Abilify: The Drug That Seriously Harms Your Impulse Control Center

03:14
Anyone who has ever dealt with a mental disorder, either personally or cared for someone suffering with one, knows that treatment of these conditions is incredibly difficult. And when you’re dealing with mental health, one of the worst possible outcomes of treatment is when it makes the condition worse, or causes side effects that are nearly equal to the condition they are designed to treat. And that appears to be the case with a medication called Abilify. Mike Papantonio discusses the dangers of this drug. Learn more about Abilify here: https://www.levinlaw.com/abilify-lawsuit-lawyer

I have Bipolar Type 1 Disorder and I have reached a point where I can identify when I am sliding into a hypo-manic, manic, full blown mania but sadly if I spiral into psychosis I am usually not self aware enough to care or do anything about it. I'm making these videos with the hopes that they will raise awareness, educate, inform and fight the stigma associated with Bipolar Disorder. "There is a particular kind of pain, elation, loneliness, and terror involved in this kind of madness. When you’re high it’s tremendous. The ideas and feelings are fast and frequent like shooting stars, and you follow them until you find better and brighter ones. Shyness goes, the right words and gestures are suddenly there, the power to captivate others a felt certainty. There are interests found in uninteresting people. Sensuality is pervasive and the desire to seduce and be seduced irresistible. Feelings of ease, intensity, power, well-being, financial omnipotence, and euphoria pervade one’s marrow. But, somewhere, this changes. The fast ideas are far too fast, and there are far too many; overwhelming confusion replaces clarity. Memory goes. Humor and absorption on friends’ faces are replaced by fear and concern. Everything previously moving with the grain is now against—you are irritable, angry, frightened, uncontrollable, and enmeshed totally in the blackest caves of the mind. You never knew those caves were there. It will never end, for madness carves its own reality. It goes on and on, and finally there are only others’ recollections of your behavior—your bizarre, frenetic, aimless behaviors—for mania has at least some grace in partially obliterating memories. What then, after the medications, psychiatrist, despair, depression, and overdose? All those incredible feelings to sort through. Who is being too polite to say what? Who knows what? What did I do? Why? And most hauntingly, when will it happen again? Then, too, are the bitter reminders—medicine to take, resent, forget, take, resent, and forget, but always to take. Credit cards revoked, bounced checks to cover, explanations due at work, apologies to make, intermittent memories (what did I do?), friendships gone or drained, a ruined marriage. And always, when will it happen again? Which of my feelings are real? Which of the me’s is me? The wild, impulsive, chaotic, energetic, and crazy one? Or the shy, withdrawn, desperate, suicidal, doomed, and tired one? Probably a bit of both, hopefully much that is neither. Virginia Woolf, in her dives and climbs, said it all: “How far do our feelings take their colour from the dive underground? I mean, what is the reality of any feeling?” ~ An Unquiet Mind I am not a professional film maker .....I am posting this video to bring awareness to Mental Illness and more specifically Bipolar Mania which there seems to be a shortage of in general because it is very difficult for most people to recognize that they are in the middle of a manic episode and slow down enough to capture video. Anyhow please feel free to contact me if you have any questions

zyprexa...genaric or brand name?

06:57
hi my name is john, my government went cheap on me and now i have come back at them. the genaric meds don't work for me. i have been supplementing my meds with the brand name pills. the genaric stuff doesn't work.... sorry i would like to mention the rice patty one was a 10mg pill, the other two where 5mg pills. so where i am coming from is that i had to switch to generic drugs because my medical plan would no longer cover my brand name pills. during the switch I had to use my old stock brand name pills to get by, in the last four day's i have only taken the brand name pills. the headaches i was having have gone away and i can smoke marijuana without paranoia. if you have a family member who has been switched to generic meds and is showing signs of relapse help them do not condemn them, help pay for the brand name drugs and i am sure they will revert too who they were before they took the generic meds

The Problem With New Zyprexa Containing Antipsychotic for Schizophrenia ALKS 3831 from Alkermes

07:12
The pharmaceutical company Alkermes is currently researching ALKS 3831 an antipsychotic for the treatment of schizophrenia that combines olanzapine, already sold under the brand name Zyprexa, with samidorphan, an opiod antagonist. The purpose of it is to reduce the weight gain that usually comes with antipsychotics. But will it be worth it compared to currently avoid antipsychotics like Geodon or Abilify? Most Popular Drug in U.S. is an Antipsychotic

04:03
Does anyone remember Thorazine? It was an antipsychotic given to mentally ill people, often in institutions, that was so sedating, it gave rise to the term "Thorazine shuffle." Ads for Thorazine in medical journals, before drugs were advertised directly to patients, showed Aunt Hattie in a hospital gown, zoned out but causing no trouble to herself or anyone else. No wonder Thorazine and related drugs Haldol, Mellaril and Stelazine were called chemical straitjackets. But Thorazine and similar drugs became close to obsolete in 1993 when a second generation of antipsychotics which included Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon and Abilify came online. Zyprexa Drug Rep

