In this video I share with you my hair loss story. Back in my 20’s, I would have been reluctant to do so, because I felt depressed, frustrated, and embarrassed. However, today I feel empowered to share my hair loss story.
A lot of men have been asking me to do a video on this topic because they are going through the same experience that I went through, and are looking for advice with regards to how I coped with this process.
First and foremost, if you are someone who is experiencing hair loss, I want you to understand that I know exactly how you feel. As men, so much of who we are and our identity is based on how we look, and hair is a big part of that. My hair loss story was a large part of my identity for many years.
Nobody wants to lose their hair. Yes, hair loss sucks, and there’s no shame in admitting that, but once you hear my hair loss story and the solution that worked for me, you may change your perspective.

Being outside and hiking alone helps me think and relax. I understand that getting out/seeing friends etc is SO hard when you're suffering with depression/anxiety but it really did help me. It mostly helped my anxiety because I didn't want to do anything when I was depressed, but that's why I went to my GP.

Hey Richard, first off thanks for doing your videos. Love the car and dating advice videos! The recent video where you recommended the book The Rational Male really impacted my life. I read the book and started implementing the things it teaches. This is powerful stuff! (re-reading it right now) My question is regarding balding and dating younger women (20-25). I’m 25, fairly successful, regularly go to the gym and eat healthy. I started balding a couple of years ago. It still looks ok but I figure in the near future I will need to rock a look similar to yours. I primarily used my looks to attract women so far but I fear this will change when I loose my hair. All my peers still have a full head of hair which is making me feel insecure about it. Any tips for younger men on how to deal with balding and attracting younger women? If you feel this is a question good enough for a video please do it as it may help a lot of young men out there. Take care brother.
I looked through your videos and please excuse me if you have made a video on this subject and i just didn't see it but to the point how did going through hair loss effect you and how have you handled it. Im 32 and its at the point to where i cant hide it anymore and its now to the buzzing it every couple days stage. Im fine with it i mean it sucks for sure but its like well what can you do and i guess i had a good run with it feelings about it which took me a while to get to. Vitamin D is an extremely important vitamin that has powerful effects on several-systems throughout the body. Unlike most vitamins, vitamin-D actually functions like a hormone, and every single cell in your body has a receptor for it. Your body makes it from cholesterol when your skin is exposed to sunlight. It's also found in certain foods such as fatty fish and fortified dairy products, although it's very difficult to get enough from diet alone.
The recommended daily intake is usually around 400-800 IU, but many experts say you should get even more than that.
Vitamin-D deficiency is very common. It's estimated that about 1 billion people worldwide have low levels of the vitamin in their blood.
Here are 6 signs you may have Vitamin-D deficiency.
1.Bone and Back Pain
Vitamin-D is involved in maintaining bone health through a number of mechanisms.
For one, it improves your body's absorption of calcium.
Bone pain and lower back pain may be signs of inadequate vitamin D levels in the blood.
Large observational studies have found a relationship between a deficiency and chronic lower back pain.
2.You Have Gut Trouble
Remember, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means if you have a gastrointestinal condition that affects your ability to absorb fat, you may have lower absorption of fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin D as well. This includes gut conditions like Crohn's, celiac and non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and inflammatory bowel disease.
3.Depression
A depressed mood may also be a sign of deficiency. On the other hand, most of the controlled trials, which carry more scientific weight than observational studies, didn't show a link between the two
Some controlled studies have shown that giving vitamin D to people who are deficient helps improve depression, including seasonal depression that occurs during the colder months.
4.Hair Loss
Hair loss is often attributed to stress, which is certainly a common cause. However, when hair loss is severe, it may be the result of a disease or nutrient deficiency.
Hair loss in women has been linked to low Vitamin-D levels, although there is very little research on this so far
In a case study, topical application of a synthetic form of the vitamin was found to successfully treat hair loss in a young boy with a defect in the Vitamin-D receptor.
5.Bad mood
A depression diagnosis is often actually linked to a shortage of vitamin D. While the jury is still out about why, the Vitamin D Council says that the mineral may work in the same brain areas—and impact the same hormones, like serotonin—as those that affect mood.
6.Fatigue and Tiredness
Feeling tired can have many causes and vitamin D deficiency may be one of them. Unfortunately, it's often overlooked as a potential cause.
In one case, a woman who complained of chronic daytime fatigue and headaches was found to have a blood level of only 5.9 Nanograms per milliliter. This is extremely low, as anything under 20 Nanograms per mililiter is considered to be deficient.

