Having a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast daily is another easy way to lower your high cholesterol level. The high soluble fiber content in oatmeal helps lower LDL. It reduces the absorption of cholesterol into your bloodstream. Fiber also fills you up quickly and helps you avoid mindless eating. The heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats and fiber in almonds help raise good HDL cholesterol and reduce the bad LDL levels. A 2011 study published in Nutrition Review found that consumption of tree nuts like almonds help reduce LDL cholesterol, a primary target for coronary disease prevention, by 3 to 19 percent. In addition, a 2015 study published in the Journal of American Heart Association states that daily almond consumption may be a simple dietary strategy to prevent the onset of cardio-metabolic diseases. Sweet, tangy and juicy oranges are another superfood that has cholesterol-lowering properties. In a 2000 study published in the American Society for Clinical Nutrition journal, researchers found that orange juice improves blood lipid profiles in people who have hypercholesterolemia. This happens due to the presence of vitamin C, folate and flavonoids like hesperidin in oranges. The omega-3 fatty acids called EPA and DHA found in salmon provide protection against high cholesterol. It helps lower triglycerides and boosts good HDL cholesterol slightly, thus lowering the risk of heart disease. In addition, salmon is low in cholesterol and saturated fat. Soybeans and other soy products offer a complete plant-based protein that is great for those who suffer from high cholesterol. Although soy may not lower total cholesterol to a great extent, it can still lower bad LDL cholesterol. This high-protein food contains high levels of polyunsaturated fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals as well as low levels of saturated fat. BLACK COFFEE & CHOLESTEROL Can Black Coffee Affect Your Cholesterol Levels
BLACK COFFEE & CHOLESTEROL Can Black Coffee Affect Your Cholesterol Levels. Coffee is a popular beverage that is heavily consumed in the United States. With a coffee shop on practically every corner, it is difficult not to join the coffee craze that has swept the nation. There are many varieties of coffees, but they are prepared in two main ways: filtered and unfiltered. Filtered coffees are the most common mode of preparation in the United States and involve brewing the coffee through a filter. Unfiltered coffees, also known as “boiled” coffees, do not employ a filter and include espresso, Turkish coffees, and French press coffees. Coffee contains many ingredients, most notably caffeine, chlorogenic acid, and chemicals called diterpenes. Many studies have examined the health benefits of coffee, paying particularly close attention to caffeine. Some studies have even suggested that drinking coffee may prevent diseases such as type II diabetes mellitus, Parkinson’s disease, certain types of liver cancer, and possibly improve your heart health by lowering your cholesterol and triglyceride levels. To date, coffee consumption has not been directly associated with cardiovascular disease, but some studies reveal that some forms of coffee may adversely affect your lipid profile. Although most studies have noted that filtered coffee has a neutral effect on lipid levels, unfiltered coffee appears to increase LDL, total cholesterol, and triglycerides in some studies. Two diterpenes found in high amounts in unfiltered coffee, cafestol, and kahweol, have been found to actually raise cholesterol levels. These studies examined different types of unfiltered coffee, as well as coffee oil. Most studies have indicated that individuals consuming roughly 60 milligrams of cafestol (equivalent to ten cups of unfiltered, French press coffee or two grams of coffee oil) may raise total cholesterol levels by an average of about 20%. This is largely due to an increase in low density lipoprotein (LDL) levels and triglyceride levels. High density lipoproteins (HDL) do not appear to be affected. It is thought that filtered coffee does not have this effect because the diterpenes are caught in the filter and not included in the coffee consumed. More studies are needed to examine the effect of coffee on lipid levels since the results from some of these studies have been mixed. In the meantime, if you are trying to watch your cholesterol and triglyceride levels, you may want to lower your consumption of unfiltered coffee beverages if you drink large amounts of this beverage frequently. Additionally, you should watch out for some of the things you are adding to your coffee. Heavy cream, sugar, chocolate syrup, and caramel can add calories to your coffee and could raise your cholesterol and triglyceride levels if you consume these items on a regular basis.

