Just focus on drinking a glass or two after your workout session — you'll definitely see results! 2. Protein Smoothies — Stick with Homemade Looking for a sure, quick and highly nutritious way to gain weight? If so, we'll recommend give protein smoothies a shot. And oh, we know you might be considering store-bought protein shakes, but trust us, making yours will be much better. The thing is, those commercial versions are typically loaded with sugar and also lack nutrients. Remember — we're looking to gain weight and muscle the healthy way; no diversions! The good news? There are a whole lot of super tasty variations you can try — just do your homework, mix and start drinking! 3. Red Meats Yes, red meats also happen to be on our list — in fact, they're one of the best muscle-building foods right now. For the most part, red meats contain dietary creatine; an amazing muscle-building supplement. And oh, if you're a big fan of steak, you'll be happy to hear that it contains leucine; about 3 grams per 6 ounces. Essentially, leucine is an essential amino acid the body needs to stimulate muscle protein synthesis and add new muscle tissue. But what if you're just looking to add some weight? Well, red meats are perfect for you; they contain the right amount of fat and calories! In fact, they're way better than lean meats in this regard. Don't hesitate to eat up! 4. Nuts and Nut Butters Nuts and nut butter — both are just perfect for your weight gain journey. First off, nuts are chock full of calories. In fact, eating just two handfuls a day as a snack can quickly add hundreds of calories. And if you're considering almonds, you'll be happy to hear that just a small handful contain more than 7 grams of protein and 18 grams of healthy fats. What more could you ask for? As for nut butter, you can choose to get some (preferably 100% nut butter) and add to whatever snack that tickles your fancy. 5. Rice Last but definitely not the least is rice — just a single serving can give you a high amount of carbs and calories. It's also good to know that rice is super easy to consume and digest. But be careful though, some types of rice are high in arsenic; a chemical element that can cause metal toxicity. And oh, once you prepare your rice, don't forget to add some protein and healthy fats to the mix — you'll be incredibly glad you did! And that's it! Five highly nutritious foods that can increase your chances of buffing up, gaining weight and looking great. Now it's up to you to make your pick and eat up! ▶ Subscribe to the channel! - https://goo.gl/nJ8d6r Royalty free Pictures from www.pixabay.com www.pexels.com Royalty Free Music from Audio Library – No Copyright Music

The Supplement Timeline (What Age - Which Supplements!)

15:14
Stop taking supplements you can’t trust. Get Jeff Cavaliere’s exact supplements here http://athleanx.com/x/supplements-trusted-to-deliver When it comes to taking supplements, there are a lot of questions as to when you should begin taking them and which ones are better than others. I think you have to start by breaking down the nutritional supplements into categories. In this video, I categorize multivitamins, specialty vitamins, protein powders, pre workouts, creatine, BCAA’s, creatine, omega-3’s and joint recovery formulas. Each group is discussed in relation to one of four age brackets regarding their appropriateness. All of the supplements discussed are ones that I take myself and would recommend to others. You will not see any testosterone boosters or pro hormones because I don’t believe in them or recommend them to my viewers. Even the pre workout supplements must undergo severe scrutiny based on the dangers that have been shown to riddle that product category for the past couple of years. All that said however, I make it very clear that any supplementation plan must start with a commitment to good nutrition. If you think that you are going to make up for a bad diet by taking supplements you are flat out fooling yourself, and likely wasting a lot of money. Supplements are meant to supplement a good nutrition plan. When you have a dedication to eating well, not perfect, but well…supplements can be a savior and a huge difference maker as they really help with the consistency needed to see great results. Some manufacturers want you to believe that their supplement will help you overcome poor nutrition. They will make you think that you can simply sleep your way to a six pack. It’s laughable and dishonest to say the least. The hard truth of the matter is that high quality nutrition is a must if you want to really see the fastest and best results possible. That said, ATHLEAN-X is committed to both proper nutrition and high quality, safe supplements. Through our X-Factor meal plan, available in the ATHLEAN-X Training System, and the Rx supplements we provide our program followers with all the tools needed to make a big difference in how they look in just 90 days. If you want to get either or both, you can head to http://athleanx.com and start eating and training like an athlete. Where would we find them in a typical grocery store or are they—can you find them in a grocery store? G. Edward Griffin: Oh yeah, they’re there. It’s main job is to increase the absorption or calcium in the intestines by 20x. It’s a calcium mobilize and should never be taken alone. Always take vitamin K2 with D3 in a ratio of D3 10,000 IUs/K2 100 mcg. This is because vitamin K2 works with vitamin D to fully transport calcium to the bones. Taking vitamin D3 benefits you by itself by filing up the arteries and joints with excess calcium. Warning Signs That You're Zinc Deficient

