What is vitamin B12, where do you get it and what depletes it? What are the best sources of vitamin B12? If you got a blood test and they told you your B12 was low, it doesn’t mean anything. Serum B12 levels do not reflect true B12 levels since most B12 in the body is stored in the liver and blood tests do not determine stored B12 levels.   http://www.MarkusNews.com B12 is stored in the body for years and years and the odds are that in that time, you will accumulate more B12. Vitamin B12 is basically bacteria poop. In the natural world, (the way we were designed to live), you would pull a carrot out of the ground, brush it off and eat it. There would be little bits of dirt and millions of microscopic organisms all over that carrot. B12! Do you actually think in the 5-7 years B12 stays in your body, you are not going to be exposed to some dirt and bacteria? Heck, even your own gut bacteria, (your probiotics) produce some B12. They say vegetarians and vegans need to supplement B12 because they don’t eat meat. That’s another joke. 90 percent of America is meat eaters and 60 percent of America is deficient in B12, … so how come half the meat eaters are low in B12? Well lets look at why meat eaters sometimes have more B12. It’s not rocket science. Meat is rotting flesh. There’s a lot of nasty bacteria in meat. The minute anything is killed- plant or animal, it starts to decay. Decaying meat requires more aggressive and dangerous bacteria than plants. If you lived in nature only eating plants, you’d be getting more than enough B12. There’s even some B12 in my green formula. Seaweed is a great source of B12. Those of you who get my Sea Moss, haha- what an experience when you open that bag huh? All dirty and smelly. What a nasty fishy smell. That’s what stuff is like when you take it fresh right out of the ocean. It’s FULL of B12. Even after washing and soaking it multiple times, there is still B12 stuck in the tiny pores. There’s B12 in nutritional yeast, even kale and farm produce that still has some dirt stuck in the cracks. Remember also, you have 5 pounds of beneficial bacteria in your gut which also produces some B12. You can feed them and make them stronger by eating more fiber- that's what they love to eat. Then there’s fermented and cultured foods- a GREAT source of B12. Every little bit adds up. And since it stays in your body for years, odds are you are getting enough B12. Now it’s possible that you may actually be low in B12. So the REAL question isn’t “where do I get B12”,…it should be “what’s robbing me of B12 and how can I stop it?” The answer to all of your health issues should not be “what do I take” but “what do I STOP doing that’s causing the problem in the first place”, otherwise you are simply trying to patch holes in a sinking ship. The first place to look is your stomach. B12 is acid dependent for absorption. Older people have B12 issues not because they don’t have enough B12 in their body, but because it can’t ABSORB properly because stomach acidity declines with age. Bread, bagels and other wheat products absorb stomach acid like a sponge. They also turn into simple sugars which feeds candida yeast and H Pylori which radically deplete stomach acid. Antacids, baking soda and alkaline water cancels out stomach acid. Most people have low stomach acid as a result from not knowing what and how to eat.  Almost everybody, even raw foodists are sugar addicts and they choose what to eat based on how it tastes, not what they really need, resulting in a body that doesn't work right. Ok, anyway, if you want B12 to absorb, you need strong stomach acid for for that you need to cut down on bread and sugar and start adding more bitter things to your diet. You can rebuild stomach acid by using more acids in your diet like apple cider vinegar, lemon etc, and also sea salt, B-complex vitamins and 50 mg zinc with meals, plus bitter greens like arugula, endives, watercress etc and also my liver formula.  Do NOT drink alkaline water! This speeds up the whole mess of weakening stomach acid, nutrient absorption, lower B12 etc. Another thing that lowers stomach acid is adrenal burnout, the biggest factors being stress and stimulants- coffee, energy drinks, sugar, stuff like that. You can strengthen your adrenals with adaptogenic herbs like licorice root, ashwagandha, schizandra berry, astragalus, jiaogulan, nettle leaf and alma berry. As B12 pills go, sublingual methylcobalamin is the kind you want, not cyanocobalamin. Sure you can pop a B12 pill. But listen to what I’m saying. Simply taking a pill is not going to necessarily make you any better if you don’t stop doing what’s causing the problem in the first place! Stop trying to hide symptoms and get rid of the cause. The Style Chicks have long enjoyed a good cup of green tea: a tasty warm treat that does wonders for the skin, metabolism, and energy. Green Tea aids in hair growth. But sometimes it is tough to consume 3 cups of green tea a day when I really feel like I just want a Diet Coke or double espresso with whip to get over my afternoon energy slump. An easy fix for this problem is to drink Matcha. Matcha tea has about half the caffeine of an espresso shot. AND it makes you extra pretty. WHAT IS MATCHA & WHY SHOULD I DRINK IT? Matcha is ground tea leaves which make for an intensely concentrated tea, something of a super tea, which has more than 100 times as much Polyphenols as regular green tea. One cup of matcha tea per day is enough for a jitter-free time released energy boost, glowing skin, weight management, increased metabolism and maximum health benefits. Dandelion acts as a natural diuretic, which is any substance that promotes diuresis, that is, the increased production of urine. Dandelion causes kidneys to increase the volume of urine and expel the extra salt accumulated inside the body. By stimulating more urine production, dandelion affects the blood volume and water balance in your body, causing excess fluid to move out of the body tissues. Additionally, dandelion contains taraxasterol. The diuretic effect of dandelion is believed to be due to taraxasterol. This plant sterol removes fluids from spaces between tissues and the skin. The highest concentration of glutathione is in the liver, making it critical in the body's detoxification process. Glutathione is also an essential component to the body's natural defense system. Viruses, bacteria, heavy metal toxicity, radiation, certain medications, and even the normal process of aging can all cause free-radical damage to healthy cells and deplete glutathione. Factors that can contribute to a high uric acid level include a diet high in purines (purines are broken down into uric acid), excess alcohol consumption, renal insufficiency, obesity, underactive thyroid, genetics, diabetes, acidosis, and certain other diseases. There are some tips and natural remedies that can help reduce and control uric acid levels. 1. Apple Cider Vinegar Being a natural cleanser and detoxifier, apple cider vinegar can help remove wastes like uric acid from the body. It contains malic acid that helps break down and eliminate uric acid. Add one teaspoon of raw, organic, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar to a glass of water. Drink this solution two or three times a day. You can gradually increase the amount of apple cider vinegar up to two tablespoons per glass of water and continue this remedy until your uric acid levels come down. 2. Lemon Juice Though it may seem that lemon juice will make the body more acidic, in actuality, it produces an alkaline effect and helps neutralize uric acid. Plus, its vitamin C content also helps lower uric acid levels. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into a glass of warm water. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. Continue for at least a few weeks. 3. Cherries Cherries and dark berries contain chemicals that help reduce uric acid levels. Eat one-half cup of cherries daily for a few weeks. You can also drink one or two cups of tart cherry juice for about four weeks. For even better results, add blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes and bell peppers to your diet. 4. Baking Soda Baking soda, is highly beneficial for lowering uric acid levels and reducing gout pain. It helps maintain the natural alkaline balance in the body and makes the uric acid more soluble and easier to flush out of the kidneys. Mix one-half teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Drink up to four glasses of this daily for two weeks. You can drink it every two to four hours. Do not take this remedy on a regular basis. Also, do not take this remedy if you suffer from high blood pressure. People age 60 or older should not drink more than 3 glasses per day. 5. Olive Oil Most vegetable oils turn into rancid fats when heated or processed. The rancid fats destroy the vital vitamin E in the body, which is essential for controlling uric acid levels. Opt for cold-pressed olive oil rather than using vegetable oil or butter. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fats, vitamin E and antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory benefits. 6. Water Drinking plenty of water helps optimize uric acid filtering. It helps dilute the uric acid and stimulates the kidneys to eliminate excess amounts from the body through urine. Drinking adequate water regularly can reduce the risk of recurrent gout attacks. Drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water throughout the day. Also, include more fluids and fresh, water-rich fruits like watermelons, strawberries and tomatoes, and vegetables like cucumber, lettuce and celery in your diet. I go in the sauna for 10-15 minute intervals and take cold showers to cool my body down. It’s very important to drink cold water while you are doing this. You need to keep yourself hydrated. Just like when you workout you need water you also need it for the sauna. 3. Take activated charcoal When you are experiencing die-off symptoms it’s very important to take activated charcoal. I prefer in a pill form. When Candida dies it releases 70 different types of toxins into your body. This will make you feel like you are not going to survive the detox. You can have flu-like symptoms. Activated charcoal sucks up all the toxins that are being released into your digestive system and help you to release the toxins when you go to the bathroom. If you take the activated charcoal when you symptoms arise you will feel much better. Two tablets of activated charcoal worked for me when I felt sick. If you still really bad you can take a fever reducer to relieve the symptoms until the charcoal does its job fully. 