Foods that lower cholesterol fast - Eat These 4 Foods Every Day To Lower Your Cholesterol
Foods that lower cholesterol fast - Eat These 4 Foods Every Day To Lower Your Cholesterol Eat These 4 Foods Every Day To Lower Your Cholesterol What is cholesterol and what is its significance in your life? The fats in your blood have waxy substance in it known as cholesterol. Unfortunately, you can inherit high cholesterol. You can prevent it from getting worse, though, by working out or refraining from smoking. Eating a balanced diet is the best way to keep your cholesterol levels in check. Read on to find out what foods to eat to ensure your cholesterol levels stay within normal range. 1. Whole grains Examples of grain products are any food made from corn, oats, rice, wheat, or another cereal or grain. You can keep your cholesterol levels low by consuming a diet rich in brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa, rye, wild rice, and whole wheat. Whole grains are an excellent source of important vitaminssuch as folate, niacin, thiamin, and vitamin B2. Your blood will no longer be depleted of oxygen as whole grain increases iron levels. It is crucial that your iron levels are high since your body already struggles in transporting oxygen-rich blood because of your narrowed blood vessels. Hence, eating foods rich in viscous fiber like barley and oats can make all the difference. Why? They lower down LDL cholesterol levels (a.k.a. bad cholesterol) and the blood pressure aside from improving insulin response and glucose levels. You can also benefit from the prebiotic effect you can get from grains rich in insoluble fiber such aswheat because it normalizes blood pressure and glucose levels. You should never skip breakfast if you want your cholesterol levels to remain in normal range. Doing so likewise lowers down your caloric requirement for the entire day. Studies support this notion as your cholesterol levels can drop by4.6 points if you consume a lot of whole grains and a further 6.5 point reduction if you eat a lot of oats. The Apple-Cinnamon Granola is a great recipe for starters. Protect your heart and still be able to enjoy a tasty treat. It is better to make your own granola at home rather than purchase commercially sold ones to ensure it is low in sugar and thus healthy for your heart. 2. Apples The doctors were never wrong in promoting daily apple intake as it was also found that it is also helpful in keeping bad cholesterol at bay. It makes for a sweet snack as it contains antioxidants and pectin that reduces inflammation and reduce LDL cholesterol levels. These two conditions predispose you to premature aging and a long list of chronic and debilitating ailments. Aside from antioxidants, apples are also a good source of vitamins A and C that are helpful against deadly free radicals. FYI, free radicals are molecular by-products of digestion. Apple is also a good source of soluble fiber that helps in reducing blood sugar levels along with that of cholesterol.I 3. Garlic Not exactly the most pleasant scent you want to smell, garlic works wonder in fighting oxidation and reducing inflammation.Naturally rich in antioxidants, garlic fights oxidation thereby preventing the cells from getting damaged. It is also effective in stabilizing cholesterol and triglyceride levels, common complaints among the elderly. Mixingabout 20 grams of crushed garlic in lemon juice to prevent hyperlipidemia and maintain normal blood pressure, lipid, and fibrinogen levels in a group of people between the ages of 30-60 as shown in one study. 4. Dark chocolate This is perhaps the most exciting and sweetest solution to reducing high cholesterol levels. Chocolate is made of cocoa. There are certain chemicals in cocoa that protect the cells from pathogens. There was an 11% reduction of the LDL cholesterol levels among patients who participated in a study published in the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology. This result has been observed 15 days after they started taking 100 grams of dark chocolate daily. Take Everything in Moderation Your diet plays a huge role in maintaining normal cholesterol levels. Eating everything in moderation and preferring a diet high in healthy fruits and veggies and staying well hydrated is sometimes all you need. For better results, eat more whole grains, apple, garlic, and dark chocolate and you’ll soon start seeing positive results in your health. foods that lower cholesterol fast how to lower cholesterol cholesterol cholesterol diet how to reduce cholesterol lower cholesterol low cholesterol diet foods that lower cholesterol high cholesterol cholesterol levels how to lower your cholesterol how to lower cholesterol naturally how to control cholesterol high cholesterol foods high cholesterol diet ldl cholesterol reduce cholesterol how to reduce cholesterol naturally lower cholesterol naturally ways to lower cholesterol low cholesterol recipes how to lower cholesterol fast how to lower ldl how to reduce ldl cholesterol

Dark Chocolate For Bad Cholesterol Level
A high LDL cholesterol level is medically known as hypercholesterolemia. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over one-third of American adults have high levels of LDL or bad cholesterol. Dark chocolate can also effectively reduce bad cholesterol and improve the level of good cholesterol in the blood. According to a 2013 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the component theobromine in dark chocolate is mainly responsible for its HDL cholesterol-raising effect. The high level of antioxidants and flavonoids in dark chocolate prevent blood platelets from sticking together and keep the arteries unclogged. This in turn reduces the risk of heart attacks or strokes. Eat 1 or 2 small pieces of dark chocolate with at least 60 percent cocoa on a regular basis.