05:53
For more info: https://draxe.com/zinc-deficiency/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Feb-2015&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=zincdeficient Today I’m going to share with you the five warning signs that you’re zinc deficient. About 75% of people in the world are deficient, so being deficient in zinc is very common. The 5 warning signs you’re zinc deficient: 1.) If you get sick a lot or have immune system issues 2.) Have leaky gut (http://draxe.com/7-signs-symptoms-you-have-leaky-gut/) 3.) If you struggle with diarrhea or IBS 4.) Thinning hair 5.) Inflammatory skin issues like acne, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis One of the biggest factors in causing zinc deficiency is high levels of emotional stress. The second most common cause of zinc deficiency is over-exercise. The third most common reason your zinc deficient is if you’re pregnant or breast feeding. Lastly, if you’re older, you may tend to have malabsorption, which causes a zinc deficiency. In order to get more zinc in your diet, you need to consume more zinc-rich foods. The top 5 zinc-rich foods are pumpkin seeds, oysters, grass-fed beef, sprouted nuts and seeds, and peas. Additionally, probiotics are a key supplement to take when zinc deficient because it can help your overall absorption of nutrients. For more information on zinc deficiency, you can check out this article: http://draxe.com/zinc-deficiency/ *This content is strictly the opinion of Dr. Josh Axe, and is for informational and educational purposes only. How to eat and lose weight? How to stay slim without diets or gym? There are foods you can eat without risk of gaining weight. Let’s be honest; it’s hard to resist cravings for tasty food when you’re on a strict diet. You feel hungry all the time, and when you open the fridge, it’s almost impossible to fight the temptation to grab something unhealthy! However, there are foods you can eat without risk of gaining weight. Can you imagine eating popcorn at any time and in any quantity?! To figure out how that’s possible, watch our list of foods that will never make you fat. TIMESTAMPS Celery 0:44 Arugula 1:15 Egg whites 1:38 Salad 2:09 Cucumbers 2:41 Cauliflower 3:12 Tomatoes 4:00 Broccoli 4:27 Oranges 4:55 Kale 5:19 Sugar snap peas 5:43 Grapefruit 6:03 Melon 6:26 Strawberries 6:46 Blackberries 7:10 Popcorn 7:28 Blueberries 7:54 SUMMARY - Celery has anti-allergic and antiseptic properties. This plant can improve your digestion and overall health. - There are only 10 calories in 2 cups of arugula. It helps you get slimmer without damaging your health. - Scientists found that eggs keep you feeling full for longer periods than foods that contain more carbs. Mix the whites with a few tomatoes and get the healthiest omelet ever! - Salad is packed with vitamins A and C as well as folic acid and iron. It’s practically devoid of calories (10 to 20 calories, depending on the type). - Fresh, crunchy cucumbers have significant health benefits. The skin of a cucumber contains most of its nutritional value, particularly beta-carotene, which is good for your eyes. - Cauliflower is an excellent source of vitamins C and K. Also, it contains only 25 calories. - One tomato has about 25 calories. Tomatoes are full of lycopene, vitamins A, C, and B2, folic acid, fiber, chromium, and potassium.  - Broccoli contains 31 calories, and it is one of the favorite foods of those who want to lose weight. - Oranges are one of the most delicious fruits. They are best known for their vitamin C content. By the way, the white stuff under the orange skin, the pith, is really good for you. - Kale, like any other edible seaweed, contains a large amount of iodine and it’s almost devoid of calories. It has about 32 calories. - Sugar snap peas are very low in calories: a cup of peas contains around 35 calories. - Grapefruits help to stabilize blood sugar levels. They’re full of vitamin C, and, due to their low caloric value, they can help you reduce those extra inches around your waist. - Melon contains over half the recommended daily value of vitamins A and C and only 55 calories. Melon is also very useful for preventing flu and improving the immune system. - Strawberries are rich in potassium and fiber and have an anti-inflammatory effect. It sounds surprising, but a couple of strawberries contain as much vitamin C as an orange. - Blackberries are full of antioxidants and vitamin C. Also, they have an amazing taste. - One cup of air-popped popcorn will never affect your body. This “movie snack” mostly consists of air, and you can enjoy eating it without fear of gaining extra weight. - Blueberries have more antioxidants than any other fruit. Therefore, a cup of blueberries will help you balance your diet.  What helps you control your weight and stay in shape? The Truth about Magnesium & Copper: Food Industry Secrets- Thomas DeLauer

