AARP MedicareComplete - Is It A Good Plan?
Call (888) 310-0376 to Get Quotes on Top Rated Medicare Advantage Plans. AARP MedicareComplete is one of the most recognizable brands in the Medicare Advantage market, but is it a good plan? This video will address that question. Visit http://affordablemedicareplan.com to get access to hundreds of articles on Medicare Advantage, Medicare supplements and Part D insurance. I had a reader post a comment and ask if AARP MedicareComplete was a good Medicare Advantage Plan. Questions about which Medicare Advantage Plans are best is a common question. The question itself reveals a lack of understanding about Advantage Plans having to be measured against an individuals needs and circumstances. A good Medicare Advantage Plan is one that includes all the benefits you desire at reasonable out-of-pocket costs. Your providers should be in the plan's network and your drugs should all be included in the plan's formulary. The monthly premium must also be affordable. Further compounding the issue with AARP Medicare Complete is the fact that the plan will not include the same benefits, network type or out-of-pocket costs in every service area. MedicareComplete may be an HMO, HMO-POS or a PPO plan. The type of network will determine how you use your plan. To understand all the benefits and costs associated with a plan you should refer to the Summary of Benefits. Also, review the MedicareComplete provider directory and Part D formulay. Only then will you be able to assess the plan's value in relation to your needs. If you would like to learn about Medicare Advantage and Medicare supplements get my 8 Part Video Mini-Course. MEDICARE PART C - The Advantage Plan & How Does It Work?
http://www.FirstMedicareAdvisors.com - - Office: 1-800-825-2919 - - Email: info@firstmedicareadvisors.com - - Recorded Hotline: 1-800-958-8171 - - PS: No Sales Pitches Ever! We hate them much as you do! A Medicare Advantage Plan, like an HMO or PPO, is another choice you have as part of Medicare. The Medicare Advantage Plans, also called “Part C” or “MA Plans” are offered and administered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. A Medicare Advantage Plan will provide your Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance) coverage. Some Advantage Plans may offer extra coverage, such as vision, hearing, dental, and wellness programs. Most do include prescription drug coverage, the Part D. What happens is, Medicare pays a fixed amount for your care every month to the company offering your Advantage Plan. The company must follow the rules set by Medicare. However, each Advantage Plan can charge different out-of-pocket costs and have different rules for how you get your services. For example: do you need a referral to see a specialist or which doctors, facilities, or suppliers you go to for non-urgent care. And, these rules can change each year. It's important to review the differences between the types of Advantage plans to see which works best for you. There are different types of Advantage plans and the three most popular types are: • HMO - Health Maintenance Organization: lets you see doctors and other health professionals who participate in its network. If your doctor is already on the network, it could be a good option because you tend to pay less out-of-pocket with in-network physicians. • PPO - Preferred Provider Organization: Covers both in- and out-of-network providers, giving you the freedom to choose any doctor that accepts Medicare assignment, which can work if you prefer that kind of flexibility. • FFS - Fee-for-Service plan: Here, the method determines how much it will pay your doctors and how much you must pay when you get care. Your doctor must accept the plan’s payment terms and agree to treat you. If the physician doesn’t agree to those terms, then the FFS plan will not cover services through that doctor Now, you do remain enrolled in Original Medicare even if you are in an Advantage plan. Which means you must continue paying your Part B premiums in addition to your Advantage plan premiums. Also, if you do enroll in an Advantage plan, you will not be allowed to obtain a Medicare Supplement plan to cover the deductibles, copays and coinsurance costs of your Advantage plan. These are all out-of-pocket costs to you! What do you do now? Simple! As a qualified broker, we specialize in Original Medicare and helping you with your Medicare supplement and drug plans. Your Rights with Medicare - 877-88KEITH (53484)
What are your rights with Medicare? Complete Medicare Resource Center here: http://www.medsupsavings.com/ 877-88KEITH (53484) Understanding Your Rights with Medicare and How Knowing Helps You Get the Best Coverage Beneficiaries participating in the federal government healthcare coverage program Medicare should be aware of rights they have for protection purposes. Your rights with Medicare provide protection under specific circumstances you should know about. Those who enroll for coverage will be made aware of this information in further detail based on what plan they qualify for. When this information is received you should review it carefully and ask questions if you need clarity. You can get additional details about your rights through Medicare.gov and through local legal services. The following points give insight on rights and protections beneficiaries should know about with Medicare coverage. • Your rights with Medicare include different areas related to healthcare coverage and services received. These rights help protect patients when health care services are received. There are rights in place to ensure patients receive services the law says you are entitled to. Such rights also provide protection against healthcare practices deemed unethical. More importantly, you have rights that keep your information private. • There are rights in place for everyone and anyone who receives Medicare coverage. These include general yet important details beneficiaries are entitled to as a Medicare recipient. For instance, you have rights that ensure you are treated fairly, protection from discrimination, have access to qualified health