All right guys, I'm going to show you how to make two of my favorite smoothies. The Green Press formula for smoothies, two cups of greens, a cup of fruit, a protein source, a sweetener, which is optional, and a non-dairy liquid. I'm going to condense that into four ingredients due to the flexibility of a protein powder. I love plant-based protein powders. Coconut and vanilla are my favorite, they're the most versatile. If you can find a brand that isn't too sweet, then you're in the money. We actually found one, and contacted them and collaborated with them to create our own recipe, which added some reishi mushrooms as well, just to crank up a unique, adaptogenic ingredient.
I'm going to just put in, this is the equivalent of about half a scoop of our protein powder. Always go hard on your greens. Spinach is my favorite because you can't taste it. Strangely, after I smash these smoothies and get into the habit of it, I enjoy the taste of raw spinach, which I won't do, because you'll hear some chewing. Your taste buds will evolve. When you have this, these sort of beverages each morning, your taste buds are going to evolve and strangely, you're going to crave salads when you never used to.
Mixed berries, frozen berries, going to be nice and creamy. Full of antioxidants. Get that going. Some coconut water. Just put that on, Nutribullet, nice and efficient. This little mug that I can just run out the door with. Clip it in. All right, that should do it. Nice and red. Sometimes if you go really hard on the spinach, you're going to create a murky sort of color because of that chlorophyll. We got plenty of red berries in here. Straight to it. Delicious. Fruit and vegetables, can it taste any better than that? Amazing. I call that one the Boss.
This is our Lemon Meringue. Spinach, our frozen fruit's going to be banana here, which is obviously a common ingredient for smoothies. I'm going to put a whole lemon in. You read on many blogs and scientifically supported articles that lemon is an amazing ingredient to detoxify in the morning with, but that's normally recommended with lemon juice. Putting a whole lemon in is just cranking that up to the next level. That's really going to process all that bad stuff and lots of vitamin C and nutrients too. Coconut water's my favorite plant-based liquid. Subtle sweetness that comes through and makes this even nicer than it normally would. Just going to shake that.
Nice and creamy. Should be really filling, particularly with that protein source. Keep me out of trouble as the day goes on. It's so tasty, that lemon. It doesn't taste overly sour, it's like having a lemon dessert, particularly with the protein powder. Lemon Meringue smoothie, the Boss. Easy, four and five ingredients, what's to it? Take me three minutes to put those two together, so couldn't be any easier. Best way to get fruit and vegetables to start your day. For both recipes, click on the link below.
Peppermint flavoured choc chip ice cream. It's not going to turn heads or win innovation awards but it's a proven winner. I used to love Peppermint Cornettos. Or Drumsticks. I wasn't loyal to either. Anything with peppermint and chocolate chips. Especially that final bite at the bottom of the cone. Where you get waffle cone meets hard chocolate meets peppermint ice cream. So good.
Naturally, I've copied that flavour pairing and made it healthy. The mint choc chip smoothie bowl with real ingredients. And actual nutrition.
Calmative mint. Great for digestion. A cup of antioxidant rich spinach for a cheeky serve of vegetables. It's also great as a food colouring, pairing up with mint to create our peppermint green. You could also add in spirulina for that extra nutritional and colour pop. And cacao nibs brings the chocolate chips. Dense in magnesium and antioxidants they'll give you energy now and help you sleep deeper later.
