Your Thyroid Could Be Causing Hair loss - Hair fall

Your Thyroid Could Be Causing Hair loss- Hair fall So many people are suffering from hair loss and hair thinning problems. It has become a worldwide epidemic. In this video, I am sharing with you some facts that your thyroid could be the culprit that is causing all of your hair loss problems. Even if you had your thyroid checked by a doctor, there is a good chance that the issue was undiagnosed. This happens more than you know. The reason for this is because the simple blood test that your doctor takes is not looking deep enough to determine if your thyroid is functioning properly. Every cell in your body depends on thyroid hormones to function properly. Your thyroid produces hormones that regulate your metabolism, it also helps with your heart, brain, bones, digestive system, and even your mood. To really identify if your thyroid gland is functioning properly your doctor needs to check your calcium to potassium ratios. Calcium and potassium play a significant role in the health of your thyroid and if the ratios are off your thyroid will not be able to function correctly. The simple blood test that most doctors use does not check your mineral ratios. A hair mineral analysis is an inexpensive test that uses samples of your hair to check for mineral deficiencies, and toxic elements in your body. This test does check the levels of calcium and potassium and can give you more details of your thyroid and adrenal glands. This test could finally shed some light on whether your thyroids are causing your unexplained hair loss. 👱 Thyroid levels CAN cause hair loss and balding - Hair Loss Part 6

See the natural formula that can improve your thyroid levels and help your hair loss issue: 🤜http://drsam.co/yt/NoMoreBaldness Or watch the first part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRdsoOUp_hU ======================================= 👱 Thyroid levels CAN cause hair loss and balding - Hair Loss Part 6 ======================================= In my last video I talked about stress and cortisol levels causing a decrease in your testosterone levels and also causing inflammation, one the primary causes of hair loss. I ended the video saying that the increase in cortisol also causes negative changes to your thyroid gland. This video will be short because the good news is that as you balance out the hormones I’ve mentioned today -- increasing testosterone levels, while decreasing female and stress hormones -- you’ll indirectly and naturally improve your thyroid levels. The problem with thyroid is that too low (HYPO-thyroid) or too high (HYPER-thyroid) can both cause hair loss. However, typically the problem is low thyroid. Also, you can be “normal-low”, which is not good. You want to be “normal-high” -- that’s the OPTIMAL levels for health and aging. This will give you more energy increase your metabolism help you lose weight and slow down your hair loss. Again, improving all the hormones I’ve mentioned will typically “fix” your thyroid. However, one thing you want to avoid is very low carbohydrate diets any soy products -- both will KILL your thyroid and soy also increases estrogen levels. Two things you do NOT want. Okay, so we’re almost done… the 7th and final video is NOT about hormones, but about improving your blood flow and oxygen to your cells - which means better hair growth and bigger, fuller erections… ======================================== Thank you for watching. How To Cure Thyroid Hair Loss - People With Hypothyroidism