4. Get a massage When you are on the candida diet during the first few weeks you will feel better bad. A massage can help to relieve some of the pain of die off symptoms. You can relax and destress. Toxins that are being released can get stuck in your muscles and joints. This helps to move out the toxins that stuck in certain areas of your body so you can excrete them. A massage is also a nice treat to give yourself because you may be going through a lot of emotions of anger and sadness. 5. Sleep and rest It's very important to get at least 8 hours of sleep when you are on a candida cleanse. Since you are killing the yeast a full assault is being unleashed on your body. Candida doesn’t go out without a fight. This extra strain on your body will deplete your energy. You will need to make sure you are resting as well. You may feel tired when you wake up in the morning and not even want to get out of bed. Take it easy and know that your body is healing. 6. Drink lots of water When you are cleansing the toxins that are being released will be going into your bloodstream. Toxins will be circulating around your body so you need to drink plenty of water to flush out your bloodstream. If you are having headache symptoms you need to drink more water. The toxins can pass the blood-brain barrier and enter your brain. 7. Meditate Meditation is so important when you are having die off symptoms. Your symptoms can be worse if you are stressed. Take time to do a guided meditation or listen to some beautiful music that relaxes you. Try to meditate for at least ten minutes every day. It will help you to be calmer throughout your entire day. It truly does prepare you for your day when you have quieted your mind for just a little while. When you are relaxed you allow your body to fight off the candida and all its toxins. 8. Get a diffuser and use calming essential oils Buy some calming essential oils and a diffuser. Find a scent that makes you go “Ahh” and releases built up tension. So a proper diet and nutrient replenishing system needs to be in place or else excessive use of binders can cause malnourishment in the long haul. Sometimes a simple change in seasons means our skin starts looking like a desert: dry, cracked, and dehydrated. If you're one for piling on lotion but you don't seem to get the moisturizing results you'd like, it might be time to try some organic oils to quench your stubbornly parched skin instead. In America we are often traditionally lotion lovers. But in Europe and other parts of the world, oil is actually the more popular option for hydrating dry skin, and it's having a bit of a resurgence in the U.S. lately, too. There are many differences between lotion and oil, but toxins are a big factor. Some manufacturers have to add all sorts of fillers and emulsifiers to create a creamy lotion, while certain plant-based oils are super-effective at keeping us hydrated and radiant without needing the added ingredients. Oils protect the skin's lipid barrier and are great at preventing moisture from evaporating from the skin. Oils have extremely high nutrient and antioxidant levels. They are 100% active and are easily absorbed into the skin since they don’t contain any fillers. As we age, the oil (sebum) that our skin produces starts to deplete, so it only makes sense to replenish the lipid barrier by applying oils that our skin will lovingly soak right up. Some people believe applying oil, especially to acne-prone skin, will clog pores, cause breakouts, or leave a greasy film. The truth is, most natural oils are easily absorbed, not greasy, and they have a low potential to clog pores, which makes oils perfect for all skin types. They actually have the amazing ability to balance the skin. Lotions, on the other hand, are designed to penetrate the skin, leaving it softer, more hydrated, and younger looking. Lotions are created by blending oil and water together. However, since oil and water do not mix on their own, wax is needed to emulsify them. Wax can potentially build up on the skin, leading to clogged pores and breakouts. Most lotions contain about 65% water, which must be preserved to keep mold and bacteria from growing. However, lotions do bring something to the table. They have the benefit of containing a number of beneficial ingredients such as aloe vera, vitamin E, vitamin D, shea butter, and keratin. All of these bonus ingredients replenish the skin of its lost moisture, repair damaged skin, and can alleviate various types of skin conditions. There might be a place for both oils and lotions in your beauty regimen. Seeing as lotions work by deeply penetrating skin, it's smart to consider using green products, which contain fewer synthetic chemicals that may enter your bloodstream. Always avoid products which contain mineral oil since it is a processed petroleum product. Do keep in mind that the quality of an oil also reflects its performance on the skin. When choosing oils look for a cold-pressed organic option or CO2-extracted.