-In recent years, there have been several extended studies that have found a proven connection between vitamin D deficiency and infections of the respiratory tract, such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and the common cold.
-One woman suffered from headaches and chronic fatigue. When she had her blood tested, doctors saw that the level of vitamin D in her body was 5.9 nanograms per milliliter. Vitamin D supplement solved her health problems.
-People with low vitamin D levels were two times more likely to suffer from bone pain in their ribs, legs, and joints.
-Researchers found a connection between low vitamin D levels and bone loss in the 1,100 menopausal and postmenopausal women that participated in the study.
-One of the many consequences of a weakened immune system is that your skin cells may start producing more oil. Another skin problem that can result from a shortage of vitamin D in your system is psoriasis.
-Studies have shown that people who have enough vitamin D lose weight more easily.
-Vitamin D boosts the production of special compounds that are vital for the wound-healing process. These compounds are basically responsible for forming new skin.
-Severe hair loss may be caused by low levels of vitamin D, especially in women and children, as research has shown.
-65% of studies on the topic have found a connection between depression and low levels of vitamin D.
-In 2014, researchers at Bern University Hospital in Bern, Switzerland found that 71% of those who suffer from chronic muscle pain have a shortage of vitamin D.
-Adults aged 55 and older, office workers who spend most of their time indoors, people with darker complexions, people who have a high percentage of body fat are at a higher risk of developing a vitamin D deficiency.
-If you’re vitamin D deficient but you’re not aware, it will progress and can lead to some nasty problems, including: soft bones in children and misshapen bones in adults, different types of cancer, cardiovascular, autoimmune, or neuromuscular diseases.

Effects of excessive masturbation on your body and health (including hair loss, stress and depression)
Masturbation is a normal sexual behavior, but, like any other behavior, when over practiced it can lead to both psychological and physiological imbalances and side effects.
How much is over-masturbation?
Over-masturbation would be 2 or more times a day.
Several doctors recommend to keep masturbation frequency down to only two or three times a week. And for a reason.
First you should know that internal body temperature increases with masturbation.
This is the reason you feel more hot or sometimes even sweaty after masturbating.
According to anael.org, when person ejaculates, a “complex movement of absorption takes place, and by effect of the emptiness, the seminal vesicle tries to fill, and humid air is absorbed through the penis, which is later absorbed from the seminal vesicle to the lymphatic system, arriving at the brain producing a thermal shock and cold spaces between the cerebral neurons and cells and this affects cerebral, physical and nervous normality”.
Sperm contains also DNA, which is carrier of the heredity genetic code, and RNA which contains enzymes, proteins, glucosides, lecithin, calcium, phosphorus, biological salts, testosterone, etc.
When ejaculation is carried out, a very small percentage of this components, are eliminated from the body.
Loss of excessive amounts of calcium can cause fatigue and pain in the bones,
and you should replenish the minerals and nutrients that are lost in significant amount during each ejaculation, either through an appropriate diet, rich in these minerals, or through supplementation.
Over-masturbation, or more accurately said over-ejaculation, stimulates parasympathetic nervous functions, which results in the over production of sex hormones: DHT, acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin.
Abnormally high levels of sex hormones cause your brain and adrenal glands to perform excessive changes in the body chemistry, with bad side effects for your health.
One of the side effects of over masturbation is hair loss.
The levels of one of the hormones responsible for hair loss, called DHT, increase greatly because of excessive masturbation.
Decrease masturbation to max 3 times a week!
People who over-masturbate could experience problems with concentration and memory, which is supposedly a clear sign of “being over drained of acetylcholine”.
According to some authoritative sources, over-masturbating can also drain the motor nerves and neuro-muscular endings, replacing it with too much stress adrenalin which is where memory loss, lack of concentration, and eye floaters come from.
Excessive masturbation can also cause, poor concentration, deteriorating eyesight, mood swings, sleeping disorder, anxiety, stress and depression.
Because of this, I recommend to keep it down to max 3 times a week.
Also, avoid watching porno, as this will steal your focus and your attention, preventing you from concentrating on more important aspects of your life, and will naturally cause you to masturbate more and more, making you into a slave.

More than a third of South African women over 30 polled in a new survey say they are showing signs of early hair loss which has impacted negatively on their self confidence, their appeal to their partners and has led to anxiety and depression. The survey found that 37% of 505 women canvassed in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town were either showing signs of hair loss (28%), had a serious hair loss problem (8%) or were going bald (1%).