professionals, answers to questions you have, and rights to ensure you get as much information as possible about the health coverage itself to help you make the best decision about your health care. • Under original Medicare you have rights in relation to health care you receive. You have rights that allow you to purchase additional coverage for health care needs (Medigap), get details of when Medicare does not cover a service, and the right to obtain services from a Medicare-approved provider or facility. • Under Medicare Advantage plans you have a variety of rights that allow you to select your doctor of choice to ensure you get the care necessary, obtain treatment from the doctor or facility of choice (especially under special medical situations), and you have the right to know how doctors receive payment. If there are differences in the plan you have selected you have a right to appeal them. You have the right to file a grievance or complaint if there are issues with your plan. You also have rights that let you get information about coverage prior to receiving services. • Under the Medicare prescription drug plan (Part D) beneficiaries have specific rights including an appeal to resolve concerns related to determining coverage, filing a grievance or complaint, and your rights with Medicare include keeping prescription drug details related to your health private. How to Get More Information Regarding Medicare Rights There are several source options available to help you understand your rights as a beneficiary. These options include insurance assistant programs offered in your state (SHIP), the Medicare Beneficiary Ombudsman, and your state survey agency that oversee program activity related to Medicaid and Medicare. ================================================== QUICK AND EASY MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT QUOTES http://www.medsupsavings.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Med-Sup-Savings/1709195569306815 Twitter: https://twitter.com/MedSupSavings LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/keith-armbrecht/5/11b/3a0 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/BigHealthGreatWealth

Everyone's 3 Medicare Choices explained
Learn about the three medicare choices available to seniors in this short video and how they could each effect Jack's real life medical scenario. This recording is done with real plans and premiums for a specific coverage area in Southern New Hampshire. These plans are comparable options through the country. Meet Jack, he is 67 years old and has been on original medicare since he turned 65. At the time it seemed like the least expensive choice, and simplest way to enroll in Medicare, as he really did not need to do much. Everything was going fine while he was healthy, but recently he was admitted to the hospital for an illness, and received a bill for $10,000 that he had to pay. he thought being on Medicare meant he only had to pay small copays. Jack quickly realizes that he cannot afford to pay this again, as he is on fixed income with little savings to spare. After some research he finds that he has 3 options to choose from. Although his monthly payments are low on original Medicare with only his part B portion of $104.90. With Original Medicare will face the possibility of limitless medical bills in the future. Jack sees that he is not getting any younger or healthier. His next option is to enroll into a Medicare advantage plan, which seems to make sense. He sees that there are low premiums and they include prescription drug plans. Unfortunately he realizes that his network of doctor will shrink and one of his doctors is out of network. He discovers that these plans can change each year and there is no guarantee that the plan will stay the same. His 3rd choice is a Medigap or supplement plan that he has seen commercials for but never really understood. He notices that there are several options to choose from, but the F plan makes the most sense for him, as it is the most comprehensive. His doctor will also be included and he can see any doctor that accepts medicare patients. This information is easy for Jack to find right in his Medicare and You guide book that is provided to him by Medicare. You can also click below this video to find other helpful link for this information. Lets see how much each of these choices would cost Jack if he was admitted to the doctor again with the same illness that cost him $10,000 on original medicare. he knows that if the bill was to double so would his bill with original medicare as his portion of the cost is limitless. This could be financially devastating and cost him his retirement. he finds the medicare advantage plan that would be most suitable for him, and it has a reasonable premium of $32 a month. This plan also includes a prescription drug plan. He will lose one of his doctors and need a referral to see specialist doctors since he has an HMO plan, but he likes the low monthly cost. The maximum he can be responsible to pay with this plan in a year is up to $6700. This is still a lot of money for Jack and if the same illness was to happen he would have to pay that $6700 so the annual cost for health care would over $7000 In searching for a Supplement plan he finds that there are premiums ranging from $166-$252 a month. He knows that all the F plans are exactly the same and the only difference is the premium the insurance companies charge. Jacks plan will also never been changed unless he chooses to have it changed. He now knows there will be no medical expenses beyond the monthly premium other than his prescription drug plan. He has certainty that the annual medical expenses will be $3634 regardless of how big the doctor bills may be. What would you choose if you were Jack? . We suggest using an independent broker that can help compare rates and plans across a wide variety of companies to help Shop, compare, and apply. Silverscript Part D vs. Humana vs. AARP & Other Medicare Prescription Drug Plans