09:54
The Truth about Magnesium & Copper: Food Industry Secrets- Thomas DeLauer.. http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com - More Information on How to be Your Best Self Check out my Favorite Magnesium Brand at: http://www.JigsawHealth.com Magnesium is a mineral that many of us are deficient in because of the standard American diet. The numerous ways that magnesium deficiency are detrimental to health are many and with deeper understanding, the list continues to grow. -Impacts nerve and muscle health There are 18 essential minerals that play roles in all of our body processes. There are 4 that are of particular importance for liver and body health and balance: magnesium, calcium, iron and copper. These 4 are so important because much of our adverse health problems are caused by too much iron and too little magnesium. Magnesium and calcium act together as counterbalances. For example: -Mg calms cells, Ca excites them -Mg necessary to relax muscles, Ca (in concert with potassium) cause muscles to contract -Mg plays a role in keeping blood flowing; Ca is involved in blood clotting -Ca contributes to bone hardness: Mg found mostly in soft body structures -Ca is involved in the fight-or-flight response and in inflammation; Mg is involved in balancing this through calm and reducing inflammation It follows that if we are stressed, maybe caused by work, life, or even extreme exercise, we need plenty of magnesium to regain balance. Magnesium burn rate is the rate at which we burn magnesium. It appears that this rate increases as we age. The idea is to fix mitochondrial functioning through the balancing of magnesium, calcium, iron and copper. Why these four minerals? We have already discussed the importance of calcium and magnesium, so now we should understand iron and copper. Iron is the #1 most abundant mineral on earth. As we go through life, we accumulate iron. Mg and Fe fight over available oxygen. These two mineral events criss-cross at about 40 - when much of the illness, aches and pains kick in. This is largely due to excess iron and deficient magnesium. Iron oxide is involved in the aging processes inside of our mitochondria. It changes enzymatic pathways and can cause a lack of ATP, which our bodies need to function! ATP doesn’t work unless it is complexed with magnesium, which affects the functioning of 3700 proteins in the body. As we go through stress iron builds up in the liver, and as we age magnesium burn rate increases. This rate is also higher when we are under stress. Copper is another important mineral - you can’t make ATP unless you have bioavailable forms of copper. Copper is the mineral that makes sure that things are oxidized properly. Dr. Morley’s RCP: Concentrate on the stops and the starts to get this in balance. Stops: 1. Stop taking hormone/vitamin D a. V D stops the liver’s production of ceruloplasmin i. Low vitamin D due to low magnesium. Every facet of VD metabolism is magnesium dependent. Taking VD can make the situation worse 2. Stop taking calcium and iron supplements 3. Stop taking ascorbic acid 4. Stay clear of high fructose corn syrup and colors 5. Stop lowfat - have plenty of fat in the diet, it is important 6. Stop using industrialized oils based on omega-6 fats 7. Steer clear of fluoride - far reaching and profound effect 8. No multivitamins or prenatals 9. No citrate - disrupts liver’s ability to make ceruloplasmin 10. No colloidal silver - it impacts copper status (silver sits below copper on the periodic table) Starts: 1. Use cod liver oil 2. Start magnesium supplementation 3. Whole food vitamin c 4. Forms of B-vitamins from way of mother nature - bee pollen, rice bran, beef liver 5. Use silica - helps to pull aluminum out of the liver 6. Start ancestral diet 7. Take boron, taurine and iodine Learn to distinguish between functional and absolute iron deficiency - almost impossible to have a total shortage of iron, but you can have a shortage of functional iron. Happens when don’t have enough bioavailable copper. Anemia of chronic inflammation leads to low Mg, low ceruloplasmin, low serum iron, etc. Excess unbound iron will lead to a loss of magnesium due to pH of a cell to be too acidic which leads to magnesium loss which leads to inflammation. Inflammation is a clinical indication of deficient magnesium, which was originally determined in 1992 in a study on rats where magnesium deficient diets led to an increase in inflammatory markers. Inflammation is a gateway to many diseases. Additionally, pathogens feed on iron, so we do not want to have excess iron levels in our diet. References: 1. How to Overcome Adrenal Fatigue