Lower Cholesterol - 7 Foods Can Help To Lower Your Cholesterol .
Please Click here To Get Program : https://lowercholesterol.healyourpain247.com Lower Cholesterol - 7 Foods to Help Lower LDL . It’s no secret that certain foods can help you lower your LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, which causes a buildup of plaque in the arteries that leads to heart disease, heart attacks, and stroke. But what may surprise you is that many of these foods are delicious and easy to incorporate into your everyday meals without sacrificing flavor or fun. Let go to these 7 foods : 1/ Chocolate . Dark chocolate contains flavonoids, antioxidants that help lower LDL levels. Just make sure to eat in moderation, as chocolate is also high in saturated fat and sugar. You can also use dark, unsweetened cocoa powder in your cooking to get similar heart-healthy effects. 2/ Avocados . There’s more to avocados than just guacamole. They give you oleic acid, which helps lower the bad cholesterol in your bloodstream. Avocado oil, which has a subtle, sweet flavor, can also be used in place of other oils in cooking. 3/ Tea . Both black and green teas contain powerful antioxidants that may reduce cholesterol levels. Green tea typically contains more of these antioxidant powerhouses, as it is made from unfermented leaves and is less processed. 4/ Wine . Red wine contains resveratrol, a substance found in the red grape skin, which may prevent damage to blood vessels by reducing the risk of blood clots and lowering LDL. Drinking too much alcohol can cause a host of other health issues, however; so while a glass of red wine at dinner is fine, don’t overdo it. 5/ Nuts. Nuts are high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, so almonds, walnuts, or pistachios can help reduce your LDL levels. Try sprinkling them on your salad, or eat them right out of hand as a snack. Just be sure to choose the low-salt option, and keep it to about 1.5 ounces a day -- nuts are also high in calories . 6/ Fruit . Pears and apples have a lot of pectin, which is a type of fiber that can lower cholesterol. So do citrus fruits like oranges and lemons. Berries are also high in fiber. 7/ Vegetables . Most vegetables are high in fiber and low in calories. Eggplant and okra contain high amounts of soluble fiber. Eggplants are also high in antioxidants. But any kind of vegetables will give you fiber and nutrients that are good for you. Beside these foods , do you know one secret food can help to lower your cholesterol easily ? 10 Foods to Avoid with High Cholesterol
1. Liver The amount of fats in your bloodstream remain higher than usual several hours after eating liver. Since your liver is the organ responsible for the production of cholesterol, consuming animal liver will boost your cholesterol levels. Liver is a great source of iron, but skip organ meats and choose lean cuts of meat instead. 2. Full-Fat Dairy Dairy products are known to be high in calcium, vitamin D and potassium. Your bones depend on these nutrients to remain strong and healthy. However, consuming whole-fat dairy products are high in cholesterol and saturated fat which can become a health hazard if you have high cholesterol levels. Replacing with low-fat or non-fat versions allows you to incorporate dairy products into your diet in a healthy way. 3. Fried Chicken Eating foods high in saturated fats is one of the main causes of high cholesterol circulating in your blood. Greasy, deep-fried chicken is one of the worst offenders if you are on a cholesterol-lowering diet. Deep frying - or pan frying- soaks up fat, adding extra calories which can aggravate your existing health condition. For a healthier option, prepare skinless chicken breast by grilling or baking to minimize the fat content. 4. French Fries White potatoes are rich in potassium and magnesium, two crucial minerals that contribute to multiple health benefits. French fries however, are usually fried in partially hydrogenated vegetable oil which contributes to trans-fats. These unhealthy fats build up cholesterol in the arteries, causing damage to the body cells and your heart. Prepare your potatoes by boiling or baking, a healthier option for your body. 5. Ice Cream Some of the best-tasting desserts are actually some of the worst when it comes to raising your cholesterol levels. Ice cream is made by a mixture containing high-fat milk or cream, glucose-based sweeteners, and flavorings such as chocolate or vanilla. This is definitely not a good food option to eat regularly if you're concerned about your cholesterol. An average serving of vanilla ice cream contains almost 5 grams of saturated fat, which makes up for a quarter of the maximum recommended daily intake. 