Call 1-800-892-7981 or visit http://medicarefriend.com/ Hi there, I'm Glen with the Medicare friend. I have given advice to thousands of folks that are turning 65 and getting onto Medicare for the first time, and what I tell them is conveniently located below for you: Silverscript Part D vs. Humana vs. AARP & All Other Medicare Prescription Drug Plans You're getting ready for Medicare and you are wondering how in the world are you going to get your prescriptions covered and everybody is starting to mail you stuff. Silverscript and AARP and Humana- Humana is so hot right now! AARP is the one that your sister or brother or friend or mother or neighbor has and they love it so is that the best one for you? The correct answer is Maybe... Here's why- unlike Medicare supplements that are all standardized and have to offer identical benefits- Medicare Part D prescription plans can be very different. Each of these Insurance Companies gets to decide how much your specific prescription that you're taking is going to cost. Here's where it gets a little shifty- if a company is boasting that they have a $0 deductible that doesn't mean anything because they may have a much higher co-pay then the next one. And the company with the higher deductible could say that your prescriptions are in a lower-tier on their formulary. And ultimately you would end up paying less for the company with the higher deductible. Better yet some companies with high deductibles can say for your prescriptions, the deductible doesn't apply to them in the first place. And best of all some of the part D plans offer free 3 month supply prescriptions through the mail order. Each person that our team helps gets a thorough analysis on medicare.gov so they will know to the penny what they will pay on one plan versus another. So you can make sure you have the Best Plan! And another nice thing is every year we revisit this with you and make sure you are still in the Medicare Part D plan that saves you the most money overall. So if you get more prescriptions later, you're not stuck, you can switch to a plan that covers your new prescriptions the best. Call us now for a free consultation- We make this SO Easy for you! Talk to you soon. Here at the Medicare friend, we shop the entire market for you, because all we want is to see you happy, with great coverage, and keeping as much money in your pocket as possible. We have NO OTHER MOTIVATION than to give you the best of the best. Call us now or visit us at Medicarefriend.com to schedule a free consultation. Insurance companies offering Medicare Advantage Plans all receive a fixed amount of money to pay for patient care, cover general overhead and earn a profit. Although plans must adhere to certain guidelines such as providing all Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, they are able to: Set premiums Determine cost-sharing amounts (deductibles, copayments & coinsurance) Include extra benefits (i.e. dental, vision, hearing Silver Sneakers Gym membership etc.) Medicare Advantage Plans may also include Part D coverage, further adding to the cost-sharing variables. The benefits included in a plan will have the biggest impact on monthly premiums. And with differing cost-sharing amounts, it's easy to shift costs to services and away from monthly premiums. There are many moving parts to consider when determing the overall annual cost of a Medicare Advantage Plan. Original Medicare is the Medicare parts A & B and D that we have detailed in previous videos. In this video we will talk about Medicare Advantage plans. In our next video of this series we will discuss Medicare Supplement or Medigap plans. You are only allowed a Medicare Supplement plan if you keep your Original Medicare. You cannot have a Medicare Supplement or Medigap plan and a Medicare Advantage plan at the same time. So, let’s talk about Medicare Advantage plans. 1. Medicare Advantage plans replace your Original Medicare. They are not supplements. They do not supplement or enhance your Medicare coverage, they replace it. (show book) When you choose a Medicare Advantage plan the benefits and appeals processes outlined in this guide are no longer relevant. You can throw this book away. Your benefits will be detailed in an “Evidence of Coverage” provided by the insurance company you choose to replace your Medicare, along with their “Annual Notice of Change”. You no longer need to show your doctor your red, white and blue Medicare card or Medicare number, you will have a new card provided to you by the insurance company. You can no longer appeal your benefits to Medicare. Medicare is out of the picture as far as your personal service in concerned. If you decide to appeal an insurance decision, you must appeal to the insurance company. 2. Medicare Advantage plans are typically HMOs or PPOs and on occasion a Private-Fee-for-Service plan. HMO stands for Health Maintenance Organization. PPO stands for Preferred Provider Organization. We will talk more about both of those in a minute. What is important to understand is that Medicare Advantage plans are not standardized, they are regulated to meet a certain minimum coverage. That is an important concept, so let me explain further. Medicare Part A & B is standardized. Medicare Supplement plans are standardized. Everyone in those plans receives the exact same benefits, they can see the exact same doctors and should have the exact same experience. With Medicare Advantage plans, each plan has different benefits, different co-pays, and deductibles, covers different medical services and has a different network of doctors and hospitals. Everyone’s experience is different and depends on which plan they have chosen. In additional; all the benefits, co-pays, deductibles and the doctors and hospitals in the network can and will change each and every year. It will be your responsibility to keep up with the changes via their mandatory Annual Notice of Change. It’s your responsibility to study this annual notice and determine how the changes may impact your healthcare. Medicare Advantage plans are regulated to meet a certain minimum standard. That minimum standard dictates that they must be actuarially equivalent to Medicare Parts A and Part B. That’s an interesting term “actuarially equivalent”. What does that mean?