05:26
PharmedOut, a new project that educates physicians on how pharmaceutical companies influence prescribing, is previewing a timely video about Zyprexa (olanzapine), an antipsychotic drug approved by the FDA to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. In this video Shahram Ahari, a former pharmaceutical company representative, tells how he sold the drug. Nearly a decade after its introduction, a drug once hailed as a breakthrough treatment is being assailed for its negative side effects. Antipsychotic drugs are not risk-free, but doctors and patients have long complained that Zyprexa causes obesity and diabetes. This week, the New York Times reported that studies on the frequency of weight gain were underreported by the manufacturer. PharmedOut is an independent physician-run project funded through the Attorney General Consumer and Prescriber Education grant program.

Zyprexa Zydis is a Prescription Medication Used to Treat Schizophrenia

00:49
http://www.rxwiki.com/zyprexa-zydis Zyprexa Zydis is a prescription medication used to treat schizophrenia. It is also used to treat bipolar disorder. Zyprexa Zydis belongs to a group of drugs called atypical antipsychotics, which work by altering the activity and levels of certain natural chemicals in the brain. This medication comes in an orally disintegrating tablet and is is taken once a day, with or without food. Zyprexa Zydis is placed on the tongue. The tablet will disintegrate quickly in your saliva so that you can easily swallow it with or without drinking liquid. Do not swallow the tablet whole. Allow it to dissolve in your mouth without chewing. Common side effects of Zyprexa Zydis include lack of energy, dry mouth, increased appetite, somnolence, and tremor (shakes).

Geodon Side Effects (Ziprasidone) - Akathisia - Bipolar Meds

08:27
This is my experience with Ziprasidone, generic for Geodon and akathisia. Akathisia is a type of dystonia or extrapyramidal symptom. It is terrible. Sometimes I think that the side effects of my bipolar medication rivals the bipolar symptoms. - I am Phils Bipolar Disorder (Fight Club ref) and I was recently diagnosed. This is my bipolar story. - I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 with mixed features and rapid cycling and OCD a few months ago after over a decade of having symptoms. If you don't know me personally, feel free to share with people you think might want to see this. I was sent to the psychiatric hospital where I was diagnosed and during my time at the mental hospital, I didn't really believe the diagnosis and thought that I was just needed to work on my depression but eventually I realized that I was indeed manic and that's when I really started paying attention to my bipolar disorder. Share and subscribe! Contact me if you want to talk. I'd be more than happy to talk to you. Unless you're a troll or spammer. Then you will be ignored. philsbipolar@gmail.com

E1: Tips and tricks on taking Lithium Carbonate

13:24
Tips and tricks on taking Lithium Carbonate is the 1st of a series of films I'm making all around the topic of Bipolar disorder. In this film I talk about how to organise and plan for a Lithium blood test. Take your meds 12 hours before your appointment. If you don't then your readings will not be accurate. Going away for the weekend and on holidays- tips for making life easier when you are moving around. Keeping stocked up so you never run out of Lithium. I became manic after only 4 days of being out of the theraputic range. Coming off Lithium should be done in a controlled fashion with the help of medical specialists.

ABILIFY® Aripiprazole‎ 1 Week Review + Side Effects

04:08
Don't forget to leave a like! Note: What I meant to say in the video is LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR, BUT do NOT take his advice to heart. Listen to yourself, your body, and your mind. Tell your doctor what is happening and keep in mind that he gets paid a lot no matter what he says. Also always get a second opinion. The more opinions/advice you have, the easier it will be for you to decide what is right for you. Aripiprazole, sold under the brand name Abilify among others, is an atypical antipsychotic. It is recommended and primarily used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.[5] Other uses include as an add-on treatment in major depressive disorder, tic disorders, and irritability associated with autism.[6] According to a Cochrane review, evidence for the oral form in schizophrenia is not sufficient to determine effects on general functioning.[7] Additionally, because many people dropped out of the medication trials before they were completed, the overall strength of the conclusions is low.[7] Side effects include neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a movement disorder known as tardive dyskinesia, and high blood sugar in those with diabetes.[5] In the elderly there is an increased risk of death.[5] It is thus not recommended for use in those with psychosis due to dementia.[5] It is pregnancy category C in the United States and category C in Australia, meaning there is possible evidence of harm to the fetus.[5][8] It is not recommended for women who are breastfeeding.[5] It is unclear whether it is safe or effective in people less than 18 years old.[5] It is a partial dopamine agonist. Aripiprazole was developed by Otsuka in Japan. In the United States, Otsuka America markets it jointly with Bristol-Myers Squibb. From April 2013 to March 2014, sales of Abilify amounted to almost $6.9 billion.[9] POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, excess saliva/drooling, blurred vision, weight gain, constipation, headache, and trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
