How To Test Blood Sugar | How To Check Blood Glucose | How To Check Blood Sugar Levels | Blood Sugar Test Procedure | How To Check Sugar Level | Blood Sugar Test Procedure | How To Use Lancet | How To Use Glucose Meter Hey all, this weeks video is a thorough guide on how to test your blood sugar levels properly. I've also included some really useful tips which I believe everyone should know. Let me know how you get on with my guide by leaving a comment below. If you have any friends or family who would also benefit from this video then feel free to spread the word. Thanks for watching. BLOOD GLUCOSE TESTING: Blood glucose testing, also known as blood glucose monitoring, is one of the main tools involved in controlling diabetes. Not everyone with diabetes will test their blood glucose levels but it is regarded as being very beneficial for helping to make diet and medication dosing decisions. If you are on any medication that can lead to hypoglycaemia (most notably insulin), you should test your blood glucose levels. WHAT IS A LANCING DEVICE: Lancing devices are used to obtain samples of blood for glucose testing using a lancet. A variety of lancets are on the market, the most common of which are automatic lancing devices (Used in the video). TESTING BLOOD GLUCOSE METER & TESTS STRIPS: Control solutions are used to check that the meter and test strips are working together properly and that the test is performing correctly. Most control solutions last 90 days after opening, please check yours for the actual date. The acceptable range of glucose for that solution is listed on the back of your test strip vial or control solution. USEFUL TIPS: Please watch the full video for all of them but here are some important ones, • Use a new lancet every time you use your lancing device. I know it's time consuming but if you don't change, it's going to hurt more and you're at risk of a skin infection. • Diabetic patients tend to build a collection of different blood glucose meters over time. It’s really important that you only ever use one meter to build up a trend of results because different meters will give slightly different results. HOW TO TEST BLOOD GLUCOSE: • Prepare your kit for testing. • This should include: your meter, test strip, lancing device, cotton wool, monitoring diary and sharps bin. • Ensure that the lancing device is primed with a new lancet. • Wash and dry your hands - to ensure that the result is not influenced by any sugars that may be present on your fingers. • A fuller drop of blood will be obtained if your fingers are warm, so it’s worth warming your hands by washing with warm water and rubbing them for 10 seconds. • Put a test strip into your meter, make sure it switches on and is ready. • Prick your finger with the lancing device at the sides of the finger as there are less nerve ending here than at the tips or the ‘pads’. Switch fingers regularly to prevent thickening of the skin. You may want to avoid using your little finger due to the skin being thin. • If your hands are warmed up you shouldn't need to squeeze your finger for a blood drop, if necessary apply light pressure to the surrounding area until a blood drop appears. Squeezing too hard can interfere with results. • Wipe away the first blood drop with clean cotton wool and use the second blood drop for testing (careful not to smear the drop). • Gently touch the blood drop with the test strip in the meter, wait a few seconds for result to appear. • If the test is successful, clean any blood off your finger – with the cotton wool if necessary. • Record the result/details in a monitoring diary. • Dispose of the test strip and ensure that the lancet used is put into a sharps bin. If you have any further questions please speak to your pharmacist. Want to see more videos about everything health and pharmacy? Let me know in the comments below. So I have to inject insulin to regulate my blood sugar and check my levels by using a glucometer. This means I have to stick my finger with a needle anywhere from 5 to 10 times a day. Dexcom provided me with a review unit of its new G6 continuous glucose monitor that's approved by the FDA to require no blood at all. CGMs allow diabetics to see their blood sugar throughout the day and night with a sensor that is inserted under the skin. Previously, CGMs needed a blood glucose reading in order to calibrate the device. The new Dexcom G6 comes factory-calibrated and requires no finger stick. I've been wearing the device for nine days and I am really impressed with it.