6. Processed Meat Food products such as bacon, sausages, hot dogs and cold cuts are generally classified as unhealthy. Daily consumption of processed meat raises LDL (bad) cholesterol levels in the blood, increasing the risk of coronary heart disease. There is also growing evidence that links processed meats to diabetes and several types of cancer, particularly colon cancer. 7. Microwave Popcorn Popcorn is low in calories and high in fiber, preparing it the right way is in fact a healthy snack. However, microwave popcorn is loaded with salt, oil and butter that have the ability to increase cholesterol levels. When the bags of microwave popcorn are heated, they release particles that may be associated with health risks. Select air-popped variety, or pop the kernels yourself on the stove with olive oil. 8. Doughnuts Doughnuts taste so good, finding a way to resist them is no easy task. But, if you're serious about lowering your cholesterol level, bid farewell to doughnuts. These doughy treats usually come one way, and that way is deep-fried. Fried foods often contain lots of unsaturated and trans fats that lower your HDL (good) cholesterol and raise your LDL (bad) cholesterol. Chocolate: Benefits vs. Dangers | Is Theobromine Safe? - Thomas DeLauer
Chocolate: Benefits vs. Dangers | Is Theobromine Safe? - Thomas DeLauer: Learn the OTHER benefit of Chocolate! I'll teach you more about the foods that work for you at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Click to learn more. Theobromine and Fat Loss: Theobromine is the major alkaloid in cocoa, giving cocoa its bitter taste. Theobromine is the substance responsible for chocolate being toxic to dogs and some other mammals. Humans process theobromine differently, leading the many health benefits rather than toxicity. Cocoa consumption began in the Americas and spread to Europe in the 16th century. It was traditionally used both as food and medicine. Theobromine concentrations are higher in dark chocolate than milk chocolate or white chocolate. Cocoa nibs and cocoa powder have the highest concentrations. It is a substance known as a methylxanthine derivative. Caffeine is also a methylxanthine → caffeine and theobromine are similar in molecular structure. Our affinity for chocolate has to do with the combination of caffeine and theobromine. -A study had participants consume a drink with a capsule of either placebo or a caffeine/theobromine combination similar to that of chocolate. Those that consumed the drink with the caffeine and theobromine reported liking the beverage more. Just like caffeine, theobromine is a stimulant. This is due to their effect on adenosine receptors. These compounds act as adenosine antagonists, taking the place of adenosine on receptors in the brain. Theobromine is about 1/10th as effective as caffeine in the body, so it takes much more theobromine to feel its effects than caffeine. The half-life, the amount of time that it takes for your body to process ½ of a substance, of theobromine is about 6 to 10 hours, longer than that of caffeine. This means that theobromine stays around in the body for a long period of time after consumption. Theobromine is an anti-inflammatory and reduces oxidative stress in the body. It has been found to help with asthma symptoms. Theobromine has been found to increase HDL cholesterol and decrease LDL cholesterol. Theobromine has been found to affect DNA and RNA structure. The full impacts of this are not yet known, but it is hypothesized that this can inhibit or induce gene expression. -Caffeine has been found to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. -Thus theobromine may be effective to treat some diseases and could be used in future drugs Theobromine and Weight Loss: Theobromine may help to speed up weight loss, but not as noticeably as caffeine. As a mild stimulant this can give you the energy to go for a run or hit the gym. As a diuretic, this can help you to empty the contents of your stomach. Also may act to suppress appetite, reducing our likelihood to consume unhealthy foods at moments of temptation. The quantity of theobromine found in chocolate and other foods, such as coffee, are unlikely to be high enough for you to notice any weight loss impact through the above means, especially when compared to caffeine in coffee. However, there are so many other health benefits, and the more all-around healthy you are the more able you are to live an active lifestyle. One of these has to do with insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is the most likely way that theobromine may aid in weight loss. A 2005 study had volunteers consume dark chocolate for 15 days, and then white chocolate. Insulin sensitivity was increased during the dark chocolate period. Improved insulin sensitivity is crucial in weight loss. Can You Have too Much? Studies have found that the positive mood effects of theobromine turn negative when too much is consumed. Dark chocolate has roughly 200 to 300 mg of theobromine per 40 grams, so a typical 50 gram dark chocolate bar can be assumed to be at about 250 to 375 mg of theobromine. One study found 700 mg of theobromine lowered blood pressure, increased how interesting a task seemed and decreased calmness. Another study found that higher levels of theobromine, from 500 mg to 1000 mg, experienced more “dislike” feelings. So, eating one dark chocolate bar will likely lead to positive mood effects, but eating two or more could lead to negative effects. References: 1. top 7 Amazing Benefits of Dark Chocolate 2018 HD Youtube
