When Hope For Paws received the call about him, I asked Lisa Chiarelli to join me. Benji was very nervous, and when he realized that we were looking at him, he started running, and we started running after him! It was a little tricky because I had to keep an eye on him while running, and at the same time I had to set up my gentle snare AND keep my hand held camera straight – you’ll just have to see how I managed all that ;-) After Lisa and I secured Benji, we got to take a close look him. Physically: he was so badly matted, covered with ticks and fleas, he bit his tongue as he was struggling to escape from us, so you’ll see a little bleeding – nothing serious. Mentally: Benji was living on the streets all his life, so human contact was so hard for him to get used to. After a 2 or 3 hours of grooming and medical care, he continued to Lisa Chiarelli’s house where for 10 days he almost didn’t move… frozen, always looking for a place to hide, and not wanting anyone to touch him. As usual, Lisa’s Pit Bull mixes - Lola and Frankie, decided to help Benji overcome his fears, and the result will make you so happy!!! After we could see the change in him, Benji continued for further rehabilitation with our friends at PAL rescue, and they will also handle his adoption. The process took 5 months of love and care – these things take time. Please SHARE Benji’s video and help us show the world that all dogs deserve a second chance. Lisa Chiarelli and I approached the area and found Dottie, but as soon as she noticed us she ran away. We decided it was best to give her some time to return to the puppies. When she did we tried to enclose the area, but Dottie managed to get away again. We calmed Dottie down and brought her over to her puppies. Ivy, Timon & Pumbaa were fast asleep. We rushed them to the hospital because Ivy didn’t look so good. Unfortunately baby Ivy had to be put down because of the severe pain she was suffering. :-( With over 30,000 stray, abused, abandoned and homeless dogs in Los Angeles alone, we always encourage adoption as a first choice for a pet. :-) To adopt Dottie, Pumbaa or Timon: http://www.doggies911rescue.org Please SHARE & help us show the world the love that these helpless animals need. We use every humane resource possible and try to be as gentle with every animal we rescue. For homeless and abused dogs this is a very difficult process and takes time. At Hope for Paws, we give them all the time they need. Once she was ready, we took her back to LA, where she was pampered like a goddess. Dennis - a sick, neglected Pit Bull gets abandoned on a bridge and left to die. Please share.

04:10
Please donate $5 and help us keep fighting for these dogs: http://www.HopeForPaws.org Dennis was abandoned on a bridge and was left to die. When a young man, Gabriel Sepulveda passed by on his skateboard, he saw Dennis and remembered watching the Hope For Paws video of Jordan, so he knew to call us. It took Lisa Chiarelli and I two hours to get to the location, and what we saw was horrifying. Dennis was on the ground, unable to move, and was covered with ticks. We picked him up, rushed to the hospital, and we started the process of taking all the ticks off and cleaning him up. While doing that, we rushed Lisa's dog (Lola) to the hospital so she could donate blood for Dennis as he suffered from severe anemia. For the next 5 days Dennis was seen by neurologists, cardiologists, and internal medicine specialists, but all of this was not enough... Dennis was too far gone, and his body was shutting down. Not all rescues have happy endings... it's important to understand that! Dennis was neglected somewhere for a long time, and no one spoke for him. If you see an animal in need, please say something... do something. Please share so people will know to take action next time they see a case of neglect or abuse. Thank you! Eldad