I Ate One Meal a Day For a Month, See What Happened to Me

08:55
Can you eat just one meal a day? The human body can survive without a bite of food for up to 3 weeks. Of course, it’s a different story with water; you wouldn’t last more than 3 or 4 days without it! You and I both know that people are expected to eat 3 full meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Depending on how filling those meals are, you may squeeze in a few snacks here and there. It usually takes about 4 hours after each meal for your belly to start making those too-often-than-not embarrassingly monstrous growls, reminding you that it’s time for your next meal! But with different diets and fasting gaining popularity, I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen to my body if I ate just one meal every day for 30 days. I did it, and here’s what I got out of it! TIMESTAMPS: What the one meal a day diet is 1:44 The pros of this diet 2:38 The cons of this diet 4:05 How I felt after the 30 days 5:30 What a number of studies have shown 6:17 #diet #onemealaday #weightloss Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - You eat just one meal a day. There aren’t too many strict guidelines to this diet. You can essentially eat any foods you want and as much as you want, as long as it’s during your one singular meal of the day. - Unlike a lot of other diets, there are no special ingredients involved and no annoying calorie counting. If you want French fries, have French fries! If you’re craving a big bowl of spaghetti, go for it! - If weight loss is a goal of yours, it’s important not to overeat during your one meal since it can disrupt the diet’s ability to help you maintain a steady drop in pounds. - After trying it for a couple of days, I found that my body quickly adjusted to this way of eating, and my appetite really wasn’t that raging. This must be because my stomach probably shrank after a few days, so I felt satisfied with just one meal a day. - For the first couple days, my stomach was definitely feeling hunger pangs. It started with stomach growls and ended with painful cramping. - For the first week, I just wanted to lie on the couch and Netflix and chill all day long. My energy was super low, and I felt so lethargic. - After the 30 days, I found that I’d actually dropped a few pounds! I felt pretty awesome not only because I’d gotten leaner and felt healthier, but I was also really proud of myself for sticking to a diet that I easily could’ve given up on. - One of the main concerns I found online was the fact that women and men respond differently to this type of intermittent fasting. Women have a stronger need for iron in their diet. - I also read up on different studies. One of them was conducted in 2017 by researchers at the University of Saskatchewan. They found that the one meal a day diet can be helpful for people suffering from type 2 diabetes since it helps with weight loss and reducing blood sugar levels. - Other studies have shown that it can really help increase the lifespan in people with obesity. - It just a super specific thing that each person should check with their doctor to see if they can do it safely. A lot of people swear by it, and I’m happy with the weight loss results I got. Treatment of diabetes at home quickly and efficiently click website : http://5d8c9fo5wm1v9l9ln0v-27gv15.hop.clickbank.net/ Diabetes means your blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high. If you can't control your diabetes with wise food choices and physical activity, you may need diabetes medicines. The kind of medicine you take depends on your type of diabetes, your schedule, and your other health conditions. With type 1 diabetes, your pancreas does not make insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps glucose get into your cells to give them energy. Without insulin, too much glucose stays in your blood. If you have type 1 diabetes, you will need to take insulin. Type 2 diabetes, the most common type, can start when the body doesn't use insulin as it should. If your body can't keep up with the need for insulin, you may need to take pills. Along with meal planning and physical activity, diabetes pills help people with type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes keep their blood glucose levels on target. Several kinds of pills are available. Each works in a different way. Many people take two or three kinds of pills. Some people take combination pills. Combination pills contain two kinds of diabetes medicine in one tablet. Some people take pills and insulin.Everyone with diabetes should test their blood sugar (glucose) levels regularly. Knowing the results lets you tweak your strategy for keeping the disease in check, as needed. Regular testing can also help you avoid getting long-term health problems that can stem from the condition. Research shows that in people with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, sticking to your target blood sugar and HbA1c levels makes complications less likely. banana girl diet consciousness cure diabetes diabetes camp diabetes excercises diabetes recipes diabetes retreat diabetes treatment diabetic durianrider ems emt excercise for diabetes excercise for diabetics fitness freelee fullyraw health high-carb vegan ketoacidosis medical meditation mindful diabetic robby nurse paramedic plant-based diet retreat retreat (spiritual) retreats reverse diabetes reverse diabetes naturally student type 1 diabetes type 1 diabetes diet type 1 diabetes weight loss type 2 diabetes type 2 diabetes diet vegan vegan diet weight loss weight loss for diabetics yoga treatment of diabetes at home quickly and efficiently click : http://5d8c9fo5wm1v9l9ln0v-27gv15.hop.clickbank.net/