06:58
For more info: https://draxe.com/3-steps-to-heal-adrenal-fatigue/?utm_campaign=Youtube-Nov-2014&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_term=adrenalfatigue In this video, I’m going to walk you through the steps to overcome adrenal fatigue. Most fatigue problems and adrenal insufficiency come from issues with the adrenal glands. About 80% of the population deals with this common problem. There are several warning signs that indicate you may have adrenal fatigue. If you struggle with fatigue, are stressed, anxious, have trouble with concentration, poor memory, thyroid issues, or gained mysterious weight, you may have adrenal fatigue. There are three steps you will want to take to get rid of adrenal fatigue for good. The first starts with your diet. Foods to get out of your diet are caffeine, sugar, and hydrogenated oils. Foods that are high in vitamin B12 and magnesium are going to support your adrenal glands and blood sugar levels, so you will want to add these foods into your diet. Foods like coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut, olives, olive oil, raw dairy products, grass-fed butter, organic meats, loads of vegetables, and seaweed are all crucial to your diet as well. Secondly, you will want to support your adrenals by taking supplements like adaptogenic herbs (such as ashwagandha, holy basil, and licorice root), which will help your body adapt and deal with stress. Additionally, a vitamin B complex, magnesium, vitamin D, selenium will support the healing of your adrenals. Lastly, you should focus on lowering your stress levels. Try getting 8-10 hours of sleep a night, reflect and address your stressors, add fun activities into your routine, and exercise. If you follow these three steps, you will be well on your way to naturally healing adrenal fatigue. 5 Supplements You SHOULD NEVER BUY!!!

