However, I’ve noticed I started having erectile problems. Things don’t seem to work as well. In fact, I’m just not in the “mood” or have the drive for sex like I used to. Do you think the statin drug is the cause? =============================== Links for the refferences: 1. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4023379/ 2. http://www.webmd.com/erectile-dysfunction/news/20100416/statins_may_lower_testosterone_libido Hi Daniel. To answer your question - YES! In fact, it’s been clinically shown that statin cholesterol lowering drugs do in fact, cause erection problems and impotence.1 And this is because statin drugs lower cholesterol by blocking the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in your liver, that is responsible for making cholesterol. Unfortunately, cholesterol is required to make your “sex hormones” in both men and women, such as testosterone, estrogens, etc. And these hormones, especially testosterone, is required for your sex drive, libido, erections and an orgasm. In fact, in addition to erectile problems, both men and women taking statin drugs, report having difficulty reaching an orgasm.2 Another common side-effect with statin drugs is depression. And let’s be honest, when you’re not feeling happy or excited, then you’re not feeling “sexual” and you just don’t care or have the DESIRE to have sex, right?... One thing I’d like to point out on the OPPOSITE side of this story and that’s having very high cholesterol can ALSO cause erectile dysfunction. This is because of plaque build-up in your arteries, leading to poor blood flow and circulation. So your goal is to have healthy cholesterol levels - not too high or low. You want to do it naturally, without the use of drugs such as statins. The truth is, 98% of people do NOT need statin drugs to lower cholesterol. I know this because I dealt with this problem back in 1998 with both my parents. You can easily do it naturally. A healthy diet, regular exercise program and more importantly, the specific use of clinically proven herbs can dramatically lower your cholesterol naturally, while ALSO improving your sex drive and libido. ↓ 5 Important & Clinically Proven Reasons You Should NOT Take Statin Drugs

06:33
How my parents lowered their cholesterol by 30 pts in 30 days - no diets or drugs. An all natural alternative to statin drugs. ►►►http://drsam.co/yt/NoMoreStatin =============================== 5 Important & Clinically Proven Reasons You Should NOT Take Statin Drugs =============================== Statins are HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. They work by blocking the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in your liver, that is responsible for making cholesterol. Now, this is very important topic to me personally, because over 15+ years ago my parent’s were prescribed these toxic drugs and they had a ton of negative side-effects. Unfortunately back then, we didn’t have all the data we have now. The pharmaceutical companies did a great job of hiding them. Today I’m going to reveal the top 5, clinically proven reasons, why you should NOT take statin drugs and one of my favorite, natural alternatives that my own parents use. Reason #1 - They DON’T Work! Statin drugs DO lower your cholesterol levels, but don’t think they lower your risk of heart disease, heart attacks or strokes. Based on the statistics of “Relative Risk Reduction (RRR)”, statins reduce the risk for only 1% of the population - that’s it!8 Reason #2 - Increase Your Risk Major Disease, Including Cancer! Statins increase your risk for diabetes. And what’s interesting is that over 50% of people who have heart disease, have elevated glucose and blood sugar levels. So the irony is that the statin drugs will indirectly INCREASE your risk of heart disease by increasing your blood sugar levels. Statins also cause neurodegenerative diseases, such as memory loss, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s. Statins also cause musculoskeletal disorders, leading to muscle pain and weakness (myalgia), muscle cramps and other muscular problems. Statins also cause cataracts, which is a clouding of your eye lens and is a main cause of low vision among the elderly. Finally, statin drugs are known to cause cancer. Reason #3 - Deplete Important Nutrients Statin drugs deplete two very important nutrients in your body. The first is Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is used for energy production by every cell in your body, and is therefore vital for good health, high energy levels, longevity, and general quality of life. What’s important to know is that your heart is the most energy-demanding organ in your body. By depleting CoQ10, your heart slowly becomes weaker and ages faster. In addition to CoQ10, statin drug also reduce Vitamin K2. This is important for you to know because Vitamin K2 protects your arteries from calcification. Without it, plaque levels worsen. Reason #4 - Liver Problems & Toxicity Of all the negative side-effects associated with statin drugs, the most common was “drug induced liver injury”… This accounts for a whopping 57% of all statin related “adverse drug reactions”, which included potentially severe and some cases, deadly consequences such as: Death from acute liver failure Liver transplantation Jaundice Liver problems are so bad with statin drugs that each year there are millions of people diagnosed “moderate to serious liver dysfunction”! Remember, your liver detoxifies and cleanses your entire body. Poor liver function greatly accelerates aging! Reason #5 - Natural Alternatives Exist You don’t need to take statin drugs because natural alternatives already exist. Nature already has the answers, NOT the pharmaceutical companies. I’m sure you already know this…. Drugs can be used SHORT-TERM, to quickly improve a health problem … TEMPORARILY. But positive, long-term benefits can only be seen and felt using natural means. This way, you have a proven, simple and convenient solution for your high cholesterol, while being so much safer than statin drugs. FDA Warns Statins Increase Blood Sugar and Cause Memory Problems