My recovery after severe Type 1 Diabetic seizure

06:54
Hi I'm Royce, This is me recovering from a severe type 1 diabetic seizure where my roommate had to call paramedics (this summer). If my blood sugar gets too low, I can fall into a diabetic shock, bite my tongue, forget who I am and completely lose consciousness (similar to epilepsy). If I ride too high, I feel nauseous and make myself vulnerable to long term complications such as, eye damage, kidney damage, strokes, ulcers and nerve damage. Managing type 1 diabetes is like a double-edged sword and I'm constantly riding this wave to keep incidents like these from happening. Eating healthy and sticking to a balanced lifestyle is key but not always easy. I'm pushing myself to bring more awareness to this disease. I'm on the insulin pump and test my blood 5 to 6 times a day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnwL5w9XhRU IG : https://www.instagram.com/royce.costa/

This groundbreaking book, Reverse Diabetes Today, is the first scientifically proven system for reversing Type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, while showing people with Type 1 how to dramatically reduce or even eliminate their insulin dose. And chances are, you won't hear or read about this system anywhere else, because it isn't in the interest of pharmaceutical companies or medical professionals to inform you. “Why?” You might ask. • If everybody knew about it, pharmaceutical companies couldn't sell their life-long maintenance drugs anymore. • Pharmaceutical companies and medical professionals would lose millions of dollars in profits. And their behind-the-scenes manipulation of "the diabetes crisis" is a sinister plot (you'll learn all about it). • It is terrifying for pharmaceutical companies to realize that this natural discovery, without the use of medicine, is helping people cure their Diabetes completely. How is that possible, you ask? “I thought Diabetes couldn’t be cured?” You’re right. At least, partially. With traditional medicine, Diabetes can never be cured. Traditional medicine “fights” Diabetes through drugs that treat the symptoms of the disease, but never deals with the root cause of the problem. In fact, doctors acknowledge they have no idea WHAT causes Diabetes, they don't know how to cure it — but here is a prescription for some drugs anyway. (sound familiar?) Does that make sense to you? Yet, people do just that for every physical condition, such as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Cholesterol, Arthritis, Heart Disease, And… Diabetes. Glucosense ends finger pricking for people with Diabetes

02:20
A new laser sensor that monitors blood glucose levels without penetrating the skin could transform the lives of millions of people living with diabetes. Currently, many people with diabetes need to measure their blood glucose levels by pricking their fingers, squeezing drops of blood onto test strips, and processing the results with portable glucometers. The process can be uncomfortable, messy and often has to be repeated several times every day. The new technology, developed by Professor Gin Jose and a team at the University of Leeds, uses a small device with low-powered lasers to measure blood glucose levels without penetrating the skin. It could give people a simpler, pain-free alternative to finger pricking. The technology has continuous monitoring capabilities making it ideal for development as a wearable device. This could help improve the lives of millions of people by enabling them to constantly monitor their glucose levels without the need for an implant. It is also good news for healthcare providers as it could provide a simpler and cheaper alternative to both of the current methods – finger pricking, which uses disposable sample strips, or invasive continuous monitors, which use implanted sensors that need regular replacement. This technology is licensed to Glucosense Diagnostics, a spin-out company jointly formed and funded by the University of Leeds and NetScientific plc, At the heart of this new technology is a piece of nano-engineered silica glass with ions that fluoresce in infrared light when a low power laser light hits them. When the glass is in contact with the users’ skin, the extent of fluorescence signal varies in relation to the concentration of glucose in their blood. The device measures the length of time the fluorescence lasts for and uses that to calculate the glucose level in a person’s bloodstream without the need for a needle. This process takes less than 30 seconds. No-needle glucose check

