This is the 1st Run I found last weekend while on holiday driving around south of Chemnitz, Germany. Gorgeous landscape and potential runs everywhere...
Shot with GoPro @ 960p 60 FPS (by mistake and therefore) stretched to 1080p S 60 FPS plus a little Slow-Mo at the end.
I was driving around the hills looking for some good spots to skate and came across the 9% steep hill warning sign so I hopped out, grabbed one of my boards out of the back, threw on my gear and pushed off. I didn't check the run first. I just went for it as you can hear by my reaction :)
I took it pretty easy because it was relentlessly steep the whole way down although it doesn't really show on the Video. I had to keep braking to reduce speed as I didn't know the run or surface condition and I was wary of traffic. It was also very narrow and those big-ass trees made me nervous!
'Probably only hit around 45 KPH. 'Would loved to have gone down again much faster but the 1.30 KM walk back up was pretty strenuous with 30 degrees Celsius, no water and a bust knee.
I crashed out because I busted out an unstable 'Stinkbug Slide' (grabbing the board between my legs) instead of a correct 'Coleman Slide' (grabbing the board behind my back leg) which caused me to buck off because I couldn't snap the board back in straight quick enough after the slide. At that time my speed was getting a little over of my comfort zone for an unknown run and I got a little nervous and hit the wrong slide for that speed. Not sure why...
Anyway, I won't make that mistake again. Win or Learn ;)