04:44
The FDA has officially linked all statins with cognitive problems like forgetfullness and confusion as well as with a 25% increased risk for an elevated blood sugar level and possible association with type 2 diabetes. Statins are the best selling drugs on the market and are used by 21 million people in the US each year. Of course, there are all the other side effects as well that include liver disease, peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, muscle pain, kidney failure and erectile dysfunction and gynecomastia. New information shows statins can cause mitochondrial dysfunction that leads to a defect in energy production and decreased oxygen utilization. In addition we know that absorption of coenzyme Q10 is is blocked by these CoA reductase inhibitors as well and that this can lead to a cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. We need cholesterol for a number of functions that include production of vitamin D, many hormones, neurotransmitters, and cell membranes. For more information please visit www.doctorsaputo.com

WARNING! Cholesterol Drugs Found To Increase Risk Of Muscle Pain, Cell Damage, And Memory Loss!

02:40
WARNING! Cholesterol Drugs Found To Increase Risk Of Muscle Pain, Cell Damage, And Memory Loss! Have you ever heard of someone using Lipitor, Zocor and Crestor? Do you use these cholesterol drugs? If yes, make sure you finish reading this article. Statins are the most common prescription drugs Americans use. Health experts want you to believe that statins are the only solution to unhealthy cholesterol levels. Negative effects A group of Harvard cardiologists were worried about the current cholesterol guidelines. It turns out that statins can cause numerous side-effects, including: Muscle ache, damage and soreness Mitochondrial damage Type 2 diabetes Memory loss and other neurological problems Sexual dysfunction Researchers recognized the mistakes from previous studies, and patients received statins despite the fact they didn’t use any. This was quite dangerous, due to the fact that statins may cause serious harm, and lots of cardiologists stand with this one. Over 20% of all statin users experience muscle pain, damage, soreness, and high muscle enzymes. Statins contain substances that can poison mitochondria, and hence age your overall well-being and natural aging. Statins damage mitochondria and might even kill the cell completely. Another group of scientists observed the effect of statins in overweight people who sit for too many hours during the day. Participants followed a specific exercise program, and half of them received statins. It turns out that the statin-receiving group had no improvement in their physical fitness level. Moreover, those participants didn’t have any improvement in their physical condition. It was as if they didn’t do any exercise at all. Muscle biopsies showed the energy-production capacity in the cells of these people was reduced by 4.5 percent. It’s worth noticing that the condition of these people got even worse. Every statin user needs to understand this. We will witness a serious backlash against statins in future. Well, we have already seen some of the awful symptoms common in statin users. Statin alternatives Do a thorough Internet research, and find a much healthier alternative to statins. Learn how to boost your good cholesterol, and lower the bad one. Your heart matters, so take a great care of it.

Do Statins Cause Permanet Muscle Fatigue

https://www.TendonitisExpert.com/is-muscle-fatigue-from-statins-permanent.html Do Statins like Lipitor cause permanent muscle fatigue, muscle cramp, muscle ache, muscle pain? Yes and no is the answer. Statins deplete the body of magnesium, so if you replace that magnesium, then you won't have muscle fatigue issues. Sorry for the extra noise, need plug in a microphone.