02:16
How To Cure Hypothyroidism http://www.HypothyroidRevolution.org In alternative medicine, there is very little difference in curing hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. This is because the treatment involves assisting the thyroid to heal, in either case. Those with hyperthyroidism should not use iodine, because it could overdrive the thyroid, worsening the condition. Curing thyroid disease requires a long-term commitment for a period of at least a year. Creating this problem took years of self-poisoning, so fixing it is neither quick, nor easy. Hypothyroidism medications are addictive, and the body becomes reliant on them, which is why the mainstream establishment maintains that people must take them forever. Those who have been taking hypothyroidism medications for years must slowly wean themselves from the drugs. Abruptly stopping these medications will result in extreme fatigue, and additional thyroid problems. Treatment Recommendations Eliminate and discard all non-stick cookware Eliminate Soy - Soy suppresses thyroid function, imbalances hormones, and it has been shown to cause goiters (an enlargement of the thyroid gland) in previously healthy individuals, which shows that it disrupts iodine usage. Adhere to an Alkaline Diet - This is extremely helpful when curing any chronic disease. Reference the Body pH and Disease article to guide you. Balance Estrogen Levels (Women) - Excess estrogen slows down the thyroid gland. This means eliminating birth control medications, increasing the fiber in the diet, and avoiding all non-organic meats. Growth hormones in meats lead to imbalanced hormones. Reduce dairy intake, because milk often contains lots of estrogen; primarily because cows are milked frequently during pregnancy. Exercise - Find a physical activity that is fun, and do it often. We believe that exercise could half the cure time in some cases, and curing is not possible without it. Hemp Fiber - This is a broad spectrum supplement and a mild laxative. L-Tyrosine - Tyrosine is a natural amino acid which helps the body produce its own thyroid hormone. This is also known to help with the depression, which usually accompanies hypothyroidism. Most naturopaths recommend that 500 mg. be taken 2-3 times daily. L-Arginine - Arginine is known to stimulate the thyroid and its hormones. It also improves immune function, improves fertility, and alleviates erectile dysfunction. Iodine - The thyroid needs iodine to function properly, and lots of people now suffer from iodine deficiencies. To test yourself, place some iodine (we use 2%) on your stomach. Make a dot the size of a silver dollar (or twice the size of a British 50p). If it disappears within 12 hours, then you are iodine deficient. Keep adding iodine in increasing amounts, until it no longer disappears in a 12-hour period. This works due to the fact that the body absorbs iodine at the rate at which it is needed. Do not use povidone iodine and do not orally consume iodine. This is especially an important precaution for those with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Avoid all sources of fluoride - As already mentioned, fluoride suppresses the thyroid, and is likely to be the leading cause of hypothyroidism. Drink spring water, avoid soft drinks, use fluoride-free toothpaste, use a shower filter, and throw away non-stick cookware. Both coffee and tea naturally contain fluoride, so use iodine to compensate if these drinks are indispensable. Eat a natural diet - To help the body to heal itself, remove burdens on its immune system. This means that all processed foods, artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, white flour, white sugar, table salt, hydrogenated oils, aluminum, high fructose corn syrup, and etcetera should be eliminated from the diet. Organic food is the ideal. Do not trust marketing that reads "All Natural", because this phrase is unregulated, so anyone can use it for anything. Read labels carefully. Chlorophyll - Supplementing with chlorophyll provides essential copper, helps oxygenate the body, builds healthy red blood cells, and it overall assists with skin health. Chlorophyll is a safe method of orally supplementing with copper. Those who are using our Colloidal Copper Lotion are unlikely to need more copper. Zinc and Selenium: Studies indicate that severe zinc or selenium deficiencies can cause decreased thyroid hormone levels. Never take zinc on an empty stomach. Brazil nuts are high in both zinc and selenium. Coconut Oil: Buy organic, cold-pressed, coconut oil from a health food store. Take around 1 teaspoon of it daily. You can also use it to cook with, but be warned that it smokes at low cooking temperatures, so it should only be used for low-heat cooking. Coconut oil speeds the metabolism, encourages production of the thyroid hormone, and kills candida yeast.

HEAL YOUR THYROID & HAIR LOSS

16:17
Lately I've been getting a lot of questions about how to heal hyperthyroid/hypothyroid disorder. The thyroid/parathyroid has a connection with the development of certain features of our body like the hair and nails. So when you see hair loss, or brittle nails we can attribute it to the lack of function of these glands. The truth be told, the lymphatic system is more involved with the hypo-activity or hyper-activity of these hormonal glands. When acids are compromising the thyroid it can suppress the glad with mucous or it can agitate the gland and cause a hyperthyroid disorder such as graves disease, irregular heart beat, and a variety of metabolism issues. All because the thyroid is overproducing a hormone known as thyroxine. But why is the thyroid doing this? The answer is lymphatic stagnation. If you're wondering how to cure hyperthyroidism, how to cure hypothyroidism, or how to cure an overactive thyroid or under-active thyroid, you should first be focused on removing the source of the problem. And the problem is acids. Shifting the diet to an alkaline diet with fruit, berries, and melons will clean out the metabolic waste causing the problem. No matter if you're dealing with thyroid storm, a goiter, thyroid cancer, or any label you've been given you have the ability to alkalinize your body and create the conditions to heal. I have heard many stories of individuals that were able to cure hyperthyroidism naturally using a raw vegan diet. 8 Signs That Indicate Problem With Thyroid Gland