Medicare Advantage Plan And Medicare Supplement Policy - Can You Have Both?
Have you ever wondered about whether you could have a Medicare Advantage Plan and a Medicare Supplement policy? In this video I will address that topic and explain why having both types of Medicare Plans at the same time is not allowed . Get more Medicare answers at: http://affordablemedicareplan.com A subscriber had asked me whether he could have a Medicare Advantage Plan and a Medigap policy at the same time. To answer the question, here's a review of both Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplemental insurance. Medicare Advantage Plans (sometimes called Part C) are available from private insurance companies that are contracted with The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide and administer your Medicare benefits. Instead of being subject to the Medicare Part A deductible and the 20% coinsurance for Medicare-covered outpatient services, Advantage Plans can set their own out-of-pocket amounts. These are deductibles, copayments and coinsurance. When you enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you agree to pay these amounts for covered benefits. A Medicare supplement is also offered by a private insurance company and is also known as Medigap. Medigap policies work in conjunction with original Medicare (rather than being another way to receive Medicare benefits) to pay a portion your out-of-pocket expenses, Medicare Part A deductible, Medicare Part B deductible and Part B coinsurance, etc. You cannot have a Medicare Advantage Plan and a Medicare supplement at the same time because a supplement will not pay any of the out-of-pocket expenses associated with a Medicare Advantage Plan. Medigap plans Medicare Advantage plan premiums will rise
click here-------http://www.Medigaplist.com Medicare advantage plans will raise their premiums in the future. Medigap plans will eventually become the better choice for some seniors as the advantage plans receive less money from the government medicare system. I was at a seminar today with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross, Bravo, and a lot of other companies except AARP United Healthcare. They were talking about the government taking away 2% of the Medicare cost and putting it on the Medicare advantage plan insurance companies.

Medicare Supplement Plan N - Is Medigap Plan N the Best?
Medicare Supplement Plan N Http://www.Medisupps.com 888-891-0229 Learn Why Plan N is one of the best choices for Medicare Supplement Insurance! This will be one of the most popular choices for Medicare supplement plans in 2017. If you're one of the 130,000 GE Retirees losing healthcare benefits, you already know that you will be receiving a $1000 per year allowance. One important thing to remember though is: You do NOT have to get your Medicare Supplement through OneExchange! You only need to get your Part D drug plan through them to receive the subsidy each year. OneExchange's website currently is only showing just a few (out of well over 30) plans available in most areas, AND they are ridiculously overpriced! Medicare Supplement Plan N in 2016 is an outstanding choice due to it's lower premiums that both Plan F and G, and could be your best option to hopefully fit your budget whether your are a GE retiree or not. You owe it to yourself to get a second opinion regardless of which Medicare supplement plan your considering, and I assure you that you will be amazed at how much lower the premiums can be for the plans from each carrier. Let us help! Medicare supplement plan N is quickly becoming one of the most popular Medigap plans available today. Many people are enjoying the lower premiums as well as the outstanding coverage that Medicare supplement plan N provides. Although Medigap plan F and G are still more popular than this plan, more and more people are realizing that if they are healthy or coming off a Medicare advantage plan, Medicare supplement plan N is one of the best choices to enroll in. This is because plan N has lower premiums each month than plan F or plan G. The tradeoff however, is that with plan N you might have some additional out of pocket expenses. These expenses include things like the part B annual deductible, up to a $20.00 co pay per doctor's visit, and perhaps a $50.00 co pay if you visit the emergency room but you're not admitted. And although Medicare supplement plan N does not cover part B excess charges, most people do not ever see these charges and if they do they are typically minimal. Therefore you should not be concerned with any additional out of pocket expenses if the premiums are low enough to consider Medicare supplement plan N over plan G or plan F. To get instant online quotes for Medicare supplement plan N simply visit Medisupps.com. There you can be assured that you can view online quotes without getting calls from 10 different agents. While we might call you myself to see if you have everything you need for Medigap Plan N, I promise no one else will ever get your information. Let's find out together and find out if Medicare supplement plan N is the best coverage for you. In just a quick, 5 minute phone call, I can determine the best plan and company to meet your needs. Feel free to call me at 888-891-0229, no obligation phone call. Is Medicare supplement plan N the best for you? Let's find out together! Medicare Supplement Plan J
http://SeniorSavingsNetwork.org at 1-800-729-9590 What a GREAT feeling to help seniors on finding the best Medicare Supplement plan!!
Medicare Supplement, What is it and how does it Work?