01:31
Diabetics who have been pricking their fingers for years finally have another option. Freestyle Libre is a small patch that can be easily applied to the upper-arm. With a simple scan, the sensor can read your glucose levels, no needles or blood necessary. The device keeps readings for up to ten days, making it much easier to see any patterns or trends in your blood sugar readings, and it even shows these readings in an easy to understand line graph. The product is currently available at drug stores in the United States. Metformin and longevity

03:13
Metformin has been known to increase the lifespan of roundworms, and more recently mice. A diabetes trial in England, the UKPDS looked at diabetics and cardiovascular events related to how well their diabetes was controlled. It was noticed that those treated with metformin had less events and lived longer than those not treated with metformin. The FDA just approved the first human trials looking at metformin and longevity. There are several proposed mechanisms. One is that it is a diabetes drug, however no other diabetes drug has shown benefits. It lowers insulin levels and insulin and IGF (Insulin like growth factor) may cause inflammation or turn on cancer cells (gene expression). Another btheory is that it effects oxidative stress in the cells, also increasing gene expression of cancer or aging cells. Normally we tke about antioxidants as being healthy, this may be a controlled form of oxidative stress with a beneficial effect. If true, then taking antioxidaants may counteract the effect. Metformin is a safe drug, inexpensive and may have multiple beneficial effects, in both the diabetic, and non diabetic. It is extremely early in this investigation, and I cannot recommend it just yet in non diabetics. However, if you are a pre-diabetic, or diabetic, you should have a conversation with your doctor if you are not on it already.

8 Surprising Early Warning Signs Of Pancreatic Cancer You Should Never Ignore

04:33
Sign 1: Unexpected Diabetes Diagnosis. Diabetes is a disease where the body doesn’t produce enough insulin and stops being able to regulate blood sugar. It’s a common illness that comes in many different forms, but an abrupt diagnosis as an adult might be a sign of the first stages of pancreatic cancer. Since a problem in the pancreas might cause insulin issues, you should ask your doctor to rule out pancreatic cancer if you get an unexpected diabetes diagnosis. Sign 2: Itchy Hands And Feet. “Even a small pancreatic tumor can block the bile duct,” according to Caring.com. If the duct is blocked, bile starts to build up in the body. When there’s too much bile in the blood, it starts to create compounds in the blood that can’t be broken down. These compounds accumulate in the hands and feet, which might make your palms and the soles of the feet persistently itchy. Sign 3: Yellowing Eyes. The buildup of bile in the blood stream is also called jaundice. This causes a lot of other symptoms beyond itchy palms and feet. Bile has a bright yellow pigment, and it can show up in the whites of the eyes. This is another sign that a blockage, such as a small pancreatic tumor, might be developing in the pancreas. Sign 4: Gnawing Pain In Belly. Abdominal pain is a common symptom with a lot of different causes. Pain that radiates out from the pancreas is often described as “gnawing,” a bit like a hunger pain. People who have had pancreatic cancer also report that the pain tends to go away when they lean forward. Sign 5: Strange Stools. Your poop might provide one of the earliest clues to a problem developing in the pancreas. If bile isn’t being processed properly, your bowel movements won’t be their normal brown color. Instead, they’ll look pale and clay-colored, which is a symptom you always want to bring to your doctor. Sign 6: Sudden Weight Lost. Weight loss is welcome if you’re trying to work off those last 10 pounds, but it can be an alarming red flag if you aren’t trying to drop any weight at all. If a pancreatic tumor is developing, it may prevent your body from digesting food thoroughly. That means that fat and sugar might pass right through your system without sticking, though essential nutrients also aren’t making it into your body. Sign 7: Cravings Disappear. If you have always craved chocolate or cheese, and then suddenly lose your taste for them, you should pay close attention. If your pancreas stops producing the regular digestive enzymes, it might also change your appetite. In addition to feeling nauseated, you might find that specific foods you used to crave no longer taste nearly as delicious. Sign 8: No Appetite. Pancreatic cancer doesn’t just cause cravings to disappear, it might make your whole appetite go up in smoke too. You might feel hungry, then find that you’r completely full after just a bite or two. That’s because the lack of digestive enzymes can shut down your whole system and confuse your stomach. If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s important that you get in touch with your doctor right away. This is especially true if you’re experiencing multiple symptoms all at once, since every early warning sign might help your doctor find a diagnosis. Metformin