04:26
8 Signs That Indicate Problem With Thyroid Gland The thyroid, located in the neck, is a vital body gland, as it is responsible for numerous functions in the body. It produces hormones that regulate the metabolism, so the imbalance of those hormones severely affects the natural balance of the body. Yet, the thyroid dysfunction is hard to be diagnosed, as its symptoms are similar to other health issues. Therefore, it is of high importance to recognize its symptoms and solve these problems on time. These are the 8 symptoms of thyroid issues that should not be ignored: Frequent pains in the muscles or joints– This is an indication that should not be ignored, so you must visit your doctor and check whether you are experiencing thyroid issues. Bloating and swelling – Hypothyroidism can often lead to bloating. On the other hand, if you notice swelling or puffiness in the face, you should immediately check your thyroid gland. Trembling and anxiety – Sometimes, the excessive production of thyroid hormones may lead to accelerated metabolism and thus can make you feel irritated, nervous, shaky, and you can also experience concentration issues. Weight changes – Hypothyroidism can lead to unexplained weight gain, and on the other hand, hyperthyroidism can lead to rapid weight loss. Irregular menstruation – Thyroid problems can cause two kinds of abnormal menstruation: hypothyroidism leads to extremely difficult and long menstruation and hyperthyroidism causes small flow or no menstrual cycle at all. Change in mental functions – Reduced levels of thyroid hormones cause constant fatigue and feelings of tiredness and dizziness. Abnormal reaction to the temperature outside – In the case of thyroid gland disorders, people may react differently to the temperature outside than others. In the case of hyperthyroidism, people feel abnormal warmness, while the ones with hypothyroidism feel unnatural cold. Hair loss, facial pallor – The thyroid gland issues can also be manifested by hair loss, weak, brittle and dry hair. https://youtu.be/nISFLnLPoTc

Treatments for Hair Loss and Thyroid

Treatments Hair Loss and Thyroid http://www.hair-loss-treatments.com.au/ http://www.brisbanehairloss.com.au/ http://www.hair-loss-sydney.com.au/ How many people do you know with a 'Thyroid problem'? Well for me 50% of clients presenting with diffuse hair loss and resulting hair thinning have a diagnosed thyroid problem. The thyroid gland is one of the 7 glands of your Endocrine System. The glands of the Endocrine System secrete hormones that work together to regulate many body functions and homeostasis. The purpose of your thyroid gland is to make, store, and release thyroid hormones into your blood. These hormones, which are also referred to as T3 (liothyronine) and T4 (levothyroxine), affect almost every cell in your body, and help control your body's functions. An under or over active thyroid gland will effect body balance and in turn can affect the hair. • Underactive thyroid - hypothyroidism - Hashimoto’s disease • Overactive thyroid – hyperthyroidism - Graves' disease Common treatment for underactive Thyroid – hypothyroidism is Thyroxine. The truth is that hypothyroidism is not a thyroxine deficiency it is the result of an iodine deficiency. Iodine is only one of the 60-80 essential minerals required daily for a healthy functioning human cell. Most people have many other mineral deficiency as well as iodine. Make sure you are getting all of the minerals and synergistic nutrients such as essential fatty acids, fat soluble vitamins and water soluble vitamins and protect yourself from all the synthetic hormones we are exposed to in the modern world with potent antioxidants and all in a body pH balance of 7 or above. Blood test regularly to keep thyroid medication balanced as this is the key to balancing hair loss and essential to maintain hair re growth. Testing every 3 -4 months is best until a consistent balance is reached. You can also find a health care practitioner who will guide you through a 24 hour iodine urine test to establish exactly where your iodine levels are at and then follow recommended supplementation, and retest again 3-4 months later. http://nutripath.com.au/product/iodine-loading-test-urine-test-code-5015/ Hair Loss Treatments at Absolique Hair Health Clinic can help you to sort out the hair problems but maintaining the results will depend on your body balance, so help us to help you and your hair by looking after you! What's the Link Between Thyroid and Hair Loss?