Here is a brief description of what a Medicare Supplement is and how it works. A Medicare Supplement is also known as a Medigap Policy. We helped thousands of people on Medicare and people that are aging into Medicare, including those who lost their employer retiree healthcare benefits. People from Boeing, AT&T, and now GE Retirees...we can show you the BEST options available in your area for Medicare Supplement Plans, at the lowest premiums. And Medicare Supplement Plan G for 2016 is definitely a great option, especially over Plan F. Are you just turning 65 and wondering what the best Medicare Supplement plan is? Many agents will tell you it's Plan F. They'll say it's the best plan because it covers everything 100%. While this is true, they're not writing the check for the monthly premium each month for you, are they? You need to look at all of your options, and Medicare Supplement Plan G is always always a better choice than Plan F. Medicare Supplement Plan G is almost identical to Plan F except for one small deductible. In fact Plan G is becoming increasingly popular, and my guess is that more and more people turning 65 will end up on Medicare Supplement Plan G even over Plan F. And although nothing is written in stone yet, it is quite likely that if the government does decide to make any major changes to Medigap plans they will likely first go after plans that offer what is called "first dollar coverage". This means Medicare Supplement Plan F and Plan C, as these plans begin paying 100% the very first day people get enrolled. This becomes quite costly for everyone if people start visiting their doctor for every little health problem. So why choose Medicare Supplement Plan G? You'll save money on Plan G! Not only are the premiums lower, but the rate increase each year average far less than Medigap Plan F. Even after you pay the Part B deductible yourself you almost always end up saving money with Plan G. In some cases the savings are incredible. For instance with people age 70 and above in many zip codes you can save hundreds of dollars per year by going with Medicare Supplement plan G rather than Plan F. Learn why Medicare Supplement Plan G could be your very best choice for a Medigap plan and what it might cost you if you go with Plan F. One important thing to remember is that regardless of which Medigap plan you choose, each insurance company has the exact same benefits and coverage for each plan letter. This means a Medicare Supplement Plan G from Aetna has the same benefits of a Plan G from AARP. This is because the plans are standardized by Medicare, who chooses what each plan's benefits will be. That however, is where the similarities stop. That's because each insurance company is allowed to charge different monthly premiums for the exact same plans and benefits. This means if you choose the wrong company it could end up costing you hundreds or thousands of extra dollars per year! Don't get caught paying too much for Medicare Supplement Plan G. Learn what the best way to shop for a Medicare supplement plan is, and how to choose properly. Best Medicare Advantage Plan
Best Medicare Advantage Plan? Get FREE help with Medicare Advantage Plans http://medicaresavingsolutions.com/ 1-800-663-5707 How to choose the best Medicare Advantage Plan for you! What is the best Medicare Advantage Plan? This is a question I get almost every day. When I help someone choose a Medicare Advantage Plan that is best for their needs there are 5 main things we look for in the Medicare Advantage Plan (Medicare Part C Plan). The first thing you want to look for to find a good Medicare Advantage Plan is the Provider Network. In order to be a good plan for you it must have a large choice or network of providers. So when you choose the best Medicare Plan for you it is very important to make sure all of your Medical and Pharmacy providers are in the network. You may have a plan that allows you to see providers outside the network, but you will pay a higher cost share so it is best to stay in network if possible. The second thing I look for when helping someone select the best Medicare Advantage Plan for their needs is the Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. We always make sure to look up all the medications a person has to help determine which plan will cover them all and give the lowest out of pocket costs. You also want to be sure that the plan will cover prescriptions that may pop up in the future as well. Medical Coverage is the third thing to look for. We always compare the medical coverage on the Medicare Advantage plans available in a clients area. One key factor in comparing Medicare plans is to look for coverages in plans where your out of pocket costs are limited to a specific dollar amount. This makes it easier to determine what you will be paying for services. It is much harder to estimate costs if your out of pocket portion is determined by a percentage of the total Medicare approved amount. Monthly cost is the fourth thing we look at. Some may say that the monthly cost is one of the most important factors in choosing the best Medicare Advantage Plan. This can be true because there are some plans out there that while they may have better coverage than some others, they can be way overpriced. You want to make sure the difference benefits make up for the difference in monthly premium. There is a large misconception that there are FREE Medicare Advantage Plans, it is true that there are $0 premium Medicare Advantage Plans out there, but there are out of pocket costs associated with the plans. If there is a higher cost Medicare Advantage Plan that you are considering then before you sign up for that plan it is a good idea to compare that with the best Medicare Supplement plan in the area. There are many Advantage Plans that are so high in monthly cost that it is better to choose a Medicare Supplement Plan that would give you much better Medical coverage. In my opinion one of the most