17:48
The inexpensive drug generically available as metformin remains the first choice for type 2 diabetics in whom diet and exercise fail to work. Not only does it dramatically improve blood sugar levels and hemoglobin A1c, but unlike other diabetes drugs, its use may lead to weight loss and is rarely associated with hypoglycemia. When necessary it may be combined with additional anti-diabetes medicines. Additionally preliminary reports suggest metformin may act to prevent a variety of tumors and even increase survival in colon cancer.

Sugar Ka Ilaj - Diabetes Treatment In Urdu - Ziabetes Aur Ilaj

06:35
Sugar Ka Ilaj - Diabetes Treatment In Urdu - Ziabetes Aur Ilaj. Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high. Glucose comes from the foods you eat. Insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose get into your cells to give them energy. With type 1 diabetes, your body does not make insulin. With type 2 diabetes, the more common type, your body does not make or use insulin well. Without enough insulin, the glucose stays in your blood. You can also have prediabetes. This means that your blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be called diabetes. Having prediabetes puts you at a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes. Over time, having too much glucose in your blood can cause serious problems. It can damage your eyes, kidneys, and nerves. Diabetes can also cause heart disease, stroke and even the need to remove a limb. Pregnant women can also get diabetes, called gestational diabetes. Blood tests can show if you have diabetes. One type of test, the A1C, can also check on how you are managing your diabetes. Exercise, weight control and sticking to your meal plan can help control your diabetes. You should also monitor your blood glucose level and take medicine if prescribed. Reversing My Diabetes 9 of 11 - Dr. Bailey's Story (Part 2)