08:21
http://drhedberg.com/become-a-patient/ The connection between the thyroid and hair loss may not be immediately clear. But hair loss, also known as alopecia, is one of several classic symptoms of hypothyroidism, along with fatigue, weight gain, constipation, depression, muscle or joint pain, sensitivity to cold and various other issues. The link between a low functioning thyroid and hair loss, and all the other symptoms named above, is that they are all related to a decrease in energy production or metabolism. In this video, I cover the connection between thyroid and hair loss in more detail. You can also learn more on my blog at: http://drhedberg.com/thyroid-and-hair-loss/.

Hair Loss With Hypothyroidism and Treatment

02:20
http://www.HypothyroidRevolution.org - Hypothyroidism is a deficiency of thyroid hormone and is one of most common thyroid problems in the Western countries. Estimated 4 percent of the adult American population has an underactive thyroid function which is primarily caused by autoimmune thyroid condition called Hashimotos disease. http://www.HypothyroidRevolution.org Women are affected six times more frequently than men. In addition to autoimmune Hashimotos disease, there are numerous other causes of thyroid dysfunction that can result in hypothyroid symptoms despite of the normal lab test results. Unfortunately, the following 7 causes of hypothyroidism cannot be identified using conventional blood tests and most likely will be missed by your conventional doctor: 1 Autoimmune Hashimoto's disease is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in industrialized countries, however most conventional doctors do not check for it. 2 Hypothalamus dysfunction that is difficult to establish and could not be seen on the thyroid tests. 3 Pituitary dysfunction that means the pituitary gland cannot send a message to the thyroid gland to produce more thyroid hormone when it needed. 4 Thyroid gland dysfunction when the gland itself does not work properly and could not produce enough thyroid hormone to meet body's needs. 5 Elevated Thyroid-binding globulin (TBG) due to hormonal imbalances caused by birth control pills, menopause or hormone replacement therapy with estrogen. TGB binds thyroid hormone and prevents it from the entering the cell and/or conversion into the active T3 form. The person will have hypothyroid symptoms despite normal lab test results. 6 Over- or under-conversion of T4 into the metabolically active T3 hormone in the liver and intestine that could cause thyroid symptoms. 7 Thyroid cellular receptor dysfunction due to high cortisol, vitamin A deficiency, over-conversion to T3 and other reasons preventing the thyroid hormone from entering into the cell and perform its metabolic action. 5 Essentials Of Effective Hypothyroidism Treatment Plan 1 The proper thyroid testing and diagnosis are the key to establish your effective hypothyroidism treatment plan. 2 Your diet has a big influence on your thyroid function. There are certain foods that support or suppress the production of thyroid hormones, immune system and sabotage your weight loss efforts. Most hypothyroid patients have food allergies, malabsorption and nutritional deficiencies such as low vitamin D, selenium, B12 and other vitamins of group B, iron and magnesium. 3 If you have thyroid imbalance, you are most likely to have other hormonal problems, blood sugar dysregulation and being under stress that work against your thyroid. Without addressing these issues you risk never stabilize your thyroid function. 4 Your gut and liver function play the key role in conversions of inactive T4 into the active T3 thyroid hormone. If you have digestive issues and/or sluggish liver your body cannot convert thyroid hormones effectively and you can continue to have hypothyroid symptoms does not matter how much thyroid medication you take. 5 Consider environmental toxins as a contributing factor to your thyroid dysfunction. We all are exposed to chemicals and toxins, however those who have effective detoxification process enjoy a better health. Minimizing exposure and supporting detoxification pathways can help to support your thyroid gland. (TBS #15) Why Does Hypothyroidism (& Hashimoto’s) Cause Hair Loss?