08:40
These are the worst supplements not worth your money. Learn what to avoid and save for the best supplements available for weight loss and to gain muscle that are worth taking. If you're a beginner or if you're advanced watch this video to find out what to take and what not to take. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Challenge: https://gravitychallenges.com/home65d4f?utm_source=ytube&utm_term=buy Fat Loss Calculator: http://bit.ly/2oTEK1W Look a little over 5 years ago I was the guy that had every possible supplement that you could possibly imagine spread out on my counter. I was taking protein creatine glucosamine prostate supports liver support milk thistle fish oils, c.l.a.s digestive enzymes, just a whole bunch of stuff most of which I did not need at all. Unfortunately nobody was around to tell me that all the supplements that I bought were just leading to one thing and that was expensive pee. Seriously guys the supplement industry is huge. And there are a lot of products that you're told will help you build muscle or help you burn fat 3 times as fast but the truth is that most of these supplements are just gonna burn a whole in your wallet and you going to wind up spending money that you could have spent on good food that would actually get you way more results. Today I want to go over the top five BS supplements that you should stay away from. Let's start with number one liquid ketones. the reason why I wanted to mention liquid ketones first is because they're becoming more and more popular right now. The whole idea is that liquid ketones are supposed to help you enter ketosis faster so liquid ketones are really growing in popularity especially with the keto diet crowd. Unfortunately somebody should tell them that this supplements claims are just straight up lies. In order for your body to go into ketosis you have to restrict carb intake enough for your body to begin converting fat into ketones which will be used as energy. Simply put you're using fat as your primary source of fuel when you don't have any carbs. This process of using ketones for energy known as ketosis essentially allows people to Target their fat stores and burn more fat. Ketosis happens naturally when you take glycogen or carbs away from the body not when you add something in. Randomly adding in ketones into your body will not put you into a state of ketosis. Again ketosis leads to ketones, but ketones don't lead to ketosis. So when your body is in ketosis that leads to Natural Ketone production for fuel not the other way around. Adding in extra ketones for no reason will just give you extra fuel to burn before you start burning your own fat stores. Which was the whole point of taking the liquid ketones to begin with. It's actually really really stupid when you think about it. Anyway...Next up are massgainers That's right Massgainers are a complete waste of money and here's why.... first of all mass gainers are not healthy at all. It's pretty much a little bit of protein powder filled with a ton of sugar. In fact they have so much filler sugar that most Mass gainers fail lab tests for protein. Meaning that they have less protein than what's written on the package. if you want the best bang for your buck then buy regular protein powder & use it to make your own mass gainer. you can create a way better Mass Gainer with ingredients that come from real food for your body to actually use. What you do is you take 2 scoops of protein, two tablespoons of peanut butter, two bananas, two servings of rolled oats & one to two tablespoons of coconut oil. Then you add in either water or whole milk if you really want to add extra calories. Then blend it with some ice & walla you have yourself a killer massgainer thats cheaper & much more effective than what you would get out of a commercial mass gainer. Next on the list are multivitamins & I know a lot of people are going to lose it when I explain this because some people really do think that taking a multivitamin everyday Will magically keep them healthy. don't worry about my diet ....I got my multivitamins. Sorry to break it to you but your multivitamin is only doing two things... one overfilling the pockets of supplement companies & two giving you expensive piss......thats pretty much it. 3 studies published in the journal....annals of internal medicine found that multivitamins & minerals didn't perform any better than a placebo pill in regard to People's Health. Meanwhile supplements like multivitamins continue to lead a multi-billion-dollar industry. First of all we don't even understand the full spectrum of vitamins minerals & antioxidants present in real fruits & vegetables. Like what I mean is we might know about half of them or maybe 10 percent of them or maybe 1 percent of them...we don't know. But even that aside when you take the vitamins that you think we need to stay healthy & you make a synthetic pill I don't care if it's in a veggie cap its foreign to your body..

7 Signs You Should Be Taking Probiotics – Saturday Strategy If you are like so many people, chances are you have taken an antibiotic in the last year. Did you know that antibiotics not only wipe out the bad guys, but the good guys too? Even if you took one 7 years ago - if you have not replenished the good guys within your gut, chances are really high that you are struggling with imbalance, maybe unknowingly. If you struggle with: Irregular mood Skin issues Erratic sleep patterns Crazy cravings for sugar and other unhealthy food Bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea or cramping after meals Healthy weight management These are just some of the symptoms of an imbalanced gut. Which is why probiotics are so important to optimal health. They crowd out bad bacteria, preventing the bacteria’s ability to host in the body, which inhibits infection, inflammation and disease. Best Time to Take Vitamins: Prenatals, B Vitamins, and More