Statins Linked to Low Testosterone

03:57
Statins are the Most Prescribed Drug in History By Far. If you are taking Statins, your health and even your manhood may be destroyed in the process. Find out more about this article in https://agelikeaman.com/ I am not a doctor or giving medical advice, however I urge you to dig deeper into this class of drug and make an informed decision about your health. Statins are taken by more people than any other prescription drug in the history of mankind. There are many startling things about that statement. Firstly, the connections between cholesterol and heart disease have been misinterpreted and misunderstood for years. Yet rates of heart disease continue to climb. And yet the the AMA recommends routinely prescribing statins for people with a risk of heart disease as low as 7%! That is a third of the entire population. With their track record, what makes the healthcare industry think they have a handle on this? What is wrong with this picture? The well-published side effects are liver damage and muscle weakness. A much lesser discussed side effect is lower testosterone and libido. I suppose that would not be great for sales to read that as a disclaimer. Yes, statin use has been linked to low testosterone and lower libido. It only make sense. It lowers cholesterol - the substance that your testicles use to make testosterone. And it compromises liver function - your liver removes estrogen from your body. Is it a big surprise that statins lower testosterone? Well if so, your doctor can prescribe Viagra and Androgel. I have never been a conspiracy theorist, but this stinks. A big part of this problem stems from doctors who follow the guidelines faithfully because it's easy and it minimizes any liability on their part. But as far as the drug companies are concerned - it is pure profit. Tens of billions per year and drastically rising. Is it any wonder that men's testosterone levels have been plummeting? There is a direct link between heart disease and low testosterone. Most studies conclude that therefore heart disease causes low T - that low T is a symptom. Correlation can be determined, but what about causality? Could low T effect your heart? It is a question that doesn't seem to be asked enough.

Sacred Truth Ep. 47: Statins - Don't Believe All You're Told

08:00
To learn more: http://lesliekenton.com/health/video/sacred-truth-ep-47-statins-dont-believe-all-youre-told/ I continue to be horrified by guidelines issued by the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology, which speak of giving statin drugs to healthy people. Meanwhile, draft recommendations from the US Preventive Task Force have issued new directives claiming that healthy people should be taking statin drugs as a “preventative against possible future illness.” Their main plan is to see one third of all adults in the United States are put on statin drugs—44% of all men and 22% of all women—even if none of these people have ever had a previous heart attack or stroke. Statins are the most widely prescribed drugs on the market. One in four Americans over 45 are already on statins, despite more than 900 studies reporting dangerous side effects from these drugs. These range from heightened risks of cancer and diabetes to sexual problems, neuropathy, and liver dysfunction, as well as immune system suppression, and even a higher risk of cataracts. In Britain too, statins are the most commonly prescribed drugs, costing the NMS £450 million a year. Now 40% of adults (175 million people) are being advised to take the drug. If the new directives are put into practice by the UK medical establishment—as they are likely to be—the numbers of men and women being prescribed statins could well become legion. What are statins anyway? Statins are a group of drugs prescribed to lower cholesterol levels by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a central role in the production of cholesterol in the liver. Statins have many different names, such as Lipitor, Lescol, Mevacor, Altocor, and Zocor. These drugs are prescribed on the assumption that they will lower the risks of cardiovascular events and strokes. The new directives assert that, if given to healthy people, they could help protect the population from heart attacks and strokes at some time in the future. Happily, a growing number of cardiologists are strongly opposed to the new directives. What’s the problem with statins? Plenty: • They deplete your body of CoQ10, which is essential for every cell in your body, and ubiquinol. Both CoQ10 and ubiquinol keep the so-called bad cholesterol from doing harm to your body. However, very few mainstream doctors are ever aware of these dangers. One exception is cardiologist Steven Sinatra, founder of the New England Heart Center. Sinatra recommends that anyone taking statins should take between 100 and 200 mg of CoQ10 or ubiquinol each day as protection. • Statins lower Vitamin K2 in the body. This puts you at risk of deficiency of this vitamin, which contributes to chronic diseases, such as osteoporosis, cancer, and brain disease. • Long-term statin use—10 years or so—has been shown to increase your risk of diabetes, neurogenerative diseases, musculoskeletal problems, and even cataracts. Dr. Eric Topol, highly respected cardiologist and Professor of Genomics at Scripps Research Institute in California, wrote an excellent article for The New York Times Opinion Page in which he warns: “We’re overdosing on cholesterol-lowering statins.” Topol is especially concerned about the sharp increase in the prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes that is occurring in people using them. He writes: “Statins have been available since the 1980s but their risk of inducing diabetes did not surface for nearly 20 years. When all the data available from multiple studies was pooled in 2010 for more than 91,000 patients randomly assigned to be treated with a statin or a sugar pill (placebo), the risk of developing diabetes with any statin was one in every 255 patients treated. But this figure is misleading since it includes weaker statins like Pravachol and Mevacor—which were introduced earlier and do not carry any clear-cut risk. It is only with the more potent statins—Zocor (now known as simvastatin), Lipitor (atorvastatin), and Crestor (rosuvastatin)—particularly at higher doses—that the risk of diabetes shows up. The cause and effect was unequivocal because the multiple large trials of the more potent statins had a consistent excess of diabetes.” Meanwhile, a recent study by Jean A. McDougall and her colleagues in the Journal of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention reveals that long-term use of statins increases the risk of both lobular and ductal breast cancer in women between 55 and 74. Are Statins Castrating Men?