09:58
Today is all about your thyroid and hair loss. Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism often result in hair loss in many patients which can be a big struggle. Finding the cause of hair loss in your situation is incredibly important and can help you regrow your hair. I've created 4 main categories that lead to hair loss in thyroid patients that need to be evaluated in each case of hair loss: #1. Your thyroid medication dose. If your medication is too high or too high it may result in hair loss. Most people suffer from an insufficient dose or lower than normal free T3 levels which lead to hair loss. But some patients may have a suppressed TSH and high free T3 which can also contribute to hair loss. It's important to make sure your dose is in that Goldilocks range. #2. Your iron (or other nutrients) levels. Perhaps one of the most important factors for hair growth is your ferritin or iron level. Thyroid patients are at increased risk for iron deficiency (low ferritin) which will make growing your hair back impossible. Make sure to check your ferritin and ensure it is in the optimal range (40-60). #3. Your thyroid medication itself. One of the most frustrating things for patients to learn is that their thyroid medication itself can lead to hair loss. This is usually the result of inactive dyes or fillers inside of the medication. You can fight this problem by simply switching to a different medication inside the same class (switch it with a "cleaner" version). #4. Testosterone and androgen levels. High testosterone (or high androgen) can lead to hair loss as well in hypothyroid patients. Low thyroid hormone can dysregulate testosterone metabolism and lead to high levels of DHT. You can fight this by taking certain supplements to help force testosterone conversion away from DHT. Hey guys! I'm Dr. Westin Childs and I focus on thyroid health, hormone balance, and weight loss. Most Thyroid Issues Are Secondary to Other Problems

07:30
Take Dr. Berg's Body Type Quiz: http://bit.ly/BodyTypeQuiz Dr. Berg talks about the thyroid gland and what could be the potential thyroid problems (it is mostly secondary). The thyroid symptoms include hair loss, dry hair, loss of eyebrows, abnormal thyroid glands and hormones, all these are caused due to low thyroid levels in the body. Dr. Berg discusses about the major thyroid problems and their associated thyroid treatment. The main cause for thyroid issues is liver and gall bladder. The next possible cause of thyroid symptoms could be the adrenals. In this case you can have either high quantity of thyroid (hyper thyroid) or low quantity of thyroid (hypo thyroid), both if which are triggered by high amount of stress levels. The third most probable cause could be ovaries. In this case the estrogen depletes the activity of thyroid over time which causes a thyroid disorder. It is very rare that you have primary thyroid problem. Dr. Berg explains the root cause and how to make your thyroid come back. It's free and very enlightening. CORTISOL Low cortisol is when one has either a stress event (including losses). This could trigger alopecia (an autoimmune condition). It could be both high and low cortisol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66ujy... HIGH ESTROGEN This can also effect the hair by lowering the thyroid function. High estrogen blocks thyroid function. This could happen during the pregnancy when estrogen is spiked. However, right after the pregnancy, the estrogen drops and this can increase androgen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZDUo... INSULIN Increase insulin can trigger the increase of androgens, which turns into DHT effecting the hair. High androgens can cause PCOD, but its high insulin that causing that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTjDi... MENOPAUSE At menopause, estrogen drops, but not as low as testosterone, so the ratio makes testosterone higher this converts to DHT, thus effecting hair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4uoj... THYROID Having a slow thyroid can effect hair. But most thyroid issues are secondary which means it's really not a thyroid problem itself. If the gallbladder is a problem, then T4 will not convert to T3. Also if estrogen is high, the thyroid will be inhibited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3z9p... TESTOSTERONE If testosterone is high, it can turn into DHT thereby blocking the growth of hair. Or, the lower amounts of estrogen can make the testosterone appear to be too high. The weak thyroid is also a reason to lose hair. Your hair follicles follow a natural cycle of hair growth and resting phases. At any given time, most of your hair is growing while only a small portion of it is resting. But when changes in the body throw off that cycle, too much hair rests at one time and not enough grows, resulting in excessive hair loss, thinning hair, or balding.