important factors to determine the Medicare Advantage Plan that is right for someone is the Company they go with. You want to look for a plan with a larger reputable company that has been in the Medicare Advantage business for a while. There are a lot of small companies that pop up everywhere just to get a piece of the pie. They may be good for you for a year and then bad the next and you'd have to go through the whole process of finding a plan again. You want to avoid switching Medicare Advantage Plans every year. It can lead to a lot of issues for you because every Medicare Advantage plan has different networks, different prescription coverage, different health coverage, and many other things that could cause problems. You could end up needing to change medications or providers. If you do change plans just make sure you prepare for those differences and also prepare to get new referrals if your plan requires them. Another big tip I have for people with a Medicare Advantage Plan is "Don't get sold"! A lot of agents will convince you that you should change your plan over a 5 or 10 dollar difference in copays, premiums, or some other minor difference. This can cause problems like I mentioned before, unless there is a major change in your plan then "don't fix what isn't broken"! Don't get sold a plan, always make sure it is 100% in your best interest. At Medicare Saving Solutions we are independent agents and help hundreds of seniors every year find the best Medicare Advantage Plan for their needs. Best Medicare Supplement Plan
What is the best Medicare supplement? To really answer that question you should take your individual circumstances into account. For instance, which plans do you have available? How much budget do you have available for supplemental coverage? Medicare supplement Plan F is the most comprehensive and if your budget will allow, it is a good choice. How is a Plan N different that the complete coverage of a Plan F? Medigap Plan N is different than a Medigap Plan F is three ways. First, you pay the annual Medicare Part B deductible. That deductible is just $166 per year as of 2016. It may be more or less in the years ahead. Only Medigap Plan F and Medigap Plan C pay that Medicare Part B deductible, and that is why those two plans will be discontinued as of 2020. Medigap Plan N and all other Medicare Supplements require you to pay the annual Medicare Part B deductible. It’s just $166 and it’s no big deal compared to the hundreds of dollars you save in premiums. The second way Medicare Supplement Plan N is different that a Medicare Supplement Plan F is that with Plan N you pay up to a $20 co-pay when you visit the doctor and a $50 co-pay for an emergency room visit unless you are admitted to the hospital. If you see a doctor a couple times per year, a $20 co-pay is a fair exchange for the hundreds of dollars in lower premium. The third and final way that a Medicare Supplement Plan N is different that a Medigap Plan F is that Medigap Plan N does not insure against Medicare Part B excess charges. Now, this scares a lot of people until they understand how inconsequential this feature really is. Only doctors who do not accept Medicare Assignment can charge a Medicare Part B excess charge. Medicare assignment simply means that Medicare assigns the price to the service. Only 3%, three out of 100 doctors do not accept Medicare Assignment which then allows them to bill an excess charge. All you have to do is ask your doctor if they accept Medicare Assignment. Odds are 97% that they do. If so, then that feature of a Plan N is of no concern. If your doctor is one of the three out of one-hundred that does not accept Medicare Assignment, simply request that they bill you only the assignment rates so that Medicare covers the cost of his or her services. It’s that simple. Most seniors on Medicare never encounter a doctor that does not accept Medicare Assignment in their entire life. There you have it. If you are considering a Medicare Supplement to add coverage to your Original Medicare, consider and price at least Medigap Plan F, Medigap Plan N and Medigap Plan F-HD. In states outside of Florida, also, consider Medigap Plan G (detailed in a separate article). To find the best prices for each of these plans, simply complete a quote request. Medicare Advantage Plan or Medicare Supplement, Which one is for me?
What is Medicare? Medicare is insurance offered to people that are 65 or older and to people that have certain disabilities. There are two parts to Medicare, Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B. Medicare Part A is what you use when you enter the hospital or a Skilled Nursing Facility. Medicare Part B is what you will use for your medical and Doctor bills. How much does Medicare cost per month? Most people will only have to pay a monthly premium for Medicare Part B. The current Part B Premium for most people is $121.80 per month. What will I have to pay when I use Medicare? Medicare Part A: When you go to the hospital you will have to pay the first $1,288.00 for each benefit period. When you enter a Skilled Nursing Facility, you will have to pay $161.00 per day starting day 61. Medicare Part B: You will have to pay the first $166.00 per year for medical and Doctor bills, then Medicare will step in and pay 80% of your bills. Please note, that there is no max out of pocket for the 20% that you have to pay. What are my coverage options for Medicare? It may feel like you have a hundred different Medicare coverage options, however you really only have 2. All of those options fit into 1 of 2 types of coverages. Medicare Advantage Plan Medicare Supplement Plan (Also called a "Medigap Plan") Every option that you are reviewing online, or getting plan information fits into one of the above, it is either a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Medicare Supplement Plan. Understanding which type of coverage you want is the first step and it will make choosing