Shed disaster DIY (not?)
Initial design was shed but as few things went wrong, the group's project turned into a circus ticket selling point... lol. Good effort though, creativity crept in at the very last minute.

Shed Plans / Woodworking Designs / Blueprints
http://www.ShedsAndMoreSheds.com When it comes to Sheds, finding perfect garden & storage shed plans is the key that helps you succeed in the woodworking project. It is very common that for most of the people, their first attempt to build a shed on their own turns into a complete disaster but you can build your own shed like a pro. All it requires to build a D.I.Y shed is an expert guidance and some amount of confidence with a little bit of creativity in your mind. And the guidance for shed building is easily available today in the form of the ready-made garden shed plans. Now, the big question is that whereto find the garden and storage shed plans? Well, there are many sources to get good plans for your sheds. Some of them are mentioned below - 1. Search on Net -- This is the widest source to get beautiful and creative shed plans for your shed needs. And the best thing is you can find many shed plans for free on different sites. There are many different websites that offer free shed plans with color pictures to build garden shed. These plans come with full diagrammatic illustrations. These plans show you how to build creative sheds for your garden and storage purposes. You can take print-outs of these plans and can understand these plans very easily. 2. Book Stores -- Next source is the book stores, but this source is not free as you know. There are many different shed building guides available at the book stores that have demonstrative shed plans with color pictures and illustrations. These books include plans of different sizes and different purposes. There is a vast range of books that describe how to build your garden or storage shed on your own and you get full information on the materials required, space needed etc-etc. 3. Contact Shed Builders -- Now, this is the most costly source for shed building. They come to your place and build sheds for you and you do not need to do anything. They have their own garden shed plans, but they charge a high fee. 4. My Shed Plans -- Apart from all the above mentioned sources, the best I have found is the newly introduced shed guide, 'My Shed Plans'. This shed book has been written by an expert himself in sheds. He has built many kinds of sheds for over a long time. This guide is really amazing. It covers over 1200 beautiful shed patterns and designs. All the designs are creative and different from each other. This is a product that gives you real value for your money, I have checked it personally. For me, it took a few days to select one design from the hundreds of designs. These plans give you a clear and complete understanding about building sheds in your house. This book covers everything you need to build a shed -- materials, tools, measurements information etc-etc. A shed is a nice place in your house, so before choosing a shed plan, first consider the space you have in your garden for shed and your requirements. Indonesia: building bamboo shelters
The International Federations community-based early-recovery programme has supported tens of thousands of quake survivors to take control of their own recovery. With support from trained Red Cross volunteers and students from local universities, affected communities have managed and implemented the construction of more than 14,000 quake-resilient transitional shelters. The earthquake-resilient shelters are made out of local materials such as bamboo and rope and cost the equivalent of around 185 Swiss francs ($150 USD/ €118). They can be constructed in four to five days and should last up to six years. Shelter is a critical determinant for survival in the initial stages of a disaster. Beyond survival, shelter is necessary for security and personal safety, protection from the elements and resistance to ill health and disease. The impact of a disaster such as an earthquake or a cyclone can result in the destruction of or damage to existing housing, rendering it uninhabitable, or force people to leave their existing housing and seek alternative shelter elsewhere in the case of floods or warnings of a hurricane. DIY 1.1 - Magic Bamboo Shed
A lot of people see and appreciate the new shelter now extending our projects and tools area in the hostel. Here is a "Do it yourself" video to realize your Magic Bamboo Shed. The two major aspects of the spot preparation for a crowdfunded - volunteer based community are (1) to add value to the underutilized spaces and (2) to achieve the project thru collective - collaborative work. We wanted to add a shelter of 12sq.m. to extend our maker's space and utilize the area for carpentry, sculpture or other tool works. We achieved it with and impressive new-school eco-construction technique shared to us by our friend David Spigolon who lead the project, helped by our volunteers Subu & Vishal Gupta. Such additions using natural material are done to a minimum cost. (12sp.m. of space added to the makers space in just €55 - Thanks Girish Sharma for the contribution.) Go ahead, add value to the underutilized spaces in your home, hostel or communities. All the best * DM to us for details of any step - so that we can send you the blue-prints and more information. Concrete block DIY Storm Shelter 12x20 foot
Early in 2012 I built a storm shelter for my family. It's a twelve by twenty concrete block structure designed to be bermed over. Total cost was just over $3,000. I made a video to walk people through the process; I had never done anything with concrete before this project, so this video is designed to take a beginner and explain everything I had to learn in order to do this. Well, maybe not everything, but a lot - the important stuff. The version of the video here is only the first half. I'm selling the whole video, and plans, etc at my website: www.diystormshelter.com

Okay, you bought a used shipping container, you’re going to dig a hole and bury it, all done right? I’m afraid not. As a matter of fact, you may have a disaster on your hands and you don’t even know it yet. What was meant to be an inexpensive alternative to buying a professionally made and installed emergency shelter could end up being a nightmare if you’re not careful… Please help support this channel: https://www.paypal.me/coffeetalk Would You Like to Donate Bitcoin?: 18L1YmwqY6zH19Hiu6XLMPcHEv4h8dcYsB Would You Like to Donate Litecoin?: Lfomz4sQEE8LgL2vJESppZnFUpvQieEJd7 Coffee Talk: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNf6os1p4b5PNdgyoosrr7A

DIY Portable Pig Shelter - Part 2
Visit http://www.jandjacres.net for more hobby farm activities. Did my plan for building the shelter work, or was it a disaster? The idea to let these panels bend themselves just might now work. Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=Jandjacres I am building a portable shelter for some American Guinea Hog's that I am buying from Alderman Farms. It is a hush-hush operation. She'll find out about it on her birthday. The shelter is 8' long by 5' wide and constructed out of: (2) "Handy Panel's" - 50" x 8' cattle panel (3) 2" x 6" x 8' treated lumber Small fencing staples Exterior deck screws 8' x 6' medium duty tarp Zip-ties The idea behind this project is that we can put the pigs out to pasture and graze them throughout or property, moving fence and shelter one length at a time. Hopefully this will save us in hog feed and help add nutrient to our soil throughout our site.