Thyroid and Hair Loss

http://drhedberg.com/thyroid-and-hair-loss/ What’s the Link Between Thyroid and Hair Loss? The connection between the thyroid and hair loss may not be immediately clear. But hair loss, sometimes known as alopecia, is one of the classic symptoms of low thyroid or hypothyroidism, along with fatigue, weight gain, constipation, depression, muscle or joint pain, sensitivity to cold and a number of other problems. The link between a low functioning thyroid and hair loss, and all the other symptoms named above, is that they are all related to a decrease in energy production or metabolism. The thyroid gland produces hormones that control metabolism. When your thyroid gland is damaged, either by an autoimmune disorder such as Hashimoto’s Disease or any of the other many causes of hypothyroidism, it does not produce an adequate supply of the hormones your body needs to produce energy necessary for normal bodily functions. What Can Be Done About Thyroid and Hair Loss? By researching the connection between thyroid and hair loss, you have already taken an important step towards naturally renewing your health. Knowledge is power when it comes to healthcare. Traditional doctors will often prescribe medications to treat thyroid symptoms such as hair loss. But medications don’t work for all patients, and many people don’t want to have to take drugs indefinitely. To learn more about thyroid and hair loss see: http://drhedberg.com/thyroid-and-hair... How to Stop Thyroid Eyebrow Hair Loss

11:07
Thyroid dysfunction can lead to both general hair loss and eyebrow hair loss. Eyebrow hair loss can be particularly troubling because it can cause considerable distress and issues with your appearance. It's important to know that your eyebrows are a sensitive marker of thyroid function in your body. They are often the first sign of thyroid disease and can be the last symptom to improve once you improve your thyroid. 6 steps to improve thyroid eyebrow hair loss include: #1. Take thyroid medication! (If necessary) #2. Ensure that your thyroid medication is actually working. #3. Take hair regrowth supplements (this works for both your hair and eyebrows). #4. Take thyroid enhancing supplements #5. Look at your iron/ferritin #6. Consider switching thyroid medications By following these steps you should be able to improve your eyebrow hair growth and improve your thyroid function at the same time. Always remember that there can be other causes of eyebrow hair loss which are unrelated to your thyroid so if these strategies don't work you may need to look into those as well. The risk for developing hypothyroidism and infertility is higher in women over age 50 and postpartum females. If you have multiple signs and symptoms of this problem, ask your doctor to check your thyroid hormone levels and get treatment of thyroid. Here are the signs and symptoms that you have an underactive thyroid. 1. Unexplained Weight Gain 01:05 Weight gain without any change in diet or physical activity may indicate low levels of thyroid hormones. These hormones help regulate basal metabolism and thermogenesis as well as the metabolism of fats and glucose. An underactive thyroid contributes to a lower metabolic rate, which may cause excess weight gain. If you have unexplained weight gain, it is essential to consult your doctor to determine the exact cause and get hypothyroidism treatment weight loss. 2. Dry and Flaky Skin 02:12 If you are following your usual beauty and skin care regimen and haven’t changed any of the products you use but your skin is dry and itchy, it could be a symptom of hypothyroidism or thyroid dry skin. The change in skin texture and appearance can be due to reduced blood circulation, one of the side effects of having low thyroid hormones. In addition, a slowed metabolism due to low thyroid hormone production can reduce sweating. Without proper sweating, the skin becomes dry and flaky. As these skin signs are rather nonspecific and often subtle, people tend to ignore them or attribute them to other causes. It is best to consult your doctor to see if there is an underlying health condition causing these skin changes. 3. Muscle Soreness and Pain 03:13 People suffering from hypothyroidism often experience muscle weakness, pain, stiffness, or cramping. There may also be general joint pain. Low metabolism disrupts how your body burns energy, which can affect how your muscles feel after doing your regular exercises. Low thyroid often increases inflammation that may be contributing to your muscle and joint pain. In fact, about 40 percent of the hypothyroid patients had predominantly sensory signs of a sensorimotor axonal neuropathy early in the course of thyroid disease. 4. Hair Loss 04:22 hypothyroidism hair loss and Proper functioning of the thyroid gland is essential for the development and maintenance of the hair follicles, and an underactive thyroid can result in significant changes in hair growth and texture. It may also affect eyebrows and body hair. The thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) modulate several aspects of hair anatomy, from the hair growth cycle to the hair’s pigmentation. If you are worried about hair loss and other hair-related issues, see your doctor to get your thyroid checked. 5. Constant Fatigue and Tiredness 05:09 Fatigue and extreme tiredness are very common in people who have an underactive thyroid. When low thyroid hormones flow through the blood, cells do not function properly, leading to less energy, fatigue and constant tiredness. These symptoms persist even after getting proper sleep and rest. A 2012 study published in the European Journal of Endocrinology notes that autoimmune hypothyroidism patients had significantly higher levels of fatigue as compared with differentiated thyroid carcinoma patients health thyroid. 6. Menstrual and Fertility Problems 06:15 Women with hypothyroidism may experience menstrual as well as fertility problems. Thyroid hormones have a great influence on menstruation, thyroid pregnancy, lactation and even uterine involution after childbirth. In fact, the study puts emphasis on the assessment of thyroid function in all patients with menstrual disorders to avoid unnecessary interventions like curettage and hysterectomy. Advice And Treatment For Alopecia | Embarrassing Bodies | Only Human