your actual Medicare Plan much easier. What is a Medicare Advantage Plan? A Medicare Advantage Plan is not a Supplement Plan, it is a private alternative to Medicare. A Medicare Advantage Plan will not pay the bills that Medicare would normally pay, instead a Medicare Advantage Plan will charge you a different deductible, different copays and different co-insurance compared to Medicare. Medicare Advantage Plan Summary: Low monthly premium. (Sometimes advertised as $0.00 per month) You will usually have to pay a fee every time you use the plan. ($15.00 copay for PCP visit, $300.00 per day each day you are in the hospital, etc...) You have to go to certain Doctors, Hospitals and Providers. (HMO or PPO Network) You will have to get prior authorizations for some procedures. You will have to get referrals to go see a specialist. What is a Medicare Supplement Plan? A Medicare Supplement Plan will be the best coverage you have ever had in your life. If you go to the hospital your Medicare Supplement Plan will pay the $1,288.00 that Medicare does not pay. When you go to the Doctor, get lab work or even a surgery - Medicare will pay 80% and your Medicare Supplement Plan will pay the other 20%. With a Medicare Supplement Plan, you will pay more per month but you are paying for: Flexibility - You can go to any Doctor that accepts Medicare and you do not have to get prior authorizations for procedures. Predictability - You know that as long as you pay your monthly premium, You will rarely have a bill that you have to pay. (My favorite Medicare Supplement Plan is G. With Plan G, all you pay is the Part B Deductible) So which type of coverage is best for you? Ask yourself this question: "If I chose a Medicare Supplement Plan, and I pay $120.00 per month, and I have a good year with my health, let's say I didn't really use the Supplement Plan that much - Would I consider that $120.00 per month a waste of money or becausej I am 65 or older, and I am more likely to use my health insurance in the next 5 years compared to the last 5 years, the $120.00 per month is a cost of living?" Waste of money - If you chose a "waste of money", and you do mind being told what Doctors you can go too, then you are a "Medicare Advantage Plan person". Click here for a guide on how to choose the right Medicare Advantage Plan. Cost of living - If you chose "cost of living" then you are a "Medicare Supplement Plan person". A guide, to aid you in understanding the basics of Medicare Parts A, B, C & D and a whole lot more. Frequently Asked Questions What is Medicare supplement insurance? Medicare supplement (Medigap) insurance is sold by private insurance companies and helps cover the costs that Medicare doesn't cover. Can I purchase a Medicare supplement insurance plan? You are probably eligible to purchase a Medicare supplement insurance plan if you are enrolled in Medicare Parts A or B. If you are in your Open Enrollment period, insurance companies that offer Medicare supplement plans must allow you to purchase. Open enrollment is over. What now? You may still apply for Medicare supplement insurance at the company of your choice. However, they will review your medical history and current health using their application process. How do I pay for Medicare supplement insurance? You pay the insurance company that provides you coverage. You can typically pay for your insurance monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. This cost is in addition to your Medicare Part B expense. Will my premium ever change? It is likely your premium will change with the rising cost of healthcare claims. Each year, you may be subject to both an age increase due to your birthday and an increase due to the medical claims the insurance company has to pay out for policies like yours. Does Medicare supplement insurance limit my choice of doctor? No, you may select any doctor that accepts Medicare. Does Medicare supplement insurance cover prescriptions? No, Medicare supplement insurance does not cover prescription expenses. You will need to enroll in a separate Medicare Part D drug plan for coverage. Part D is prescription drug coverage that is offered through private Medicare-approved insurance companies. Every Medicare Prescription Drug Plan has its own list of drugs, called a formulary, for which it will provide coverage. A formulary is divided into different tiers according to the cost of the drug: drugs on a lower tier will generally have lower copayments than drugs on a higher tier. As Parts C and D are provided by private insurance companies, the monthly premiums of these policies depend on the extent of their coverage and can vary between companies. However, although the cost varies from plan to plan, the payment structure for Part D often can create a gap in coverage. Essentially, you pay monthly premiums for Part D all year, and with most plans you pay 100 percent of your drug costs until you reach your deductible amount. After your deductible, the cost of your drugs is split between you and your plan. However, once you and your plan have spent $3,310 on covered drugs, you’ve entered the coverage gap, and now will have to pay 58 percent of the price of generic drugs and 45 percent of the price of brand-name drugs. You will not exit the coverage gap until you’ve spent out-of-pocket $4,850 (Troop – true out of pocket expenses) on prescription drugs. At that point, you will qualify for “catastrophic coverage” and will only have to pay a small copayment for covered drugs for the rest of the year

Medicare Advantage vs Medicare Supplement