1. Dark Chocolate is Very Nutritious If you buy quality dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, then it is actually quite nutritious. It contains a decent amount of soluble fiber and is loaded with minerals. A 100 gram bar of dark chocolate with 70-85% cocoa contains: 11 grams of fiber. 67% of the RDA for Iron. 58% of the RDA for Magnesium. 89% of the RDA for Copper. 98% of the RDA for Manganese. It also has plenty of potassium, phosphorus, zinc and selenium. Of course, 100 grams (3.5 ounces) is a fairly large amount and not something you should be consuming daily. All these nutrients also come with 600 calories and moderate amounts of sugar. For this reason, dark chocolate is best consumed in moderation. The fatty acid profile of cocoa and dark chocolate is excellent. The fats are mostly saturated and monounsaturated, with small amounts of polyunsaturates. It also contains stimulants like caffeine and theobromine, but is unlikely to keep you awake at night as the amount of caffeine is very small compared to coffee. Bottom Line: Quality dark chocolate is rich in Fiber, Iron, Magnesium, Copper, Manganese and a few other minerals. 2.Dark Chocolate is a Powerful Source of Antioxidants Have you ever heard of a measure called ORAC? ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. It is a measure of the antioxidant activity of foods. Basically, researchers pit a bunch of free radicals (bad) against a sample of food and see how well the antioxidants in the food can “disarm” them. The biological relevance of this metric is questioned, because it’s done in a test tube and may not have the same effect in the body. However, I think it is worth mentioning that raw, unprocessed cocoa beans are among the highest scoring foods that have been tested. Dark chocolate is loaded with organic compounds that are biologically active and function as antioxidants. These include polyphenols, flavanols, catechins, among others. One study showed that cocoa and dark chocolate contained more antioxidant activity, polyphenols and flavanols than other fruits they tested, which included blueberries and Acai berries. Bottom Line: Cocoa and dark chocolate have a wide variety of powerful antioxidants, way more than most other foods. 3. Dark Chocolate May Improve Blood Flow and Lower Blood Pressure The flavanols in dark chocolate can stimulate the endothelium, the lining of arteries, to produce Nitric Oxide (NO), which is a gas. One of the functions of NO is to send signals to the arteries to relax, which lowers resistance to blood flow and therefore reduces blood pressure. There are many controlled trials showing that cocoa and dark chocolate can improve blood flow and lower blood pressure, but the effects are usually mild. However, there is also one study in people with elevated blood pressure that showed no effect, so take all this with a grain of salt. 4. Dark Chocolate Raises HDL and Protects LDL Against Oxidation Consuming dark chocolate can improve several important risk factors for heart disease. In a controlled trial, cocoa powder was found to significantly decrease oxidized LDL cholesterol in men. It also increased HDL and lowered total LDL in men with elevated cholesterol. Oxidized LDL means that the LDL (“bad” cholesterol) has reacted with free radicals. This makes the LDL particle itself reactive and capable of damaging other tissues… such as the lining of the arteries in your heart. It makes perfect sense that cocoa lowers oxidized LDL. It contains an abundance of powerful antioxidants that do make it into the bloodstream and protect lipoproteins against oxidative damage. Dark chocolate can also reduce insulin resistance, which is another common risk factor for many diseases like heart disease and diabetes. Bottom Line: Dark chocolate improves several important risk factors for disease. It lowers the susceptibility of LDL to oxidative damage while increasing HDL and improving insulin sensitivity. 5. Dark Chocolate May Lower The Risk of Cardiovascular Disease The compounds in dark chocolate appear to be highly protective against the oxidation of LDL. In the long term, this should cause much less cholesterol to lodge Hi welcome to my channel where I upload best Health and fitness videos Please leave a like!, Comment and Subscribe! How to Lower Cholesterol Naturally - Foods That Lower Cholesterol Naturally
