Just a bit of a mash of me playing prototype on the xbox360
This is after a few hours gameplay so my character isn't very highly powered yet.
Here are my impressions after a few hours of gameplay.
* Free world running up walls
Holy shit, this is cool. First time I grabbed the controller I just started sprinting up walls and standing on buildings. I showed Steve and Kirit a little demo yesterday and they both wowed the first time I fired up the game and jumped off a 20 story building. The sense of speed as you fly to the ground is FREAKING AWESOME.
* Smashing choppers is fun
It's like your Venom on steroids and bouncing from place to place is great. Especially if you take a dive off a tall building and land smashing into a chopper. If you're having trouble with choppers just pick up a car and hurl.
* Terminator style presentation
The way the hint system and menu system works, well... it just oozes of Terminator. Red typing text and objectives handed out, made me feel like I was playing a T-800. Perhaps I've got terminator on the mind at the moment, but it's cool never-the-less
* Convoluted Story
The story is presented well, but it's quite a stupid premise. Video game stories are generally crap though. But more importantly your won't feel attached to any characters or have much meaning on why you're doing what your doing through the story.
* Replayability maybe lacking
The game at it's core is pretty simple, and it's a sandbox style world. You make your fun by doing whatever you want to do, so if you don't have fun in the game in the first 5 minutes you probably won't have any fun at all.
DLC might add various new area's and things to do so we'll see, but I doubt a new story line would add much to the game.
Verdict - Buy it if your a fan of singleplayer free-roaming games (Crackdown, GTA4, etc)