06:37
Best Time to Take Vitamins: Prenatals, B Vitamins, and More Properly taking vitamins The best time to take your vitamins depends on the type you’re taking. Some vitamins are best taken after a meal, while it’s best to take others on an empty stomach. Establishing a routine of taking a vitamin at the same time every day will form a healthy habit. It will also help you get the most out of your vitamin supplement. Not every vitamin breaks down in your body the same way. For that reason, it’s a good idea to know if you’re taking your vitamin at a time of day that will give you the most benefit. Best time to take prenatal vitamins Since prenatal vitamins are a multivitamin, taking them before lunch is an optimal time to absorb all that they contain. A good prenatal vitamin will include calcium, iron, and folic acid, according to the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Iron absorbs best on an empty stomach and can’t absorb properly if you’ve recently eaten dairy. Iron is absorbed better if you take it with a beverage that has vitamin C, such as orange juice. Some women find that adding prenatal vitamins to their diet causes some symptoms like nausea and constipation. Some prenatal vitamin brands recommend taking their vitamins on an empty stomach or with a glass of water. If it seems like taking the vitamins first thing in the morning or without food is making you sick, try taking them right before you go to bed. The benefits of prenatal vitamins are cumulative, so the most important thing is that you take them every day. Some vitamins can’t be stored in the body and must be taken daily in food or supplements. Taking folic acid during pregnancy is known to protect against spina bifida and other neural tube defects. If possible, it’s best to take prenatal vitamins with folic acid for a year before becoming pregnant. Best time to take fat-soluble vitamins The optimal time to take fat-soluble vitamins is with your evening meal. Fat-soluble vitamins are dissolved in our bodies using fats. They are then carried into our bloodstream and perform essential functions. These vitamins include vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin E, and vitamin D. When our bodies get extra fat-soluble vitamins, they are stored in the liver. These vitamins are best taken with a meal that contains saturated fats or oils to help you absorb them. Best time to take water-soluble vitamins Water-soluble vitamins absorb best on an empty stomach. That means taking them first thing in the morning, 30 minutes prior to eating, or two hours after a meal. Water-soluble vitamins dissolve in water so your body can use them. Vitamin C, all B vitamins, and folate (folic acid) are water soluble. Your body takes the amount of the vitamin it needs and flushes out the rest through urine. Since your body doesn’t store these vitamins, it’s a good idea to incorporate them into your diet or take a supplement. Best time to take B vitamins For a good start to your day, take a B vitamin on an empty stomach when you first wake up in the morning. B vitamins are a special family of water-soluble vitamins that are energy-boosting and stress-busting. Some of the most popular B vitamins are B-2, B-6, and B-12. It’s been clinically proven that B vitamins can reduce the amount of stress you feel and improve your mood. What not to do when taking vitamins Vitamin supplements can benefit your overall health. But you can overdose on certain vitamins, and some do cause side effects. Be aware of possible interactions between your vitamins and prescription drugs you take. For example, you shouldn’t combine vitamin K supplements with the blood thinner warfarin (Coumadin). Also, don’t take more than the recommended amount of your vitamin supplement. If you’re pregnant, never double up on your prenatal vitamins. For example, if you need extra iron, take your prenatal vitamin and an extra iron supplement. If you double up on prenatal vitamins you can end up with too much vitamin A (retinol), which can be harmful to the baby. Be aware of the other foods you’re eating so you’re not getting too much of any one vitamin. This can throw your body off balance. Many cereals, “enriched” dairy, and grain products have vitamins added to them as selling points. Always be cautious about what you’re taking if you are pregnant and nursing. Most supplements haven’t been well-tested for infant safety. Always choose supplements from a reliable source because the FDA does not monitor vitamins and supplements for purity, quality, or safety like other drugs.

5 Reasons to Take Supplements (AND WHEN YOU NEVER SHOULD!)

10:08
Highest quality supplements. Used by today’s top professional athletes. http://athleanx.com/x/tested-trusted-true-supplements One of the most common questions asked is whether someone needs to take supplements in order to build muscle and see results. It is a good question and one that has two completely different answers depending on the person asking it. In this video, I explain to you 5 reasons you need to take supplements and when you never should take them. If you can’t deal with brutal honesty however, I would advise you not to watch, as some feelings may be hurt. To determine whether or not you are a candidate for supplementation you have to start with your experience level and current condition. If you are just starting out and are relegated to lifting 5 pound dumbbells for most of your exercises, you are likely not ready for supplements. You can gain far more benefits focusing on building up your strength and foundation while learning proper form and the best way to train than with stuffing your face with supplements. The same can be said if you have allowed your diet and nutrition to put you grossly overweight. Supplements are not your savior. You first must figure out how to rededicate yourself to your nutrition so that you can lose enough weight to make supplements a viable part of the discussion once again to take you and your results to the next level. Next you have to ask yourself if you are motivated enough to take supplements. Some people view supplementation as a way to be lax with the rest of their fitness and nutrition plan. They figure that as long as they are taking the supplements that they don’t have to worry much about everything else. Couldn’t be further from the truth. On the other hand, sometimes the act of supplementing makes you much more accountable for the rest of your actions. In this case, it can be a great advantage to helping you stay on track. If stress is a big part of your life, be it from your work or family, supplements can become even more necessary to help keep you on track and combat that. We all know that proper nutrition and fueling can go a long way towards helping your body fight fatigue and breakdown. If stress is heavy in your life then you would particularly want to look into supplements to help keep you healthy and consistent with your nutrition in the face of schedule disruption. Finally, ask yourself if you think that you can get all the benefits of supplements from food alone. If you think so, I can tell you in most cases you are wrong. For instance, there is simply no practical way to get as much creatine as you would need to experience its benefits from food alone. I said practical. Sure, you may be able to do it in theory, but when you consider the roadblocks that I present to you in the video you quickly realize this won’t work. For a complete supplement and nutrition line that is tested and trusted by today’s top professional athletes, be sure to head to http://athleanx.com/athleanrx and get your Rx Supplement bundle. Feel what a difference supplementation can make and see first hand how it can take your results to the next level. Health Benefits of Spirulina, Top Superfood Protein and Multivitamin