How to Lower Cholesterol Naturally - Foods That Lower Cholesterol Naturally If you're already eating plenty of the following foods that lower cholesterol naturally, keep up the good work! But if your idea of eating well is to opt for the "buttered popcorn" instead of the "extra buttered popcorn," consider adding these healthy choices to your diet. Oats If you're looking to lower your cholesterol, the key may be simply changing your morning meal. Switching up your breakfast to contain two servings of oats can lower LDL ("bad") cholesterol by 5.3% in only 6 weeks. The key to this cholesterol buster is beta-glucan, a substance in oats that absorbs LDL, which your body then excretes. Banish bland oats with this dessert-worthy ginergersnap oatmeal recipe. Red wine Scientists are giving us yet another reason to drink to our health. It turns out that high-fiber Tempranillo red grapes, used to make red wine like Rioja, may actually significantly lower cholesterol levels. A study conducted by the department of metabolism and nutrition at Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain found that when individuals consumed the same grape supplement found in red wine, their LDL levels decreased by 9%. In addition, those who had high cholesterol going into the study saw a 12% drop in LDL. So go ahead and drink a glass for that cholesterol-lowering benefit. Salmon & fatty fish Omega-3 fats are one of the natural health wonders of the world and have been shown to ward off heart disease, dementia, and many other diseases. Now these fatty acids can add yet another health benefit to their repertoire: lowering cholesterol. According to research from Loma Linda University, replacing saturated fats with omega-3s like those found in salmon, sardines, and herring can raise good cholesterol as much as 4%. (Here's everything you need to know about buying the healthiest fish possible.) Nuts If you're looking for a snack food that lowers cholesterol levels, research shows that you should get cracking! In a study published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people who noshed on 1.5 oz of whole walnuts 6 days a week for 1 month lowered their total cholesterol by 5.4% and LDL cholesterol by 9.3%. Almonds and cashews are other good options. However, while nuts are heart healthy, they're also high in calories, so practice portion control—1.5 oz is about a shot glass and a half. Use a shot glass to measure out your portion so you can see exactly how it looks. (Here's what happens if you eat too many nuts.) Tea While tea has become well known for its cancer-fighting antioxidants, it is also a great defense against high LDL cholesterol levels. According to research conducted with the USDA, black tea has been shown to reduce blood lipids by up to 10% in only 3 weeks. These findings were concluded in a larger study of how tea may also help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. (Here's how to make the perfect cup of tea every time.) Beans Beans, beans—they really are good for your heart. Researchers at Arizona State University Polytechnic found that adding ½ cup of beans to soup lowers total cholesterol, including LDL, by up to 8%. The key to this heart-healthy food is its abundance of fiber, which has been shown to slow the rate and amount of absorption of cholesterol in certain foods. Try black, kidney, or pinto beans; each supplies about one-third of your daily fiber needs. Chocolate Yes! This powerful antioxidant helps build HDL ("good") cholesterol levels. In a 2007 study published in AJCN, participants who were given cocoa powder had a 24% increase in HDL levels over 12 weeks, compared with a 5% increase in the control group. Remember to choose the dark or bittersweet kind. Compared to milk chocolate, it has more than 3 times as many antioxidants, which prevent blood platelets from sticking together and may even keep arteries unclogged. Margarine Switching to a margarine with plant sterols, such as Promise activ or Benecol, could help lower cholesterol. Plant sterols are compounds that reduce cholesterol absorption; a study published in AJCN found that women who had a higher plant sterol–based diet were able to lower total cholesterol by 3.5%. Garlic Aside from adding zing to almost any dish, garlic makes the list of foods that lower cholesterol; it's also been found to prevent blood clots, reduce blood pressure, and protect against infections. Now research finds that it helps stop artery-clogging plaque at its earliest stage by keeping cholesterol particles from sticking to artery walls. Try for 2 to 4 fresh cloves a day. Olive oil Good news: This common cooking ingredient can help your health. Olive oil is full of heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), which lower LDL cholesterol—and have the welcome side effect of trimming belly fat. Use it to make your own salad dressings, marinate chicken and fish, or roast vegetables.