15:28
Alopecia is an autoimmune hair loss disease that affects 1 in 100 people, and can strike men, women or children of any age. The onset of hair loss is often sudden, random and recurrent, and can lead to either patchy or complete loss of hair on the scalp or body. The notoriously familiar male/female pattern baldness is another form of the condition. There is no single cause – it can be hereditary or genetic, the result of trauma or stress, or even medication. However, people who have had eczema, asthma or a thyroid disease are more prone to the condition. There is no known cure or proven therapy to induce hair re-growth, but there are various treatments available. Hair loss isn’t damaging to health, but it can prove challenging. Causes Of Hair Loss And Baldness | Best Health and Beauty Tips | Lifestyle

05:33
Causes Of Hair Loss And Baldness Hair Loss From Thyroid Problems Either an underactive thyroid, a medical condition called hypothyroidism, or an overactive thyroid, or hyperthyroidism, can result in hair loss because each condition causes a hormonal imbalance. Hormones help to regulate nearly every function in the body, including hair growth. Getting the right treatment to control either of these thyroid conditions will get hormones under control, stop hair loss, and allow your hair to starting grow back. Thinning Hair Following Pregnancy Other hormonal imbalances can also lead to hair loss, especially the wildly fluctuating hormones that occur following pregnancy and childbirth. It takes time after pregnancy for hormone levels to return to normal, so it's not at all uncommon for post-partum moms to notice thinning hair or even patches of baldness. This often occurs about three months after baby’s arrival. Don't worry — as the rest of your body recovers, so will your hair follicles. The hair loss is only temporary — your hair will grow back. Hair Loss Due to Medications Hair loss is a side effect of a number of medications taken for common health problems. Blood-thinning medications, oral contraceptives, drugs for depression, NSAIDs, and beta and calcium channel blockers can all lead to thinning hair or baldness. Too much vitamin A and vitamin A-based drugs called retinoids can cause hair loss as well. Some chemotherapy drugs used to treat cancer are known to cause total hair loss as they work to destroy cancer cells. Just as hair usually grows back after chemo, it should also grow back once you stop taking any medication that causes hair loss. Different Types of Alopecia Alopecia is the medical term for hair loss, and there are two main types: alopecia areata and androgenic (androgenetic) alopecia. Alopecia may cause hair loss only on the scalp or all over the body. It may result in thinning hair, patches of hair loss, some balding, or total baldness, and it may be permanent or temporary. There are numerous causes, including genetics. Talk to your doctor about possible treatments. Physical Trauma: A Shock to Hair Follicles When your body is under serious physical stress, the natural cycle of hair growth and resting can be disrupted, resulting in hair loss, often in the form of thinning hair — strands may come out in clumps. Any shock to the system, such as being in a severe accident, undergoing surgery, experiencing burns, or becoming very ill, can also shock the hair follicles, resulting in up to 75 percent of your hair falling out, sometimes months after the fact Subscribe to Freez Frame Films's Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/freezframefilms Official Website http://www.freezframefilms.com/ Join Us On Facebook FreezFrameFilms - https://www.facebook.com/freezframefilms Health & Beauty - http://goo.gl/bJLldU Twitter https://twitter.com/FreezFrameFilms Google+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/109252552646367222943/109252552646367222943/posts?pageid=109252552646367222943 Visit Freez Frame Films's Dailymotion Channel http://www.dailymotion.com/Freez Frame Films