23:37
Spirulina is a species of edible single-celled blue-green algae or cyanobacteria that is particularly known for its ability to convert sunlight into green concentrated sources of protein, fatty acids, antioxidants, like phycocyanin, as well as certain vitamins and minerals. Providing a source of complete plant-based protein, it has been utilized extensively as a nutritional supplement by NASA and for treating malnutrition in developing nations. Why you should check with your doctor before taking supplements

02:39
Many people are confused about which supplements they should take. For most people, it boils down to healthy eating. If you can get your vitamins and minerals from whole foods, that’s always best. In general, a multivitamin is safe and okay, but it’s important to check with your clinician before starting any kind of supplement. Often, supplements can interact with medications or other vitamins you’re taking. You should also be aware that some supplements do not combine well. For example, if you take iron with calcium, you won’t absorb the iron well. However, if you take iron with vitamin C absorption is enhanced. In the United States, most of our food is fortified so true vitamin deficiency is very rare. An exception to that is with vitamin D, which is the most common clinical deficiency that exists in men and women. It’s important to be screened for vitamin D deficiency because it can lead to thinning of the bones and an overall decrease in bone health. Vitamin D-rich foods include egg yolks, fatty fish and cheese. For more useful health tips, visit CTMC’s YouTube channel at YouTube.com/CTMCSanMarcos. Key Nutrients that Make Your Muscles Grow

Dr. Berg's Book (on amazon): https://www.amazon.com/Its-Not-Lose-W... Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about the key nutrients that make your muscles grow and prevent atrophy (the loss of muscle). You need potassium, trace minerals for the enzymes, not to mention fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K2) and vitamin B complex and C. The most common deficiencies are potassium and trace minerals. However, if you have insulin resistance, protein will not enter the cell as well because insulin controls the absorption of amino acids. But mostly, muscle loss is not a lack of dietary protein. High levels of cortisol from stress can also create a catabolic effect on the muscles and prevent the growing of muscles. INTERMITTENT FASTING: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwCRj... This will greatly help you reduce insulin resistance. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional and natural methods. What To Eat On One Meal A Day | Don't Mess This Up!

08:31
The Nutrition Plan We Follow On OMAD: http://bit.ly/2kgnwcC What To Eat On One Meal A Day Diet | Don't Mess This Up! is a video that helps people make healthy choices around nutrition while following the one meal a day diet strategy. What you eat on one meal a day is critically important. Many people are using it a a crutch in order to eat like garbage and still stay thin. The thing that you need to know is that health is not based only on your fat content. Skinny people get cancer and skinny people have heart attacks. Being thin does not equal health. When wondering what to eat on one meal a day think 50% good fats, 40% good protein, and 10% good quality carbs. This is a rule of thumb but can be a sliding scale based on you activity levels. Making sure that you get adequate calories on one meal a day is mission critical. Simply because OMAD is a easy way to crash your metabolism if your not getting enough calories. Minor calorie deficits lead to long term weight loss whereas large calorie deficits crash metabolic function. Stay away from sugary foods and excessive carbs as they can easily lead one into nutritional deficiencies. It is recommended you take a multivitamin while on one meal a day to ensure sufficient nutrient intake.