19 Hacks That’ll Make Any Messy Garage An Organized Thing Of Beauty
Let’s be honest with ourselves: most of our garages are absolute disaster zones. Sure there’s some organization – a couple bins here and there, maybe a few shovels hanging on the wall, but besides that, many garages are absolute free-for-alls, full of miscellaneous objects scattered about with little to no sense of organization. Garages like this can be a huge waste of time when you have a project you want to get done but can’t find the tools you need. So folks, let’s get ourselves together and organize our garages the right way, saving some space while we’re at it! Building a House is Easy
This is a completely new build we did for a woman whose house was in such poor condition it left us with little other options but to deconstruct her old house and rebuild her a brand new one. The project took us 7 days of carpentry work, with 4 days of foundation digging and pouring prior to the footage shown here for a total of 11 days of work after the old house was fully deconstructed. All 3 Home Repair crews that serve McCreary, Clay, Owsley, Rockcastle, and Jackson Counties were involved in this project. Nothing could have been done without the generous support of our donors, if you'd like to help make projects like this possible, whether through Donations, or to Volunteer and be more intimately involved in making things like this happen, visit our website at http://www.christianapp.org/ You can find more of me at these fine establishments on the internet: Tumblr: http://bit.ly/MeFundTumblr Twitter: http://bit.ly/MeFundTweets Google+: http://bit.ly/MeFundGplus Facebook: http://bit.ly/MeFundFB Song: "Stray Donkey Strut" djpretzel OverClocked ReMix http://www.ocremix.org/

Front Door Overhang: Simple and Attractive
Go to www.CAmericaProjects.com for even more awesome ideas! When we started the first thing we did is we dug some holes in the ground so it will be level. When we are done we will cover those with some rocks. We wanted to use these round posts here. What we did is we used these cement blocks that have this metal plate already cemented in. You can buy them in the store already like this. Once we had those bolts in those poles pretty much stood on their own. They weren't super secure but they stood without any other support. Once those were up then what you do is to the rafters of the house, we screwed this board that goes the length of however long you want to make it. We put two screws in each one and this is going to give us a good strong support to put our cross beams to. The next thing we do is we come up on one of the ends and you want to make sure this is 90 degrees. Use your t square to make sure that is a perfect right angle. Before we did that. We cut these at an angle. We cut the posts at an angle. We just set this on the top. So what you can do when you set that there. You can put some little tiny screws just to hold it. This Makes the structure a little more sound. You are going to put some heavy duty screws at the end. And what that does is when you are installing this beam. It gives it something to set on. Then what I do is I put one screw in first. Then I make I have the 90 degrees because if you have just one screw in you have some play and can move it back and forth. Once I have the boards on either end. I have the one on that end and the one on the extreme end. Once those are in place we had Dad hold up this post and make it level. So what he did was he stood here and made sure these were level on two sides right? As soon as he said that it was level then I put a screw from the end board in to the cross beam. Then that kind of holds it in place. From then on it is sturdy. Then you go to the other corner and do the same thing. Good morning everybody! So we didn't finish last night so we are back at it today. We ended up shortening the ends to make them even. I added some more of these cross beams. I figured it would give it more support. I don't think I had enough to make it strong so now we have one about every foot or so. This is the basic structure of the roof. Now what we are going to do is put up our plywood on the top of that. I am measuring now how far the plywood would be. What I got is 70.5 inches so I'm going to make it a 72'' roof because you want a little bit of an overhang. So we just pushed the plywood up and then on each side We left about 3/4 inch of overhang on each end. What we did here is these ends that are exposed we are going to put a cross beam across there to cover those as well. That will be one of the next steps we do but first time to fasten down the board. Earlier I pre drilled the holes to have the screws ready to go. Above that is one of the beams from the house so I was waiting until the plywood was put in. What we can do now and drill that directly in to the beam and it will hold the plywood roofing in place. I found some little screws. You want to eyeball them and make sure they are going to go through. And as you can see from this angle. The screw won't poke through so that is good. We are just going to put 3 screws down each support beam just to kind of hold her in place. Here we have our pack of shingles. Usually one pack of shingles is made to cover a whole sheet of plywood so we should have plenty of extra. I am going to go ahead and pull out a couple of these and get started. I don't know if this is a recommended way of doing this but I am going to use staples. I figure it is not the roof of the house. It is an issue that it easy to fix and it is not going to cause a disaster. What I'm doing is I'm just overlapping these by a few inches. I will keep it fairly dry in the middle. There is a line drawn on these and you bring each shingle down and cover the line so it gives you a good idea where to position them. Ok so I am on my last set of shingles and what I am going to do since we are tucking these up under the eaves I won't have a way to staple them down because you don't want the staples exposed to the rain because it can eventually leak. What I will do is use a little bit of glue. Put a little glue on the back and tuck them under and I think that should hold them in place. What we have here is where the ends show. Originally we were going to put this up flat like that. But then we decided it would look better like this. It makes the porch look a little stronger. I held the board up and used a pen to mark the center of each stud and then I pre drilled the holes and got the screws ready so you can see they all line up. So what we are going to do next is hold it up here and screw it in. The only thing left to do is we will stain it to match this cool wooden sign that we got. So we will have a stained wood look.