www.healthplansinoregon.com Phone: 503-998-6169 Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement are insurance plans that you can use to help cover additional healthcare costs but which plan better fits your needs and budget?  Choice 1: Medicare Advantage, is also known as Medicare Part C. It's offered as an alternative or replacement to Original Medicare. You need to be enrolled on both Part A and Part B to qualify for this plan. This type of Medicare plan offer benefits included under Medicare Part A and Part B plus additional benefits such as dental, vision and hearing. Some plans even cover for things like Fitness benefits and Prescription Drugs all in one simple and convenient plan. Medicare advantage plan may require you to pay predictable deductibles, co-pays and coinsurance but usually starts at a low to no premium per month. Most common plan types are PPO and HMO.  If you can choose an HMO plan, make sure to stay in-network doctors/providers and referrals are required. Choice 2: Medicare Supplement, also known as Medigap helps cover deductibles, co-pays and coinsurance that Original Medicare doesn't pay for. Plan F is the most popular and expensive plan because it covers most of the deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance that Original Medicare won't cover.  However, Medicare Supplement does not include benefits like dental, vison and hearing. Prescription Drugs is not included as well, so Plan D or similar coverage must be purchased separately. This plan usually has a higher premium but lets you choose any doctor/provider that accepts original Medicare.  So how do you know which one is right for you? *Medicare Advantage is right for you if you  like lower monthly premium in exchange for reasonable deductibles, co-insurance and copays, prefer to have all the benefits in a single plan and are willing to use in-network providers. *Medicare Supplement maybe right for you if you want the peace of mind of not worrying about unexpected high medical bills in case of illness or accident but it costs much higher monthly premium. You also need to enroll on a drug plan to cover your prescriptions. Finding the right Medicare health plan is an important step in meeting your healthcare needs and budget. We are here to help you, we're you trusted, local, experienced and licensed independent agent. Feel free contact us at 503-998-6169.
Does Medicare Cover Dental? What About Dental Crowns And Dentures?
Get Instant Access http://free-mini-course.com In this video I answer the question, "Does Medicare cover dental?" I also discuss what dental expenses are covered and which are not. Tips are given on choosing a Medicare Plan to increase dental coverage. Senior dental insurance is expensive so it's only natural to expect that dental is covered by the Medicare program. After all, routine dental and restorative procedures such as dental crowns, bridges and dentures can put a big dent in your budget. Medicare was never intended to offer comprehensive coverage. Dental, vision and hearing aides are seen as extras and the focus is on inpatient stays and outpatient procedures, doctor's visits and tests. Many people think that buying a Medicare supplement will give them dental coverage, but sadly this is not the case. A Medicare Advantage Plan will often include extra benefits like dental and vision. Medicare Advantage dental benefits can come in one of two ways. Benefits can be as a dental discount or as a dental insurance rider. If you would like to compare Medicare Supplement insurance vs Medicare Advantage, get my 8 Part Video Mini-Course. It will unlock the information you need to choose the best plan for your circumstances. 2018 Medicare Supplement Insurance Open Enrollment Period/ 2018 Annual Enrollment/Election Period
2018 Medicare Supplement Insurance Open Enrollment Period/ 2018 Annual Enrollment/Election Period. Which applies to me? Do I have to make any changes this year? If you're on Medicare, like most people, it's easy to get confused on if you need to make any changes annually to your Medicare supplemental coverage. For example, if you have Medicare Supplement OR Part C Medicare Advantage coverage. This brief video outlines what the differences are between the Annual Medicare enrollment/election period- and your one-time Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment period. If you're already on Medicare, then you have an annual enrollment period that goes from 10/15- 12/07 of each year. During this time, you can make changes to your Medicare Part D drug coverage, as well as your Medicare Advantage coverage (if applicable). When turning 65 or if you're 65 and older, and your Part B starts for the first time, this triggers your one-time, Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Period, and it lasts for 6 months. This time period allows you to buy any Medicare Supplement plan available in your area, with no health underwriting involved. You can't be denied. If you have a Medicare Supplement plan, the annual enrollment/election period doesn't really apply to you, as your Medicare Supplement plan is guaranteed renewable for life as long as premiums are paid. Your coverage and benefits remain the same from year to year. If you feel like you want to switch/change your Medicare Supplement insurance plan, you can apply to do that 365 days a year. However, if you're outside of your Medicare Supplement Open enrollment period, you will have to answer health questions and be approved for the plan in order to change. If you feel you're paying too much, please contact me. During the Annual Election Period: Which in now through Dec. 7th You may add or drop Medicare Advantage coverage and/or drug coverage, or return to Original Medicare and buy a Medicare Supplement plan (if you qualify). No action is needed if you choose to keep your Medicare Advantage plan. Although, you should check for any benefit changes under the plan for the upcoming year. You may make more than one enrollment choice during the Annual Election Period, but the last one made prior to the end of the Annual Election Period, as determined by the date the plan or your agent receives the completed enrollment form, will be the election that takes effect. If you have any questions about your current coverage and to see if it would be beneficial to make any changes, please reach out to me.