15:34
JOIN US at http://MetabolicCoaching.NET/Diabetes for Reversing My Diabetes Monthly Webinar + 3 Months Follow Up. Start reversing your diabetes today! Our goal today is to help you learn how to reverse your insulin resistance through your diet, in order to REVERSE YOUR DIABETES. Dr. Mike Bailey is a family practitioner who was a diabetic on 3 medications, hypertensive, and had a bad knee. Now, he is off all his meds, has an HgbA1c of 6.2, blood pressure of 120/70mmHg, and has lost 100lbs. He is now a firm believer of the low carb diet and recommends it to his patients. Dr. Mike: I have a woman just this morning that came in, she’s on 5 medications for diabetes, her sugar’s not controlled, she has gained 17 lbs in the last 2 months, and she’s not eating right. I told her she needs to start insulin now or start the Metabolic Coaching Program to teach her how to eat correctly and gain control of that diabetes. She said, “This is what I need.” Her husband is also close to 400 lbs so I told her to bring her husband with her so everybody understands what they’re supposed to be doing and it becomes a family effort. It works better. All of the major weight loss programs are now an off-shoot of the Atkins program – low carbohydrate. I think it’s a good, healthy way to eat. I eat fish and chicken, and occasionally some lean beef; and lots of green vegetables. Nuts are not a problem. When we visit the grandkids, we always go out to eat. Anywhere is a good place. I just eat steak and salad – broccoli – but I don’t eat the potato. Or you can go to Abuelo’s and get baked fish with a broccoli medley and beans. It’s a very satisfying meal that sticks to my diet. Even if you go to a fast food, get a hamburger and throw the bun away. You can still limit your carbs. I don’t count carbs, I just don’t eat them. You get used to eating the food that is good for you and it becomes part of your life; and it has made a big difference in my life. My wife’s health is improving every day because it works, and we have no problem sticking to it. Now, teenagers are coming in diabetic and are rapidly progressing to insulin-requiring diabetes. All these teenagers are obese, and if you can teach them how to eat right, their insulin requirements go down. Some people can even be transferred back to oral medicine. The new insulins now are far superior to what we had before but they are expensive. People are buying test strips & insulin, and all those expenses add up. My patients who have diabetes come here every 3 months to monitor their blood sugar and HgbA1c, and I reinforce the low carb diet when their numbers are up. There are “good” carbs and “bad” carbs, and you can eat the good carbs within limits when your body is metabolically active and it won’t store fat. But basically, the goal is to stay away from the carbs. The patient I mentioned earlier is on the verge of aggressive insulin treatment because we are out of oral medicines for her. Sadly, she doesn’t know how to eat. She admitted that she had a Dr. Pepper and a piece of candy this morning. Her sugar was 232 but her average sugar is 177. I told her, that’s not what you need, you need to shoot for below 150. You need to learn how your body works, what you can eat, and what you need to stay away from. Once they gain that basic knowledge, it will nag them. I tell people that artificially sweetened soft drinks are not good for them. And that they don’t need a diet coke. Even flavored water has artificial sweeteners. So I tell them that if they want to flavor their water, use some lemon juice because it’s safe and natural. And that’s what I recommend. Dr. A: Is there anything else that you’d like to share? Dr. Mike: Life is short and you never know what’s going to happen to you. Today is today; so you need to not worry about the past or the future, you worry about today. Optimizing your health, you will feel better. Every morning, you can say “It’s another day, and it’s gonna be a good one!” JOIN US at http://MetabolicCoaching.NET/Diabetes for Reversing My Diabetes Monthly Webinar + 3 Months Follow Up. Being Diabetic is not an easy thing. Sticking yourself 2-4 times a day if not more, can hurt and leave bruising. At least on my fingers. So lets do this together. Let's take our morning readings everyday and put it on this page. I want to know what other diabetics readings are for the morning. That way we can compare and discuss what is going on with each other. Like this morning I knew mine was going to be high because I had a stressful situation before I ever got to take my morning reading. As a matter of fact, before I even got out of bed. Sure enough mine was high. You also get to see the beautiful flowers my youngest daughter got me for Mother's Day. :)

The NEJM published landmark research in 2002 showing that lifestyle is clearly more effective, IF - it involves intense lifestyle changes. This included 1-on-1 training for 6 months, a 7% weight loss, and over 150 minutes per week. Today we have found that HIIT, resistance training and low carb diets are also especially effective for preventing diabetes, heart attack, stroke, ED and dementia. ford brewer md mph . Best Diet for Type 2 Diabetes

01:05
http://healthylifestyletips.info/neuropathy ..Best diet for type 2 diabetes. Having diabetes does not mean you have to make an enemy of food and that your life is going to be boring from here on. It just means you will have to make better choices when it comes to food and it also means you should incorporate exercise into your life on a regular basis. Diabetes can be controlled by these measures and people can lead long and healthy lives as long as they follow the plans set forth by their physician and nutritionist. Following a diet on the low-glycemic food scale can help control blood sugar and the ability to manage diabetes better. Low-glycemic foods are those foods that don't raise the blood sugar significantly and that do not convert to glucose as quickly as high-glycemic foods. Some examples of low-glycemic foods include meats, green vegetables and some fruits such as berries and apples. High-glycemic foods can raise the blood sugar significantly and should be avoided on a regular basis. These include table sugar, syrups, potatoes, corn, white flour and breads. Foods with these items as ingredients should be avoided and learning to read labels and what ingredients contain glucose or glucose derivatives can help a person exclude these from their diet. A regular form of exercise such as walking, swimming and biking are great ways for diabetics to maintain their health and stabilize their blood sugar. A sedentary lifestyle is not healthy and can cause more problems for diabetics, so choosing a plan and sticking with it is what a person with diabetes needs to do. Through diet and exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle a person with diabetes can live a long and happy life. Having a stable blood sugar within range can help prevent future complications of diabetes also. http://healthylifestyletips.info/neuropathy ...Watch the video to know the fact...!!!