Home remedies for CHOLESTEROL CONTROL. LEARN how to LOWER CHOLESTEROL LEVELS naturally. Many of us are ignorant about how to reduce high cholesterol levels naturally! What Is Cholesterol: Cholesterol is both  good and bad for the body. Within normal levels, it is a great   substance for the body's normal functioning.  If the levels in the blood increase, cholesterol can be dangerous and can cause a heart attack. Every cell of the body has cholesterol. It is produced by the body but can also be obtained from food. It is waxy and fat-like in appearance.  Cholesterol is oil-based. It does not mix with the blood, which is water-based. It is transported through the body by two kinds of lipoproteins which are HDL(high-density lipoprotein) and LDL(low-density lipoprotein). Causes of Cholesterol:  High levels of LDL(low-density lipoprotein) result in an increase of cholesterol in the arteries, whereas HDL(high-density lipoprotein) carries cholesterol to the liver for removal from the body. High cholesterol levels narrow the arteries. This is called atherosclerosis, by which plaques form and cause restriction of blood flow.  An unhealthy diet and lack of exercise are also factors that contribute to bad Cholesterol.  How To Lower Cholesterol : Here are some healthy foods that reduce lower Cholesterol levels in the body.  Consume 2 servings of oats for breakfast daily.  If you are looking for more foods that will lower your cholesterol levels, then opt for Nuts. If you eat 1.5 ounces of walnuts, 6 days a week for a month, cholesterol will come down by 5.4%.  Consumption of tea also helps in lowering cholesterol levels. Health benefits of dark chocolate
Health benefits of dark chocolate.1) Chocolate lowers cholesterol According to one study, published in The Journal of Nutrition, chocolate consumption might help reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, also known as "bad fats." The team of researchers set out to investigate whether chocolate bars containing plant sterols (PS) and cocoa flavanols (CF) have any effect on cholesterol levels. The study authors wrote, "results indicate that regular consumption of chocolate bars containing PS and CF, as part of a low-fat diet, may support cardiovascular health by lowering cholesterol and improving blood pressure." 2) Chocolate may prevent memory decline Scientists at Harvard Medical School suggest that drinking two cups of hot chocolate a day could help keep the brain healthy and reduce memory decline in older people. The researchers found that hot chocolate helped improve blood flow to parts of the brain where it was needed. The lead author, Farzaneh A. Sorond, said: "As different areas of the brain need more energy to complete their tasks, they also need greater blood flow. This relationship, called neurovascular coupling, may play an important role in diseases such as Alzheimer's." In a further study, published in 2014, researchers found that a cocoa extract - called lavado - could, perhaps, reduce or prevent damage to nerve pathways found in patients with Alzheimer's disease. This means that symptoms of the condition - such as cognitive decline - could be slowed. 3) Chocolate and heart disease risk Research, published in The BMJ, suggests that consuming chocolate could help lower the risk of developing heart disease by one-third. The report was presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress in Paris, France. The authors concluded: "Based on observational evidence, levels of chocolate consumption seem to be associated with a substantial reduction in the risk of cardiometabolic disorders. Further experimental studies are required to confirm a potentially beneficial effect of chocolate consumption." 4) Chocolate and stroke Canadian scientists carried out a study involving 44,489 individuals and found that people eating chocolate were 22 percent less likely to suffer a stroke than those who didn't. Also, those who had a stroke but regularly consumed chocolate were 46 percent less likely to die as a result. In a further study, published in the journal Heart in 2015, researchers tracked the impact of diet on the long-term health of 25,000 men and women. The findings suggested that eating up to 100 grams of chocolate each day may be linked to a lower risk of heart disease and stroke. Other chocolate benefits in brief Over recent years, there has been a great deal of interest in chocolate and its potential health effects. Below are some examples; links to the Medical News Today articles are in the text: Eating chocolate during pregnancy may benefit fetal growth and development. Chocolate may streamline cognitive function A study published in the journal Appetite, suggests eating chocolate