08:22
In an editorial published in GreenMedInfo.com, Sayer Ji reviewed an article published in the July 2014 issue of Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology on the effects of 10 mg of Lipitor after 5 months of treatment in 17 normal men with normal cholesterol values. They found major abnormalities in both sperm morphology and function as well as in the seminal fluid that would be expected to interfere with fertilization. Big pharma's responsibility is to its stock holders, not to the people who purchase them. They are also well known to fund research and interpret their findings in ways that make the product look much better than it really is. Several examples are mentioned. There is a place for using statins, but it is far smaller than lifestyle oriented medicine. It would be for those patients who have already had a heart attack or stroke and who will not adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Statin Drugs More Beneficil Than Harmful?

Researchers say concerns about potential side effects from statin drugs are overblown based on their relatively low risk compared to the overwhelming evidence the drugs prevent adverse health events at very high rates, according to a new review and comparison of studies. Photo by Rob Hyrons/Shutterstock OXFORD, England, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Fears over potential side effects of taking statin drugs to lower cholesterol are overblown, say researchers, and for some patients may obscure the much larger benefits of preventing heart attack or other adverse cardiovascular health event. http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2016/09/09/Study-Statin-drug-benefits-understated-risks-overstated/2041473432664/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Statins can increase the risk of heart attacks and there is no evidence to support patients taking them, warn researchers The report suggests statins are more likely to cause calcium in the arteries Statins block production of vitamin K, which stops calcification of the heart Report suggests there is 'no evidence' to support people taking drug Around 12 million people in the UK take statins to lower cholesterol By SHARI MILLER FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 15:33, 10 January 2016 | UPDATED: 18:05, 10 January 2016 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/art... A new report suggests people are actually at greater risk of a heart attack if they take statins A new report suggests people are actually at greater risk of a heart attack if they take statins Statins, which are designed to help protect people from heart failure, can actually increase the risk of a heart attack according to a new study. Researchers say the drugs, which are taken by around 12 million patients in the UK, are more likely to cause calcium deposits in the arteries, which can lead to a heart attack. Statins were developed to lower cholesterol, but they also block a molecule needed to produce vitamin K, which prevents calcification of the arteries. The author of the report, published in Expert Review of Clinical Pharmacology, says there is 'no evidence to support people taking statins', which opponents say also cause other health issues including skeletal weakness and muscle pain. Professor Harumi Okuyama, of Nagoya City University, Japan, told the Sunday Express:'We have collected a wealth of information on cholesterol and statins from many published papers and find overwhelming evidence that these drugs accelerate hardening of the arteries and can cause, or worsen, heart failure.' Similarly, Dr Peter Langsjoen, a heart specialist based in Texas who is co-author of the study, said: 'These drugs should never have been approved for use. The long-term effects are devastating.' However, there is plenty of support for statins within the medical profession and the drugs are considered to generally lower cholesterol levels by 25 to 35 per cent. The medications Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor and other statins have been the standard treatment for lowering cholesterol for more than 20 years. Those pills work by curbing the production of cholesterol in the liver. Statins have also long been recommended for people who already have heart disease and have been credited with helping to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. A spokesman for MHRA, the Government drug regulator, said: 'The benefits of statins are well established and are considered to outweigh the risk of side effects in the majority of patients.' Last year, NHS watchdog NICE encouraged GPs to prescribe the cholesterol-busting drugs to anyone with a 10 per cent chance of having a heart attack. That change has resulted in 17million adults - nearly all people over the age of 40 - now being eligible to take the drugs.