A few weeks ago, I uploaded a video about "the dreaded back part" where I talked about an annoying split in my hair that I could not get rid of. The video received a lot of engagement with people saying they deal with the exact same thing! You guys were leaving me comments and messaging me on instagram to express your frustrations with this - it was so nice to chat and compare stories!
It wasn't until I received a message from a viewer saying that she was going to seek medical attention for her hair loss that I started to take mine a little more seriously. She was diagnosed with telogen effluvium, a form of hair loss that happens when you go through major stress or trauma. I was a little more stressed out and irritable than usual, but I didn't think it was that bad. Her story stayed in the back of my mind and I kept noticing my hair thinning in photos and videos, it became a huge pain point and I was super self conscious about it.
I decided to visit my doctor and found out that I was actually suffering from a Vitamin D deficiency and the hair loss wasn't the only symptom...
I had been suffering with symptoms that had gone unnoticed and under the radar for awhile. Remember that irritability I talked about earlier? In this video I will be talking about 7 ways to reduce and prevent hair fall.
Hair is made up of a protein called Keratin that is produced in hair follicles. As follicles produce new hair cells old cells are being pushed our through the skin and the rate of about 6 inches per year. An average adult head has 1,00,000 to 1,50,000 hairs and looses around 50-100 hairs each day. Your hair provides precise information about your health. As hair cells are one of the fastest growing in the human body, loosing hair can be an alarming sign.
Here are 7 ways to reduce and prevent hair loss:
1. Rule out medications - Certain medications lead to hair loss. If you are currently on a medication that lists hair loss as a side effect, try to find an alternative medication. Drugs used to treat cancer, depression, heart problems, arthritis, high blood pressure commonly lead to hair loss.
2. Balancing your hormones - Most common cause of hair loss for men and women is a hereditary condition in which hormones cause hair loss in a particular pattern. In such cases handling your hair gently with all natural hair products can help slow the progression of the hair loss. Some hormone changes are temporary in cases of pregnancy and menopause. Hair loss resulting from these conditions is imbalance of hormones like thyroid or PCOS they will have to be balanced. temporary however if you have an ongoing
3. Stress - Hair loss can result from physical or mental shock and ongoing stress. By decreasing your daily stress you can have a direct impact on the health of your hair. Taking steps to combat stress, getting enough sleep and exercise reduce stress and encourage good circulation which promotes healthy hair growth.
4. Hair management - Avoid hair products that contain harsh chemicals that are hard on the scalp and hair. Use shampoos that do not contain sulphates or alcohol. Let your hair air dry as often as possible, this will help promote new hair growth. Avoid any type of hot styling tool to style your hair. Avoid tight braids, and any pulled back hair styles as they can cause the hair to be pulled out easily.
5. Hair Massage - A good hair massage will stimulate blood flow to the scalp. Getting a head massage stimulates hair follicles and also helps your feel relaxed. Try to use coconut, olive or almond oil for best results.
6. Cold showers - Hot water dehydrates hair strands leading to dry brittle hair and hair fall. A low temperature helps preserve moisture which helps in the health of your hair. So avoid hot showers that can dehydrate hair making it thinner and more prone to thinning.
7. Improve your diet - A whole food, nutrient rich diet is crucial to support healthy hair growth. Consume foods high in protein, iron rich vegetables, biotin and zinc rich foods. Avoid transfats, sugars, processed foods, alcohol and caffeine. Eating more protein will help in the health of your hair as it is one of the building blocks of your hair. Your body needs omega-3 fatty acids to create new hair. Vitamin A and C are important to maintain the health of your scalp which is essential for hair growth. Zinc and iron deficiencies is linked with hair loss. Biotin is a B vitamin that is required for healthy hair, skin and nails.

So in today’s video I want to share a couple of things that need to be considered when it comes to the cause of hair loss.
#1 is Whats causing your Hair loss. There are 5 reasons woman lose their hair we are going to review those with you.
#2 I want to specifically talk about the Hormone DHT and its implication in Hair loss and finally I want to share with you some of The symptoms one might expect to experience if they had High DHT levels- symptoms other than hair loss. These might be early warning signs that if you ignore them, down the road you might be losing your hair.
SO My Top 5 causes of hair loss boil down to problems with
#1 Poorly functioning Liver and Gut (GI system)
#2 High Stress levels or prolonged bouts of stress. Stress can throw a huge hormonal wrench into your hormone pathways.
#3 An unhealthy diet- Let face it, diet affects everything and if your diet is not spot on, this is going to affects microcirculation of nutrient delivery to the scalp, its going to affect hormones.
#4 Hormones (Sex Hormones and Thyroid hormones). I'm sure many of you color your hair, dye your hair, bleach your hair, tone your hair and use your hair as another form of expression and I'm here to tell you so was I.
It was Tuesday October 10th 2017 that I used a different hair product and within 20 minutes my hair was falling out. It only took 20 minutes. One second I was applying the hair product then I was washing it out thoroughly but more than the product came out. If only I'd read the "do not use on bleached hair" warning on the instructions. I searched to buy cool and real hair wigs, to buy realistic hair extensions, to buy long natural tape ins but unfortunately by hair was now chemical burned too short and wigs are not cheap.
I decided I cant hide myself away forever, I have to face the people who know me and show them my story so hopefully I wont have to explain in person how I lost all my hair.