Please make a special $10 donation for Hope For Paws' 10th anniversary: http://www.HopeForPaws.org When we received the call about Alice out in the desert town - 2 hours east of Los Angeles, Loreta Frankonyte and I headed straight out to the rescue. We were told the dog had ingested acid , and it resulted in horrible chemical burns to the dog's mouth. When we arrived at the rescue location, we were shocked... the dog smelled like she was rotting away. Hundreds of flies were surrounding her... it was just horrible. Loreta placed the Lucky Leash around Alice and carried her to the Hope For Paws rescue vehicle. At the hospital Alice needed some urgent medical care. Sadly, as of today, she had all of her teeth removed! Alice continued to her foster home, and for the next two months Loreta cooked for her, treated her skin with coconut oil, and gave her lots of love. Loreta's dogs, Bonnie and Coco helped Alice learn how to become an adored pet :-) Two months later, when Alice felt A LOT better, we asked our friends Chris and Michele Gentry to watch Alice for a few days while we had to run to a rescue in South Carolina (Hermione) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXtJcEIkYks By the time we got back, Chris and Michele were completely in love, and they asked to adopt Alice. For those of you who don't know this amazing couple - they adopted Fiona from Hope For Paws 7 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJkZXh9v_i4 This is such an amazing ending to this story and we couldn't be happier for everybody! :-) Today we are celebrating EXACTLY 10 YEARS since we founded Hope For Paws, and we would like to ask you for your help. If you appreciate our videos, please donate any amount you can so we can continue in full force to save these lives: http://www.HopeForPaws.org Thank you so much for sharing our videos - I really appreciate it! Please donate $5 to help Hope For Paws save more lives. If you didn't get your dog a Lucky Leash yet, today is a great day to do that - orders will be mailed first thing Monday morning ;-) http://www.HopeForPaws.org To adopt Zoe and Meadow, please contact our friends from Shelter Hope Pet Shop who are now fostering them: http://www.ShelterHopePetShop.org Hope For Paws was contacted by Vanessa Rosales about a scared dog who kept running away every time anyone approached her. The dog would always run into an enclosed property, and I asked Vanessa not to trespass and let us handle it. When Lisa Chiarelli and I arrived, construction workers allowed us onto the property, and I highly doubted I would find her there because they were working and it was quite noisy. To my surprise I spotted the dog (Zoe) and to my surprise I also found a puppy (Vanessa said it's possible she had puppies recently, but she couldn't confirm that because she had never seen puppies). Lisa and I approached slowly, and I just knew that Zoe wouldn't leave her baby - Meadow. We asked the construction workers where are the other puppies (it's unusual for a dog to just have one puppy), and they told us that 4 days prior to our arrival, kids had stolen the other 5 puppies. We asked if they knew where we could find these kids, but they had no idea. Lisa and I sat with Zoe and Meadow for 30 minutes, gained their trust, and together we continued to the hospital for medical treatment. A couple of days later, Zoe and Meadow continued to their foster home with Shelter Hope Pet Shop and they are now ready to be adopted :-) Please share their rescue story on your favorite social media network so we can find them amazing homes. To make a small donation and help us save more lives, please click here: http://www.HopeForPaws.org Many times when you watch my videos it may seem like I just go to the rescue location and find the dog, but this is actually not true. The search for the dogs is a challenging part of it because they usually hide. Finding Iris was difficult, but it could have been dangerous... we didn't know how she would react when we entered her den, and there is always a risk when going to these rough neighborhoods in the middle of the night. I will post many photo updates on our Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/eldad75 If you are BLOCKED from watching this video, you can see it here: https://vimeo.com/eldad75/videos

Most of them were easy to capture but one absolutely frightened puppy just ran as fast and as far as it could, into every possible space. We thought the family were a Mom and three puppies, but what we found is amazing. With over 30,000 stray, abused, abandoned and homeless dogs in Los Angeles alone, we always encourage adoption as a first choice for a pet. :-) To adopt Wonton, Noodle, Macaroni or Ravioli, please visit: http://hoperanchanimalsanctuary.org Please share and help us find their forever homes. Happy Father's Day! Eldad

We really need your help - if you can donate $5, please do, and if you can't, please share this video: http://www.HopeForPaws.org When a Good Samaritan saw this family abandoned on an off road in the desert (2.5 hours east of Los Angeles), she started feeding them... mom and three babies. Considering that there are so many coyotes in the area, it's incredible they survived! One day the Good Samaritan mentioned the family of dogs to her daughter, and she immediately said: CALL HOPE FOR PAWS! Loreta Frankonyte and I headed out to the desert, and using a cool trick we were able to save all of them! Something incredible happened on the way back to Los Angeles, but that's a WHOLE OTHER STORY for anther video ;-) Our friends at ART N' Paws will handle their adoption, so please visit their website and fill an application here: http://www.artnpawsanimalrescue.org Please help us by sharing the video. Thanks :-) Eldad

This week HOPE FOR PAWS is celebrating TEN YEARS!!! Please join this rescue celebration with a small donation so we can open our new decade strongly: http://www.HopeForPaws.org Special thanks to our friends at LoveJoy foundation for fostering Rain and for handling her adoption: http://www.LovejoyFoundation.org Rain was scared and expressed it in a way that I have never heard in my life! Her cry was heartbreaking, and I am so happy that Carey Linnell called Hope For Paws and asked for help. Her ears were eaten by flies, her coat was filthy, and I can't imagine what caused her to be so fearful. Loreta Frankonyte was able to secure her, calm her down, and I initiated the first contact while Loreta was ready to pull her away from me if needed. Rain never did anything aggressive, she allowed me to touch her and along with Carey, we gained her trust and got her into the crate and from there to the hospital. The next day, Loreta and I met our friend Allison Dunbar on a rescue of a dog named Monkey. After the rescue we headed to the hospital to clean him up, and at the hospital, Allison met Rain and fell in love! A few days later, after a short recovery and a little bit of training with the Lovejoy Foundation, Allison, Kyle and Ernie came to visit Rain again, and the way to the adoption application was short :-) Rain was renamed Sassy Pants Dunbar, and she just LOVES her new life! We really need your help so we can save more lives, so if you enjoy our videos, please donate $5 and help us change the world of these animals. Thank you so much!!! Eldad http://www.HopeForPaws.org

This video is so important because of the cool new trick I came up with while sitting with Rosie under a truck for more than an hour. Please share it with everybody you know... it can help save the lives of so many. Always remember to be VERY CAREFUL when approaching puppies - especially when you don't know how the mom would behave. It can be dangerous. http://www.hopeforpaws.org and http://www.startrescue.org Thanks :-)