Citrulline: What is it? What's it used for? Does it help with NO? ED? athletics?

09:15
ford brewer md mph . PrevMedHeartRisk.com Citrulline was named for citrullus, or watermelon. It is converted by the kidneys to L-arginine and NO, or Nitric Oxide. Nitric Oxide is essential for the health of the artery. It feeds the inner lining of the artery, the intima. Diabetes, periodontal disease and other causes of arterial inflammation, or CV inflammation. Pics show the intima layer and deposition of plaque, also immune system inflammation of plaque. Therefore, NO is critical to arterial health. Anything that improves NO, can have a huge impact on health. Citrulline is therefore used for many things: erectile dysfunction, body building, cycling and other athletics, high blood pressure or hypertension, and even diabetes. The molecule is similar to urea and a part of the urea cycle. The urea cycle fills several functions biologically. One of the most important is excretion of ammonia. About Dr. Brewer - Ford Brewer is a physician that started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many patients coming in dead from early heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. He went on the run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine at Hopkins. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has over 500 primary care/ prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack, stroke, and diabetes prevention clinic. At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack and stroke and Type 2 diabetes prevention by reducing or eliminating risk through attentive care and state-of-the-art genetic testing, imaging, labs and telemedicine options. Diuretics, β-blockers, and statins in increasing the risk of diabetes

05:47
Read the full article online: http://www.bmj.com/content/347/bmj.f6745 The use of β blockers, diuretics, and statins has been established to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in a variety of diseases. However, although statins reduce cardiovascular events and mortality in patients with coronary artery disease or equivalent risk factors, debate continues about their role in primary prevention in lower risk populations. Despite the overwhelming benefits of these drugs on cardiovascular outcomes, recent evidence suggests that long term use may increase the risk of diabetes. Large trials examining cardiovascular outcomes and mortalities suggested an increased incidence of new onset diabetes with long term use of diuretics. Likewise, other studies have reported an increased incidence of diabetes in people treated with statins, prompting the US Food and Drug Administration to release a safety label change in 2012. Furthermore, β blockers have been implicated in impaired glucose metabolism, especially with diuretics. Large scale studies with serial glucose measurements examining the association between these drugs and new onset diabetes in patients with impaired glucose tolerance are limited. We reanalysed data from the Nateglinide and Valsartan in Impaired Glucose Tolerance Outcomes Research (NAVIGATOR) study to examine the relation between risk of new onset diabetes and use of β blockers, thiazide diuretics, or statins in treatment naïve patients. In this study, the researchers set out to examine the degree to which use of β blockers, statins, and diuretics in patients with impaired glucose tolerance and other cardiovascular risk factors is associated with new onset diabetes.

New evidence suggests they could also help some patients' sight. If those patients have age-related macular degeneration (AMD), statins in high doses may improve their vision and fight underlying factors that can contribute to the eye condition, a new phase I/phase II trial found. AMD is among the most common causes of blindness. The progressive eye disease is tied to deposits of fatty proteins under the retina in the eye. Symptoms include blurred vision and partial blindness.

Millions of people around the world at risk for disease are taking a statin drug to help lower bad cholesterol, known as LDL [Low Density Lipoprotein]. But statin drugs are not as effective in raising HDL [High Density Lipoprotein], the good cholesterol in the blood that helps fight disease. Now doctors are excited about a new drug that dramatically increases those HDL levels. But as VOA's Melinda Smith reports, patients may still have to wait a few years before the drug is available to the public.