Graves Disease Wendy Williams Diagnosed

Graves Disease: Did you hear that Wendy Williams had to take a brief leave of absence from The Wendy Williams Show because she has Graves Disease? Do you know what Graves Disease is? Do you think you may have Graves Disease? Keep watching. Subscribe on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBve_ppCNE67fs3MsIocitg?sub_confirmation=1 Be sure to follow me on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Dr.Frita Twitter: https://twitter.com/DrFrita Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.frita/ Wendy Williams made the brave announcement that she was taking a leave of absence for her health because she has Graves Disease or Hyperthyroidism. When this news first broke many of my curious patients, and a lot of my conspiracy theorist friends and family, started asking me questions like, "Do you think Wendy Williams really has Graves Disease or is this a stunt?" They asked me, "Can Thyroid Disease make you sick enough to have to leave work?" Some of my patients, my shady patients, even asked me, "Dr. Frita. I have Thyroid Disease. Why don't you write me a note so I can leave work?" Well, for those of you who watch The Wendy Williams Show, or who have followed her career over the years. You know that Ms. Wendy has been very honest about having Thyroid Disease throughout the years. So no, this is not a stunt. Yes, what she said is correct. Graves Disease can be serious enough to have to take a leave and to manage it properly. In the next few minutes, we are going to clear up some of these conspiracy theories. For the record, I'm not Wendy Williams physician. I do not know about Wendy in particular. But I do know Graves Disease and I do know about the thyroid. What is Graves Disease? Graves Disease is the most common form of Hyperthyroidism or overactive thyroid. The thyroid gland is the butterfly-shaped organ located in the front of your neck. It is located right above the clavicle or the collarbone, and right under the voice box. The thyroid. The thyroid is responsible for producing thyroid hormone which helps to regulate the metabolism or the energy. In the simplest sense, if you have Hyperthyroidism you have an overactive metabolism, overactive energy. Now for those of you who are obsessed with being super skinny, or having super metabolisms. Hyperthyroidism may sound like a pretty good thing. But trust me, it is not. Hyperthyroidism has many, many consequences which could lead to debility or even death. Hyperthyroidism is a very serious disease which must be managed. What are the symptoms of hyperthyroidism? Patients with hyperthyroidism can get anxiety or irritability; fatigue; extreme weight loss; tremors. Another symptom is hair loss or hair thinning. Patients can also develop bulging eyes or exophthalmos. This occurs because when the Hyperthyroidism is not controlled, that thyroid hormone causes the muscles around the eyes to swell. These swollen muscles cause the actual eyeballs to protrude out of the socket. You will see these patients and note that they have the whites of their eyes showing all around. These patients also tend to have red or itchy eyes as well. Is there a treatment for Graves Disease or hyperthyroidism? Absolutely. The treatment for hyperthyroidism can be medications that actually decrease the amount of hormone that the thyroid hormone makes, such as propylthiouracil or methimazole. Another treatment is radioactive iodine. Radioactive iodine actually destroys the thyroid gland so that it does not make thyroid hormone. For patients who are treated with radioactive iodine, they will have to take thyroid replacement hormone for life. Another treatment of hyperthyroidism is surgery or actually removing the thyroid gland. Most physicians will try to do the less invasive treatments. Because surgery, as with all invasive procedures, can have complications. Well, I hope this answered any questions you had about Graves Disease and all of the conspiracies that you've come up with. If you have more questions, please feel free to comment. I want to hear from you. Also, I want to know if there are any other health topics you're interested in talking about. Please subscribe to Dr. Frita. Thank you for watching. I'll see you next time. This video explains what is Graves Disease? Hyperthyroidism, Graves disease symptoms, graves disease treatment, how to manage graves disease, signs of graves disease and overactive thyroid.