at least once weekly has the potential to improve cognitive function. Dark chocolate: a boost for athletes' performance? Too sporty to indulge in chocolate? Think again, says research published in The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. The findings suggest that a little dark chocolate might improve performance in fitness training. Daily chocolate intake linked to lower risk of diabetes, heart disease In the future, could a doctor's visit result in a prescription for chocolate? According to a new study, it is possible. Researchers suggest that consuming a small amount of chocolate every day could lower the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Healthier Alternatives to Sugar
Hello! My Tribe So we already know that cutting out sugar is one of the best moves you can make for your health, but if you’ve got a serious sweet tooth – like I have – then it’s a lot harder than it seems. Whether it’s a late night craving or a bit of workday stress, having a sweet tooth can be a struggle if you’re trying to keep a healthy diet. While a few treats here and there won’t completely derail your healthy eating efforts, they aren’t something you should have every day. If your need for sweet treats seems like it’s too much to overcome, consider swapping the sugar for one of these healthier alternatives. So today I’m going to list down some substitutes that you can have when you get the sweet craving, instead of indulging in wholesome dessert. Fresh Fruits Most fruits have enough sugar to satisfy your cravings and are a lot healthier – especially if it’s organic. If you’ve got a serious craving, cut up some of your favourite fruits and make a healthy salad out of it and relish! Frozen Banana or Banana Ice Cream Frozen bananas are like eating a banana popsicle and are great for after your workout when you want to cool down and have a sweet craving. If you want to take it to the next level, though I wouldn’t recommend it so often, dip that banana in dark chocolate – 80% cacao or greater – which will pack in all the benefits from the delicious cocoa bean. You can also have a simple banana ice cream treat. All you need is one ingredient which is delicious and healthy and though it will add some calories, it will not hamper your health like refined sugar. Dark Chocolate Dark chocolate as opposed to the usual sugar-laden milk-chocolates, if had in moderation can be very healthy. The secret is to get your chocolate dark. And when I say dark, I mean 80% dark or more cocoa. Though it’s not as sweet as your typical chocolate, it goes well with things which are a little sweet on their own like fruits. Frozen Granola Bites Granola is yummy! But you know what’s better than just your run-of-the-mill granola? A mix of granola and yogurt without a lot of added sugar. You can also use some dark chocolate to make it more indulgent. Acai Berry Bowls Made by the antioxidant filled superfood acai berry and covered in delicious fresh fruit, acai bowls look like the perfect snack when you need something sweet. They are high in fiber and low in cholesterol since it is plant based. They are also low in sodium. With fresh fruit toppings this treat also provide several other vitamins and minerals of their own. Acai bowls are one of my favourite delicious treats that can reduce sweet cravings. But remember, these should be enjoyed in moderation and not as an everyday meal. Blueberry Almond Butter Smoothie Smoothies are our savior when it comes to health! Whether it’s an on-the-go meal or a sweet craving, smoothies can really do the trick. Blueberries are rich in calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, manganese, zinc, and vitamin K, which help improve bone health and almond butter offers antioxidant action from Vitamin E and helps lower cholesterol. So both the ingredients are tasty as well as nutritious and are sweet enough to satisfy your sugar craving. Plus the protein from the almond butter will keep you feeling full for longer. Healthy Chocolate Covered Strawberries Strawberries + chocolate. Now who can resist that? Make sure you have more of strawberries and less of chocolate to reduce the calories. And also make sure you have dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. This is a healthy dessert since strawberries are packed with vitamins and minerals such as vitamins C and K, folate, potassium, manganese, and magnesium. They are low-calorie, fiber-rich fruits, which are abundant in antioxidants. So indulge in this treat guilt free. What are your favorite ways to satisfy your sweet tooth? I would love to know your options. If you liked this video, do leave your feedback in the comments box. And don’t forget to subscribe!
